Black fries!
Simon W.

We went to this place for sunday brunch and were able to snag a table with some shade. The patio was full 5 minutes after opening. We were in a group of 4 and brought along our corgi, George. Service was good and the place filled up quickly. I was a bit surprised when I saw their beverage menu, as with a name like 'Barley Hound' you might imagine they have a decent selection of beers. They do not. They had 2 lagers and a hazy IPA. They also say they have rotating taps, but not available when we visited. They do have some interesting cocktails which were well received. I ordered the 'Merica burger and my wife ordered the Duck burger. Wife did like the duck burger (which actually is a mix of duck and ground beef). We also ordered the dog beef which comes on a frisbee and consists of rice and ground beef. My 'Merica burger was ordered medium rare and came to me fully cooked but I was so hungry I could not handle waiting another 15 minutes so I ate it. I will say that my fries were also overcooked and black, not sure if its older oil or the potatoes were not in great shape. As I write this, I wonder why I did not send it right back, but I think I just decided to suck it up and enjoy the company and the day. Poor George got his meal a bit later and was in a bowl, not a frisbee and was the stingiest portion of food I have ever seen in my life. It was maybe 3 tiny bits of beef and 2 teaspoons of rice. For $8. At this point, they are just taking liberties with peoples trust. (And yes, I wanted to put something else there) You may get decent food here. You may not. If you get something that is not to your liking, tell them and they will take care of you hopefully. Its busy and has a nice menu, but I feel the prices are a bit much for Prescott and its clearly targeting tourists from elsewhere.

Cosmo for the season!

Such a lovely place! My companion started with a cosmo- it was refreshing and fruity and not overly sweet. For dinner we had beef stew and duck fat fries. They were kind enough to split the stew two ways. The stew, made with their short rib, could have had had a little more seasoning but it was very pleasant. Our bellies were delightfully full, so we took the flourless chocolate cake to go- when we ate it later it was like eating a truffle. Our server Adelle was very friendly as well.

We ended up at the Barley hound because of JD's grill being so full and over an hour. Wait we were seated instantly with the party of eight and food was delicious. Drinks were impeccable. The server did a great job with the place being so full. Definitely a fun experience will be back..

Foofy menu. With a large group. We sat on the patio. There was a fire pit and they provided blankets for those dining outside. It was 56 degrees! Brrrr. Service for the most part as good, but my hubby's condiments never arrived, so he didn't eat. Took awhile to get our tabs and neither of us were impressed with the food.

The place was great!! The burger was delicious but the fish sandwich was regrettable too soggy for me. They have a dog menu and they serve it on frisbees; our dogs love it. Go there, have a drink and take your dogs

The waitress was great, her service was wonderful ! The food was rich in flavor and shareable portions. Cute interior and the outside is a great set up! It was cold out so my minor daughter and I sat inside, and unfortunately, the heavy smell of marijuana and marijuana smoke coming from the men in the kitchen really ruined the vibe! I came home and my sweater smelled like weed smoke. I might come back, if I do, I'll make sure it's warm and I'll sit outside!

We loved this place! The renovated house is so cute and charming. We lived there front patio. There is so much room out there and they are super dog friendly, which I love. We ordered drinks and just enjoyed the patio.

In town for the summer and drove past this place many many times. Decided to go in and check it…read moreout. They have a wide variety on their menu. Place itself is homey & sort of country. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner with breakfast being served all day. They also have a salad bar with all the fixings that my husband indulged in. Besides salad, they also had Taco shells, tortillas, and taco meat, with three types of soup, muffins, and soft serve ice cream! One price for all you can eat !! In the morning, this is actually a breakfast buffet. I decided to have a cheeseburger and upgraded to the onion rings. The burger was great! The onion rings were a little bit more breaded than I prefer, but they still tasted very good. Service was great and the staff is super friendly. If you want more of a home-cooked type of a meal... this is your place.!!

The atmosphere has that classic, old-school family diner feel, which can be charming. The building is definitely showing its age, though, and could use a little TLC. Even without a full renovation, a deep cleaning would go a long way in freshening up the space. I've ordered the chili relleno omelette both times, served with breakfast potatoes and a muffin. It's packed with flavor and has just the right amount of spice--for someone who thinks toothpaste is spicy! The first one was a little creamier, but both were outstanding. On our first visit, my husband had a BBQ sandwich (of some sort) with French fries, and he really enjoyed it. The second time, he decided to try the A1 Burger with a side of zucchini "coins" (which, amusingly, weren't actually round). He was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the burger was, and it was cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu. Maybe one of these visits we'll even give in and try the salad and taco bar!

I had a terrific patty melt with a porter, but the real standout was the beer-battered onion rings. Special is the word. If you have even the slightest liking for onion rings, you have to try these--they're that good. Crisp, flavorful, and worth ordering even if you weren't planning to. Service was friendly, the food hit the spot, and it felt like one of those places you look forward to returning to. One of these days I'm coming back for one of their adult shakes. And the fries were crispy as well as I could tell fresh. My family got other stuff like fish and chips and fish tacos. The coleslaw was delicious as it wasn't too salty or sweet. And the the restaurant itself is a cute little place, but it's nothing special at all. I would recommend trying it to see how it is if you are new to Prescott. But I wouldn't recommend going to it all the time because it could've been better.

They have a large inside eating area but also a beautiful patio and the weather was perfect! I had the prickly pear cider, which was dry but crisp. They let my friend sample multiple wines before picking, which I thought was great choice and the pours were generous. They only have beer and wine from what I saw but a large selection! For dinner my grandpa had the beet salad which he really enjoyed but heavy on the dressing. My grandma had the chicken wrap, also delicious and enough for two meals! My friend and I shared the mahi mahi tacos and a chicken quesadilla. The portion was perfect. The tacos were phenomenal, some of the best I've had. The quesadilla was also huge with good salsa. I recommend their green hot sauce, it was spicy but not too hot and paired well with the tacos and quesadilla! Will definitely be a Prescott favorite!

When we finally get up to the register, we tried to order breakfast at 11:02 and the cashier sharply told us we just stopped serving breakfast at 11:00. She felt rude when she said to us as well, but that's just our opinion. I understand swapping the menu over at a certain time and gearing the kitchen towards a lunch focused menu, but we were in line WELL BEFORE 11 am, and the person in front of the person in front of us, ordered breakfast! I'm usually not someone to write a review on anything, much less a negative one, but I feel like a little understanding would've been appropriate. We ended up getting a wonderful breakfast around the corner at The Cowboy Kitchen. (Wayyyy better vibe anyway.)
