My plate arrived super fast - maybe 10 minutes - and had enough food for myself, the patron next to me, AND a doggy bag! We are in Prescott from the NW Tucson area for the weekend & I did an internet search for the best Fish & Chips in Prescott. There were about 10 places listed, but I was most drawn to the Bear & Dragon when I looked at their website. My husband I really enjoyed Bear & Dragon from start to finish. The decor is wonderful - comfortable with interesting photos &'paintings in each dining area (& even the restroom.) We started with a Cesar Salad that we shared. The dressing was a little tart for my taste but my husband loved it. The Romaine was crisp & fresh; the croutons were homemade & the olives & Parmesan were perfect. My husband had the Chicken Pot Pie & said it was the best he had ever had. I had the Fish & Chips with Truffle Fries & it was amazing. We shared the Cake of the Day, which was Chocolate with a Caramel Frosting a'lamode - excellent. All of the portions were huge - enough for lunch tomorrow. We were visiting from Phoenix and stopped by Bear & Dragon once we got in town and it was the best way to start our trip! There was no wait, our server was helpful in providing recommendations and our food came out so fast. The decor of the indoor dining was so cute and the theme of everything was on point. Felt transported to a pub in England. The sandwich was incredible and fizzy mint lemonade was the perfect pair. We also got lattes to go which were perfectly sweet. This cute little library-themed restaurant may be our new favorite breakfast place when we come to Prescott. We asked to sit on the patio and they said they could provide shade for every table out there. The patio was pet-friendly. Our food was delicious--the French Omelette and Tolkien's Breakfast (a big English breakfast that brought back good memories for us!). I also ordered a sugar-free vanilla decaf latte which was delightful. Our server was friendly and efficient and our food came to us quickly. The only thing was I wanted more salt and it took awhile to get it. I guess usually people don't usually ask for that. Our bill came in a library book! What a cute idea. read more

On May 1st, my wife and I stopped for lunch. We ordered 1 queen Victoria tray and 2 sandwiches Goldilocks and Fire Drake. We asked for the bill to pay, I looked at when he came to pick it up I told him this is not mine. He didn't even asked why he ripped it and said he'll back with the right one. He came back with another one and I paid it immediately. After we left I checked what we paid. I've been to Bear & Dragon multiple times and they never disappoint. They have the best soft scrambled eggs and hash browns. Their coffee is very high quality as well. Great and very Instagram worthy spot to grab breakfast . We tried their London fog latte, and also their pecan pie latte, which were both very delicious, the pecan pie was pretty sweet and the London fog had a perfect creamy texture to it. The English breakfast was more of an Irish breakfast, but was still delicious nevertheless. We did have a slight issue with some egg shells cracked into our eggs, but the owner checked on us and offered to have the dish remade so all is well, accidents in the kitchen happen. I didn't ruin the meal for us so all is well. Parking was relatively easy and there's tons of shops and things to check out down by the courthouse area nearby if you need to get in some steps after the Hardy breakfast. read more

I don't get the hype of this place. The two stars is just for the ambiance alone. It's very cute outside, as well as having a nice patio. When we arrived for lunch it was a 45 minute wait. We heard good things, so we stuck it out. Eventually we were sat and saw that lunch was primarily sandwiches with chips. If you want meat on your sandwich, prices start at 14$. I got the griz, which was $16. It wasn't anything special...just a sandwich with seemingly a package of chips. For that price, you have to put your own spin on it besides a catchy name. A friend got the Sir Lancelot panini for $19 and said it had zero flavor besides horseradish. The prime rib was not memorable. Due to the small portions and overall flavor, it was extremely unsatisfying. We ended up grabbing more food after we left. The table next to us was amazed by the flavor of their sandwiches, but I really don't get it. I'm glad they were happy, but we wouldn't be back. It 100% wasn't worth it for us. read more

