First time here, came because it was recommended as a good Mom & Pop place to get the best burger in town. I was surprised to see a drive through, that was a nice convenience! The girl who took my order, was definitely in a rush, even though there was no line or crowd at all so thumbs down for Customer Service. I ordered a Jumbo Bacon Burger, and an order of deep fried pickles. The Burger was terrible, bun was all squished & smashed together and WET and SOGGY! The ONLY thing that even looked semi fresh was the tomato everything else looked like it was pulled from the garbage. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. Deep fried pickles were good but Burger & lack of Customer Service, ruined what could've been a nice experience. I feel bad for the owner, he or she probably doesn't know what a disservice their staff is doing to their business. read more

This place charged 50 bucks for two meals and four soft drinks when we ordered four meals and four soft drinks. These people are shisty. Would not recommend! read more

Jumbo Joe's - Their sign makes it look like it's a chicken fried steak and 32 ounce drink for 1.83. - Burgers Near Me - Lubbock, Texas

Love their burgers, but the chicken fried steak was lacking! It was the smallest cfs I've ever had! Not worth the money.

We get the jumbo burgers regularly- at least once a week! Always good! And the best ice in town haha!

The food was good and service, but the owner is very rude to his employees. I wouldn't take his bullying. The lady was very nice.

Friendly atmosphere with good service. Everything is made to order so your food will be fresh and hot.

Good food and great service. Very friendly staff. The food comes out quick and they bring it to your table. Very casual feel. read more

The food was so good. Just like I remembered from years ago when I lived in the area. We were staying in Lubbock for a few days and I remembered Jumbo Joes. Reading the reviews I was scared to give it a try. I'm so glad we went. Burger was thick and juicy. Green chile was great added to my burger. The fam said their frito pie was really good too. The Frito pie was a huge portion too. The fried pickle sticks were great too. My daughter said they were the bomb. The service was quick and everyone we interacted with was friendly. I will definitely return and recommend. Prices were reasonable too. I are my burger before I took pics though; Maybe next time! read more

Fries were very bland, no seasoning at all. Burger was mid, should've just gone to Whataburger

Friendly service, really good food and great prices. They have one of the best Philly sandwiches around. Will definitely go back.

This is a regular stop when we come to Lubbock. Love their burgers! Great customer service and decent pricing.

Me and my husband had the catfish. And it was amazing. I wish they had hush puppies though. Service was fast and pleasant. Quiet little place to enjoy the food. read more

Jumbo Joe's on 4th and Indiana has lost my business permanently! They overcharged the price of the burger from what was displayed on the drive-thru board by at least $1.00. The manager said that they just haven't had time to change the price yet and I said that's no excuse and it's not the customer's fault. Then I get home and their is no bacon on my burger that I paid $2.00 extra for. She interrupted me by saying that she made my burger herself and that she put bacon on it. I said no ma'am there is no bacon. I got onions on it instead. She continued to argue with me. I said I'll take a pic and show you. Does this look like bacon? What the hell is wrong with these people today when it comes to customer service? Zero stars!!!! read more

I love their burgers. They have the most disrespectful people working the windows They do not have manners and are always so rude. i use to know the owner I wish I could talk to him. Because they can kill his business at least I won't be going back. I placed my order online and I pulled up 2 mins early and the girl goes we don't have your order. I said it cleared my bank and in her rude voice she said well we just got it. Pull over there and I'll call your name. She didn't apologize or nothing. Well to turn things around this new girl gave me my order and she was nice and kind. I hope the others do not corrupt her. She even apologized for my order not being read. read more

Don't go for the catfish. Too much breading, not well seasoned, and pricey. Got fried okra as a side. Was not told that it would cost more for that. Side salad that comes with it was a bit sad. Cheese was melting on it and they put pickle on the salad. Weird! Ordered a medium drink but was not told until after I bought it that the bigger size (large) was on a special and therefore cheaper! Won't go back. read more

