My moving experience with Dircks was quite good. Though an estimator never came to my house to survey my goods, it worked out that there was adequate material(s) for all of my belongings and no secondary trips necessary. My move coordinator was in constant contact with me (but not too much) to let me know the progress of items. My moving team was awesome - the guys were quick and thorough - all my stuff arrived in as packed condition on the first day of my time window which to me was a HUGE positive thing. We requested a home move 7 miles up the road. We contracted with Dirck. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE. We had a contract, they had a work order which they did not follow. We were supposed to have packing Mon-Tues-Wed and then moving what they packed Thur-Fri. The first day we had 1 1/2 packer. The second day there were three more packers but did not get finished. The third day of packing NO ONE SHOWED UP AT ALL. The forth day NO ONE showed up to finish PACKING. When they did pack, they just threw my folded cloths into a box without a bit of respect for my belonging. Good dresses thrown an left on the floor. I packed my own master bath and most of my master bedroom, dinning room and office cabinets. That was 20 boxes. THEY PACKED THINGS THEY WERE ASKED NOT TO PACK LIKE MY WORK CLOTHS. I HAD NOTHING TO WEAR FOR THREE DAYS. They did not respond to calls to remedy the situation. They ignored every call. They charged way to much for the poor, poor service and poor poor quality they provided Management response was non-existent. Please be very careful if you thinking of using this company. They were a huge disappointment. I wish I had read their reviews before I made the deal with them. read more

So about 8 months after our move, our Ligne Roset bed collapsed on us. When I removed the mattress, I was astonished to find that the following: 1. The plywood in the base is split where the dowel is inserted. 2. The dowels holding the base and frame together snapped off. 3. The frame is supposed to be held to the frame at 4 points, 2 dowels and a metal pin at each point. The metal pin is supposed to be held in place by a metal receiver and a hex bolt. All but one metal receiver were missing, and all the hex bolts were gone. Not all the wooden dowels were there, except for those that snapped. 4. A metal spacer is missing for the frame. 5. There are a couple metal receivers / hex bolts that are missing in the frame too. 6. There were multiple chips and scratches on the frame. So, they haphazardly put together the bed back together when they moved us in. The movers did not disclose that the bed is missing hardware and was not put back together correctly. I am very disappointed with Dirck's and the work ethics of their employees. We have a small child and 2 small dogs at home and imagine the bed were to collapse while they were around, I would not be able to forgive myself. read more

Well the nightmare is over. Finally got my check for all the damages. Well all is a misnomer. I got a check for the damages they finally agreed to pay. Before I go any further just know to make sure you check every item that comes off the truck. Also save any packaging from damaged items. Save all damaged items. Take pictures and hope for the best. First of all I contracted for an entire truck and paid 23K for a move from AZ to OK! First team of packers showed up late and had no packing tape??? One was hung over and sleeping out in his car and threw up in our bathroom sink . Needless to say many of the items these buffoons packed got damaged during transit. That left most of the house unpacked with the truck coming just 2 days away. I called and they sent a mature team the next day who showed up early and worked their tails off and finally finished late in the day to get everything ready to go. Great people. A lot of worry though. Loading team was on time and very efficient. Worked hard all day in 100 + degree weather. Good guys. Got a call from my driver to say he was squeezing another load on the truck and was headed to TX before delivering my furniture. We spent 4 days in a hotel in OK as a result. Unloading was fast and furious. Not a lot of attention paid to our moldings or wood floors both of which took a beating. Lots of scratches chips in walls etc. And when I was asked to sign off the paperwork I noticed that ALL of our items were marked damaged prior to loading, even brand new furniture. Nice way to cover themselves in case of a claim. Make sure you go over the pre-move paperwork closely. Took two months to settle our claims and numerous phone calls. Needless to say the whole process was a nightmare. Way MORE stress then necessary with delays, date changes, etc. One bright spot was Star the gal that did her best to keep things on track. Go somewhere else for that kind of money. We've moved several times over the years with professional companies and this was by far the worst and most expensive experience ever! DO NOT use this company! I paid a lot of money to have professionals pack my house. I requested storage for my belongings until purchasing a new home in Scottsdale. (This was a local move.) When the movers delivered my furniture, boxes were opened (never sealed), everything was piled haphazardly, furniture was not even wrapped and left exposed to obviously become damaged. I have several unique