Very unfriendly staff. Will not be back. Was unfairly treated and did not appreciate it.

BEST PLACE TO EAT IN LUBBOCK!! Dirks only serves chicken for a reason, cause it's amazing. The chickens delicious, the sides are to die for and the drinks are good as well. Every time my parents come to visit me we go here! 11/10 recommend! read more

Outstanding Nashville Chicken with local artsy scene. Only complaint I have is the oysters on the half shell were a little dirty but that happens sometime. The staff was super friendly and checked on us regularly. Was very impressed with everything. read more

The chicken strips were the best thing Ive ever eaten, better than Canes! The service from Kennedy Gonzalez was impeccable and she had a great conversation with us while also being efficient and on time. She made it a good experience and I would ask for her if you can! Love Dirks! read more

I love the Nashville Hot Chicken! The grits are also a huge winner in my book. Cocktails are good as well. This place would get five stars from me based on the food alone but the customer service is lacking so it's just four stars. Dinner service & wait staff are fine but the restaurant makes you use their online ordering service when ordering to go. In my expereince, the online ordering is broken about half the time. If you call to make an order, they will probably not answer the phone (forcing you to drive up and order and wait in your car or at the bar). If they do answer the phone, you get pushback and they tell you they only take online orders until you tell them the ordering system is down. One time I walked into place an order for food at the bar and the bartender told me I had to order online. Guess what? The online service was down. I'm suprised they don't make the guests sitting and dining at their tables order food online. read more

Hands down best chicken I've ever had! Never disappoints any time that I've been. Great drinks as well, if you go for brunch get the morning mule!!! Nashville Hot chicken is the best thing on the menu in my opinion. Fried Okra is the best side! read more

Dirks is the best restaurant in Lubbock. Bekah is the best bartender in town. what a rockstar! read more

The Korean fried chicken was awesome I have to go here again the service was amazing too!

Great atmosphere! Great food- I can feel the South coming through. Parking is easy!!!

Let's just say if you're looking for the best fried chicken in town this place has taken the number one spot. I had the Nashville hot chicken and it was absolutely delicious. Gumbo was tasty and the collards were alright. Nice environment and from the looks of it plenty of tasty cocktails. Definitely stop by and give this place a try you will not be disappointed. read more

You did Good!!! One of Lubbock's newest staples- great food, great drinks, great vibe. Order the chicken friend steak (steak fingers), the fried okra and you will be coming back weekly! I promise!! And....the gravy and homemade ranch- wow!! I've heard great things about the fried chicken as well and now they've added a child's menu. You are a regular on our rotation! read more

The spicy chicken and their mashed potatoes are life changing. But you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Cocktails were really well made. The service was just okay, but the food makes up for it. We asked our waitress if we could speak with the manager about a possible catering idea for our wedding and the manager never made time to come talk to us. Our waitress just had us call the next day and we did. They told us the manager would call us back, and never did. Great food, hopefully they stick around despite the service issues. I definitely plan on going back despite the issue read more

Love all the chicken, Chicken fried steak strips, and the fried okra. Margaritas are good with the right bartender. Can be a little loud because of acoustics but worth it for the food and atmosphere of all Dirk West's drawings. read more

Asked the owner if there was anyway we could move two tables together. We had been waiting a while and even called ahead. She bit our heads off. I was shocked because we were not being rude, just asked a simple question. I heard they have great chicken but we left. I wont be back. read more

Dirk’s - Chicken tenders - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

Came here with a few people, so we all kind of shared each other's dishes. Super random but simple food menu. Not a whole lot of details so not totally sure all of what you are ordering. Recommend the oysters to start with. There were probably the best in town. I got the shrimp and grits. Was not expecting a tomatoe sause but still alright the grits where definitely the star of that dish. The roasted chicken was amazing as was the chicken fried steak fingers. As for sides the stars were the okra and the gumbo. Drink menu was very awesome all the drinks we had were classy and delicious. read more

This was my first visit to Dirks. I came here because of a recommendation from a server at another restaurant in the downtown area. The chicken and the greens were excellent and the bartender pours a decent drink. It's not fancy but it is a nice pub with good food. I will be back to try some other menu options. read more

Okay I have always wanted to try it but my husband isn't a chicken person . Well today I convinced him . We will definitely be back . He had the chicken fried steak ( steak fingers) with mashed potatoes and corn . I had the chicken strips , corn and fries . Love all the sauces that came with the chicken strips . We have no complaints . I have seen some complaints about rude employees ( did not encounter one rude person ) I also saw complaints about the noise . We went Saturday at lunch and they were busy and it is noisy but it is no reason not to try this place. Will definitely be back . read more

Such a fun environment!!! Always a blast at Dirks, the servers a great and present. My server Kaylee was second to none in the service I've received and highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill spot! read more

