This is my favorite place in Sedona, every time I'm in town this is my num one place to go! Love the food and vibes!

Oh what an INCREDIBLE offering (all gluten-free, all vegetarian menu) in Sedona. Esp for those with gluten sensitivities, it's a safe haven. Service was amazing too - attentive, friendly & joyous. Menu is innovative and while we didn't vibe with the taste of every item we tried, we enjoyed how healthy and gut friendly the food was. They say all their food is prepared in-house and is never from a can. Their dessert selection is amazing (tried the freshly baked vegan, GF scone which was soooo yum). The chocolates were good too but a tad overpriced imho. And omg, the seating in this restaurant is something else... there's PLENTY of inside and outdoor seating, incl their magical garden area. read more

I ordered the breakfast burrito, and unfortunately it falls into the vegan food trap of an over reliance on sweet potato. Given that the burrito has two ingredients as of yesterday (menu says it has salsa, but upon ordering you're offered an up sell to pay extra for salsa or avocado), I was disappointed it didn't err on the side of extra chickpea chorizo. It was however seasoned incredibly well, sweet potatoes included. If you want a more quiet patio experience, then I would opt for the dog-friendly patio in the front as opposed to the one through the restaurant toward the back. went after a chilly & rainy hike at devil's arch & it was a lovely place to warm up! absolutely loved the atmosphere & decor. great allergen-friendly & healthy food selection (i am gluten free & i believe everything on their menu is gluten free & vegetarian!) i got the activate "who needs coffee" latte & MAN was it GOOD! i did get it without the coconut oil, but i was worried it would taste too earthy but it genuinely was better than their actual hot chocolate (& tasted more like hot chocolate)! description: an infusion of supercharged vitality with supertonic chinese herbs & nutrient dense mesquite pod flower, chlorella, cacao powder, chaga, reishi, astragalus, rhodiola, cordyceps, magnolia bud, gynostemma, ophiopogon, eleuthero, shilajit, bamboo leaf, luo han gua, sea salt, in house made almond milk with coconut oil & maple for food, i got a side of 3 bean chili (navy, kidney & turtle beans, celery, bell pepper, onion, garlic, minced jalapeño, & cilantro) & a side of roasted sweet potato. i will say, the food was a bit cold BUT the workers were more than happy to warm it up/remake it for us. both dishes were great -- the sweet potatoes were soft & the beans were delicious. my sister also got the three bean chili & enjoyed it, my dad got the fiesta bowl & ate it all, & my mom really liked her corn chowder stew. we got two dosas, but didn't really like them at all/find them to be an authentic dosa. we also had to get some chocolates, of course! i chose the honey banana chocolate truffle (did not like) & maple hazelnut ganache blonde truffle (LOVED!). we also got the maple café mocha (my dad liked it), honey raspberry tart truffle, maple roasted pistachio blonde ganache truffle, maple lil peanut butter cup (my sister liked this one), & the maple chocolate chai truffle. they also offer a selection of medicinal/herbal/hippie/crystal products which were fun to browse. fun place! would recommend & come again if we ever visit sedona again. their outdoor patio seems lovely but it was cold & rainy. read more

