I chose a 12 glass flight. 1oz each. $28, I think. Most were dry and sweet. Some tasted like whiskey or bourbon. I ordered pretzels to go with it. It was a heaping plate of bite sized pretzels that was plenty for 2. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was cool that this was in the basement floor of a retail store and the upper floor restaurant[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Service was perfect and I was checked on many times.

My mother, father, and I were traveling from Phoenix to Prescott for a long weekend. We couldn't check into our Airbnb until 4 PM, so that's how we found ourselves rolling up to this spot around 3 PM on a Friday. There was only one other small group when we walked downstairs (cause it's underground ) and so we were able to sit down and give our order promptly. We heard about the $28 12 different mead flight and definitely couldn't pass that up. With how expensive mead is, it's a better deal doing the flight rather than anything else. Especially since I had never tried mead before. Now, I won't go into specifics about each mead but I will say that I liked the sunshine meemosa a lot with jalapeño and I hate jalapeños! I also quite liked the Marion mead since it has all my favorite berries in it. I was a little upset that the peanut butter jelly one wasn't as peanut butter and jelly as I was expecting. But I digress. It was still a fun time sampling all these different alcohols that are usually on the expensive side. My parents both enjoyed our time and the service was quick and friendly! There was a nice variety of meads to sample, even though wine isn't really our thing.

I visited this place once again, since I was so happy from the last time I came. The food was again amazing filled with sweet and sharp flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once you go down the stairs your view transforms from a family winter wonderland, into a dark and mysterious bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only thing that shortens my review from five stars is the fact that both times I've came the service was slow and unwelcoming. But if you are looking for place not to be bothered with good food this is definitely a great pick.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is so cool and fun![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is very cozy and has a western feel with all the natural wood. It's lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bartender was very attentive and friendly. Made good recommendations. We enjoyed getting to taste so many meads and had different favorites. The flatbread went great with it and was delicious! Would definitely come back!

Great place to stop for a few drinks or tastings. Everything we've tried has been great.

Superstition Meadery is a unique place in town & must be visited when visiting PRESCOTT and its town Square. This is my third time here, and while before I've had flights to try all the different varieties of mead, today I'm just having a couple of glasses & enjoying the atmosphere. The place is a little hard to find, as you must pass through another business and walk down the staircase to get there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is super warm and cozy, with nice seating niches throughout to enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is very helpful in helping you select from their wide variety of Meads and just letting you know a little information about what Mead is. Great experience for anyone interested in trying mead!

We were referred here by our local mead place in Reno, Nevada. The Prescott tasting room is an underground bar set up which was pretty cool. We walked in around 315pm with a few other people. I was shocked to see a bunch of kids around and the establishment was super understaffed. One server for everyone in the tasting room who was understandably overwhelmed. We wanted to try tapas but the server stated she could not accommodate it. I'm assuming because she was busy. By the time we got the second half of our flight there were three people staffed and we were able to try the Elote dip. It was sweet and spicy! Really good! A cool place to stop by if you like mead!

The service! The drinks! The whole experience! A bucket list stop that lived up to its expectations. Went on a Thursday evening, The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. We sat at the bar and they gave us great suggestions about the meads and other places to check out in the area. A little of the beaten path but well worth it. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience. We stopped in to celebrate our birthdays and decided upon some mead and cider flights. The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming. I loved how you went down the stairs, and it's this cool, dimly lighted place where all the cool kids hang out. Haha. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and continued to check in on us. We'll be back.

This is one of my favorite meaderies ever, I have been to Superstition near Phoenix and love everything I have had from them. I also make my own mead and like to try out new meaderies while on vacation. The vibe here was very cozy, it's located in downtown Prescott, in the basement of an old building. They had so many varieties to try, so we ordered a flight of 12 meads to start. Everything was so good and flavorful, we also ordered a couple of tasters from really expensive bottles that were like $100+ a bottle, so it was like $5-$10 for a one ounce pour. As good as they tasted, it was really pricey for this trip to Superstition. We also ordered a sour dough bread and oil plate to enjoy with our mead. The service was good and we bought a couple of bottles to take back home with us and compare with our local meaderies.

Great spot for meeting up with friends and hanging out. Shared a flight with a friend and played one of their free games as we sipped. We also shared the butter board, which was delightful! Loved the space itself too - aesthetic furniture and good layout.

