We were in town visiting family for a Trade School graduation when we stumbled upon this super cute…read morespeakeasy! Apparently, it's "the only speakeasy in Lubbock," and being attached to an Italian restaurant, we thought it would be a SUPER fun way to celebrate! The vibe inside was dark, mysterious, and very 1920s-era-inspired. We could see musicians setting up to play during our visit, but unfortunately, we didn't have the privilege of sticking around long enough to hear them. Maybe next time! My first drink of the evening was the Forbidden Fruit, and it was absolutely PERFECT! Such a great combination of tart and sweet, with just the right amount of alcohol. You could definitely taste it, but it wasn't overpowering. Delish! My second drink was the Empress Sour, which was good, but didn't quite steal the show like the Forbidden Fruit. I also snuck a taste of my husband's Smoked Old Fashioned, and WOW! That was heavenly as well! While enjoying our beverages, we ordered the Pretzel Charcuterie Plate, and that pretzel was a GINORMOUS hit at the table (literally)! Being gluten-free, I stuck to the cheese, meats, fruit, and nuts and was one happy camper! Our waitress was an absolute doll and did a wonderful job helping steer us toward a fun and delicious evening! Such a fun, unique spot to celebrate a special occasion! Thanks for helping make our evening memorable! Cheers!

What an absolutely great experience, especially as a solo diner! I sat at a table for one and my waitress was attentive, helpful, and gave wonderful recommendations. Chips and salsa were great; salsa was nothing mind blowing but the chips were HOT and salty. So good! The baby romaine Caeser was small and delicious! Perfect as a side. Brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had: crispy, salty, perfectly fried! The lemon garlic aioli with it was creamy and balanced out the fried. The Peruvian chicken was a 10/10 winner. Would get this every single time!! I was so full by the end of all of this but absolutely need to try dessert. The seasonal apple tart was sooooo good. Light, fresh, slightly creamy from the sauce. So good, would recommend getting it while it's on the menu! If you're in Lubbock, you have to go out and try La Sirena! I'll be missing it until I'm in town again :)

I was out having a beautiful night with my girlfriend. Life feels special when I get to spend time…read morewith her. As we were leaving our very special dinner date, we were driving through downtown Lubbock off Broadway when a place we had never seen before passed by the car window. In perfect unison and harmony, she and I said, "What place is that? Narrow Bar?" We had never seen it before. Was it new? Were we just blind all this time? Narrow Bar has been around. We truly have been blind all this time. Through my four years of college and then some, I had never heard of it. Tonight would change that. As I reached Avenue Q, we turned around to investigate. Narrow Bar is attached to the Wells Fargo building with, shockingly, a narrow indoor bar. The outside is what grabbed our attention: an expansive patio filled with a live music trio and young adults casually having a great time. Was this bar one of Lubbock's best-kept secrets? Having had a few drinks already, we agreed on a one-and-done experience to try this place out. We were handed an expansive drink menu listing four categories: classic cocktails, contemporary cocktails, signature cocktails, and mocktails. I immediately eyed one of my favorite cocktails, a Carajillo, while my girlfriend yearned for the IYKYK (a Porn Star Martini). Our server took our order, and it wasn't long before our drinks reached the table. My Carajillo came with one of those big ice cubes (an actual cube), which was awesome, and the drink itself was really well done. Their espresso cold brew gave it a strong coffee profile that wasn't as sharp as other Carajillos I've had, which I think benefited the drink, especially being mixed with the slightly citrusy Licor 43. As for my girlfriend, she was really excited for her martini and adored it, notably because it came with prosecco. The space is really nice on a cool Lubbock night as it faces the street of downtown Lubbock. The band playing was not a cheesy bar band but actually quite good, pulling some deeper tracks out of their hat, including "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The lead vocalist had this Steve Miller vocal inflection going on, so I requested any Steve Miller song, and we got the always enjoyable "Fly Like an Eagle." They had no tip jar sadly, but my hat goes off to you guys. It was a short experience, but a great impression enough to make us know we're coming back the next time I visit her in Lubbock. The interior decor is outstanding, but that is the only good thing about this place…read more We ordered the Burrata appetizer with focaccia, burrata and balsamic, grapes and Marcona almonds. The focaccia was very nice and airy, as it should be. The burrata was much to be desired. It was served in a bowl and served very cold. The burrata was not room temp, as it should be to showcase its consistency and softness. The bowl made it very hard to get to the burrata and the presentation was lacking because it was in a deep bowl. It was also served with no spoon, so we had to knife it. Just like the knife in my Italian heart. Good thing was the almonds and grapes were good. Next, the Arancini apertivo. Another flop. These things were as small as ping pong balls. When you cut them, they looked like raw ground beef instead of seeing the beautiful, fluffy risotto, as it should have been. You can tell these are not fresh or house-made because there is absolutely no risotto on the menu. Arancinis are made to use leftover risotto, so these are very fake. The crispy provolone topping tasted like sand. Third, soup du jour. We asked for the chicken gnocchi. It was pretty ok, but didn't have any chicken or gnocchi! So, basically a creamed spinach soup. We let the server know and she said the morning prep staff didnt put either ingredient in the soup. So, why serve it and why call it chicken gnocchi when it has neither? I assume the day's customer base wasn't the wiser. Fortunately for me, I owned an Italian restaurant and know better. Thankfully, the server removed the item from our bill. Finally, the pasta course. Immediately, it is evident that it is store bought, dehydrated, and nutrient-deficient pasta. We ordered the cacio e pepe and hardly any pepper was on it. It is in the name, "pepe", but like the soup, it wasn't complete. We got a pepper mill, and no pepper in it. The pasta was mediocre, had no taste, and desperately needed pasta water to bind the sauce with the dish. Again, a serious sign that it is not real Italian food that is made well and correctly. Our server was nice, but only visited the table every 20-30 minutes, which made the meal long, tedious, and laborious. We were there almost 2.5 hours. Ugh We were so ready to leave. Kind of a wasted evening. If you're looking for a beautiful place to dine, this is it. If you want a beautifully, well-executed Italian meal, this is absolutely not it. Also, please put some music on and clean the ventilation system in the bathroom. I got an allergy attack from all the dust.

