The food was great, the service excellent and gracious for a busy morning, and our gift certificate spent as it should. I like what the new owner is up to; it's hard to take over an established iconic business and succeed. Harder than starting from scratch. But these guys are sorting it out. Every time we eat at this location we leave very happy and satisfied. They have an awesome pet friendly patio that features a nice creek view. The food is always fresh and cooked to your request. It is such a lovely place; very friendly, super accommodating, and they even have a whole little vegan menu with tons of options!! Stopped by Dinner Bell Cafe in Prescott on Easter Sunday--ordered sausage patties, home fries, and this huge fluffy buttermilk biscuit. My son got his own meal with toast (he didn't want it), so I asked for his biscuit instead--ended up with two giants! Barely finished mine, but took the extra home for a next-morning snack. A cute diner just off the square. The staff was so nice and friendly. We sat at the bar and had great service. The coffee was better than any diner coffee, more of a Starbucks quality. They serve a local Prescott coffee from Prescott Roasters. I ordered the traditional breakfast 2 eggs and opted for fruit as my side. To get my eggs the way I like them....mildly runny, I ordered them over medium well. They came out pretty good, I could have taken them just a little more runny. Th e fruit was fresh loaded with pineapple, grapes and strawberries. My husband ordered the diced ham and eggs with the potatoes. We decided to visit this small diner in hopes of grabbing a yummy home-cooked breakfast and we weren't disappointed. The place is small, but has plenty of tables/booths and some counter seating available. We got there around 10 AM and the place was full with the exception of two open booths. We took one that was along the wall and we're quickly greeted by our food server. She wasn't all that happy-go-lucky, but perhaps it wasn't a good day for her? Nevertheless, she was attentive and took our order quickly. They do serve both breakfast and lunch, but we opted for breakfast. I ordered ham and eggs with hash browns and my niece ordered sausage patty (there is also a choice for links!) and eggs with hash browns. She opted for coffee while I chose a glass of OJ. Coffee was served hot, but for whatever reason my niece said it wasn't that good. My OJ was just the way I like it - cold and served with pulp! Our food came out quickly and was hot. Hash browns were crispy as we requested but I did have to send back my toast and request it be toasted a bit more because it was served very soft, yet had burnt grill marks, so not really sure if they actually use a toaster ir not, but it came back out still soft and just a little darker The food was good. Eggs were cooked as ordered and my ham was a pretty decent sized ham steak. The sausage patty was a bit different and we thought that maybe it was either freshly made or just not the pork sausage patties we are used to eating. It was good, just different. I don't think either one of us were wowed by the food, but then again we ordered a pretty basic dish. I hear the Chile Rellenos are amazing, but I didn't think about trying them until after the fact! I actually don't even recall seeing them on the menu, but I'm sure I just missed them. Being that I'm new to the area, I do plan on returning and trying a lunch plate next time. My fiancé & I had breakfast here this morning. We are locals & usually go to Raven cafe but decided to give this restaurant a try mainly because they have vegan options which is awesome :) It was Sunday so we figured there would be a wait...It was packed! It was worth the wait though. The vegan Huevos Rancheros was excellent. Our server was super friendly too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because about 6 months ago I reached out to the business via their website with their contact link asking about their vegan options and "crickets" no response at all! I had heard the new owner being interviewed on our local radio program & she was talking about vegan options they had planned to have on the menu. I was just inquiring as to if they had implemented that yet. I didn't want to come in if I couldn't eat anything on the menu. So I almost boycotted the place. Not good customer service to not respond to inquiries especially people that live here that help sustain a business during "slower" times, just an opinion from a fellow business owner. Who knows, maybe she never received the email. I'm glad I still gave it a try. read more

My husband and I have had breakfast here several times when visiting Prescott. On this visit we had another great breakfast. My husband had eggs and a bean patty that had a texture like a firm brownie. It came with guacamole and sour cream. He liked his breakfast a lot. I had had a tasty Greek omelet with feta olives and fresh spinach. The server offered me a nice selection of tea, and I chose a tea to put on a small teapot. This is one of those old-school diners where the waitress calls you sweetie, the drip coffee keeps coming, and the 80-year-olds leaving the restaurant ask you if you've ever eaten here before and tell you "it's worth it." Phoenix doesn't have that many great diners, so I'm always pleasantly surprised when I stumble upon a gem during travels. Dinner Bell Cafe fits the bill perfectly. I had the Belgian Waffle with the housemade sausage patty as the side. Highly recommend. One fun trick - Dinner Bell Cafe will bake your waffle toppings INTO the waffle. How cool is that?! Definitely an awesome treat for kids (or for normal adults like myself). I went for bananas inside, but there's a whole list of unique ingredients to add into or on top of your waffle. I have been eating at this restaurant for over 25 years. I've seen it switch owners a few times and stuck with it through the changes. However I've never been more disappointed with my favorite breakfast spot in prescott. My family and I just spent 65$ on our traditional meal. Breakfast for one toddler and two adults. 65$? What happened? The food was okay but definitely not as good as it used to be. The service is just okay. Not great. Not as good as it used to be. And the interior is just lacking these days. It is sad to see such a great old spot turn into something so poor. Please don't let our Dinner Bell go down the drain. read more

The only place in Prescott that offers a vegan menu! If your vegan, just ask for the vegan menu when you come in for breakfast or dinner. And just the fact they have a vegan menu would be enough for me. But there's more! The vegan and non-vegan food is absolutely fantastic Southwestern Dinner Food. And that's not all! The staff, all of them, could not be nicer. The service is authentic and exceptional. And that's not all! They have a full bar. And that's not all! They are located just a block off Wiskey Row. And that's not all! The atmosphere is deceptively uplifting. It looks just like a dinner, but it feels like home. All the staff are not just friendly with the customers but also with each other, making it a happy, positive environment. And that's not all! When I'm in Prescott my go to place for huevos rancheros. I've had a couple of other things but nobody else in town in my experience knows how to make huevos rancheros as well as Dinner Bell. They make their tortillas, and a crispy corn one is my favorite foundation, and over it there is a layer of pepper jack with ranchero sauce, on the side: refried beans, guacamole, and fresh pico de gallo, and warm tortillas. I usually don't eat until after noon and they are still serving breakfast until 2 pm. I've tried other places for huevos rancheros but they don't ring my dinner bell. They recently raised the prices 20% but everybody is having to do this, often increasing the price of coffee to make it less visible. Who asks the price of coffee and tea? An onion is now a dollar even at Trader Joe's. :-( No wonder they make me cry. read more

Second cinnamon roll also could not be cut with a steak knife, or even a hatchet, if I had one. Guess I needed a chainsaw. Ordered TOAST. Received a piece of Wonder bread that had been put on grill with "butter poured in center before it was toasted. Arrived anemically white, untoasted, greasy. Inedible. Potatoes yuck. Eggs okay. We went up to Sedona for the new year. On our way up we stopped to check out Prescott Arizona. We were really hungry and someone told us about this restaurant the dinner bill café. It's practically a historic land landmark in this city.
