The Beef Stroganoff at Badger's Den was a great choice. They have an extensive menu so we asked the waitress what she can recommend. My wife had the Chicken Alfredo and it was amazing as well. This is our second time at Badger's Den can't wait to go back again We started trying to eat at different restaurants around Prescott have gone back to a few favorites before moving on to others. If you haven't seen a post about your restaurant, I might not have been there yet. Prescott does have a great food scene, don't miss going to the Badger's Den.

We had an incredible experience with truly great food and amazing service from the moment we arrived. Our server, Stacy, went above and beyond by sharing the rich history of the place, even telling us how the dance floor has had over 150 years of shoes dancing across it, which made the evening feel even more special. We were there for a business dinner, and the vibe was perfectly fancy and professional, creating the perfect setting for meaningful conversation. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and served with such attention to detail, making the entire evening feel elegant, and memorable from start to finish.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PLACE AND EXPERIENCE! We were a group of 6 on our first visit, but it will DEFINITELY not be our last! We made a reservation earlier in the day and were promptly seated when we arrived. We ordered varied dishes and were all WOWed at the flavor and presentation. Michael was an attentive server and Ryan and Pat, the owners, came by to welcome us and ask how our meal was going. So, so hospitable! We will be back and will recommend to EVERYONE!

    Brisket Sandwich

We drove up to Prescott, Arizona yesterday for the first time so I wasn't familiar with the area. I opened Yelp to see what looked good for lunch. The Badger's Den caught my eye because of its high rating and cool name. I also read reviews on the brisket being excellent. A brisket sandwich sounded really good so we headed over at 3 PM. I'm thankful for Yelp because I would never have noticed this spot without it. It's easy to drive by because there isn't really a large sign out front. It's a nondescript red painted rectangular building. I was speaking to one of the waitresses about the history of the restaurant and she said that the current owner used to own a food truck, The Hungry Badger, and then became head chef here. When the owners needed to sell, he bought the place and continues to cook here. I loved the ambience and energy when we walked in. It did sort of feel like a badger's den with rich leather and dark browns and greens, and a large fireplace with a roaring fire that made it feel intimate, cozy, and elegant all at once. This is a casual dining spot so no need to dress up to come here. When we came in, we were asked if we had reservations and said no. We were seated immediately. Our server, Mariah, was just the greatest. She gave over the top service and friendliness from beginning to end. I asked for cherry Coke and she said she could make me one with grenadine and cherries from the bar. When I asked for a top off of Coca-Cola, she brought me a whole can and a glass of ice so that I could refill as I desired. As you can see on the bill, we were only charged for our two beverages. A bus boy made rounds and as our plates finished, he immediately cleared them. We ordered: - Clam Chowder Bowl (House-made) - Hubs ordered this as a starter and I tasted a bite. You can tell it is made from scratch. It is very good. You can also get the soup in a bread bowl, which is very tempting. - Brisket Sandwich - Smoked beef brisket, Swiss cheese, onion straws and pickles on a toasted bun. You can't get any better than this! I stuffed myself on this trip even though I had a long ride home because I couldn't stop eating this delicious sandwich. The brisket was cooked perfectly. My sandwich had brisket that was tender and flavorful and meaty with hardly any of the fat and gristle. I didn't need any barbecue sauce, but I wanted to try some anyway. The Swiss cheese, pickles and lightly toasted brioche bun were perfect with the brisket. The fries were also amazing so I had to be careful not to fill up on those. Luckily, hubs helped out. - Trio: 1/3 Rack, Brisket, Grilled Andouille Sausage. This comes with two sides and hubs ordered coleslaw and mac & cheese. The coleslaw is vinegar based with a lemon poppyseed dressing and is on the sweet side. The mac & cheese looked amazing. Aged Gouda is used and this is more of a thinner version rather than an ultra thick version of mac & cheese. Hubs also was amazed by the brisket. It was his favorite and he ate all of it first. The sausage was also good. That mustard barbecue sauce goes perfectly with the sausage. Hubs was full so he couldn't really eat the ribs. There's a lot of meat on this plate. They provide you with a bowl with some wet wipes and napkins for your rib bones. - Banana Pudding Pie to go - I really wanted to try a dessert here just because it's fun to share a dessert while trying out a new place but we were so full that we couldn't. Mariah, our server mentioned she could pack one to go. Sold! We took it to go and she was so sweet. She even packed utensils for us in case we got hungry on the journey home. There's a men's and women's restroom for customers. I noticed the patio as I was exiting the restroom and went to check it out because it looked so inviting with the open porch and screened windows letting in the perfect 60°F breeze. Steps led from the patio to below, and the server explained that they were building a little area out there that will have a bar and live music and places to sit. It is almost finished. There won't be food service, but there will be a bar with drinks and snacks. It's set against the pine trees and the mountain landscaping, giving a very peaceful and green view. In all, we had such a wonderful surprise lunch in Prescott for the few hours that we were up there. I look forward to returning and will stop by the Badger's Den.

