I love Doc's! The patio is amazing, and the food is just as fabulous. The inside can get a bit crowded, so I prefer to sit outside. They also have a quiet little back patio that I didn't know about until recently. If you haven't been to Doc's for brunch, you must. It is delicious, and the mimosas are very affordable :) I usually get the Creole scramble for brunch. Sausage, shrimp, scrambled eggs and gravy? What more could you want! Dinner is a bit on the pricier side, but totally worth it. They also have a burger night (it is slipping my mind what night it is, but I'm thinking Tuesday or Wednesday) with cheap well dressed burgers. I would highly recommend starting off with the andouille sausage dip. I wasn't expecting much, but it blew me away. SO delicious! Such a consistently good place. Brunch is great, service is great, atmosphere is great. The Creole scramble is one of my favorite dishes in all of Tulsa. Usually it's just busy enough to be fun, but not uncomfortably so. We like sitting at the bar and Doc's has a great one. I thoroughly enjoy this place. It's one of those places I can bring my book, sip a drink and relax. (It can get pretty dark to read, but I deal) The bartenders here are always up for a good chat which I love. They've got a patio with quite a bit of seating. Inside you will see a lower level with seating and a few steps up into the bar area where there is traditional bar seats as well as pub tables that could accommodate 3+. This place has high quality food (to me anyhow). I tend to lean towards the same dishes. I love their Caesar salad, it's fantastic! I love the sun dried tomato touch. The steak nachos are my other go to plate, so much flavor and so unique. You can't go wrong. I hear great things about their brunch but I've never had a chance to check it out. What is most important to me here is their array of alcoholic beverages! I make a lot of different cocktails and I love that I can go there and request it and they'll have the liquors/liqueurs available to be able to do so. I'm not sure how long their reservations usually are but that's very frustrating. I'm a huge fan of doc's but the person who called was not kind and didn't give us another option. I have driven by here numerous times and just have never stopped because it didn't look like my kind of restaurant from the outside. My friend wanted to go here for brunch and I am glad we did. The patio was completely full (which was a bummer), but understood because of how nice it was outside. So we sat inside at a high top by the bar. Our waitress was great! (I don't remember her name :/) She gave us her recommendations and she was spot on. I had the Hangover Burger and let me just say it cured mine. With an egg on top, a juicy burger, and bacon... It was just what I needed. My friend got chicken and waffles and the best part was the spicy part. We wanted to order almost everything on the menu because it all sounded good. A decent place for brunch on Brookside. Biscuits and gravy were ok, biscuits were a tad dry but butter and gravy made up for that. Fries are good and the Cajun Caesar was ok. Overall unremarkable but decent enough to return. Cozy atmosphere is good for small groups. Carafe of mimosa is $12. They have a full bar, so patio drinking is also a reason to check this place out, especially on a nice day or evening. They offer a daily happy hour from 4-6pm with $1 Gulf oysters on the half shell, $5/glass, $12/half liter, $18/liter house red and white wine, and $5 champagne cocktails. We stopped in for Fat Tuesday, we were seated within 10 minutes which was great. Now for the downhill slope , we waited 15 minutes for a waitress to stop and take our drink order and then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes to receive the drinks. We ordered a half pound of crawfish as they were the special feature for the night, an order of lobster escargot, also a small Caesar salad and chicken Jambalaya. First off the crawfish was cold and bland at best, the corn was severely overcooked and the potatoes were Al dente at best. The lobster car got was COATED in cheese, so much so that it detracted from the flavor of the dish, the jambalaya was almost soupy as it was undercooked. All in all this was our worst experience at Docs, we normally recommend this restaurant for our visitors and I don't believe we could do so moving forward. read more

The last few times that I have been to doc's, one being my birthday and the second being a friends birthday we have been treated extremely poorly by the once waitress turned manager (I cannot remember her name or she probably didn't give it to us but either way she's blonde with a short haircut). In both cases we made reservations for groups of 10+ people. Of course not everyone arrived on time and that's okay. We were seated ordering drinks waiting for the remainder of our party to arrive when the "manager" came up to the table and rudely interrupted our conversation to ask us "when the rest of our party would be arriving because they're almost 45 minutes late and they were turning away tables to accommodate us." Mind you, no one walked in to be seated that got turned away, there was several other empty tables on both the patio AND inside, and majority of our party was present AND ordering drinks as we waited. Even if they were turning people away there was only a small table in the corner of our group that could be taken away to be used for another party and even then they would have been extremely way too close to us because umm COVID. This is not the first time this same person has done this to us and she is now a manager on her high horse and decided she didn't like the response that we gave to her and decided she would tab us out and make us leave. We asked to speak to the owner Darin who had just come by to our table a few minutes before her to ask if we wanted the heaters turned on and he didn't seem to have a problem with the rest of our groups tardiness. We asked to speak to him again because he seemed to be a bit more reasonable and unfortunately that was not the case. He pretty much told us that he believed his staff and not the paying customers and that is when we decided it would be best for us to take our business elsewhere. We went right down the street to Ol' Vine who sat our large party immediately and we had an amazing brunch to celebrate my friends birthday with delicious food and excellent staff that was friendly, attentive, and professional! Been there for weekend brunch and dinner and never disappointed. Shrimp and grits are killer, pork chop with the mashed potatoes and carrots is huge, as are the crab cakes. Always get the wedge salad which is a nice balance of the wedge, tomatoes, and house made dressing. House made ice cream, bread pudding never disappoint. Char-grilled oysters were flavorful and fantastic. Toasted bread on the side soaks up all the yummy juices. (Bonus: one of my oysters had a pearl in it.) Gumbo was spicy and rich, and the cheese plate came with three cheeses plus yummies like pickled onions, blackberries and candied nuts. The standout was the Chicken jambalaya entree with it's perfectly seasoned, crispy skin topping a plate of well-seasoned rice. The Berkshire porkchop came medium rare and juicy and looked amazing. Would definitely return when I'm ever back in Tulsa. Only nitpicky thing was that my rioja was served chilled, which wasn't terrible but just wasn't what I expected. read more

