We were greeted warmly upon entry and picked up menus to peruse. When I asked if anything was gluten-free, the young gent at the register informed me that everything is GF. Yay! I selected a bowl of corn chowder, and my partner got a cup of the soup and the mushroom fantasy. We ordered a Krishna cookie to share. We opted to sit in the garden area near the back of the restaurant, which was nice on a cool day. The bowl of corn chowder was a large helping with just the right amount of warm spices. My partner enjoyed theirs, as well. They liked the seasoning on the mushroom fantasy and said the rice was unique and tasty. The cookie was substantial, with a chewy texture. Sweet but not too sweet. After eating, we looked around at some of the items for sale. There have coffee, flatbread, herbs, tinctures, shirts, incense, etc. we noticed several indoor eating areas should the weather not be favorable to eating outside. We enjoyed ChocolaTree and definitely will visit again when back in Sedona. read more

Place is going downhill. Higher prices and Shrinkflation on the drink mugs. Where did the old copper egg shaped mugs go???..and plastic cups now for water...:/ Fake smiles everywhere. People pretend to be zen but everyone's on edge. Prepare to spend $50 on soup and smaller drinks. read more

ChocolaTree Organic Oasis is more than just a restaurant--it's an experience. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance wraps around you in the most grounding, peaceful way. Every detail feels intentional, from the earthy design to the serene garden setting. And the cacao... truly something special. Rich, nourishing, and deeply comforting--it felt less like a drink and more like a ritual. You can taste the quality and care in every sip. This is the kind of place you come to slow down, connect, and really feel your environment. A hidden gem that stays with you long after you leave. read more

Great ambience sitting outside listening to a Native American young man play the float and talk about his heritage. Beautiful seating area outside under a big tree. Good service however, when I ordered my food and gave a large tip, the young lady never even thanked me. Just walked away. She didn't even guide me to the back patio. But she served with a smile initially. Poor service on the patio by young white male with a tiny ponytail and a purple tie-dye shirt. He was sarcastic to my whole group of friends and me. We asked if the copper container of water was refilled and his answer was well. Did you check it recently? Our jaws dropped. He was very rude and we didn't say anything to prompt it. There were some other questions we had and he was not very helpful. And especially not polite. Otherwise, we love the ambience and the food. The dishes are unique. They're absolutely delicious. I'm not even vegan or vegetarian and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. read more

A much needed stop when you're in Sedona! The ambiance is lively and welcoming. The staff is incredibly nice. We stop here whenever we are in town to bring home chocolates for a family member. While we've never eaten here, the food always smells delicious and we've talked about getting lunch the next time we are in town read more

My husband and I have eaten at ChocolaTree at least 3-4 times, and we have loved the food, service, and ambiance every time. We will be back again soon! It's such a vibrant place, with a large backyard garden with plenty of tables, as well as plenty of seating indoors for the rare rainy day in Sedona. I enjoyed the Broccoli Cheddar Quiche, which is made with pasture raised eggs and flaky delicious almond crust. It is fluffy and light, but was a round solo-quiche that was large enough to create a filling lunch for me. It came with organic greens dressed nicely. I've also recently enjoyed the daily specials off the chalkboard at the front, including the Black Lentil and vegetable curry, coconut ginger rice pudding, and sliced homemade pumpkin bread with Macadamia nut butter. All so fresh and tasty! (I feel nourished and healthy after eating lunch here, even when I sometimes order the snack/pastry items like the mind-blowing raw gluten-free cinnamon rolls in the front display case--they really are incredible!) My husband loves their Chocolate and Maca Smoothie (with almond milk, raw cacao, local honey, maca, and chia seeds). He also enjoyed the Saffron Coconut Dahl with mung beans, coconut cream and a piece of their spongy dosa bread. A couple of other menu items we enjoyed that are worth mentioning: 1. The Avocado Toast. So simple (especially when compared to offerings of loaded avocado toast at other restaurants), but so satisfying and flavorful and smooth! It is basically just 2 pieces of very dense gluten-free seed bread/toast smeared with smooth avocado and olive oil, but it's very very tasty and filling. (Reminded me of the simplicity and amazingness of Spanish Pan Con Tomate, when such quality ingredients are used.) 2. Mushroom Fantasy! This was the PERFECT rainy day comfort-food lunch for me. It has sautéed crimini mushrooms in a garlic sauce with wild rice and mashed potato with vegan macadamia nut spread. Simple, flavorful, filling, comforting, and delicious! The staff members are kind and knowledgeable and you can tell they care about creating high-quality organic vegetarian and vegan food! They have recommended several menu items to us that we have enjoyed. For all the reviewers who commented on the cost of the food, yes a lunch entree will run you about $12-$16, and if you get a smoothie or pastry, you're gonna spend about $22-$24 per person. That said, I'm not sure how we could expect a restaurant to offer 100% organic homemade food at this quality level for any less cost. Those high-quality ingredients typically cost them more to obtain, especially the ones they can't grow themselves (many ingredients are grown in the owners' garden, such as the pumpkin in the savory pumpkin bread). To me, I care too much about the Earth's health and my own personal health and wellness (and those of other people), so it's important to me to prioritize high quality food that nourishes me and leaves me feeling great. Thank you, ChocolaTree! read more