Big flavorful burgers, in my opinion better than chain burgers. This spot was recommended by locals and it was definitely worth a visit. We got two cheeseburger meals one with tots and one with tots with cheese. The kool-aid, a perfect addition. The burgers were big and juicy. The tater tots were cooked perfectly crispy. The portions were great for the money. The tater tots with cheese not so great maybe they microwave the cheese on after the tots are cooked. Overall I'm sticking to the consensus, visit this place. read more

Terrible customer service , I didn't relies a salad came with order untill I relook called back in a min once to cancel big salad I ordered , I ordered a garden salad , whoever answered the phone was rude she said chef I said no I ordered a garden salad , then cuts me off & said ham & everything before I could even get the word no out she said exactly . A favorite lunch spot for a burger and they seriously have THE BEST tater tots in town! #eatlocal

A Lubbock staple? Maybe. A catchy name? Yes. I've been curious about this place for quite sometime now, and after being on a 3 week burger hiatus, what a better time and place to break the burger fast. I stopped by here after work close to 9:15pm on a Tuesday night. I have noticed the Joe's Mart next to it and have decided that they are probably in cahoots. I was tempted to make a left turn onto Indiana and drive thru the mart parking but decided to wait for the light and not be caught having to make some driving adjustments due to non-access. The parking was rather strange and kind of difficult to approach coming from the west side of 4th street; I was able to maneuver right in front of their door. At this time I saw a rather buxom Latina beauty mopping the floor and I hoped the lobby was not closed. I figured if she was a decent person, she would wave me away to go thru the drive thru or that they were closed. I walked in and looked at the menu. I fought my urge to splurge and get a monster burger and just opted for the jumbo with cheese. I was slightly shocked with the price, around $8.60, I guess the spicy fries cost more and I knew the cheese is usually a premium as well. But I usually get a double at whataburger for this price. After watching the yellow picture on the flat screen TV and checking out all of the Bud Light model chicas plastered on the windows, my burger finally arrived. The configuration of my burger was misconstrued, but I am not so picky but prefer that it be made a certain way, maybe this killed the taste which was definitely lacking here. The bun was toasted to near perfection: crispy and golden on the inside. The meat was actually pretty large, a whopping 8oz of beef. Wow, half a pound! Too bad the meat had been cooked without seasoning or very little seasoning. The vegetables were fresh and delicious and very appealing the the eye. The fries were very hot and once they cooled down, very flavorful with ketchup. I might stop back by after I try the new next door competition from out of town. I just have to remember to season the burger myself or ask to have it seasoned while it cooks. read more

I ordered a spicy fry and have been waiting for almost 30 minutes. The food is overpriced. The only thing good about this place is the Ice... not a good experience ordering food. Didnt want to waste 30 minutes on some fries. read more

Jumbo Joes is good food but nothing sets it apart from any other random burger joint. This spot is a great location for the (TTU) medical district and not a bad drive from downtown. The food comes out pretty quick but listen close for your number, it can sometimes be pretty difficult to understand what is being said. read more

Food was ok but they got the order wrong and didn't want to fix it. So I would say no customer service.

I have been passing this place for a while so I finally decided to give it a shot. Being Friday during Lent I went for the Fish Dinner which included 3 catfish fillets, fries, toast and salad. The catfish and toast were excellent. Very crispy fried fish. The fries were not good which worked for me to not eat them. The salad was simple but the Ranch dressing tasted store bough which I hate. It only took about 5 minutes to wait for the meal. read more