We went to this restaurant for lunch-delicious. I ordered the Traveler sandwich which comes with ample kettle chips. This sandwich is basically a Caprese salad with pesto which was fantastic on a panini bun. The mushroom bisque is super rich --and needs a hit of sherry vinegar. A cup is plenty. This place is so charming! My girlfriend and I got stranded a couple nights in Prescott and decided to grab brunch on the way back home. Filled with books and charm, the interior is inviting and eclectic. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed my latte, too. Our waitress was so sweet, when she noticed us crying she offered care and when we left she gave us a big hug. I will say, the music didn't match the vibe. For the lord of the rings vibe something more fantasy would have pleased me as opposed to mainstream music haha. I would def visit again when I am back in town. read more

The service was slow and forgotten, they were out of several items and the food we received was poor at best. Flavorless fish and chips and the fish was very salty. Best part were the chips. My wife ordered the same dish as our first visit, Gnocchi with shrimp. First time great second time barely edible. Actually saw a reel about this place on instagram, planned ahead and got reservations. When we entered we were greeted by a gal (we wondered if she was in fact the dragon) who was rather grumpy when we asked if we could be seated earlier than our reservation. Ultimately we were seated early, and said dragon was very pleasant as we headed out. The ambiance is somewhere between library, pub and gastropub. We were tempted to pull a book off the shelf and read it, but we're afraid said dragon would slay us, so don't know if that's allowed. The seating is a combo of loveseats and wooden chairs & the walls are decorated in portraits of authors. There was a sideboard in our room that displayed a copy of Tom Clancy's The Bear and the Dragon (we assume this is the owner's favorite). We got cocktails because the names were so cute- I got the harvest margarita and my companion got the war and peace. Both were tasty but the HM was amazing! (Only downside as a sipper is that the cinnamon sugar rim starts to melt and makes the glass very sticky). We also got a starter, the chips and curry. The chips were well crisped and the curry was delightful, but not spicy if that's what you're looking for. My companion got the cottage pie which came in a large single serve casserole. She says it was sublime- extremely creamy mashed and perfect proportions of ingredients. I had the chicken special- a chicken leg and thigh fried without breading, with mashed and sautéed spinach on the side. For dessert it was cherry crumble with ice cream. The crumble had just enough saltiness to it, and the ice cream was very rich and ... well... creamy. The cherries were ok but tasted like they came out of a jar. The check comes tucked into the pages of a book. Nice touch. All in all, a lovely spot, but we both agree that they could commit more heavily to the literary theme. read more

Had breakfast here on a Friday morning and are so glad we picked this restaurant! The owners did a great job with the decor and leaning into the literary theme while creating a cozy cafe atmosphere. Despite being busy, the service was great. I loved the variety of their menu. I had the French omelette, my partner had the Steinbeck breakfast and we shared gluten free scones. The scones with jam and clotted cream were delicious and I so appreciate that they offered a gluten free version. We also ordered lattes. Came to this cute little place because I saw it on TikTok. Wasn't disappointed, we came here after dinner for dessert but I didn't know reservation was needed. The staff were so accommodating and we were seated in the patio which is so nice! I got a honey latte and my son got the Mexican chocolate latte. They were able to remake it because of the nutmeg. Me and a couple of gf's had a reservation. We were greeted by the most lovely lady EVER. She had adorable white boots. She got our silverware out of a cool drawer and gave us our menu on a clip board. The fellow who took us outside welcomed us to a nice table. There was live music and he played really well! Love this restaurant! I had their French Omelette and it was amazing. I met a friend there for lunch on a Tuesday. My friend is on a keto diet and I eat carnivore. This is the first restaurant I have been to that offered alternatives to their standard sides...they offered that we could substitute a side of bacon or sausage for the potatoes and toast! Thank you Bear and Dragon!!!! They also serve fantastic coffee, Americanos, specialty lattes and espressos. The servers and staff were well trained and very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable on the menu items and were able to answer our questions on how the food is prepared and to suggest menu items that would work well for us.