Ambiance: Close to nature, simple with dog friendly patio and garden. They also have a spot for babies with a swing , books and toys. Service was quick Food: The food here was good overall. However, this is not a usual restaurant. Food is organic, vegan. Corn chowder was hearty and yummy, but not as creamy as one would expect. Dosa was also not made from the usual batter, it was thick. Nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options for lunch, great selection of drinks. I had a mushroom dish with rice and mashed potatoes. It was ok but it looked very unappetizing. My friend had the Thai salad which looked great initially but when the tahini dressing was mixed in, it looked like a real mess. My ginger with honey lemonade was great. I did not like my friends chocolate drink that I tried... tasted like fake chocolate milk to me. I had a lemoncello bon-bon ($3 a piece!) and found it so-so. I have been here many times over the past several years and it's been a favorite place of mine to stop. Let's start here. I always get chocolates, they are some of the best I've had and I appreciate the focus on healthy medicinal yet delicious creations. So.. I got some chocolates and another just have favorite of mine... CHEEZEY KALE CHIPS. There is truly a wonderful selection of things here from chocolate tree pantry and fridge staples to locally made products and jewelry and more. The vibe is earthy, hippie and stunning. I love spending time here. They often have bands playing in the garden, bathrooms are available for guest. There is so much seating and! Free spring waste on the outside spout.. (be respectful of parking, space, time and others when filling) The one thing that was unfortunately disappointing this time around was paying for a high priced high quality cacao drink but getting it and feeling like it was water with a dash of cocoa powder. I recall at one point it was thick and flavorful, this was very lack luster so I put a piece of one of my cacao chocolates in and it helped. But it made me reluctant to try again and I've heard a few times from long time regulars that some menu items have become inconsistent and at times not so good. ChocolaTree was this vegetarian-in-training's oasis in the desert. Delicious, filling, healthy food. A helpful and friendly staff, and an ancient gnarled tree sitting on top of an energetic hot spot. Perhaps foolishly - time will tell - I had impulsively decided to stop eating meat the day that I had the veggie omelette at The Secret Garden (also Sedona & in my reviews). This meant that I was positively starving and it was already later than acceptable to get food in the area, maybe 9pm. Tanya at the Secret Garden had recommended I go to this place because they had a wonderful energetic zone here but I had forgotten about it until I found myself heading to stargaze while a little hungry and realized they were open. I popped a U-turn into their shaded lot it was dark when I arrived so lots of stars, and went into the wooden and rustic yet modern restaurant. It kind of feels like the restaurant springs from a tree that is still living, it's very nice. I mentioned I was going stargazing and that I'd been recommended this place and Daniel who was working referred me to the Pacha Mama latte... this was absolutely delicious and when I went back to look at the contents of the drink I realized it had a world tree seed in it.. !? I wondered if it was a ceiba seed. It was smoky and chocolate with a hint of cinnamon and a lot of something to blow your heart chakra open. I sat on one side of the circular wooden base of the tree, and observed a stage and other beautiful parts of the garden - I took a walk around before I left. I packed up some mushroom risotto for my stargazing - hoo boy I ate it all. Salt & pepper to your hearts content but a vegan meal that sticks to your ribs and feels grounding is priceless. Thank you, Daniel for answering the door after I'd already gone to the car, and for taking time to give me directions when I realized I had no idea where I was going. This place is so charming. Everyone is friendly and helpful. FYI, I'm not a vegan but enjoy vegan food. The three-bean chili was flavorful and not too hot for my timid palate. Perfect texture and temp. I had the "Butterfinger" and it was off the chain! Deep dark chocolate on top, crunchy peanut buttery bottom. I've never had anything like it. The French press was very good. I had a hot chocolate, and it was hot and tasty but not as creamy as I'm used to. This is a magical oasis in Sedona. read more

I've eaten here twice and just absolutely love the atmosphere. The last time I was here, there was table service, so the place has changed. You order and pay at the counter and choose where you'll be dining. Your order is delivered to your table. So many places to choose to sit. There are three separate dining areas indoors and large spaces for dining outdoors in the front and back, so it's perfect for large groups. Only because it was a little chilly outdoors did I choose to dine indoors. I ordered a bowl of the four bean chili, avocado toast, and their version of coffee. The chili was really good. I didn't particularly like the bread of the avocado toast, and I wasn't used to the flavors in my drink. On my way out, I grabbed the little donut shaped dessert and large cookie. The cookie was really good. Just be aware that this restaurant is truly vegan, hippie food. And, yes, it's expensive to dine here. read more

