I had a fabulous experience with Dircks!!! They handled a long distance move for me where I wasn't even present for the loading of the contents. The cross country driver Mark took extra care & caution when loading things that my OTHER movers didn't pack right or at all. Moving into your new home should be an exciting, fun time, right? Unfortunately, for my fiancé, I, and our six-month-old daughter this dream became a nightmare. My fiancé was at work, so I oversaw the movers; I facilitated the move so everything went as planned. Although the movers arrived during the "time slot" for pick up, things quickly went wrong at drop off. Richard S., Alberto R., and Daniel were very helpful in the beginning of the move; little did I know they would be stealing right under my nose. To start, they arrived at the new house for delivery an hour and fifteen minutes AFTER the designated meet time. With moving comes open doors and open garages to make sure all items are properly placed. These men took FULL advantage of that "open door" policy. During the move, Richard S., Alberto R., and Daniel decided to go through personal boxes, that were transported by myself (for this purpose), to the house while I was moving throughout the house. Once I noticed items on the top of the box, that I transported here myself, were no longer how I placed them, I continued my search through the box. I first noticed that my credit cards were out of place and one was missing, as well as, diamond earrings, Tiffany's gold ring, and Gucci sunglasses were missing; I then immediately called the local police. When confronted, Richard, Alberto, and Daniel were not cooperative and aggressive. How is it fair to me that during this move these men felt the need to take from us? No woman that is in charge of moving, ever, should feel victimized in their own house. Knowing that these men had the audacity to steal from my family sickens me. As we are slowly unpacking our belongings, we are finding more things are coming up missing that were packed, securely. This means the men not only went through the belongings that I transported to the house, but they opened and went through boxes that were transported by them on their truck and stole several other valuable items from us including Ray Ban sunglasses, check books, expensive perfumes, etc. Furthermore, looking at our NEWLY painted walls, in our NEW BUILD, there are multiple scuff marks throughout the stairs hallway and into the open loft area of our brand new two-story house. We have pictures to document the lack of care that these men took during the move. Clearly, they didn't take care of the property as they claim to do. If I could leave you with anything, it is to just BEWARE of DIRCKS MOVING AND LOGISTICS and after this review if you still choose to use them, make sure you have enough people to babysit the transport and each one of their workers through your move since the workers cannot be trusted. read more

We just made a big move, and Dircks was phenomenal every step of the way. Steve was our point-of-contact and he was extremely professional and helpful. Sara was our move coordinator, and she was responsive to our every need and question. Finally, the moving team were a most wonderful trio - one of them even took an extra moment to fix a piece of furniture of mine that was broken before the move. Speaking of broken, absolutely nothing was during the move. My biggest fear was that some of my items might be damaged in transit, but not a single one was. DO NOT TRUST THEM. I went with Dircks as they were a preferred vendor for the company moving me and local on the delivery end of a cross country move that had availability during the time I needed to move. The problem is, once you choose a moving company there's no going back if you actually want to arrive at your destination within a certain timeframe. Once the move was scheduled, I might as well have been non existent as a customer. Lack of communication, wrong delivery information, and ultimately missing items including large pieces of furniture and several boxes of dishes just disappeared. (I have since discovered that this is a common occurrence for this company, just enough stuff "falls off" the truck to make it the equivalent of a small court claim and therefore almost impossible to pursue). As expected, after 6 months of reaching out and waiting for responses, my claim was denied by the carrier stating I "waived" my right to file a claim by allowing the driver to leave the premises PRIOR to checking every single box and item that was shipped. Right, I am going to check 200 boxes at 8pm after driving for 36 hours. I called Dirck's on the day of my delivery and they stated that I could allow the moving team to leave, as long as I didn't "check a box"on the form indicating that everything was received, I had 90 days to file a claim. It's not over Dirck's. I will continue to appeal. I'm tired of company's saying whatever they want to get your business and then failing miserably with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. And don't bother responding to this post with your meaningless, "oops we are so sorry you had a bad experience" canned rebuttal. Because you are not sorry, or you would not treat customer's like this in the first place. I understand that we are human, and mistakes happen, but nothing about this experience was "a mistake" just profound negligence and underhanded business practices, and that's not okay. read more