pieces of furniture which are not replaceable (Jonathan Adler, anthropology, etc). I am absolutely devastated. Truth and Dare! Engaging a mover company, and pay for their service supposed to be a stress free and will let us feel at ease. At least, that what I have always experience before with other mover, but NOT with Dircks/Mayflower! My moving from ABQ to Boise has caused me alot of damaged and frustation, not to mentioned, that they have treated all of our stuff like trash, using my dresses to wrap other stuff, and wedding photo frame! After all, we have to suffer and go through a long process for the claim, just to get all of the broken item back in function again. And it's almost everything not in good condition anymore. My bikes, bags, sofa, other household item, etc. And this all evidence has proofed the way of their work. After a tiring unpacking and organizing for the new house, we have to bear and sit on the floor! And it has been almost for a month now, and the company hasn't resolve this matter for us. And we hope we don't have to go through law firm, just to get things done! What an experience!!! I did not have a good experience with Dircks/Mayflower. While initially the experience seemed like it would turn out positive, in the moment the performance of the company made all the difference. When i first contacted Dircks, i received a really good quote. At the time we were getting ready to sell our house, and weeks later, had it under contract. Unfortunately, that sale fell through. Months later, I made the decision to continue using Dircks, although i was warned the price would go up, well in advance...It certainly did, to the tune of about 35%. I acquiesced to this, because the next time our house was under contract, we needed a mover without having to add a lot more stress. Selling a house is about the most stressful thing that I have ever experienced. (this was the 3rd time i did that, and by far the most stressful). Imagine my surprise when two days before our scheduled move date, we were asked to load a day early - while juggling buyer demands and inspections, this was an impossible ask, if not an overstep, on Dircks' part. While they then met our originally-scheduled move date and showed up relatively early on the day to load our belongings, i became incredibly disappointed when i came to learn that an entire week would pass by before my stuff even left their warehouse. Because we left Phoenix in the beginning of summer, i am led to believe that it was not in the best of care (Subtle damage has been uncovered since that time to certain furniture, which you could assume to be consistent with heat damage). During that week, my wife and I were horrified. We were on our way to our new apartment, and during that time, promises for updates and calls back went unfulfilled. In total, 18 days passed from the time we left our things behind with Dircks and the time that they were received. From the time we moved into our new apartment, it was two weeks. That was two weeks of sitting on the floor, deciding whether or not to get expensive hotel rooms (on top of the already very expensive move) or buy furniture that would become quickly unnecessary once we got the stuff, we paid at great cost, to move. Our position was to ride this out, although this did not have a positive outcome on physical or mental health. It is not often that i make cross-country moves, so I expect that when i pay an amount that would be sufficient to buy a serviceable used car, that everything will be in good hands. I did not even get what Dircks promises at a very simple level, which is clear communication at all times. I would have settled for that if I got it. In the end Dircks taught me a valuable lesson about the worthlessness of things, which I might not learn in years of meditative study. Learning to live without led me to a truly apathetic state, once i did get the things I paid to have moved over thousands of miles. This company damaged my car during transport. Thank god I noticed it on pickup it was fairly subtle. The damage was to my side view mirror. They threatened me to get more pics, quotes for repair from non-Audi body shops, etc within short periods of time. They then wanted to have their own estimated look at it? I drove around with no side view mirror for over 2 months during this process (it fell out due to the damage they did). Thankfully I didn't get in a crash or get a ticket. Finally got go ahead to get fixed, brought it in, then they send me a check for less than the estimate? Worse yet, the body shop finds there's more internal damage to the housing than could be seen on surface and it will cost more and Dirks tells them they won't cover it. Now body shop wants to know if I want it fixed as I'll have to pay the difference. Dirks didn't even have the decency to tell me anything. This is the most unprofessional group of idiots I've ever dealt with. It's a very simple matter, we aren't customers, we're lucky to have them move our stuff for us. This company should swiftly go out of business and those working there should be fired. Anyone knows what authority I can take this matter up with please do let me know. In early April 2021, I contacted Dircks for a quote to move my belongings to central Washington. The estimator, Mike Burney, told me that the busy season was approaching and I would have to load