The croquettes were excellent, and the berry sauce added a bright, tangy complement that really elevated the dish. For our entrees, we had the teriyaki ribeye with flavorful mushroom fried rice, as well as the swordfish, served with perfectly executed risotto and roasted vegetables. I like my ribeye cooked rare, but with the fat properly rendered, so I ordered it rare+, and it was executed perfectly. The swordfish was equally impressive, beautifully cooked and paired wonderfully with the risotto and vegetables. Our server, Saidie, was outstanding and made an already great meal even more enjoyable. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We highly recommend The West Table and will definitely be back.

We ordered three appetizers and were not wowed by any of them! Most dishes completely lacked any seasoning! I rarely add last to my food but the fried green tomatoes badly need them as they lacked flavor and the tomato was very hard to eat! The goat cheese croquettes were fine but the shishito peppers could have also done with some salt. We also ordered salads and waited a very long time for them - to be fair I think the server was waiting for us to finish our apps which we did not do so we stacked the plates at the end of the table which worked! Bizarrely the salads had no dressing!! Mine was a beet salad which was great and did not need any but my friend had a house salad which absolutely needed dressing which they kindly bought when requested! It's cool looking place and our server was lovely but the food needed a little work!

When we walked in on May 19, 2026, the place was not too busy at around noon. Right away I noticed low lighting. Cool alternative, rock, and old R&B music playing in the background. A full bar. Pinball machines for tables. Lots of nostalgia in this place! Restroom was mostly clean. The food was okay. I wish there was a bit more flavor to everything. My daughter agreed. + The Damned Dog ($11) "All beef frank, house beef chili, cheddar, diced onions, and jalapeno crispies." This was good but the frank and chili needed more flavor. I opted for a side of house-made vegan potato salad (additional $1.50) instead of potato chips which really good. + The Sourpuss ($12) "Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pickle slice, crushed salt & vinegar chips, and queso fresco." My daughter enjoyed this with ketchup and mustard added and a side of smoked gouda mac. That mac was very tasty. We also noticed how crisp and spicy our Sprite and Dr. Peppers were. Loved that. I'd definitely go back again for a drink and maybe a sandwich next time. Ample lot parking.