ABCD Anybody But incompetent Dircks for moving anything more than an inch. Contracted with them to move from AZ to Fl and it only took them 9 days to get here. Upon arrival, they only provided 3 people to unload an 18 wheeler of home goods. I worked with them for 5 hours and called to inform them of what is going on. The service/claims manager chuckled and said they had subbed it out and there was nothing they could do about it. We discussed it and then he offered me a $100 gift certificate on an over $20k move. Of the three guys that were unloading, one had his cell phone to his ear more than 50% of the time. Many pieces broken and some missing. Claim has been into their insurance company for more than 30 days. This was on a Saturday and they had to come back and finish the move on Monday. So 12 days to load, unload and place in our home. Do yourself a BIG favor and do not use this company as they had no time to hear my issue with their service and could not have cared about this once the payment was made. No follow up, no discount, no nothing. I worked for 5 hours and was laughed at. read more

When we decided to make a huge move to be closer to family I asked my husband "If you could have any mover you wanted to do this job, who would you choose?" And without a moments hesitation, he said, "Mayflower." I asked him why them and he said they were so kind and caring when he moved across the country to a new job by himself, just a few years before we met. I'm so glad I asked him because Dircks Mayflower is the best! From my first phone call, I found everyone I had contact with very helpful, kind, and courteous. They were very good at their jobs, from the Moving Consultant, to the Drivers, the packers, and the loaders; they are all professionals. We are in our late 60's and over the years, we've used small local movers as well as large nationwide movers, and in our experience, Dircks Mayflower has been "hands down" the very best! They loaded our house, casita, and garage on day one, and 3 storage units on day two. Everything arrived on time a few days later and we are very happy with the entire process, and especially the people who helped us. read more

People need to really pay attention to theft allegations with this company. After reading Jenni B. Review I had to laugh at Dircks response because they must have a form letter for their response to theft and damage claims, what a freakin joke. DO NOT waste your money on their so called insurance because it's just a scam and a way for them to make more money. They sold us this insurance and then when we filed the claim for all the stuff that was stolen, they said because they didn't pack it they weren't responsible for missing and broken items because it wasn't listed on the paperwork as damaged and we signed the paperwork. They should have never sold us the insurance because they knew they weren't packing anything, total scam. If you chose to use this company you better walk into their truck and make sure it is empty and I would refuse to sign the paperwork period until you unpack everything because they employee a bunch of thieves. read more

While it wasn't the worst move I had, the move left a lot to be desired. I went with Dirck's because I'd used them before and because of their reputation. I paid for Dirck's and didn't get it what I paid for. For instance, I wasn't told until the mover showed up, that Dirck's would outsource my move to another company - if I wanted that mover, I would have hired them! When I commented on this, I basically got a "we do this all the time..." Second, there was very little communication from my move coordinator - often, it was someone else calling and I had to initiate most of it. Third, while I won't say they lied outright, I was led to believe one thing regarding my move pricing - that the estimate was the maximum I would pay and they would refund any weight difference - not the case. So, if you hire Dirck's you may not get what you pay for, including Dirck's actually moving you. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could! We received a "free" local move with this company after selling our house through Offerpad. We scaled back on what we would have them move to make our out-of-pocket expense to a minimum. We had them move our larger furniture. When the movers showed up, we thought things would be okay as they got to work pretty quickly. After a few hours, it seemed as if they were TRYING to work as slowly as possible. The movers could not seem to figure out how to maneuver items to get them through doorways. One of the movers even moved a chair mat with the little spikes on the bottom through doorways without rolling it up with the spikes facing out, scratching doorways as he went. My husband heard the racket, and took it from him and rolled it up himself. I just kept looking at the clock, and thinking I could have done this faster with just my husband an me doing it. After about 5 hours to load up 4 couches, a bed, a desk, a couple cabinets, and 2 dining sets, they departed for our new house which was about 10 minutes away. My husband and I waited at the new house for an hour and a half for them to arrive! They offered no explanation for the delay. They got to work slowly unloading the truck. They were moving so slowly, my husband and I were moving and unwrapping things too. I honestly don't think they could have moved slower. When they FINALLY finished, we hastily signed the waiver that there was no damage. We couldn't even stand the sight of these guys, and wanted them out of our house! We later have found damage to our leather couch that makes it about worthless. I honestly have no idea how the gouges could have happened without them trying to damage it. We told them from the beginning that they had to be done by 4 so we could go to our closing appointment. Well, of course, they were not done, so we left them unattended in our home. We have not found anything to be missing, so I guess that's a good thing. They didn't steal from us. That is the ONLY positive thing I can say. If you are offered this "service" with Offerpad, steer clear. It is not worth the headache. read more