I love this place. The food is great. Their coconut dessert is great! I have had a couple of other desserts that were extremely, extremely, DRY. Great meal options tho. Very good. I will say that I've been here quite a few times with my youngest daughter. Every single time, the same older guy is the cashier. He is always flirty in a creepy kind of way. Really a big put off. After this happening several times in a row, my daughter is much younger than him, we decided not to return. read more

This is a beautiful venue with an outdoor garden for al fresco dining. The staff was also incredibly friendly. The food though just wasn't to my liking. The avocado toast was pretty bland. Well, this place is certainly the cliche of Sedona ambiance, with wind chimes, Buddha statues, and all that. Accordingly, the food is also, well, a cliche of hippie food. I had the "mushroom fantasy." The mushrooms and rice were flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the mushroom sauce hung around a lot of the dish in a good way. The macadamia spread on top was also quite rich. Even so, it felt it was lacking something savory--not quite sure what. I also got a dosa, which was more of a thick sourdough flatbread than a traditional South Indian dosa, but was tasty for what it was. The chocolate truffle I got was also pretty good. It was solid all the way through rather than a ganache, which was a surprise, but the flavor was excellent. read more

Cute little natural food gem in the middle of Sedona. I loved the vibe walking in so friendly and warm welcoming. The employee who took our order helped me out with options to my vegan breakfast burrito since I don't tolerate any spicy and the chickpea chorizo had a hint of spice to it. He went to the kitchen to see what they could sub it for and decided stewed mushrooms would work best. It was delicious! My husband had the regular breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it as well. We had the dark chocolate drink which was very light and pleasant to drink. They have fresh spring water in pitchers for customers to enjoy. We also purchased a Mexican blanket (which I used in Page to stargaze) and palo santo to take back home. They have many different sitting areas including outside. read more

I personally loved the ambiance here. Took me back to all the crunchy, hippie places I hung out in in the early 90s! Staff not super-friendly or attentive, though. One gentleman was literally shoving into me trying to get into the coolers up front, quite rude. Some of the chocolate a bit on the expensive side, but yummy, nonetheless! The ginseng lemon lime sodas are highly recommended and very refreshing. read more

I adored this place. If you're using Maps beware it will take you the street AFTER the actual driveway area for parking. Upon entering you'll find chocolate deserts, tintures, remedies, dried herbs, clothing, jewelry, books, cards, things to stock your home like honey, coconut cream powder, raw cacao etc. Wanted everything in there! You place your order at front - pay - and are given a little stand to put on your table so they can bring your order. There is inside seating with AC but the outdoor garden area is what makes the place. To drink I got : HEART LOVE UPLIFTING WARM FROTHY ELIXIR Dual Extract Panacea Uplift Shot. Astragalus. Maca Gnostemma. He Shou Wu, Go ji. Schizandra. Maple. Cacao. Almond Milk, Cavenne. Lemon, Coconut Oil. SERVED WARM ONLY -11 To eat: MUSHROOM FANTASY NON GMO sautéed crimini Mushrooms Garlic Almond Sauce. Wild Rice. Mashed Potato, Topped with Vegan Macadamia Spread -14 (18 oz) So delicious and the cacao is raw and farmed locally. Was a cute place. Little one ordered pancakes for first time out because they were dairy free! Middle one got the Quiche. Hubby got the margarita pizza with real cheese. My son got the Saffron Coconut Dahl and loved it. We went alone as a couple first and it was pretty romantic and then as a family and it's a cool place to hang out and enjoy a quiet meal without being rushed. They have bug spray and blankets for use when sitting outdoors :) CANT WAIT to go back read more