out my house a week early in order to ensure a delivery of May 1 to May 5. The day before packing, Dircks' rep called to tell me that my things were going to be crated instead of going on a big truck, the typical way. Hey what did I care? So long as the move completed as promised. Today is May 10th. I still don't have my items. They are stuck in a warehouse in Yakima, WA now, a small warehouse that doesn't have the manpower or drivers to deliver or unload my items. Why is that? Because of the crates. You see, Dircks' person, Ruth, was supposed to CALL the Yakima location when the change was made, not when the items arrived in town. Apparently there is a difference in how these things are handled. Who knew? Well, Yakima got a call ,but only at the last minute. And now I am, as Dircks' fine estimator puts it "inconvenienced". Yes, inconvenienced. I have nothing. Their fancy corporate team told me to buy an airbed to sleep on. I recommend that if you are planning a move, use any other company. These folks are all sweet and nice until they take your money then it's "sorry we inconvenienced you" EDIT: The head of customer care at UniGroup did take my call last week and did listen to my concerns. She has been trying to solve the problem that Dircks created. If they had just told me in the first place that they couldn't do the job, no one would be unhappy Well done, Dircks. Well done. So, I was moving back to Michigan and needed a professional moving company to get my stuff across the country. I got a total of four quotes, and decided on these guys. I had Jacob come out to my apartment to look at my stuff and do a walk through with what I was going to take and how much it would cost. Jacob was awesome! Aside from giving me a reasonable quote, he was totally professional and had a really warm friendly demeanor. The whole thing took about an hour, and he gave me a few options of how I wanted it shipped. I decided on the crate containers, which came with $10,000 insurance on each one that I used. I only needed two, and that worked out perfectly! He was right on. He emailed me a quote and after I was ready, I scheduled my move with him. The guys got to my apartment about a half an hour after they told me they would, and they were so awesome! They had all the tools they needed, like ramps, professional wraps for my furniture and took great care when loading my stuff into the truck. It was about three hours to load, do paperwork, and have them clean up their supplies when they were done. Overall a very positive stress free experience. The office also called while we were loading to make sure everything was going as planned and to see if things were okay. I was also able to schedule my delivery when it got into town, and again, they were there within half an hour of their expected scheduled time. Three guys showed up and unloaded my stuff in no time. Half of it wen inside and the other half is in my moms garage. Guys were efficient, friendly overall really professional and quick. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat if you want a reliable moving company that is trustworthy and professional. Prices are competitive, and it was an overall great experience. Sales team was on it and professional. Packers average. Previous movers the packers and shipping team worked together. This move to the east packers were not detailed to the point night stands turned upside down full so all items were a mess. Another example were shelving items collected and dumped together in one box without wrapping. One more, Apple computer screen had 2 bottles of lotion/shampoo on top of screen. Liquids not wrapped.whatsoever so could have spilled out. Tvs just paper wrapped, nothing more to protect. Disappointed as Mayflower is a national brand. read more

I recommend that you go elsewhere to get your needs attended to. Short version. Dircks has stored several expensive pieces of woodworking equipment for 22 years collecting tens and tens of thousands of dollars. When I went to collect the equipment several of the items had been lost and many more were severely damaged. They overcharged for delivery and Customer Service has not been helpful yet. Mr. Shaw took ill in May of 1995 and had several high end pieces of woodworking equipment picked up by Dircks and stored for 22 years. Mr. Shaw passed away and I purchased the equipment from his family in Minnesota. They charged me $70 to inspect the items....thankfully I did because Dircks lost several very expensive items including a MinMax Shaper, Pannel Saw, Tormec Sharpener and much much more. They charged me a total of $700 to deliver it to Scottsdale from their warehouse in Phoenix and it sort of feels like they gouged me. The worst part is that There was damage to several of the items. They badly bent the feed table on a drum sander, bent the rolling leg on this same item, cracked the casing on a Scroll saw, dented the motor on a Jointer planer, Bent the metal guard on Edge Sander and broke the table top off the base of the jointer/planer. I was able to fix a couple of the items, but will also need to purchase some parts. I noted all this damage on the delivery paper and am still waiting to hear from somebody who will take care of this. If they do, I will update this review to reflect such. read more

