The space itself is very charming and themed decor. I enjoyed the overall feel of the restaurant and our server was friendly. We ordered vegan Elote and the vegan california dilla. Talk about strong flavors! The elote was delicious, but know that it is jam packed with flavors and spice. The dilla was also good, and really enjoyed the fries combo. It was, however, too sodium filled for my palate. The cheese was melted to perfection and almost made me question whether or not it was vegan. I love that it has so many options for vegetarians/vegans where they have a whole menu of options, some which include the beyond meat substitutes which are delicious. They bring chips and a mild salsa out for the table upon arrival. I was a fan of the food. The quesadillas are huge and jam packed with the fillings you order. I was stuffed and could a barely finish mine. I thought the flavor was great. I would definitely come back to try their other options. What an unexpected treasure! We wanted to take dear friend (chosen family actually) out for a celebration. One of his favorite haunts decided to close on Mondays due to slow business. Luckily I'd done some advance research and found a highly rated Mexican restaurant not far away with a slew of awards. We will admit to being slightly daunted by the strip mall location, but I reminded them 13 North used to be at the end of the same strip mall and our friend was feeling adventurous. Boy did it pay off!!! Our friends our particular and I knew we had a hit when they BOTH raved about the house margaritas and quickly ordered another round. The recommendation for the Paloma for me was spot on too. The chips and salsa got high ratings right off the bat too, so the bar was set high for the food to come. I'd be remiss at this point if I didn't mention Zac (apologies if spelled wrong), he was working the bar and the floor. He was so personable, knowledgeable and so upbeat. All his recommendations were perfection. His service was the ideal combination of attentive and unobtrusive! We got spicy than usual, but lovely off the cob elote as well as especially well liked queso. The crowning glory, however, as the sign above the door acclaims (and rightfully so) was the quesadillas! We were so full already that our only regret was that both couples could only share one! High praise for both the el pastor and the carne with bleu cheese (trust us and Zac ... amazing)!!!