Amazing selection of seating, clean food, and positive peaceful vibes from the atmosphere and servers/cashier/crowd. I ordered the full live, raw vegan green goddess salad which did not disappoint. The dressing that has dulse in it was one of a kind, very delicious on the side. Really liked how the sprouted seeds were crumbled as well as each single scoop of guacamole and herb pate - extremely balanced. Lettuce had no bitter taste. As for the seating, they have 2 beautiful outdoor sections which in the back has Sedona spring water in copper containers/cups as well as sometimes henna and a library full of health books. Their shop inside has tshirts, snacks like kale chips, herbs, art, and more. Very good experience and would recommend to anyone wanting a wholesome spiritually fulfilling meal. 061023 read more

I absolutely adore this place. The food, drinks, service and ambiance were all so lovely and wonderful. We were visiting Sedona for only a couple of days and my only wish was that we had spent more time & shared more meals here. My man and I shared mushroom medley, green goddess salad and the dip sampler. Not one thing was lacking in flavor and left with happy stomach. LOTS of options on the menu especially for drinks (smoothies, tea, coffee, etc.). Pachamama latte (coffee-based and creamy) was a safe choice. We ended our meal with some chocolates they make in-house. Many thanks for allowing my pup enjoy our lunch with us in the back garden. They have two outdoor seating areas but make sure to check out back garden, so many beautiful things to look at it. Appreciated that it is more peaceful here, not loud at all. They also have a marketplace for your holistic needs and sell some of the food they serve but packed to-go. Their nori crisps were my favorite. read more

Visiting from Los Angeles with a vegetarian friend from Baltimore. This is such a gem of a place - a quiet, contemplative nook in the middle of the tourist hustle and bustle around red rocks. We had a dog, so we sat in the back outdoor zen garden. The place is meditative - better for quiet conversation, so try not to be loud or on your phones. We tried the cracker platter, the corn soup, the quiche, and the baked samosa. I was worried based on other help reviews that the food would be bland and lack seasoning, but I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor - it's definitely light and healthy but no compromise on the taste. It's a great, shaded place to enjoy coffee or brunch (just eat somewhere else for a filling, savory dinner). The inside has a shop with the usual supplements and spiritual knick knacks that appeal to the Sedona visitors or health enthusiasts. The place seems to take special care not to be wasteful with its clean hand cloths in the bathroom and a "help yourself" plate and cutlery station. My mocha was not particularly sweet, so I definitely had to buy one of the lovely chocolate truffles they make on-site. read more

This is my favorite place in Sedona, every time I'm in town this is my num one place to go! Love the food and vibes!

11/6/22 I came here for the second time this week because I absolutely loved the fact that I found the one restaurant that I can continue my diet. I can get a good hearty meal out here without asking for substitutions like other places. I ordered the mushroom fantasy again and picked up some sweets. I ordered ahead and just did take out. After hiking up Boynton canyon, I was craving something hearty and healthy. Food was great and the sweets were phenomenal. Would most definitely return here again in the futute. read more

Two men behind the counter, place was virtually empty with two women in front of us. Painfully slow, no one made eye contact with us or said hello. Guy was chatting it up about cash vs. credit. Very odd convo. After what seemed to be waaay too long I returned my drink to the cooler and left. This was at 2pm. It was such a weird vibe. So wanted to dine there again after returning to Sedona. Nope, not in the cards. read more

Fantastic food! Very calming and nourishing. Highly recommend it before or after a hike.

Love how clean this food is. It's whole ingredients, they add no sugar and everything is homemade. Great spot in Sedona.

If you are looking for a vegan/healthier option in Sedona, I would recommend ChocolaTree! There is a large backyard garden and the ambiance is lovely. I really enjoyed the chips and dip platter, quesadilla (made with dosa!) , and the ginger lemonade. I am docking one star because we ordered a dessert and there was an ant on it. It was immediately replaced with another but as we dug and ate into it, there was a piece of blue plastic in the dessert :( We got another replacement for that one but it wasn't pleasant to find something in-edible. Overall, a nice place to hang out and grab a bite! read more

Interesting spot if you are in the mood for lighter, vegetarian food. You order up at the counter and then choose your table; water and utensils are self serve on the outdoor patio (which is dog friendly). We've grabbed takeout from here and have dined in; both times we've left satisfied with our meals overall. It's on the pricier side because they use local and organic ingredients, but the food and drinks taste so fresh. The avocado herb sandwich is light yet filling; the flatbread is unique in flavor and texture but goes very well the creamy herbed pate and avocado. My husband enjoyed the mushroom fantasy because he was craving something warmer - it was flavorful and filling as well. For drinks, we had their homemade ginger lemonade which was refreshing and rejuvenating after a morning of hiking. read more