Terrible service was told "we could leave" by three different people. I was confused and shocked why they treated us this way after I had heard great reviews. We arrived at 6:30 and still were not served by 9pm. They have good front line employees but their management was shockingly rude. I will never be back and have thirty years hospitality experience. I have never written a bad review about any establishment. Made me very sad to post this. Not a good experience. read more

I went to Dirk's this past weekend and heard great things and was excited to try it. Sadly when we got there we waited an hour and a half for a table. When we were finally seated we had to wait 30-45 minutes for food we never got. We never got it because the manager and head chef (who is the owner) were absolutely so rude to me, my mom, my friends, and their moms. I went up to the manager at one point and said "sorry to bother you I was just wondering how much longer till we get our food?" She replied with "it's coming I'm trying to get y'all out of here as fast as possible". Later I was tired of waiting and came back to my table and said I think we should just leave. The chef came over and said "yeah I have no problem with y'all leaving just get up and go". I'm and a Texas Tech student studying Restaurant and Hotel Management and hospitality. So from my perspective which is one that if you work in a restaurant you must always give the best customer service even if you don't like your table and any troubles in life get dropped at the front door. Apparently the owner/chef and manager don't abide by this standard and it's upsetting to see what could be a great restaurant ruined by the people in charge. I will say our waitress was very sweet and apologized for what happened but nor the chef or manager apologized. read more

We stopped by Dirks after Tech football game. Place was busy. Service was great and and everyone was friendly! Husband had rotisserie chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. All delicious! I had the two piece bone in fried chicken. I actually received 4 pieces as they were small. Disappointed with seasoning on chicken as there seemed to be none. I did see some salt on one piece. I got the gumbo as a side. Which was pretty good. The roux was a little too far gone so it was a little bitter but I ate it all. Loved my other side, the Maque Choux (Cajun corn)! We would go back for sure! read more

Man oh man!! Great. Food is stellar. Service is VERY good too. Cool place, if you remember much of the Dirk West days doing the sports cartoon. Lots of his stuff decorating the place. Will be back very soon. read more

We tried Dirks recently and while there were many positives, the service we received from a grumpy waitress and the noise made a good meal not so fun. The food was delicious, especially shrimp and grits. The mixed drinks were very good. However, we couldn't hear each other's conversations over the noise. I doubt we will go again, unless at a really slow time. However, if you like a lively atmosphere, it might be for you. read more

Good to excellent food. Service on par. Extremely noisy!! Menu is chicken or chicken or chicken.

Drove 15 minutes across town to sit down at the bar and drink a beer and order To-go at 8 o clock just to be turned away because the "chef doesn't do to go after 5 o clock". I could completely understand if the place was busy, but there was only 2 other people even sitting at the bar. The older male bartender with glasses was rude on top of all else. As much as I loved eating here before I will never be back. read more

Chicken is really good. Service is really bad. Hostess was extremely rude. I understand being busy and stressed, but we were told 1hr wait for table of 6, when we inquired about our table after an hour and 45 minutes we were rudely told to wait outside in the 55 degree drizzle. read more

Stopped in for a date night with my wife, this place was awesome! The chicken was top tier, the gumbo was the best I have had in Texas by a long shot. The place was packed and bustling with energy on a Thursday night. If you want a quiet romantic spot, maybe don't go here. But if you want to have a great time and eat some great food in an upbeat environment, this is place to go. read more

If you live or visit Lubbock, do yourself a favor and go here! Their crispy fried chicken on the bone was tremendous. Perfectly crispy, flavorful and salted well. Definitely recommend! read more

Love their food! But they have to figure out how to seat people. Table for 6 at 5pm and had to wait more than 2 hours. Fried chicken is good but it's not that good. read more

This place is FREAKING AMAZING! I am a pretty tough critic when it comes to food and service. Dirk's absolutely hit it out of the park. Not only was the quality of food top notch, but the service was astounding. This will be my new regular eats. GREAT WORK DIRK'S, GREAT WORK!!! read more

THE place to get my fix for Nashville hot chicken in Lubbock. Awesome flavor! Love all the sides I've tried so far and cant go wrong with anything you order from the menu read more

Dirk's is delicious. Menu is small but they pretty much nail every dish, bar spirits and service is top notch. I've seen a lot of bad reviews because of the wait time, rudeness etc. People need to understand, in Lubbock on a Fri or Sat night, you are going to wait for a table if they don't take reservations and you show up after 6/6:30. You'll wait at least 45mins to and 1.5 hours. Everyone is doing their best and I've seen people be rude to their staff while I've waited, really rude. I think people have unrealistic expectations with restaurants that don't take reservations, if it's good, prepare to wait. Food is good, it's fun, go there, get on the list, go to the cotton court and have a drink and head back when they call you that your table is ready. If the wait is too long, go to the Double Tree to eat at their new restaurant or Cotton Court. Settle down people. read more
