We started with the fries and the goat cheese & onion bread, which were both incredible. The lemon aioli served with the fries was absolutely to die for! Then came the bill... only $64?! I've been to this restaurant several times. I will say that food is very good. I love the mussels and the crabcakes. One of my pet peeves when dining with friends whether it's eight of them in which case I'm a little more lenient or another person is that the food comes out at different times so I am almost done eating before my friend gets her food because cold mussels aren't good and my french fries come out after her crabcakes came out .when we dined on another occasion our order was lost and we were asked if we would like our check and we had only gotten salads. As I said good food, usually good service, but the timing needs some work, especially given the prices that are being charged. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. read more

We've been to willow tree twice now but I am behind in my reviews! First time was 5/16 and we just went again on 7/23. It's a cute little restaurant with an outdoor patio but we sat inside. Shelby was our server both times (easy to remember as it's my sister's name) and she was so friendly and attentive. They have a large wine selection including a few flights. I had the Spanish flight the first time which had a really cute presentation and this time I had a nice glass of rose. Everything we've tried on both visits was delicious. Night quality ingredients. We did have the get the mushrooms both times because they are just that good. I had the beef skewer and shrimp from the tapas on our first visit and this time I got the crab cakes from the entrees. Yum yum yum! My only critique is that it's a bit too bright and the ambiance would feel better with a bit softer lighting. But that had great music playing both times too. The fries were also tasty and come with both ketchup and a cream based dipping sauce (a better match to the truffle flavor than ketchup). Not sure what the creamy sauce was but it complimented well. I had the blacked fish tacos - good and my hubby had the crab cakes which he said were very good, but instead of the roasted potato that were on the menu, they came with more fries as they no longer have the potatoes on the menu. He ended up with a Sid salad instead as we didn't want more fires. The salad was pretty bland, mostly lettuce, thus removing a star. The drinks menu was extensive with both spirits and wines and our server was very pleasant. Overall, not the typically healthy style restaurant we like best, but worth a try. read more

It was our first time visiting yesterday. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. This is a nice venue for lunch or dinner more intimate. It's not a sports bar, so if you're looking to be loud or obnoxious this isn't the place for you. There is a nice variety of food choices. Menu ranges from tapas to larger portion dishes. We ordered the cod tacos (3) which were amazing and more than enough for a dinner, flat bread with blue cheese ,caramelized onion, and a beef w cheese in wine sauce. the meat was tender but the dish was overly salty. I think next time we'd try the beef skewers. Overall I'd give it a 4. Prices range from $10-$24. Our server Shelby was attentive, personable and kind. I went to the Willow Tree Tapas & Wine yesterday. My friend was a little late as she was making funeral arrangements for her father. When she got there we talked and cried. Some grapes spilled and we struck up a conversation with the two ladies sitting next to us. They are really sweet and we talked and laughed. My friend had not laughed since her Dad passed. A couple walk in and the woman starts shushing us. Now 3 of us are retired and my friend is 30 something. None of us are children to be shushed. Mr Puffy Jacket (it was 90 yesterday) and his Lizard Bride walk in and start telling us not to laugh. To be quiet, shush. I said this is not a library. Phillip the manager did nothing. He should have asked to reseat them if they didn't want to sit by us. He did nothing. Mr Puffing Jacket stands up in a threatening manner. I went to the bar to get my bill and asked why they are doing nothing about the man who called my friend a dumb b___h.He cursed at her because she said "Oh I get it, you're from California" My friend, myself and the two ladies that we had met there are never going back. We were all so upset for the crime of laughter. Next Thursday we are in search of an establishment that allows laughter. All 4 of us are looking else where. Phillip you're just the manager, not the owner. That was great, but only came with two pieces at happy hour. Then we had the jalapeño hummus. I'm sorry, but it just seemed completely tasteless and so did the cheese that came with it. The beer is normally priced at eight dollars and you can get it for two dollars off at happy hour. They had spellbinder and church music. I did enjoy my beer. I guess you should try it and decide for yourself. I don't think I'll go back just because it wasn't for me even though it's really close to my house. read more

Having travelled through Spain where tapas is a nearly an obsession we were thrilled to see a tapas and wine bar open in Prescott, particularly when several menu items were true Spanish tapas dishes. The restaurant has been open for over 6 months so my wife and I decided to give it a try and I made us a 730pm reservation. When we arrived our server was very pleasant but promptly advised us that the kitchen closed at 800pm. I was surprised. Number 1, it would have been nice to know this when I made a 730pm reservation as I could have adjusted our start time. Secondly, 8p is lame even by Prescott standards and particularly for tapas which is traditionally a casual and extended late evening dining experience. That being said, we sat, ordered a glass of wine and ordered an initial selection; Patatas Bravas and Gambas al Ajillo, both of which are common in tapas bars in Spain. I'll start with the Patatas Bravas; terrible. It looked like Ore Ida potatoes dumped from a bag and lightly coated with an uninspired sauce. The gambas was not much better. My wife actually had to ask for salt to give it some flavor. We very quickly (because the kitchen was closing) ordered a few additional plates; my wife got crab cakes, I ordered the salmon skewer followed by mussels and we shared an order of goat cheese and caramelized onions. My wife said that the crab cakes were very good. The rest of the meal was bland and mediocre. In addition, because we arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen closed the entire process was rushed. I might add, when we arrived the patio seating had a group of 4 seated and a couple who arrived minutes prior to us. Between 730 and 8p, eight additional people arrived. A group of four sat at 745p and I could hear their surprise when the server told them the kitchen was closing. Again, if you run a tapas and wine bar and hope to serve a clientele who understand tapas, 8p is a little early for closing. I'll speak next to the location. The restaurant is right on Willow Creek road. Even at 8p the traffic noise is loud. The ambiance on the patio was lovely but the noise from passing cars and motorcycles interrupted the dining experience. The price point for this restaurant would be acceptable if the food was good, which it isn't and you could enjoy dining which we didn't. With the tip we spent over $160 on marginal food and minimal atmosphere. I will say that the two servers we had were very nice and did a great job. We will not be returning to this restaurant. read more