Don't use them! Dircks Moving & Storage led me to believe that I had purchased insurance for my belongings "full replacement cost value of $100,000" (less a $500 deductible) while my furniture was stored in their warehouse from May 2006 until April 2010 when it was delivered to me in Oakland from their facility in Phoenix. A $6000 rug was moth damaged and a $115 lampshade broken so I filed a claim. Dircks referred my claim to Wells Fargo insurance who first denied my claim based on "wear and tear" of the rug. No wear and tear was noted on the inventory form. When I said the damaged was most definitely moth damage that dead moths and larvae were viewed by the delivery people, the adjuster said she needed to find an appraiser in Oakland, California (where I now live). Later the adjuster consulted with Mark Hudson of Dircks who provided a Warehouse Receipt and Storage Contract that I signed on 5/16/06 (the day of the move, not during the meetings with the salesman who sold me $100,000 "valuation." My file from Dircks does not include a copy of this contract.) Apparently I had no actual insurance (only an agreement of valuation) so I wonder how the claim was first denied on the basis of "wear and tear" not being covered, and only then did they find the document that excluded moth damage and everything else. What document was Wells Fargo using before they received the governing document? (I have asked Wells Fargo Insurance for information about their relationship whether Dircks had insurance or were self-insured, but have receive no response to date.) The Warehouse Receipt and Storage Contract is an unconscionable contract. On the reverse side, it excludes almost every likely risk. The contract should be reviewed to determine if it is unjust or extremely one-sided in favor of the person who has the superior bargaining power, Dircks Moving & Storage. However, despite the despicable contract and other deceptive practices making me believe I had insurance when I only had an agreement of valuation, Dircks should not be allowed to escape their responsibility for negligence. The lampshades packed by Dircks did not have harps removed which caused damage to the lampshade packed inside another. All my other rugs were wrapped in paper and arrived without moth damage. The rug with the torn paper was moth eaten. Although Dircks has high profile clients giving testimonials on their website, Dircks has not lived up to its reputation. Actual insurance was never offered. There were only two choices on the storage contract: Valuation of 30 cents per pound; or " Full Value" which is meaningless since the small print on the back of the contract excludes every risk I can think of. Advising clients to obtain their own insurance instead of deceiving them into believing their "agreement of valuation" was insurance would have been a far better business practice. read more

Is there a negative 5 star option?! At first, we thought this move would be amazing based upon how smoothly the estimate process went. We got a great, competitive quote, and were excited to work with these guys. Unfortunately, it was all extremely downhill from there. First they dispatched a driver who only had enough room for slightlt less than 1/3 of our stuff. Then, they sent a team with a uhaul type truck to load the rest of our house, but they showed up just before the cleaners arrived. (That's 3 hours after they were supposed to be done!) The next day I was informed that the 2nd load items would be packed in a shopment container, and would arrive around the same time as the 1st load. Not ideal, but better than nothing, right? Wrong!! Our 1st load was delivered today, 7/13/14. Our 2nd load? Well, its back in Phoenix. When will it be delivered? Hopefully by 8/15/14...seriously?! They tried to make it better by accepting partial payment for the 1st load, and offered $100 per day for our stuff until it actually arrives. I guess we'll take it since that's the "best they can do" but we'd rather have our stuff, especially since ALL of our 1 yr olds stuff (clothes, crib, diapers, etc) are part of the 2nd load!! Long story short, the actual movers were PHENOMENAL, but Dircks/Mayflower are AWFUL! !!!! read more

