Adorable house restaurant in Prescott! It was a beautiful fall day. After a hike we were ready to eat some lunch. We sat outside in front of the house. it was perfect. I started with a glass of wine. For lunch, I ordered their beet salad and the kids wanted chicken tenders. The fries were so good!!! My salad was ok. We went to this place for sunday brunch and were able to snag a table with some shade. The patio was full 5 minutes after opening. We were in a group of 4 and brought along our corgi, George. Service was good and the place filled up quickly. I was a bit surprised when I saw their beverage menu, as with a name like 'Barley Hound' you might imagine they have a decent selection of beers. They do not. They had 2 lagers and a hazy IPA. They also say they have rotating taps, but not available when we visited. They do have some interesting cocktails which were well received. I ordered the 'Merica burger and my wife ordered the Duck burger. Wife did like the duck burger (which actually is a mix of duck and ground beef). We also ordered the dog beef which comes on a frisbee and consists of rice and ground beef. My 'Merica burger was ordered medium rare and came to me fully cooked but I was so hungry I could not handle waiting another 15 minutes so I ate it. I will say that my fries were also overcooked and black, not sure if its older oil or the potatoes were not in great shape. As I write this, I wonder why I did not send it right back, but I think I just decided to suck it up and enjoy the company and the day. Poor George got his meal a bit later and was in a bowl, not a frisbee and was the stingiest portion of food I have ever seen in my life. It was maybe 3 tiny bits of beef and 2 teaspoons of rice. For $8. At this point, they are just taking liberties with peoples trust. (And yes, I wanted to put something else there) You may get decent food here. You may not. If you get something that is not to your liking, tell them and they will take care of you hopefully. Its busy and has a nice menu, but I feel the prices are a bit much for Prescott and its clearly targeting tourists from elsewhere. read more

Such a lovely place! My companion started with a cosmo- it was refreshing and fruity and not overly sweet. For dinner we had beef stew and duck fat fries. They were kind enough to split the stew two ways. The stew, made with their short rib, could have had had a little more seasoning but it was very pleasant. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and loved it. However, this time, I ordered the short rib and received what I believe was simply pot roast with canned gravy. I have never had to use a knife to cut short ribs! In addition to this, it was served with carrots and sweet potatoes - both are orange - not an appealing palate. A prof chef would know that! Absolutely fantastic restaurant find in Prescott. We arrived on a chilly night and asked to sit inside, although they do have heaters on the patio as well. The interior is moody (but not too dark), and the details impeccable. The drinking glasses beautiful, plates and cutlery nice as well (it makes a big difference!), and the staff were all so kind and attentive. I ordered the mac and cheese as a side to my veggie burger (both delicious!) but next time I think I could just do the mac! (And I'm picky with my mac and cheese... lol). Horrible experience. We made reservations and came for dinner last night to celebrate my and my mother in law's back-to-back birthdays. We were right on time for our reservation and immediately seated right next to two or three packed tables on an otherwise empty patio. The people next to us were having a normal, animated conversation and not being particularly loud, but due to the sheer proximity, it meant that conversation was damn near impossible over all the competing voices. Once our server came, 30 minutes after we were seated, I told them to move us one table over to give us some distance from the other diners. (By the time our server appeared, 30 minutes after we'd sat down, we were actually just seconds from getting up and walking out.) We placed our orders, opting to just skip celebratory cocktails because we were already annoyed with the bad service by this point and didn't want to add a new, element of annoyance and disappointment with $16 drinks. I ordered the risotto ($16) with an added mushroom (extra $4). My husband ordered the pork chops ($36), my daughter got the plain macaroni and cheese ($15), and my mother-in-law got a beet salad ($18). The food arrived a full hour after we were seated. When I tell you it was almost inedible, I'm not kidding. My risotto was cold, congealed, unseasoned, and CRUNCHY. The $4 mushroom was tiny...TEENY TINY. No more than 4 or 5 little bite-sized pieces. My husband said he thought they'd forgotten to add the mushroom. I asked the server for salt and pepper to try to season my bland food, and it took them 5 minutes to bring me salt and pepper shakers. It should have taken less than 30 seconds to find them and bring them to my table. My daughter's macaroni and cheese was tricolor rotini pasta in a cold, congealed, flavorless, gritty cheese sauce. She refused to eat it and I don't blame her. The husband's pork chops were wildly, puckeringly oversalted and bone dry. They were served smothered in fried onions and bell peppers. As bad as his food was it was miles ahead of my and my daughter's inedible dishes. The only appetizing thing at the table was my mother in law's beet salad and while I did not try it, she said it was just "okay". We'd been here once before a few years ago and liked it, as you can see in my older review. I'm not sure what the heck changed, but this experience was shockingly bad. It was an overall insulting experience. From the RSVP form asking if we were celebrating an event and then not acknowledging it, to seating everyone in a noisy cluster of tables in an empty restaurant so that you had to shout to have any conversation, to the ridiculous wait for a server and then the wait for food, to the inedible and overpriced food, we'll never bother coming back. read more

