I haven't eaten for many years back when it was called Bonn Fire. The restaurant has a large parking lot. Inside it has a full bar in a separate room wth the dining area nearby. I ordered the pork shank meal for $21. It came with a side salad that was quite good tasting especially with boiled eggs in it. A very good start! The pork shank sat in a bed of mashed potatoes and I chose buttery corn for my included side dish. The pork shank had a lot of thick dark brown gravy on it and looked good but taste wise it lacked. Some of the meat was overcooked and hard. The gravy hurt the meat in my opinion. Also the buttery corn didn't have much if any butter in its cup that I could see. The entree was disappointing and I wish I had ordered something else. I added a slice of blueberry pie for $4.75 for dessert. It was very good tasting served warm. This restaurant has been here for a very long time. I liked the salad and dessert but the entree lacked. I hope their other entrees are better. read more

We visited on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy but we were greeted with a smile and the hostess sat us quickly. Our server was very friendly and attentive filling our water several times and checking up to ensure we didn't need anything. We ordered the French Dip the meat was very dry but the au jus was very flavorful and it saved the sandwich. The booths are large, comfortable and private. Looking at several of the other patrons dishes the home town cooking looked very good and large portions. read more

We ordered our food to go because we prefer not to eat in crowded restaurants--not because of the service or atmosphere. Unfortunately, nearly everything we ordered was terrible. Anything served on a bun had to be completely deconstructed just to be remotely edible. The fries and onion rings were awful, and my daughter's shrimp Alfredo smelled so strongly like rotten fish that we had to throw away every piece of shrimp. This was not simply food getting a little soggy during the drive home--the quality and smell were unacceptable. We spent $110 and ended up throwing most of the meal away. At that price, we weren't expecting perfection, but we did expect fresh, edible food. What was supposed to be a meal we had been excited to try turned into a complete waste of money. First of all, the menu said chicken breasts indicating more than one for the chicken marsala. What came out of the kitchen was one chicken breast the size of a silver dollar. The sweet potato was 3 inches long and 2 inches across. The waitress stopped by to get our order and give us the check. We never saw anyone else. I wanted to like this place because Prescott has so few restaurants, but the salads we all ordered were limp and soggy in some places. My MIL was literally taking chunks of old sour lettuce out of her mouth mid bite because it was so bad. We also ordered the fish fry, and the fish was overdone. But the hush puppies were great! The service was a little slow, we had to ask for silverware (because we had no napkins till halfway through the meal), but the server was kind. We were there for dinner. Husband had the beef dip I had that hamburger. Both were good. Service was OK, i had to wait for the 1000 island dressing i requested & was not offered anymore water. Stopped in as we have never been, now I know why. My cheeseburger was so overcooked it was like a charred hockey puck. The fries were like they were dehydrated they were so overcooked. One poor gal doing everything so didn't want to send it back. The pepper steak sandwich, or whatever they call it, was awful, smelled like rancid meat. I ordered the pot roast lunch special. I have had it before and it was very good. What I was served today was not pot roast. I was steak cut into small pieces and served with gravy. It was chewy and not very flavorful. I would rather be informed that the pot roast wasn't ready than be served a poor substitute. Second week in a row I have taken new people to this restaurant! The manager short female bar tender is absolutely horrible. She totally ignored my new friend at the bar, when we were meeting for the first time. We waited over 15 minutes to even order a drink, we ended up moving to a booth in the bar and had to wait even longer. We asked a passerby server if we could get a server and was finally waited on by a nice gentleman. Then today I took another person who had never been there and again we sat in a booth in the bar. Again we had to request someone to find a server for us. Then we were approached by the female bartender who refused us service and said to me that I flipped off someone in the bar. I have no idea what she was talking about and neither did my guest. We both were offended and humiliated by this person and I asked to speak to a manager only to find out she was the manager. I have NEVER been treated so horribly by a bartender in my life and I still have no idea what in the world she was talking about! Some other patrons sitting at the bar turned around and told us to leave and we are still bewildered by all these events. Who in the world are these people? I have been out of town for 6 mos and just got home and have gone two weeks in a row only to have been treated horribly by this woman on both occasions. I was so embarrassed for my guests to have been treated so badly and so humiliated. This woman should be FIRED! No unsuspecting patron should ever be treated in such a horrible manner. So my hubby has been wanting to try Gabby's Rustic for a while and I have not based on reviews and what has been said on Next Door. My mistake. Both our food and our service were great! I had the French onion soup and the apple, feta, walnut salad. Both were great and way too much food so I brought 3/4 of my salad home. The green were fresh, there was plenty of feta and candied walnuts. I am vegetarian so I get bored with most salads. This one was good. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and said it was really good. He was going to order his usual cheeseburger but said he was glad he tried this. Not saying five stars because it was a little too quiet in the bar area and it was not a great atmosphere. Don't order rib eyes or New York sirloin. I ordered medium rare rib eye and it was raw in the middle, when I could actually cut it to see! All 3 steaks were so tough it was hard to cut and they all looked like they'd been cut from one steak into 2. The dogs enjoyed the leftovers. That said, the service was excellent! Server asked how everything was and I told her steak was rare and she offered to take it back but I said no it wasn't worth it. We will go back because other meals we've had there have been great, just thought others should know not to order the steaks! read more

This is our first time with the new owners who turned it into gabby. We like the look inside and out. No tables outside ??the food was decent. The wife had the ribeye and it was ok. Had a good char taste to it. We tried two appetizers. The fried zucchini and cheese curds , both were pretty good but ranch was way to watery. I had the garlic parmesan Alfredo sauce with the chicken. I liked it. My kid had the French onion soup and a sandwich and both were good. Advertised closing at 8 . Got there at 7:30. Kitchen was closing so would not seat us. Typically if a restaurant closes at 8:00 they quit seating people at 8:00 not at 7:30. The reason they're slow I imagine is because of these type of practices no one goes to Gabby's after 7:30. read more