The restaurant is not very big either, so seating is an issue. Wait times are long during dinner hours, and once you are seated, it feels as if you are a part of the other party's conversation. The main reason for the three stars is because they changed one of my favorite entrées. I always ordered the Grilled sea scallops. I ordered it last Saturday and instead of the mushroom topped with goat cheese that comes with the scallops. They had replaced with a tomato and blue cheese. I was so upset! The server told me that they had a new chef or something. I don't know why they changed it but I really do hope they change it back. I did not like it all. But our server was great and she was very attentive. It only I could remember her nam Update! The server never told me that the menu changed each season. It's unfortunate because the "summer Grilled scallops" version is nasty and cheap. I also forgot to mention that every time we visit we order oysters and they are always dirty. Went for the first time for Sunday brunch with some friends... I was able to park in a lot (without having to worry I'd be towed or ticketed) and walk over in no time. Perusing the menu, I was a little underwhelmed with the selection of food since it was only for brunch. Also, I don't normally eat creole food that often so it was quite difficult to choose something that I thought I'd enjoy. However! Two items that caught my eye were the Waffle and Eggs Nola. I wanted something sweet... but also savoury. In the end, Eggs Nola was ordered and let me tell you... definitely was not disappointed with this choice. It did take some time to come to me, but whatever. It was worth the wait. One of the best things about the dish is the crispy diced potatoes! It comes with a small saucer of ketchup to dip with. The eggs/crab cake sit on spinach and asparagus, which was cooked perfectly, and were soooo delicious. I really am not a fan of spicy food but the jalapeno hollandaise sauce was delightful. If I were to be put on death row tomorrow and had to choose my last meal, this would make it on the list of top considerations. It might not be the one I'd choose BUT it is a great contender. Yeah, it was that good. I always walk by this place when I go to R bar and always wondered what it was all about, but never gave it a chance. One day waking up early on a Sunday I really wanted to go to brunch and this place popped up. Looking at the information on yelp I couldn't even remember where it was located. I guess I didn't pay as much attention as I thought when I was around this area. I had to go to lulu lemon anyways, which is across the street, and figured why not stop and get a bite to eat. Walking in we saw that there was a nice patio section and also a nice area to sit inside. Tulsa is way too hot for me most of the year so we sat inside at a table near the window. The tables are closer than I would like them to be, but it did not bother me too much. I noticed that they also had a bar area with a TV and it would be a nice place to get drinks another time as well. Looking at the menu, I loved that they had pitchers of mimosas and also a brunch menu that was not all breakfast foods. We ordered 2 flavors of mimosas, the pomegranate and pineapple since we were trying to stay away from the standard orange. We loved them both! The Pineapple was probably my favorite, and for the price you pay per pitcher you almost need to try more than one flavor. The drinks were really what won me over and I wish I had the time to go back every weekend! When it came to the food we each got a different dish so we could see what it was all about. This was the FIRST time I tried chicken and waffles, and I cannot say I am obsessed but this place made them pretty good. I love that it was not overly a sweet and the syrup had a spicy kick to it. The waffle was light and the chicken was not soggy or greasy. LOVED it for what it was. My boyfriend got the hangover burger or some version of it where they put an egg on it for you. I thought it was very good. I wish I would have gotten it as well, but I guess there is always next time! I would like to try their salad and seafood dishes next time I am here. For the first time being here it won me over and I plan on coming back. I also would like to go back here for dinner or lunch just to see what the other foods are like. Gumbo very tasty, fresh ingredients-layered to the spoon touch You get to mix/stir the rice on bottom with the gumbo-thick. A zing after each bite that stays at the back of your throat. Love it. Will probably get a bowl next time. Chunks of sausage and shrimp. Got to have crackers on table next time. Pears add a nice touch to the salad and is a compliment to the goat cheese and bacon. Chicken and waffles was a recommendation and it was a poor one. Eggo waffles are better than what came out and the chicken could have been McDonald's chicken strips. A beer, a mimosa and 3 brunch entrees (veggie omelette, chicken and waffles, and a breakfast plate) came to $65 before tip. What a hidden gem on Brookside! We knew they had a smaller dining room so we planned ahead and made a reservation on a Friday night and were sat right away once we arrived. Received quick and efficient service which quite set us up for a lovely evening with friends! We all adored the food we were served which almost silenced conversation until most was consumed! Great place, I've been here once before and the service seems to be consistent-outstanding! I was at an open house and decided to grab a quick lunch. I had the Doc's Caesar salad which was amazing. Not like any other Caesar salad I've had and that's a good thing in this case! I needed some oysters to compliment my salad which were right on time. I got a dozen of Docs chargrilled oysters which come with Parmesan cheese on top. A must try if you decide to give Docs a try. I sat at the bar, Shannon was great and attentive, made sure my salad came out before my oysters even though I ordered those first. It's not everyday I'm in Brookside but if you're in the neighborhood do give this place a try for a nice lunch.
