We ordered the gumbo, chicken and shrimp étouffée, jerk chicken, greens, smashed smoked potatoes, andouille link, red beans and rice, and cornbread, and everything was absolutely delicious. I especially loved how well everything was packed. The food was very flavorful with a really nice level of spice. Nothing was overwhelmingly hot, but everything had enough kick to keep things interesting. The gumbo and étouffée were rich and perfectly seasoned, with a velvety sauce, and the jerk chicken (thighs for those that are curious) was packed with flavor. The greens were really interesting and unlike any other greens I've had (you must get this!), red beans and rice, and smashed smoked potatoes were all delicious, and the andouille added a great smoky, savory touch. The cornbread which is more savory as opposed to sweet was also the perfect accompaniment. The portions were generous, and we thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food we received. We ordered takeout and would absolutely come back to try more of the menu. This is a great take out place They have dialed it in in there selections I've had the bbq ribs, delish, but you have to pair it with the coleslaw. It's not the typical coleslaw. No mayo. There's a lot of spices and vinegar which isn't over powering. It's what I crave. Excellent etouffee, chicken & shrimp. I've always had it with crawfish, but this was excellent, perfectly spiced. Then I had a in house made bread pudding which was great. Choice of vanilla or bourbon sauce, I chose bourbon. Reasonable prices, adequate portions. Fast, friendly service. What a cute little place. They have about 6-8 tables. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The young lady who rung me up and brought out the food checked on me multiple times during the dinner. She was very friendly as were the rest of the staff. I had the special - fried catfish. A nice thick piece of fish coked very well with a cornmeal crust and a spice sauce. The Cole slaw was a rough cut style with little dressing but very tasty. The side of corn bread was also delicious. I was expecting a tonier sit-down restaurant, but Uncle Bud's is more of a strip-mall take-out luncheonette, six tables. Counterperson was friendly to a fault. I ordered the muffuletta because the photo looked mouth-watering; DW got the jerk chicken. Second time I have tried muffuletta, and the first one didn't thrill me, either -- I've decided I just don't like the dish. DW was not a fan of the jerk chicken, not that it was done badly -- she'd never had it, and it wasn't what she expected. But wait for it... later on that night in the RV, we opened up each other's take-home boxes. DW was thrilled with my muffuletta, and I found her jerk chicken a fantastic experience. My husband and I went here for lunch last Saturday due to a high rating on Yelp. We both got pulled pork sandwiches. I was surprised that the pork seemed very dry. Especially for a place that all they do is barbecue. I would expect it to be juicier. I kept adding more and more barbecue sauce, but it just didn't make it juicier. The flavor was ok. Uncle Buds is fantastic!! We ate there twice this week while in town. I make a delicious jambalaya and Uncle Buds was just as great or better. We ordered 1/4 rack rib, chuck roast, and jerk chicken with baked beans and Cajun greens as the sides. The jerk chicken was delicious with a hint of spice. The ribs were good , soft, not chewy. The chuck roast was soft and tender. The baked beans were sweet and soft. The Cajun greens were alright. Also, ordered the cream soda in the bottle. The place is very small, but from the moment you walk in, you know you found something special. I had the chicken & shrimp etoufee, which was wonderful. I am picky when it comes to food at restaurants. I tried Uncle Bud's for the first time--and I am wowed! I ordered the 2 meat BBQ platter with pulled pork, chuck roast, potato salad, red beans and rice, and cornbread, to go. The service was fast! It was a little busy at lunch time, but I got my order in less than 5 minutes. The meat serving was GENEROUS! Both the pork and beef were tender and delicious (though the pulled pork was just a tad bit dry). The BBQ sauce on it was just the way I like it--just a little sweet. The potato salad had the flavor just the way my momma made it--mayo and mustardy. The cornbread was served as a mini cornbread loaf with butter. Yelp led me to Uncle Bud's this week for dinner. It's hard to find being on the back corner of a large shopping center. Inside it's a small counter service restaurant that has about 5-6 small tables. I ordered the smoked cajun chuck roast platter for $15. I chose baked beans and smoked mashed potatoes with some brown gravy on top for the two sides given. The meal came with a piece of cornbread and was ready in less than 10 minutes. First of all the servings were quite generous size wise. The chuck roast came with some sweet bbq sauce drizzled on top which I wasn't expecting. The meat was good tasting and mostly tender. It was a good roast. The mashed potatoes did have a hint of smoke in their taste and with the gravy was very good tasting. Finally the baked beans had a thick sauce and were also tasty. I enjoyed this meal. Uncle Bud's is a family owned restaurant with reasonable prices. The owners story is on the menu and the interior has local area decor. Great friendly service!! Mom & Pop's relaxed ambiance. We had lunch including 2 different soups which were excellent and we shared a muffuletta sandwich which was delicious. We wished the olive salad included more than the mixture of chopped olives (green and black). We were looking for the more complex ingredients we usually get on a muffuletta including pickled vegetables like celery, carrots, and cauliflower, and garlic. Still a great meal!