So I stopped and cuz well I'm fat so I love cheeseburgers first time here lady really didn't have any suggestions. Ended up ordering a mushroom and onion burger with Swiss cheese and bacon medium drink and onion ring then, was told to park my car they would call me over the intercom which for me is very weird being that I pulled into what looks like a drive-thru window maybe that's their custom that's the way they run things I'm not a local I just live here and being that it was my first time stopping I guess it is what it. For this one combo I spent about $13 and change kind of pricey given I can get a slightly bigger combo from heff's for couple bucks cheaper. Burger was good but unremarkable. Toppings were less than plentiful most of the grilled onions that I had ordered for fell off into the wrapper before I ever got the burger into my mouth. Not to be anal retentive but pretty sure I call counted somewhere near six or seven mushrooms. Don't want to say they were but the burger reminded me of a freezer Burger. The onion rings were okay they were freezer to fryer batter-dipped and taste it like maybe the oil need it changed out in the. Coke straight off the tap was flat before I ever park my car. I get the point of a burger joint that's right off campus and happens to be a local staple unfortunately local Staples tend to drop their standards from time to time because they have a standing in the community. Obviously I'm not completely crapping on the place as the food did taste decent and this was my first visit maybe I caught him on a downstroke. I gave them a 3 because while the price was kind of high is my first visit and maybe next time I show up they'll be a different cook in the kitchen things will taste it a little bit better. And while I'm not terribly satisfied with my first visit here I may make a second trip. Unless the owner of Heffs gets his campus side Restaurant open soon read more

I'm a fish-eating ovo-lacto vegetarian, or a pescatarian. Therefore I'm pretty familiar with the overall quality of fried fish dinners available in Lubbock. As you've already gathered by the one-star rating, Jumbo Joe's catfish dinner is a contender for the worst in town. It was a festering, putrid and rancid smelling/tasting disaster. (I guess the fries and toast were okay). I brought this meal into my house, ate one of the pieces and then had to walk the fish box out to the garbage outside because it stank of a sun-bloated dead fish carcass and burnt oil. A disgusting and persistent stench remained behind, however. The awfulness of it is somewhat ironic since the catfish dinner is featured on Jumbo Joe's sign in big letters out in front of the restaurant. It ought to contain a Surgeon General's warning instead of an enticement to purchase it. read more

One of the best chicken fried steaks in the city. I suggest having it w/the mashed potatoes and salad.

Went to the restroom and came back and my tea was thrown away. The lady told me I had to pay for another one after ordering two combos. Absolutely ridiculous! It's TEA!!!!!!!!! Where is your customer service? I wish I could leave less than one star. I will never go back to this place for this reason only. Cheap people and cheap service. read more

Consistently delicious...most underrated burgers in town. Staff is friendly and their combos are a steal. This is a regular stop for us!

The Smallest over priced "Jumbo burger" I've had in Lubbock so far with the worst service imaginable.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE IT WAS A WAIST OF CASH .. I live 5mins away but will never go back and would rather drive to the other side of town than go back to this place read more

After the lady lounging in a booth and a guy in the back decided which one of them would take my order, I ordered a chicken sandwhich. The gentleman looked back at the price and then proceeded to charge me a dollar more than what the price listed. I was taken aback and wondered did they raise their prices. However I didn't say anything(Which was my own fault). The total with fries and a drink came out to be $9. I don't think I'll ever pay that much for a fastfood chicken sandwhich meal again. Overall the chicken sandwhich was okay. And some of the other workers were funny and kind. Unless you have nostalgia with this place. I'd get a burger/chicken sandwhich somewhere else. read more

The burgers are pretty darn good. And fries are decent as well. However, the atmosphere is kind of lacking and I sometimes feel a little uncomfortable eating inside the restaurant ( i just feel out of place). Definitely a better choice then spankys! read more

We absolutely love the Jumbo Joes in Plainview so we figured we would try the one on 4th street. The food was just okay... Nothing like the one in Plainview. We always stop and get a cherry limeade well unfortunately my 6 year old pulls out the lime and it still has the sticker on it. If you wash fruits and vegatables wouldn't you make sure the sticker was off of it? Especially if you run a business? So I'm guessing theirs aren't washed which is disgusting especially knowing my child drank from this cup. read more