I have used this company before and had great service. But this time my wife's engagement ring came up missing, found the open box that was removed from her purse on the kitchen counter. Dirks denies it. Two of the closets they were supposed to have packed were not touched. Furniture was not completely reassembled, was handed a bag of extra parts and told they didn't know what they went too. And to top things off when I called about the ring they said call the police, i did, and one of the crew was arrested and put in handcuffs in the front yard of my new house. I would stay as far away as you can from this company. They take no accountability or responsibility for their employees. Movers were on time and very professional. The transit time was much faster than expected, which was great. My couch was ruined, due to packing error, which was very disappointing, but Mayflower had a check sent to me within 48 hours of my complaint. I have dealt with damage from other movers before and it usually takes months of arguing and sending photos and etc, so that was a major relief that I didn't have to fight for it. I understand that the couch damage was the fault of the physical movers, not Mayflower, and they handled the situation very well. read more

We recently moved my mother from Pittsburgh PA to Tempe AZ. It was a VERY good experience. She had many items that were special to her, and she was worried about damage during the move, but she shouldn't have worried! The move was timely and everything arrived in the best of shape. There was one box lost during the move and we didn't notice it, but Dirck's came across it and made sure it was delivered to us. Exceptional experience, and we felt the price was very good for such a long move. They also arranged for her car to be delivered by carrier, and that also went very well. read more

We have moved with professional 8 times over the last 20 years. This last move we were asked to make arrangements ourselves , which was a first. I only called 2 big name companies Allied & United. After reading the reviews on their local companies, which were NOT impressive, we decided to look up reviews for local packing companies & stumbled upon Dircks who works with Mayflower. I was impressed right away with our estimator Jacob. He was timely, professional, caring and personable. I hit lotto though with our packers. They are a senior team at Dirks, Flora & Betty. They were awesome right away. These ladies are hands down by far the BEST packers I have EVER had...Dirk's needs to pay these ladies way more, loved,loved,loved them. I have been a service oriented manager for a company that demands great service, these ladies were fantastic! I told them we had lost a set of car keys years ago & a garage door opener & they found both items. I left them alone in my home & went to buy them lunch. I have NEVER done that ever. They found money & gave it to me. They were awesome. Nothing I have unpacked has been broken yet, another first. They threw trash away, most movers dump it in a box. They packed with thought & care, which sadly does not happen enough. I can not say enough about them ...Flora & Betty are the best = ) !!!!! Our moving crew was awesome, too. They handled everything in a professional way & were always there Exactly when they said they would be! We had to go to my MIL's & pick up another item & they took great care if it. Our items were delivered on the first day of the spread. We LOVED this experience & highly reccommend Dircks! We had one glitch with the appliance disconnect company Dirks contracyed to disconnect our fridge & washing machine. We ended up having to leave our washing machine, but this was not Dirck's fault. I suggest disconnecting things earlier than day before so if there is an issue you can be sure to take it with you. Hoestly it all worked out my new washer & dryer are life changing. LOL. read more

Dirks moved us from Surprise to Scottsdale, AZ. It was the WORST move of our entire life. So much damage was done to our pristine condition furniture. Although we paid for the complete coverage policy, Dirks denied coverage for some of the damage they caused. They even denied coverage for damage (broken legs of a set of tables) that the driver, Bryce, included in his report as being responsible for the damage. They eventually admitted fault for the damage. Then they said the damage to our dining room furniture was not included in the original claim, even though we proved that it was. In our experience, Dirks broke their contract to cover damage they caused, even after we proved their denials were bogus. In our opinion, you can choose a more reputable company that will honor the contract they sign to cover damage they caused. If I were able to give a zero star, I feel that would better characterize our experience. read more

I am writing to update anyone considering using Mayflower think again! As we sit my furniture is still sitting in some warehouse in AZ, I have gotten the run around and the typical "it's not my department, I'm waiting on responses from other departments" and no accountability. I had to make the call to this Corporate entity instead of them being pro-active and taking responsibility for their actions. Dirick's Moving Company can't get any action from Mayflower, but yet when I finally hear from someone they will not allow you to escalate up the chain for action. Good news I've made it to the President's customer support team but no one is allowed to speak to the President to tell him how poorly the company is handling the situation. This is a moving company that has no movers to move furniture, odd!! With all the choices we have in this world I would recommend staying away from this moving and finding one that will actually move your furniture timely. read more

