    Salmon cakes and prosecco

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Consistently good food, beverages, service (very attentive), and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once again they are on point with salmon cakes and a very good prosecco.

We were visiting our friends in the Prescott area and had lunch here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated outside and looking around the place it definitely could use a good dusting and cleaning up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were also a lot of gnats hanging around due to the close vicinity of water stream.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was ok and food came out fast. Overall here are my ratings: Fried green tomatoes- 4/5 Chicken empanadas- 0/5 Calamari frita- 3/5 Jamaican pork belly tacos- 0/5 Chicken flautas- 3/5 Barry's chorizo hash- 1/5 Lamb chops- 5/5 (but you are given a small portion) It was a fun time but wouldn't be back when we go visit again!

    Nuevo Camarones

My boyfriend and I took a trip out to AZ and found this place on Reddit after a 4hr hike in Senoda-- we would agree that it definitely lives up to the hype! And it was super busy when we went on a Monday night, which should already say a lot. 100% suggesting making a reservation as this place is busyyy For appetizers, we ordered spinach artichoke dip & crab cakes from the tapas menu, and for our mains we got the Nuevo Camarones, Tri Tip + Mac, and Tandoori Salmon. Crab Cakes: Really good crab cakes, moist, flavorful, great portion for the price & it even included chips! Wish it came with a wedge or two of lemon but still super yummy. Spinach Artichoke Dip: Super generous portion, amazing flavor, cheese was super melty & just overall a really comforting and tasty appetizer. If you are thinking of ordering this to share between two people, you might get full off of this appetizer alone. Nuevo Camarones: HUGE portion, lowkey enough for two people to share, and comes with bread and about 6 pieces of jumbo sized shrimp. Awesome presentation and flavor, it's almost like a southwest spin on shrimp alfredo but with pearl couscous. Super fun and flavorful dish that I would order again. Jammin Tri-Trip and Mac: Mid, tri tip was overcooked and underseasoned, and the mac and cheese was bland and made with penne. I'm trying not to dog on this dish more than necessary because we sent it back, but I would skip and order something else if you were eyeing this one. Our lovely server Jennie offered a replacement so we got the Tandoori Salmon. Tandoori Salmon: Amazing!! And a great step up from the Tri Tip & Mac as a redemption meal. Salmon was cooked perfectly, portion was massive, and the flavors I typically wouldn't envision together worked out super well to make a delicious meal. The "tandoori" element in the dish is a lightly curried cream sauce, not spicy and definitely not too heavy for those who are feeling more adventurous without being overwhelmed. My boyfriend scraped the plate clean! We did not get dessert because we were so full, but it seems to be a daily/weekly feature rotation because they did not have a section for it on their menu. Hopefully on our next visit we can give it a try. Also shoutout to our server Jennie who really made an effort to provide great service and make sure we enjoyed our meal. She was awesome! TL;DR This is the highest recommended restaurant in Prescott for a reason. It offers a unique atmosphere with large variety of fun, delicious food, and great service- which is so nice compared to all the big chains or repetitive menus on the downtown strip. A must visit!

After driving up to Prescott from Phoenix we stopped here for a quick bite to eat. We ordered a few appetizers to share and my husband got a drink. Everything tasted great! We really enjoyed the artichoke dip! Service was fast- servers were nice. We were able to sit outside on a patio and it was very nice! As the weather changes they have heaters that they can turn on and it is also covered by tents minimizing bugs! Their menu has a ton of options and everyone that goes is sure to find something they will like on their menu!

First time here; naturally skeptical of any place that's been voted the best restaurant in town. With those lofty expectations it's hard to live up to it, but this place delivered! There was no one favorite because it's comparing apples and oranges with the different flavor profiles of each of the five dishes we tried, It's more like 1A/1B/1C. And to top it off, we had the very best server in JD! You rock!

Dam fine food. Would eat crab cakes all day every day from this place. Well smack the poultry because the fig goat cheese is scrumptious. As a group, we shared the tapas and the happy hour is very snappy fast service. Love being by the town creek. Warm ambiance with hard working ladies

Awesome stained-glass fixture on the back porch/patio.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What amazing food and ambiance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated on the back porch/patio in the shade of the lovely trees overlooking the stream/creek[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Every single bite was a delight--obviously made fresh, in house because of the bright flavors. We had a hard time making decisions, so ended up ordering way too much. Oh, darn, leftovers. (sarcasm) We ordered the fried artichokes, olive tapenade and pretzel sticks with queso followed by shrimp and polenta, lamb kabobs and brisket tacos. Every dish was bursting with flavor. Tiger shrimp were HUGE. Brisket and lamb were tender and juicy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]LOVE the decor which includes fun and quirky painting by a local artist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And, yes, the paintings are for sale. We will definitely be back when in the area. The menu is so varied you could come back again and again and order something completely different.

Came here the Friday before Valentine's Day and we got super lucky with a last minute table! This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and it did not disappoint. We were obsessed with the neuvos camarones with its chipotle kick and great balance between acidic and buttery flavors. The pork belly tacos are also a must try. Top it off with a margarita and you're in for a fun night! They have outdoor patio seating that's covered and with heat lamps so you can't go wrong on a crisp winter/spring night! Friendly service, usually busy, and a fun vibe!

