a sandwich with a side of coleslaw
Terry K.

I don't do a lot of sandwich shops but a friend and I wanted something quick so we thought we'd try this place. It shares both a building and parking lot with another business. So there's limited parking. But neither business seemed to be pulling in a crowd so I think it's adequate. The dining area is small and has just a few tables. I settled on their Grand Teton, which is a pastrami sandwich. For a side, I chose their coleslaw. Both were OK, but nothing to rave about. I did think the sandwich was a bit small for the price I paid. This is a Pepsi house...sorry, Coke folks. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but he said he like it. For me, this place is nothing special. If you want a hot or cold sandwich, this place works. Just don't expect a lot.

Very cool, U.S. National Park Service theme and decor. Tasty sandwiches named after national parks.

Had meatball sub and the sauce was burnt. Service was good. Needs more light in the menu area. Should offer a veterans discount.

Great sandwiches and soups. Eat in or pick up at a window which makes it super convenient.

The best sandwich shop in Prescott. I use to go there once a week when I worked in Prescott and still swing by whenever I'm in town.

I especially loved how well everything was packed. The food was very flavorful with a really nice level of spice. Nothing was overwhelmingly hot, but everything had enough kick to keep things interesting. The gumbo and étouffée were rich and perfectly seasoned, with a velvety sauce, and the jerk chicken (thighs for those that are curious) was packed with flavor. The greens were really interesting and unlike any other greens I've had (you must get this!), red beans and rice, and smashed smoked potatoes were all delicious, and the andouille added a great smoky, savory touch. The cornbread which is more savory as opposed to sweet was also the perfect accompaniment. The portions were generous, and we thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food we received. We ordered takeout and would absolutely come back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend!

This is a great take out place…read more They have dialed it in in there selections I've had the bbq ribs, delish, but you have to pair it with the coleslaw. It's not the typical coleslaw. No mayo. There's a lot of spices and vinegar which isn't over powering. It's what I crave. Never have I even heard of a vinegar based coleslaw Tonight I'm going to try the triple smoked cherry bomb sandwich with a side of coleslaw Hidden gem I tell ya!

After we were seated, I asked if we can enjoy a couple drinks and wait for the lunch menu to start which would begin in about 12 minutes. We were told we would have to get up as there were other clients waiting to be served breakfast. After we got up, I noticed another couple being seated and being told that they're currently serving breakfast. Did they want lunch or breakfast? After they chose lunch, they were still seated after we were told to get up and wait. I ordered an Irish coffee. It was too sweet and strong, and I asked for it to be diluted with coffee., the owner told me she charges extra for that. I didn't care about the price, why would he say that ? We had ordered des which was never brought to us nor the additional coffee I asked for, in fact they brought the check without even asking how everything was or if we wanted anything else . It felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of us. it felt like a turn and burn place instead of something special I thought it would've been. Sadly, a very disappointing experience.

Second, not a single item on the menu disappoints. From the time we ordered, our appetizers arrived in about five minutes, and our entrées were served in under 20 minutes. I'd probably suggest this isn't the place or the day of the week to attempt to eat here, especially single. I was seated at the 3 seater bar, and after placing my order, never spoken to again after my ribeye was served. The mashed potatoes were baked/congealed to the plate, asparagus were fine, mushroom sauce fine and a puddle of Armish blue cheese sauce poured all over the steak - again fine but presentation left a little to be desired. I ordered a rare to rare medium steak, it arrived medium. Since nobody checked in to see if I needed anything, tired and hungry, I ate and left. Paid and walked out. Nobody said goodbye or was everything okay? The meal felt pretty basic. $65.00 + tip for the above meal of a prime 12oz ribeye. Other reviewers listed the restaurant as welcoming with friendly servers and great ambience. None of the above were true in my case. It would've been better to turn me away for not having a reservation than to present in this lackluster way. Would I go back with a group with reservations on a Friday night when back in Prescott? Probably not. There are many other choices, some really great ones in Prescott as I found out on Saturday and Sunday during the remainder of my stay. Great foodie town! Enjoyed my stay in Prescott.
