After having a disappointing experience at Mariposa, I decided to try this restaurant because so many locals recommended it. I'm so glad I did! From the moment we arrived, the hostess was incredibly welcoming and seated us right away. She gave us a wonderful table on the patio with a beautiful view, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrées, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our server, Melissa, was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our meal. I also celebrated my birthday week here, and this restaurant completely turned my day around after my earlier disappointment. Stopped in here for dinner this evening. Our reservation was booked last minute and the only time slot left available was 8:30 - totally fine, no worries there. We arrived about 15 minutes early and were told our table wasn't ready, so we sat at the bar for a drink while we waited. The drinks were good, but very expensive to order a mixed cocktail. Again, we're on vacation, so no cause for complaint. Our table was ready fairly quickly, and we ordered appetizers immediately. The whipped feta app is delicious, and the smoked salmon burrata is a must! I must credit our server, Kayla. As she was explaining the entree menu, she placed our app order in the meantime and they came out to the table in less than 5 minutes. Service was incredibly fast. Our main entrees came out very quick as well. My mom ordered the half rack of ribs, which is really like a full rack- FYI, and said they were just okay. She loved the French fries and the coleslaw. I had the baked stuffed shrimp. It was pretty good, just too much sauce for me personally. I would've loved to have been able to taste the crab stuffed shrimp better with lighter / lesser amount of sauce, but the pesto fettuccine which came alongside was phenomenal. We in a fairly good meal experience, however, because our reservation began at 8:30, and they close at 9, you could tell they were trying to push us out. The fries were perfectly crispy and salted. The turkey sandwich had a generous portion of cheese layered on top of avocado, tomatoes, and tasty turkey. The pot pie had a nice, flakey layered crust and the filling was creamy and delicious! The southwestern chicken pasta had a great variety of flavors! Lastly, we stuffed ourselves with their peach cobbler topped with decadent vanilla ice cream. The textures together were delightful! Service: Super quick and professional! Beautiful atmosphere in Sedona, but be prepared for a wait. We waited about 45 minutes, and the table turnover isn't very fast, so expect a long wait during peak hours. For starters, the beer battered calamari and dynamite shrimp had very strong Asian-inspired flavors. As for the Hudson Mushroom Burger, it's served on ciabatta-style bread rather than a standard bun, making it feel more like a sandwich. It was good, but I wouldn't call it the best I've had. The bison burger was so incredibly delicious. Bison is such a lean, healthier red meat. It's definitely a favorite of mine, so when I saw it on the menu, I knew I had to order it. The chopped salad was the perfect accompaniment with its fresh avocado and corn. The portions were perfect for sharing! I would always recommend a reservation. The restaurant was more than accommodating on having a seat with a view on the inside, especially as it was a bit of a warmer day. We came here twice in a span of two days. Sedona was very slow during our visit due to the fire nearby but this restaurant was busy and lively which we loved as other restaurants in the area were dead. The first night we sat in the bar area and our waiter was taking care of a large birthday group which resulted in being neglected for the majority of the night. It took 15 minutes for him to come back and take our order and at the end he had me pay for someone else's bill by accident which was resolved. The second night we sat in the main area and the service was excellent. Despite all this I am giving this place 4 stars because the food and drinks are excellent. My Paloma was outstanding. We are regulars to Sedona (coming for 30yrs) and have a lot of favorites that we cannot go to on every trip. We are so glad we decided to move The Hudson up on the rotation. We made a reservation for 5p and were able to sit on the patio for an amazing sunset, meal and having the great pleasure of Brooks serving us. Given that Brooks has been working at The Hudson since it opened 10yrs ago it's no surprise that we recognized him. We will always ask for Brooks when we come back. The chef (who is the owner) pays a great attention to detail. Everything we ordered was uniquely, well presented and generous and that's in top of having such wonderful flavors. We started with both of us getting the Stone Fruit Old Fashion and it was perfectly balanced. We orders the Roasted Beet Salad and they split it in the kitchen and each portion looked like its own unique plating. We paired the salad with the Brie & Apples. For dinner I got the Baked stuffed Shrimp and my husband got the Grilled Pork Chop. We knew we couldn't eat all of these dishes, but didn't want to not get them as we were passing on other great dishes. From start to finish Hudson nailed it. Our reservation allowed us to be seated promptly on Thanksgiving. Sarah was our server and provided us with top knotch service. Indoor and outdoor seating offered beautiful views Their holiday menu was pre-fixe with about 4 choices. Turkey, lamb chop, Salmon or a beef filet. Each protein was served with a corn chowder or a ginormous salad with a tasty ancho chilli balsamic dressing. All the sides were piled onto the plates that one would expect on Thanksgiving. Also the service is very slow Our waitress was so slow and inconsiderate that I had to go ask for the check cuz she hardly checked on us. After a brisk walk, we found ourselves near the Hudson on the way back to our hotel. My goal was truly to admire the sunset from the beautiful lookout point at our hotel, but instead, I was given the gift of a beautiful sunset at the Hudson. With the right table, this certainly comes close to the best sunset in the states! I do not recommend it, but we were lucky to grab a spot indoors near a westward facing window without a wait. From the subtly sweet prickly pear margarita to the chicken dish smothered in beurre blanc, I recommend it all. This being our first meal in Sedona, they set the bar high! We rolled into Sedona late on our first night, after dark, and quickly picked The Hudson for a bite. We were seated right away and had no idea what kind of view sat behind those windows. We truly couldn't see a thing. We were just there for food. We started with the meatballs, which were incredibly flavorful, tender, and delicious. A little on the salty side, but still some of the best I've had. We also ordered the bison burger but subbed it with the triple-blend ground beef patty, and my partner said it was the best burger he's ever had. And he takes his burgers seriously!! We ended up coming back two days later during the daylight because this had been our favorite meal in Sedona (most other places fell short). That's when we finally saw what everyone talks about...the panoramic red rock views were absolutely stunning.