We came in on Friday afternoon around 3pm, a party of 2, and were sat outside. It was relatively empty but it was hot. The stagnant air was hard to sit in, but we were willing to manage. To be fair we did not ask to be sat inside/outside and we didn't ask to go inside at any point, so it's on us. But they would definitely benefit from some fans/misters in the summer. we each had a drink and some water and ordered 3 tapas knowing this was just our first stop of the night. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, the papas con queso, and the chicken flautas. The spinach and artichoke dip was SO good. By far my favorite. The papas con queso could definitely benefit from being like liquid cheese/queso. It looked and kind of tasted like shredded cheese melted on potatoes. The chicken flautas were also good! I loved the sauce on them and it was perfect to fill us up for the evening. We were HIGHLY recommended this place and we were not let down! Looking forward to returning and trying out more of the menu.

One of the top spots in Prescott to eat. The service and food is always over the top. We tried a couple of new dishes tonight, it's great when the waiter can recommend a meal and it turns out great. We have been here several times over the years. It never has disappointed us. Kyle, you did a great job, thank you.

What a beautiful restaurant. Right by a stream with the leaves falling, outdoor seating. Absolutely stunning. We were here for happy hour 3-5 pm and they have a special TAPAS only menu. So many choices and like smaller plates so you can order multiple items and share with the table. Biggest happy hour menu I have ever seen. The presentation of the food is absolutely stunning as well. My husband said "this is my now favorite restaurant" The beef and bleu tacos were so freaking bomb!!!! Perfect blend of whatever flavors they use. I was not crazy about the shrimp corndogs- sorry. Ordered them because another review said it was their favorite- idk maybe we were full by time we got to these. Now the coconut shrimp was phenomenal. The biggest shrimp I have ever seen in my life! Literally as big as my hand. The Brie and fig dish, OMG YOU HAVE TO ORDER THIS. Sooooo good. Best Brie dish we have ever had. We almost ordered one to go, but realized maybe it's a special occasion dish. Yes that good The fried green tomatoes were perfect too The cake was obviously insane because my 17 year old ate it all before we even looked up!!! It was GONE!

    Are there gluten free options?

Yes! Actually many of the items on the happy hour menu are naturally gluten free. Just ask your server and they'll be able to help.

How late is your lunch menu available?

Lunch menu until 3pm but Tapas menu never ends from 11am - 7:45 pm daily

    Do they allow small dogs?

No I am very sorry, but this restaurant does not allow animals on their patio per City code health ordinance

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes Reservations are highly recommended

    What time is happy hour?

Every hour at Gato Azul. You will love it!

Can dishes be modified to fit a vegan diet?

They have a number of vegan dishes but most are tapas which do not allow room for modifications. They try to accommodate reasonable requests but often get very busy and in rushing to meet orders may not be able to stop to produce a custom version.…

Do you have any cheese that does not use rennet? I keep a vegetarian diet and do not eat any meat, fish or egg or anything that uses those byproducts in them such as rennet which is made from a calf's stomach to coagulate cheese. Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry, however, I can not guarantee that all our cheese does not have rennet.

It's very unassuming, set off the street in a semi-residential area with attached parking lot. We arrived and there were many cars in the lot, which is always a hopeful sign. The restaurant itself is rather basic. Tile floors and a handful of tables and booths. There was one server at the time we were there, which was a Wednesday afternoon. We were greeted promptly and drink order taken. Quickly after that the restaurant began to fill. The menu is rather expansive and I opted the the Don Omar dinner which included falafel, lamb, beef and chicken, rice and a Greek salad which I subbed tabouli for. My friend had the chicken shawarma sandwich. Our entrees arrived within 10-15 minutes and were nice sized portions. My meal was essentially a sampler plate which I was grateful for, allowed all the different flavors. The falafel, while nicely seasoned, was too dry for my liking. I'd say the same about the lamb kebab...just a tad dry. However the beef and chicken was amazing, humus was fresh and well flavored and the tabouli salad was spot on. Pita bread which I'm hoping was made there, was light and airy and good chewiness. The rice was the perfect amount and well seasoned. My compadre enjoyed the chicken wrap as well. If it were me, I'd add garlic sauce and additional tabouli to this for perfection! Our server, whom I'm assuming is also the owner, was efficient and accommodating. Upon payment we were chitchatting and he mentioned they also own Don Omar Tacqeria! That's saved in my collection so guess that's another meal for another day! Seriously, Mediterranean food is rare in northern AZ and I'm happy to have found this place somewhat close! Definitely worth checking out. Sorry no photos, I was starving!!!

We didn't have a reservation and just stopped by for dinner. The restaurant was pretty busy, but luckily they found us two seats at the bar. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. And the food... absolutely outstanding! Everything we ordered was delicious! From the pasta to the desserts. We'd also like to give a special mention to the coffee, which was excellent as well. The only thing I wish is that they were open for lunch! We'd happily come back during the day if they were. The service was great, and the food was even better. We started off with the artichoke bites, which came out piping hot and crispy with a side of lemon garlic, aïoli sauce. I ordered the spicy vodka pasta with shrimp which came with about five pieces of jumbo shrimp and homemade pasta. The sauce was amazing. It was probably one of the best pasta dish I've had. My husband ordered the chicken pasta with cream that was recommended by the bartender. That was also delicious. They also have free bread that came with olive oil with salsa Verde in it, which was interesting. We have to ask for the free bread though. For dessert we had gelato with salt and olive oil, which was surprisingly good. Overall, we had a great experience with amazing food. I would definitely come back here for the spicy vodka pasta next time I'm in town.