If you're looking for a place downtown that's out of the busy streets of downtown Prescott this is the place to go! I would firstly recommend calling and making reservations. We didn't know that's a bit more preferred so we had to sit outside and it was a cold and windy day with eta looked like rain on the way. The staff was helpful in giving us blankets to cover our legs and a table side gas heater which did help. The music they played had a really good vibe to it which made the dining experience that much more enjoyable. The food came out relatively quick, service was great although it did take a bit for someone to actually come over to take an order, once we asked we had several come over to take care of us throughout or time there. Great team work on their part. We kind of had a smorgasbord of things to try. For starters we had Poutine Fries, Stuffed Zucchini Blooms (which were hands down the best thing I had), and the Bacon Mac and Cheese. The Mac wasn't the best and the least favorite of everyone's. You could tell there was too much flour added to the roux and didn't get mixed/cooked in well. For main courses I had the Burrata, although it's an appetizer I had it for my main dish, it was really good although I wish there was a bit more of the sauces it came with (pesto and such) but it was still very tasty, It also came with grilled grapes which was a first for me and they too were very good, and I don't eat grapes. One friend ordered the Duck Burger and enjoyed every bite saying it was the best he ever had and another friend had the Fish Sandwich. She loved it and the homemade tartar sauce. For dessert the table had the Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Mousse. The Bread putting was beyond words. So very flavorful. The Chocolate Mousse was a fail as it was really thick and on the more dense side verses light, airy and creamy. Overall it is still a place I will definitely go to again when I visit Prescott and would recommend to anyone who is going up there too. read more

There are only two good things I can say about this place one is that the service was phenomenal. Our server was Brittney. She made sure to answer our questions address our concerns and make recommendations. The second is the burrata, Yum! The Mac and cheese was legitimately terrible. It was $2 extra to add jerk seasoning and $6 extra for chicken. I imagined I was going to get a sliced breast for $6 but it was just a couple of dice chicken pieces tossed in. The pasta was overcooked mush, the cheese sauce was grainy, and the flavor was weak. The short rib grilled cheese was hardly a grilled cheese. There was a singular piece of cheese on the sandwich that didn't even serve as glue to hold it together. The flavor was also lacking in the meat. And then the fact that I was sweating did not help. It was 87 degrees and their answer to this is a giant fan blowing obnoxiously and loudly toward the front door. The last time we ate here it was before COVID and during winter and it was FREEZING inside. Clearly not a new to them problem and probably something they should address. Anyway, I would not recommend this place for dinner. Appetizers and drinks if the weather is perfect otherwise I will avoid it. read more

We've been here twice with our dogs. The first time, the food was exceptional - we ordered steak frites with chimchurri sauce, fish sandwich & stuffed zucchini blossoms. The waiter Nick was also exceptional and friendly and really loved on our dogs! The second time, we got a different server even though we requested Nick. The steak frites was cold, the fish sandwich wasn't as tasty and the waiter was aloof. We'll try this place again and hope we get the 5 star experience of the first time! read more

This was just a few blocks from the center of town. They had a big patio with heaters, and also they provided lap blankets, which was a nice touch. They added mint to their bottle water service too. We tried a little bit of everything. From the menu, it looks like they offer what I would call elevated bar food. Started with the zucchini flowers, poutine, and mac & cheese with bacon. The Mac & cheese was my least favorite as it had way too much cheese sauce & it tasted like the flour in the rue wasn't cooked out all the way because it had a bit of a gritty texture, the bacon wasn't crispy, but the pasta was nice and al dente. Probably the only thing we wouldn't reorder. Everything else was delicious. The star of the show was definitely the zucchini flowers, they were so good, we ordered another plate of them. The poutine was really good, the fries were thick and seasoned well, the gravy was delicious, and the cheese curds were yummy. The Fish sandwich came with the same fries cooked in duck fat, very flavorful. The fish sandwich was tasty; it came with their house-made tartar sauce. I don't like tartar sauce usually, but this was very good. The Duck Burger was decadent and juicy, the Burrata We ordered the chocolate mousse and bread pudding for dessert, hard to pick a favorite, they were both scrumptious.