Dircks was part of our Mayflower move. We did not have a great experience at all. First, the movers looked like they were in middle school, which is concerning to me since these kids should be given a chance at an education. Second, our stuff was not put together well at all. Our furniture was wobbly, and there were many broken pieces of furniture. There was no regard or compassion for our broken furniture. I don't fault the kids since they are kids and worked hard. Dircks should have sent professionals with more experience, not kids. HE LIED!!!!!! on moving day; shipment picked up then dropped at local warehouse and picked up TWO days later for interstate move LIARS AND CHEATS!!! Don't use them! UPDATE: They continue to LIE!! 1/3 of my move has now been transferred to another mover. First I was told a "couple' items; then 'several' items; now finally after multiple phone calls, over 30 items have been shipped using another mover. We weren't able to utilize the "free boxes" Michelle offered. I assume they only have boxes available if people donate them back... so they didn't have any for us to use. :-(. We ended up buying most of our boxes from uHaul. Tony and two other movers (3 guys total) came and packed up all of our stuff. They took their time packing up our stuff, were hard working and very nice. Sean emailed us during the process and called us after we were loaded to check in. This is a GREAT company!! I had to relocate for business from Phoenix to Boston and it was a huge change for our family. It is just about as far away from Arizona as you can go within the U.S. That being said, Misty was AWESOME when she called for the phone survey to decide how much space we would need on the truck. Because I was already working in Massachusetts and the time is three hours off, it was difficult for us to connect. She gave me her personal cell phone number and told me that she would take my call after I got off work (which is three hours after she got off work). That small act showed me dedication and professionalism. I was not present for the packing and loading of the truck but my wife said they did a fantastic job. She couldn't have been happier. We have moved on our own several times before but after this experience it was proven that money spent on a mover is well worth it! The headache and hassle of packing and moving can really take a toll on a family that relocates often. Here we are now, a week or so since our belongings have arrived and not a single item was damaged, scratched, or lost. This is the first time I have used Mayflower & I will never use them again. The driver was very rude to me & his crew. They packed my boxes & furniture into the moving van so poorly that when it arrived at the other end many of the boxes were crushed and or splitting apart. I have moved 10 times with little to no problems with the moving companies. I've only had one item broken from my packing & have never had my boxes damaged. My stuff went into a mini storage garage so I do not know yet how badly damaged my things are. There was furniture that was not wrapped and wrapped furniture that had half the wrapping coming off when they took it out of the truck. Since they did not bring any wrapping material (I paid extra for that) that furniture went into storage unprotected. The driver was suppose to have 4 people help him move my stuff into the mini storage garage but he only brought one person. The driver had an injured knee and could not do much so basically that person moved all my stuff from the truck into the mini storage garage by himself. My furniture was dragged upside down & sideways & when I expressed my concern the driver said it wasn't hurting the furniture. They wanted to pack my furniture on it's side & put boxes on top of it. They did not bring a ladder so they could only stack the boxes 6 ft high & they threw some of my furniture on top of the boxes. I expressed my concerns to the sales person who signed my job and I filled out the survey they sent me but no one has bothered to contact me. read more

Moving is stressful, but when a death in the family creates the need to move it is obviously happening at a highly emotional time. Such was the case when I helped an elderly relative (who had just become a widower) find a mover to relocate household belongings from a condo in Phoenix to his main home in St. Louis. My first goal was to help relieve stress by locating a mover with a positive track record and discuss the situation. Within two minutes the folks at Dirks put my mind at ease as they talked about their service and how they also wanted to help relieve stress at a tough time in life. I remember the owner saying with passion, "We will take care of him!" They gave us a bid for the move that we thought was very reasonable and awarded them the job. While I was not in Phoenix during pack and load day, I can tell you that I was involved on the receiving end for unpacking. I opened box after box of various items and everything was in perfect shape. I specifically recall opening boxes containing artwork and ceramic items and hoping for the best. It was ALL perfect. (Whew!) This moment gave new meaning to me about professional packing. While we were unpacking my relative told me a story about pack and load day and how he tried to help by moving a few things around but started to loose his breath during a hot Phoenix day...i'm not sure who spotted him first but someone on the crew noticed