Ask the Community - The Badger's Den

    Are reservations recommended?

YES! Would suggest doing so, during the week especially if it's around prime dinner time and peak hours on the weekends. They fill up quickly and aren't open late; so highly recommend making reservations.

Do they offer corkage service? If so what is the fee?

We offer a variety of wines and under our liquor license we do not allow outside alcohol

Is lobster always on the menu?

    I really don't know

Colt Grill is located on Whiskey Row and caddy corner from the Courthouse. It is easy to find and street parking is plentiful. Colt Grill has both indoor and outdoor uncovered seating which is so popular with the weather here. Inside it's a counter service restaurant with a bar that serves BBQ. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken platter that comes with slaw and cornbread for $17.50. I added the "meal deal" of 2 sides for $6 more and chose the sweet beans and Texas Toast because I wanted to try those side dishes in addition with what came with the meal. The meal was ready in less than 15 minutes. I immediately realized that I ordered too much food. Along with the 1/2 bird, the slaw and jalapeño cheese cornbread were full size sides. The beans and toast were too but then I did get to try them all so I wasn't complaining. The chicken looked perfect and was juicy and flavorful with a hint of smoke and a lot of taste. The cole slaw was cool and creamy and the big slice of cornbread moist and delicious. The beans had content in them with brisket and onions and looked great but were unfortunately dry. I would have been content to not order the two extra sides and save the $6. All in all the food was good tasting and affordable. I would have given a 4 score except for these negatives: First the dry beans. Second was for the flies buzzing around inside. Third was that they were out of some utensils and I had to use a child's fork to eat with. Evidently the dishwasher wasn't keeping up. Finally they have a sauce bar here with about 8 bbq sauces with descriptions to use which is neat. However, the 2 sauces that I wanted were out at the time. 3 of the 4 negatives were management related issues and may have not been the norm here however that is what I experienced. Colt Grill is a popular restaurant in Prescott that needs a little better organization. However, I would return on a future visit here.

I ordered the Philly with garlic butter fries (because why wouldn't I), and my girl got the smoked turkey club it, did come with a full bottle of mayo in it so maybe ask for light mayo if you order that , but the mac & cheese could bring a grown man to tears. 3/4 slapped harder than expected Now, I did make a rookie mistake at the bar. I Ordered a regular 805 like a chump... $6 for 16oz. Then I see this glorious 22oz mug you can buy for $14--first fill is FREE, and refills are only $7 forever after as long as you bring your mug. You mean I could've had a beer and a souvenir? Say less. I'm now emotionally attached to this mug. The patio is the move--plenty of space, good vibes, and dogs welcome. I'll be back, and next time I'm bringing friends, family, and probably some strangers too.

There was a young man/teenager working behind the counter and was super friendly, telling us that the Graham Canyon flavor was "grandpa approved." My mom got a scoop of that and the chocolate raspberry truffle while I got a scoop of the oatmeal cream pie and lemon bar. We really liked the Graham Canyon flavor, but found the raspberry in the chocolate raspberry truffle to be close to nonexistent. It was still a nice chocolate ice cream though. I loved both the oatmeal cream pie and lemon flavor, but I liked the oatmeal cream pie just a little bit more since there were larger chunks of the actual cookie in it. As we devoured our ice creams, we browsed around the store. Awesome staff, service, selection, and products. Definitely stop in here if you get the chance!