We enjoy a meal here at least twice a year. If you're near or in Sedona, don't leave without stopping by. They also make homemade chocolate. The garden in the back is so peaceful and beautiful. There's tons of seating to eat outside, with options in the front and back. We love to order several different dishes and share because their menu is amazing. We always order the mushroom fantasy and the green goddess salad! They prioritize organic, non GMO, nutrient dense meals. This will always be my favorite restaurant! Friendly and helpful counter service helped me decide between two dishes. I went with the vegan bean burrito and my husband had the non vegan bean burrito. They looked very similar on the plate - huge and completely filling. Perfect fuel for heading out hiking after lunch. I love they had so many vegan options to choose from! The scoop of vegan cheeze on the side of the burrito is creamy and flavorful- it was the perfect amount for each bite of my tasty burrito. Before our main dishes arrived, we got the live dip appetizer plate. I'd never seen or heard of nori nachos before, but they were really yummy! All the dips and breads were delicious and it was just the right size for two of us. After our meal, I chose one piece of chocolate for dessert. It was so good! I took a few pieces home as a thank you gift for my sister-in-law. She loved them too! There are several indoor spots to sit during the cold months, so don't be scared away by the reviews mentioning outdoor seating if you're going in January or February. They told us they also have blankets at their outdoor seating, but we chose to sit inside. It was pleasant and I could browse the marketplace while waiting for my food. I first discovered ChocolaTree many years ago when visiting Sedona and it's become a staple when visiting now. We recently went on a trip and decided to pop in and the menu is even better than I remember it. Reasonably priced to for the value and quality organic food you get. Plus, you'll get full really quickly as each meal is so nutrient dense. The service is always great and the space is so warm, welcoming and beautiful. I always like to sit outside on the patio. It's like a calming oasis out there! Only downside was we had a hungry bee swarm us so we ended up inside. We ordered the "Sedona 2012 Enchilada" and the "Mushroom Fantasy" with a cup of the "Cafe Mocha". My boyfriend LOVED the coffee and his dish and I really liked mine. Didn't look the most appetizing but it was delicious and filling! I hope this place stays in Sedona forever. read more

Good service however, when I ordered my food and gave a large tip, the young lady never even thanked me. Just walked away. She didn't even guide me to the back patio. But she served with a smile initially. Poor service on the patio by young white male with a tiny ponytail and a purple tie-dye shirt. He was sarcastic to my whole group of friends and me. We asked if the copper container of water was refilled and his answer was well. Did you check it recently? Our jaws dropped. He was very rude and we didn't say anything to prompt it. There were some other questions we had and he was not very helpful. And especially not polite. Otherwise, we love the ambience and the food. The dishes are unique. They're absolutely delicious. We stopped by the ChocolaTree for an afternoon pick me up. The parking lot has cute inspirational signs. It was an auspicious start! We were greeted enthusiastically and told that everything is glutin free, dairy free and vegan. Everything made fresh here down to the coconut cream. Being dairy free for years and newly gluten free I was excited! We explored and went to sit in the garden in back. It was so beautiful and green and peaceful. We got drip coffees and I ordered the sweet potato brownie and my husband had the lemon oil cake. The cake was moist and he loved it. The brownie was very fudgy and sooo good. Not overly sweet and perfect with the coffee. I ended up purchasing a ganache to go and picked up a bag of Pizza bread that looked fun. Love this place. I got to visit this restaurant for the very first time yesterday. I am largely meat and dairy free and I enjoy organic food, and so I was really excited to try this place. First impressions was that the garden and the food was really great. I really enjoyed my avocado toast and my boyfriend really enjoyed his corn chowder. The food is wholesome and extremely filling. I absolutely loved having the spring water available in the copper glasses. The ambience is quiet and calm. However, the service was a bit lacking. The lady taking orders seemed more interested in hanging out with her friends who had come in and was ignoring me when I was trying to ask a question, so that was a little awkward. read more

We were greeted warmly upon entry and picked up menus to peruse. When I asked if anything was gluten-free, the young gent at the register informed me that everything is GF. Yay! I selected a bowl of corn chowder, and my partner got a cup of the soup and the mushroom fantasy. We ordered a Krishna cookie to share. We opted to sit in the garden area near the back of the restaurant, which was nice on a cool day. The bowl of corn chowder was a large helping with just the right amount of warm spices. My partner enjoyed theirs, as well. They liked the seasoning on the mushroom fantasy and said the rice was unique and tasty. The cookie was substantial, with a chewy texture. Sweet but not too sweet. After eating, we looked around at some of the items for sale. There have coffee, flatbread, herbs, tinctures, shirts, incense, etc. we noticed several indoor eating areas should the weather not be favorable to eating outside.