and quickly got him to sit down, gave him water and told him they will take care of everything and to please relax. I then heard the owner's voice in my head saying, "We will take care of him". I don't think he envisioned this scenario but truly taking care of people must be in their DNA. My last employer used Dirck's Mayflower for years without any issues, difficulty or drama. Ten years later, I remembered them, and decided to use them for our move. So glad I did, on time, professional, packed our stuff, stored it (our new house wasn't ready when our last house sold) and then delivered everything. Not a thing was damaged, missing or broken. Allen, the guy who packed us, turned out to be our delivery guy as well (though he told me it doesn't always work that way). They arrived within the "time window" we were given on both ends. They re-assembled everything they disassembled without any difficulty. The new house has two flights of steps ... not easy but they managed to not "hit the walls" going up the steps, making the turn and getting things into the right rooms. Real pros. Additionally their price was competitive with some of the "you pack it in our container and we'll pick up" places I called..... and this way I didn't have to pack a thing, lift a thing or unpack a thing. They worked non stop from the time they arrived for 5 hrs....I was tired just watching. I would use them again or recommend them unreservedly. read more

I wasn't sure at first so I didn't say anything right away like I should have, I thought maybe it was just misplaced. I didn't want to jump the gun, but after many months it never turned up. We payed over $2,500 to have our things moved and stored, thinking at that price they would handle our things carefully as we were assured they would do just that. Definitely not the case. They broke/destroyed our boys outdoor basketball hoop ($500), our outdoor heater ($199), trundle bed ($900), clay bird bath ($350) and put a humongous dent in the top of our brand new washer ($950) They think a reimbursement of $310 is sufficient! To top it all off one of their crew members stole $165 out of our boys BATMAN wallets! Yeah, that's right they stole from children. Did Dircks do anything about it? NO. Absolutely nothing, but make me call them and spend hours on the phone for nothing. File a police report they said. Neava and her team just left from packing up our house. She and Rosy were here both yesterday and today, & yesterday John was also here. We couldn't be more pleased with their work. We're military and have moved many times. Unfortunately, we're used to our things getting thrown in boxes in a very unorganized fashion. These ladies (& John while he was here) take great care to properly place things in boxes, making sure things are put in there in an organized way that will make sense when unpacking. They took the time to properly label each and every box (actually filling out that little square with our name, order number, contents and room it belongs to. ...rather than just writing "KITCHEN" really big). I have a ribbon banner I made for my daughter's room, and was hoping to watch them pack it so I could ask them to lay it flat. They packed it before I knew and Neava said she had folded it. Later in the day, she told me that she went back and found it and moved it to another box so it could be laying flat. We have some fabric cubes in our kids' rooms and I was also hoping to watch to make sure they got properly folded (another move, someone tried to pack it upright then piled a bunch of stuff on top of it and it got crushed and would no longer hold its shape). I asked Rosy if she was able to fold the cubes and she told me exactly how she folded them and laid them so they wouldn't get squished. These people really go the extra mile. AND they were more than nice to our kids. They actually talked to them and made our kids feel comfortable around them. They were so incredibly pleasant to have around, and we couldn't let them leave without tipping them. They really were the best we've ever had when it comes to packers. I was anxious after having a terrible cross country move a few years ago, but everything from start to finish was fantastic with Dircks. - Marcy, the move coordinator, was prompt and professional, answered all of my questions, and gave me a good clear idea of pricing and scheduling. - The surveyor was great. We actually came out under his estimate. And since they have a price guarantee I didn't have to worry about any surprises. - The movers (pickup) came on time, literally on the dot--same day guaranteed. No window! They wrapped everything and put down blankets. - The delivery was also same day guaranteed. (This is rare for a cross country move!) These guys were great. They assembled everything and handled everything with care. - Not a single item was lost. One shelf was damaged but the claims process was quick and painless. After 18 years in the same location, there was a change in property ownership and I had to find a place to relocate in a very short period of time, Two companies were suggested and I interviewed both. Jeff Chretien at Dircks called me back quickly and met with me in a very timely manner, knowing that there was a time crunch. He is personable, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. As a result, the move was smooth, on-time, and even a bit under estimate. It was easy to communicate with him both via email and phone, and things went as planned. When there was a suspected missing item (later found in the bottom of a file cabinet that I had overlooked), he turned everything upside down to find it. If I could leave zero stars I would! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! Nothing about using this company will make your life any easier! In fact prepare for the exact opposite. My surveyor, Mike Burney, overcharged us $1,000 for a shuttle service that was never even used. For 3 weeks this mistake was acknowledged by many people within the company but ultimately they wouldn't refund us due to their "price guarantee policy" so we are just supposed to pay $1000 because of one guys mistake and be happy about that?! How is this legal?! Now their story has changed and they won't refund it because they insist the shuttle WAS used. Implying I'm a liar?!! I know that it wasn't used, you know it wasn't, we all know what's really true here but this lady today, Hailey, actually said to me "yeah, well what proof do you have?" We selected Dircks based on the excellent reviews they received over the past two years and they most certainly met our expectations. We had to coordinate the moving of our household furnishings, as well as my mother's nearby apartment. Timing was everything, and Dircks did everything right on schedule, including arriving at our destination 2,700 miles away. Everyone we dealt with, the move consultant that did the estimate, the move coordinator, the packers, the driver and loading crew were top notch and professional in every way. The crew that did the unloading wasn't quite as good or efficient. They caused some damage to a stairwell while moving a baby grand piano and love seat to the second floor, but Dircks responded to our claim in a timely and fair manner. The reviews of the other moving companies we looked into were so mediocre, at best, that we didn't bother to get a second estimate. Dircks did very well by us, and I highly recommend them. read more

I had some issues with our last move with Dircks. The movers damaged our stucco, and scraped up the outside of our new house. The threshold to our door was also scratched up by the movers. The worst part was the failure of their subcontractors, The Crating Guys, to hook up our washer and dryer. They never showed up at our new home to do the hook up! I called them and left messages, but got no return phone call. We can't wash our clothes! I paid a premium to have this service for the washer/dryer hookup. To get a no-show is bad. This is a brand new house, which was undamaged prior to the move. Now it's up to me to do the repairs caused by Dircks! read more

Shannon and Isreal did a fantastic job. The pick up in Florida was timely and professional. The arrival in Az. was also perfect. My Mom was moving into a facility with many elderly moving around. I have used Dircks to move from DC to Phoenix and from Phoenix to Knoxville. Both moves were perfect (and affordable). The service is fantastic and fast, and all employees are responsive. None of my things has been lost or damaged, and my shipments have always arrived within the first 24 hours of the date range provided. I can't say enough good things about this company. The movers are friendly and very good at what they do. In both experiences with the company I was able to feel confident that my move was being handled professionally and that I was not being ripped off or taken advantage of. The best experience of our many moving projects. From the start the quote was handled very professionally. Everything happened on time. There was regular communication on the schedule. The packers were amazing and nothing was broken. Our drivers Evarista Sanchez and Jorge Erazo were amazing. They took great care of our furniture and possessions and had to unload in the rain at our Napa destination. They had the additional task of taking furniture down some steep stairs to our office and bedrooms. A very good experience and the staff were always very sensitive to our needs. I would highly advise using another mover for your moving needs. We've had challenge after challenge with Dirks moving and Logistics. The night befire our move across the country they call and tell us that the truck that was supposed to pick up our house was full and they would not be able to accommodate or move as acheduled and they would be in touch. I understand that there is a window on delivery date due to weather, traffic and other drops but to be informed less than 24 hours out that they would BE IN TOUCH to reschedule. After many calls to Dirks they were able to accommodate the pick up but been informed us that all of our belongings from our house would be sent to a warehouse in Phoenix and the new scheduled delivery date would be pending. Again after many calls to Dirk's to rectify the situation they were able to accommodate our move within the booking window that we had signed the contract for. However upon leaving Phoenix and on our trip to Nashville Tennessee we were informed that all of our belongings would not fit in the second truck and it that would be delayed with an unknown date for the remainder of the delivery. We are now in our house in Nashville Tennessee with roughly 60% of our belongings and the other unknown and still in Phoenix to the best