Was shopping inside Spice Traveler in the Burmister building on Gurly street. We heard some commotion going on towards the back of the store. I spot stairs going downward. We go check it out. It's called the Superstition Meadery! My husband and I decided to partake. Looks very cool, kind of like a wine cellar. I know nothing about Mead so our server tells us all about how it's made what it is etc. I attached a photo of what mead is and how it's made/what it's made of. I decide to do a flight of tastings! Husband's driving so all is well. (You can also just order a 1 ounce or a 5 ounce glass, which he did). There is a lot of fruit flavors involved in these drinks. Out of the 12, I probably really liked six of them. My number one was called Blueberry Spaceship. I was given a sheet and told I could rate them. I chose to give them numbers between. 1-10. A couple of them were very, very sweet and a couple of them tasted like cough syrup to me. Only one I couldn't really handle/finish was made with red hatch chilies in it. The burn on the back of my throat didn't appeal to me...at all. Some of them very good . This was really a cute quirky looking place and I would definitely go with friends and do it again!

Is it 21+ only? Thank you! (:

No. They serve food here. It falls under the same guidelines as a craft brewery. With that said, it has a classy atmosphere so probably not the best place to bring the young ones.

Does Superstition Meadery allow dogs to accompany their owners? OP would be a first timer and doesn't know the accommodations.

While the Phoenix location has a dog-friendly patio, the Prescott Tasting Room in located in the basement of a building, and only allows service animals. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed due to health code.

How is Superstition handling operations during COVID? Are the staff wearing masks? Are tables spaced far apart? Is ordering allowed at the bar top or only from your table? Are patrons encouraged to wear masks before receiving their drinks and food?

Everyone is wearing masks here. They also adhere to strict maximum capacity. Patrons are more than 6 feet apart and you wait to get your table. Masks are required when you're not sitting to eat or drink so everybody should be wearing a mask while…

I assume what happened was they batched it with other orders and mine was the end of the pan. It happens. No big deal. I asked the waiter for some additional potatoes as it was unbalanced and he started counting potatoes in my dish!!! He got up to 5 and then looked at me like I was the idiot... this is after we sat there for 20 minutes before he even took our order. We wanted to have a drink or two first, but felt compelled to order as service was slow already. We made the right call... food took a while to come. We also had Brisket Tacos, which were decent but not warm. The margarita had soda in it... a travesty. All in all the food was average but the attitude of the waiter ruined the experience. I had high expectations. We will give it a whirl again at some point and if that is pleasant, I will update this review. I just couldn't let this service slide... he was TERRIBLE.

The Vibe: This is going to be an expensive night out but your food will be amazing, if you happen to get Cesar as your host then you will be taken care of, The restaurant has this elevated rustic feel, with a wood tavern feel. There is a lots of foliage, fire, relaxing lighting , indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of charm. The Service: Cersei was our host and he was nothing short of amazing, He was attentive had questions for our questions to make sure we got the most out of our dinner. He was great with suggestions and really just made the experience that much more fulfilling. We thank you sincerely Cesar, you are a gene human being. If you are the base line of the kind of host they hire ... I could only assume all the staff reflects your hosting. The food: Well where do I start... The appetizers were the empanadas, we got the filet of beef Empanadas and they were delicious, I love making empanadas at home but I usually bake mine, most places fry them... Mariposa bakes theirs too and I was pretty stoked about it. We also got their yuca fries, and I have never had them the way Mariposa makes them they were perfectly shaped, crispy and delicious. On top of that all the sauces that came with these appetizers were delicious. Out main courses were also on point, I got the Ribeye, my wife the Filet Mignon and my Suegra got the the pork chop and the sides we chose was the squash, mushrooms and elote corn. My Ribeye was perfect mid rare with a wonderful wood fire char on it, each bite was butter and mixed with the mushrooms or corn delicious, my wife took her time on her Filet, you can tell she was enjoying every bite. My suegra finished her pork... she usually does not finish her food... this time she cleaned her plate and then some. I can also say their cocktails both virgin and alcoholic were just perfect with our meal. We ended with some desserts, I got the tres leches and my wife got the flan. They did not disappoint and I took my time with the tres leches. My wife usually only eats my tres leches and she liked this one. The meatballs were ordered with mozzarella (as we were told all their cheeses/ingredients are fresh & imported) - our server had to inform us the chef said "No" to cheese on our meatballs. To be clear- we asked again, and assured him we are fine with an extra charge- again, the chef refused. Flat out refused. Wow. The Food : Meatballs are very small and the bowl looked like a bowl of tomato soup with meatballs ... tasted like bottled sauce & frozen little meatballs. Subtle mushroom flavors. Salt did help a little but we opted to go somewhere else for our main meal after the disappointing start. We had to request fresh Parmesan as the little powdered kind was also flavorless/grocery store level either stale from sitting out on the tables or not "imported" as we were told. One question remains... Are patrons allowed to put Parmesan on the meatball soup.. or is that also forbidden? We won't be back and we will NOT be recommending.