Can I rate them with a negative 5r? If so I would. I am generally not one to write reviews unless service is outstanding or if it is an experience that I would w never wish on someone else. I have used Mayflower previously with positive results which is why when it came to moving again, it was a no-brainer who to select. Boy, was I wrong. The group of women packers were wonderful - pleasant, trustworthy and handled our goods with care. From there it was all down hill. The guys were over 2 hours late to load our goods, the delivery of our items was late and there was over 1200.00 in damages with stuff that was either completely lost or unusable in its current state. I has been over 2 weeks since delivery and inspection and all I keep being told is that the claims are processed and going to be mailed tomorrow. Hearing this multiple times really makes things sound fishy. Unfortunately my previous good experience with Mayflower has been absolutely ruined by this terrible experience. read more

First of all I have to say that I have never written a review about anything ever but I had such a great experience with Dircks that I'm changing my no review policy just for this. Unlike most of the companies that I called, they sent a representative (Michael) out to my home. He gave me an accurate estimate and also gave me some options that helped me save some money. Once I had selected them, Michael was in our area and so he offered to bring me some previously used boxes free of charge. My move date changed 4 times and they were always so understanding and accommodating. Once even going so far as to change the move date on the morning of my scheduled move! The care and professionalism that they gave to both me and my belongings was top notch and made a potentially stress filled experience a pleasant one. I got the kind of service that you always want but never seem to get anymore. I highly recommend this company and will use them again if I ever move. read more

We interviewed 5 companies and received 5 quotes before deciding on Dircks, for our local move March 10th, 2017. Driver and crew acts professional but that is about all they do. They broke so many items: corner TV unit, desk drawer unit, and to top it off they basically threw a 100+ year old sea trunk in the front yard and broke it. The desk drawer unit they turned upside down and stacked it on top of another drawer unit on a dolly, the drawer unit fell off the dolly, from the fall casters were broken, the lock on the drawers was jammed and the wood was damaged beyond repair. This was only an 11 mile move, not across country. We had better service and no damage with Bekins in 2010, but decided to go with Dircks because their quote was cheaper, but in the end it cost us $1000 more not counting the cost of the damaged furniture and broken items. The additional costs was due to the five man crew taking their time, Bekins loaded and unloaded more in under 8 hours - no damage and these guys took 12 hours adding more to the bill. Plus, they refused to move two filing cabinets upstairs unless we unloaded it, but their sales rep Michelle told us we didn't have to unload any drawers since it was a local move. Be smart and go with another company, these movers don't care about how things are handled or if they break it. read more

I was unsatisfied with the handling of my move. I had furniture damaged during the move that was left outside to be inspected for repairs. The final amount they offered for the furniture was well below the value of the furniture and was just to cover repairs. My washing machine arrived and when it was hooked up the motor was making a loud noise. They refused to cover the new motor, saying that it was mechanical failure, however the machine worked fine when it left my last station. The movers had no tools to put furniture pieces back together, so I had to do it myself. There were other small damages to furniture which I did not claim, trying to be reasonable, and knowing that things happen during moves. However, the final outcome for the two things I did claim was unreasonable in my opinion. Now I'm left with a large piece of furniture still sitting in my driveway, completely ruined, and I have to figure out how to dispose of it. read more

Let me start with the people are great. The folks who helped us through were strong, and the actually guys who did the physical moving were the best we have worked with (moved 6 times in last 10 years) The packers are terrible. I would absolutely not use them for your packing services. The best way to describe our experiences was a box we opened to discover our toddler's potty training toilet wrapped up and "protected" with her bedroom drapes. (Needless to say those drapes are now in the trash) There was countless other examples of the packers asking my wife (while holding our 8 mo old child) to climb ladders to get things for them, boxes that were mislabeled. Least of all was after the truck left discovering probably 3-5 drawers that were never opened and packed as well as more than a few larger items left at the house. It was terrible. As much as I love the people there, I was amazed that none of them wanted to take a stand and financially help us (we paid about 2500 for them to pack our property) undue all the terrible things the packers had done. On the whole the entire move was soured because of how bad the packers were. I would without question use the movers, but would NEVER pay them to pack your house. read more