of my knowledge. The other unfortunate item is that they charge the full amount on the day the truck left Phoenix even though we did not have all of our belongings delivered to us in Nashville. And again with no known date of the remainder items to be delivered. I highly recommend you do your research when searching for moving companies and also stipulate payment of delivery once you have all items delivered to your possession. Moving is stressful enough with families and pets and then to not to have all of your belongings delivered only adds to the stress level as you can imagine . I used Dircks as part of my move from Surprise, AZ to Kent, OH and was amazed at their service. I have lived in six different states and have moved many times. I can relay some disappointing moments in past moves and more than one horror story. Compared to my past experiences, being moved by Dircks was a breeze. They were very professional. They wore company clothing. They were courteous, efficient, fast, and careful. They made sure I was happy. Being that my husband is military we are assigned a moving company opposed to choosing- we were assigned Dircks/Horizon. Initially they were very responsive in scheduling times and dates but upon moving day (literally the day of packing our boxes into their truck) we were informed our delivery date had been moved up four days and if we were not there to accept our household goods they would be stored in their warehouse for 30+ days with no way of getting them out early! First off, this is a new base we're relocating to, so we don't have friends or family on hand that we felt could zip over, waste an entire day to sign for us. Secondly, we had already put dates down, as per our discussion with the Dirks coordinator, and moving them up 4 days is not something military personal can just...do! The lead mover/driver was very firm and nonchalantly insensitive to the amount of stress this placed on us day one. My husband has to apply for a moving date with his supervisors, it's not as if he can just leave whenever to accommodate the movers schedules. Luckily my husband was able to dig someone up in his new shop who's wife graciously volunteered an entire day to babysit the movers for 6+ hours so everything we owned wouldn't go in storage for a month or more. Our stuff was not marked correctly which messed up our weight and several boxes of "Pro-Gear" (which the military waives as he's required to have these items for deployments and work) were not discounted from the weight and we busted our weight limit the that military allows us to take. They were very unhelpful in correcting the situation and we had to eat the difference. The packers took two days to pack our minimalist 1200 sq ft home and used so much paper that it took us weeks to go through the boxes. (I can only imagine how much all the paper weighed it was that much!) Nothing broke in the move, which is great, but the waste was just outrageous. Never thought I could complain about my belongings being "over packed" until I had to unwrap a giant-car-seat-sized box with nothing but paper and a single serving plate. I mean boxes, upon boxes of paper! When we went to leave we were finding that there were things they just didn't pack! Random frames, blankets and pots that just got sort of left behind. We had to figure out how to take these things with us which was kind of annoying to say the least. Seemed like pure laziness. The moving crew who came to pick up the boxes were great. Very kind and professional to both my kids and our pets. Worked hard and got the semi loaded very quickly and efficiently. They also were very trustworthy and even brought my purse to me a few times when they had been left in a room alone with it; however, they did not place plastic down before coming in and out with their shoes and hand trucks and left our base house carpet with foot traffic stains and hand truck wheel trails all throughout. We were up until 3 am the night prior to final inspection shampooing carpets to insure we didn't get slapped with the huge fines that come with living in base housing. When we finally arrived to the our new location, there were several items they had broken down and were supposed to reassemble which were not, making for yet another late night for my husband and I the night before having to report in to work. We felt incredibly stressed, disorganized and tossed around with this company. I would highly advise going with another mover. We are a military family and relocate A LOT, and we've never openly complained about such things but this was, hands down, the worst experience I've ever had. read more

I would advise looking elsewhere for your moving needs. We used Mayflower/United for our move from Chandler, AZ to Georgia they weren't the low cost. Packed our house and lost our truck After almost two weeks they were unloading and I get call saying they would be there the next day to unload. One of the selling points was they insured our belongings. Well after doing over 4K in lost or damaged items they had restoration company come in and repair They did repair leather recliner. $2500 desk and hutch are restored but will never be the same. Another desk had a hole in it and they thought $100 for "appearance " would be suffice. In total they thought and $740 was enough and no more for all the damage. Buyer beware. read more
