The brisket was as hard and dried out like the bottom of a shoe. Turns out that most of the ribs were too. Don't get me started on what they called cornbread muffin, very dry. could've cut it up and used it for a croutons on a salad.... Having changed hands a few times this is as good as it gets. Big H bbq is a place where all is good. There sauces are delicious and yes they have beer. I ordered the sample platter which consisted of pulled pork ribs and brisket. Accompanied by sweet potato fries. This bbq is real good. Food was good BUT kind of cold bbq expected to be warm at least. It wasn't this hurt the vibe of enjoying the meal. The other disappointment. It's TEXAS bbq. The played AWFUL music . I asked why. This place is lights out barbacue! You can really taste the Texas post oak that he uses on the smoker the ribs and the brisket is so tender. Definitely best barbecue I've had in Arizona and we've eaten at a lot of places. You gotta get the hatch cream, corn and beans are also really good! 5 star BBQ for sure! read more

Where there is nothing, there is something and it's a newer BBQ place, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and fries and they had 4 different sauces you could choose from ,I liked them all. The decor is ranch, rodeo, western style, doesn't overwhelm you, not cluttered, very clean, or server was very nice she checked on us few times and talked with us, which I thought was nice felt like we had a warm welcome, the only thing I would enhance would be the lighting outside to prevent a trip hazard at night, when trying to find way in or out after dark. read more

Hubby & I visited the Prescott Valley area today & decided to give Big "H" BBQ a try. We were immediately greeted with a smile & "Welcome in" upon entering. As it was our first time there we took time checking out the menu & special board. Hubby loves brisket so that's always a first choice, followed by fries (he's not big on most side dishes due to allergies) I noticed the chili on the special board so we placed our order. The restaurant is busy as it's the end of the lunch time rush. We found a table & started admiring the decor. Cute western themed prints/pictures hung on the wall. I loved that you could actually purchase the pictures there or check out the photographers website with the links provided. Yes, I checked out the link. Our food arrived & the serving size was perfect. Hubby's brisket was good with amazing flavor. The fries had a crazy cut (check the picture) & were hot & delicious. My chili was amazing, with huge chunks of brisket & spicy. The owner/chef came by the table to see how everything was & we mentioned loving the chili & he mentioned it was brand new to the menu he was still working on the recipe. I said my only suggestion would be to make the tomatoes smaller (that's my opinion & I understand some like chunks of tomatoes where I don't) otherwise it was amazing. Stopped in on our way back to Phoenix after some sightseeing. The small staff greeted us on arrival and answered some menu questions. The smoked meats were exceptionally tasty and tender. The assortment of sauces provided were all good, even though prickly pear isn't my favorite. For sides, we had the green chile creamed corn and fries. The corn was homemade, and delicious. I asked what could be done quickly and the server was very helpful and even went above and beyond asking the cook if what I wanted was able to be done in my time frame. I got the smoked Ruben and creamed corn, it was delicious, fresh and obviously home made with quality meat. Creamed corn had a kick which I liked. Spoke to the pitmaster and he's been cooking for 40 years...and it shows. I ordered the Smoked Ruben and it was outstanding. My wife ordered the pulled pork and that was amazing as well. I pushed my luck by asking for a small sample of their brisket, which they were happy to provide, and it was very good as well. If you like BBQ, definitely give them a try now. This is fantastic Texas BBQ! The four of us ate ribs, brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, onion tangles, hatch Chile creamed corn, sweet potato fries, and peach cobbler with ice cream and it was all SPECTACULAR! Like every good BBQ joint, you order your food at the counter and it's brought to you on a sheet pan with brown paper. Their 4 sauces are also delicious. My wife and I visited Prescott Valley, AZ for the day and I will NEVER go back. It has become a cesspool for rude people. On our way out of town, we stopped at Hassayampa Smokehouse on the North side of the road. We had the brisket sandwich and tried each of their three BBQ sauces . Let me tell you!! They were all great. The brisket was great, the sauces were great! The people were great! I even talked to the owner and got some history of the name and the restaurant. I wish I had asked his name but he seemed very happy to talk with us and share his story. WOW! Stop by and try it out. I will go out of my way to visit them again. The food is expensive, therefore i thought better to say something than watch another food place close. After interaction with the 20 yr old, I figured well, another place gone under. This place is an absolute gem and I really hope they get more and more business and eventually expand. I had the brisket burnt ends the other day and this is what barbecue should be all about. The bark on the brisket is fantastic and the brisket is moist and rich with fat. I judge all BBQ places by their brisket and this one is now my favorite place to go. I've only done carryout, but the service I received on my call in order was great. She offered to throw in all the different bbq sauces to try and was very pleasant when I picked up. The place is quaint and looking forward to dining in one day. The BBQ beans were really good and their cornbread is just how I like it. I did have the green chili creamed corn and it was pretty good, just a little too vinegary for my liking but good nonetheless. The Mac n cheese was standard no frills. I would recommend that they smoke the Mac n cheese and that would elevate it 100%. We stopped in for the 1st time on our way back from Scottsdale about 2 weeks ago. Ordered ribs and beans to -go for that night's dinner. The ribs were obviously not smoked or cooked long enough as they didn't have a smoky flavor, & the fat along the bone was still there, as well as being tough to chew. I emailed their "contact us" on their website the next day to let them know in hopes that they could use our experience to improve on their product, but they never even responded.
