The tortillas are made fresh every day, and you can taste the difference immediately. The carne asada fries were quite tasty and the best part of the meal. They had lots of flavors with the meat and creme and onions. They would definitely be ordered again. The quesadilla was good, but not as big as I thought it would be. The burrito for only a $1 more was a good size, but far from the best carne asada burrito I have had. We ordered Taco Cinco for a team lunch, and it was a huge hit! I actually stopped by Taco Cinco beforehand to sample the tacos because I wanted to make sure our team would love the food. The restaurant was clean, the staff was welcoming, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. When my order came out, my tastebuds were overjoyed by the flavors, and I thought, "Our team will love this!"--and I was right! Everyone had so many compliments about the flavor, authenticity, and quality of the food. The owner, Pedro, was also wonderful to work with. He was incredibly accommodating, attentive to the details of our order, and even catered the delivery himself. That extra level of care really stood out and made the whole experience feel personal. Everything was delicious--from the tacos (carne asada was a fan favorite!) to the guacamole to the homemade horchata and jamaica. Taco Cinco should quickly become the #1 taco spot in Phoenix. I know many of my neighbors love it as I have seen it mentioned on the Nextdoor app quite often. We finally decided to check it out today! As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted. We were asked if it was our first time and told we could sample anything we'd like. To me, that's a sign of a place that is proud of the food they make. And Taco Cinco 100% should be proud. We did sample the carnitas and the al pastor. Both were excellent. The fries were calling to me but I also really wanted to try a vampiro. So I got both. I chose the pollo (chicken) for the vampiro and the asada (beef) for the fries. Hubby had a bowl with al pastor (seasoned pork) and fries with the carnitas (pork). We each ordered a small fries as we weren't sure of the size. We probably could have shared. Everything was so fresh! I'm serious when I say this was probably the best Mexican food that I've ever had. It's definitely my favorite taco place and we didn't even have the tacos yet! I took my first visit to Tacos Cinco it is not far form my new residence and I was starving. . I read the reviews and had to try it . It's a cozy location with tv's and tables plenary of space to sit . The bring you your food by the number IIO are assigned . I got carnitas and checked tacos with one in the homemade corn tortilla and the other two in the flour . The taste was great and I couldn't ask for more . The side of beans and rice helped add flavor to the meal. Lastly, the queso has a nice flavor with a bit of kick, not burning, but very flavorful to make the meal go down just rights. I will be back here soon and get some other tacos or a mulita. I would recommend the food here to anyone who is hungry and it is worth the drive if it sir close by. read more

This place is amazing. I regret not trying it sooner. I just can't go back Chithotle after this. Think of this gem as an alternative to corporate quick service Mexican-inspired food but that is authentic, family-owned and run, uses better quality chicken, has a proper salsa bar, and your stuff is truly *made to order with love* not just assembled. Mexican can get heavy and weighed down with heavy sauces, cheeses, and creams. This was fresh, simple, yet flavorful. I had the carnitas bowl with rice, beans, meat, cheese, lettuce, crema and my personal choice of salsas from their bar. Each sauce was fresh and carried nice to moderate heat. I chose to combine their red and green, a perfect combination. My husband had a carnitas and an al pastor taco with rice and beans. I was impressed that the al pastor is shaved from a trompo, not sitting in a pan somewhere. He yummed over both tacos. Just getting off a flight and searching for tacos close to home has always been a problem... BUT not anymore.. Taco Cinco please never leave because the taco and the nachos I had was FIRE AND SOO GOOD, and let me also tell you about the owner Pedro was so nice and I was a little delirious after a long week of work travel but he was kind and the Jamaica was hitting. Very nice and clean spot. The employees were super nice and I was created as soon as I walked in. I placed a pick up order and took it home. The tacos were all very good. I got a pastor, carnitas and chicken taco. They all had a different salsa with onion and cilantro on top. They were all solid tacos. I also got a carne asada mulita and thought it was delicious, it's probably better eating it fresh rather than 30 minutes later after my car ride home. This is a very welcome addition to our neighborhood, which needs more good places to eat. The restaurant has a very casual layout, you order at the counter, and service is very friendly. I ordered three tacos: the asada was marinated and grilled just right, the pastor had a really good fresh-from-the-trompo flavor, and the nopal (cactus) had the delightfully tender and slightly pleasantly tart crunch characteristic of good nopales. Who doesn't love tacos? When you try the ones at Taco Cinco you will love them even more. We recently decided to check out the new guys on the corner, and we weren't disappointed. It's a very clean, industrial look, but the friendly staff has high-energy enthusiasm. The kitchen is open to view, so you can see what's being made and how clean the prep area is. We were greeted warmly, offered samples, and then treated patiently when we suddenly couldn't make up our minds. I settled on the steak quesadilla. It was stuffed with tender, juicy beef that was just so good. (I couldn't finish it all). There was no greasy heaviness to the food. My picky husband tried several different tacos--again, fresh tasting and quite full--and he's planning his next choices. You place your order at the counter by the entrance, and it is delivered to your table. We didn't wait long. Presentation isn't fancy, and the salsa and sauces come in plastic cups. (There is also a bar where you can get more.) We drank soda, but it appears they have a liquor license, so a Margarita would certainly be a nice accompaniment next visit. Prices may be a little higher than those of other taco shops, but for the quantity and the quality, I'm certainly ready to pay a little more. We so enjoyed Taco Cinco! This is a new and welcome addition to the Thunderbird Road and 7th st area. Historically, there has been some overturn of businesses on the strip mall, but I feel that Taco Cinco is gaining popularity and will be sticking around! We tried the mulitas and tacos with carne asada, carnitas, and pollo. Amazing flavor with all the toppings. Such a good value for what you get. When we walked in, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. It felt good right away. I ordered a burrito and it was amazing. Every bite was packed with flavor, juicy, seasoned perfectly, and honestly one of the best burritos I have ever had. I kept thinking, where has this been all my life. My husband got the asada fries and we both stared at them like they were a masterpiece. The portion was huge, the fries were crisp, the carne asada was tender and full of flavor, and the toppings were perfect. Pure greatness. Taco Cinco serves more than food. We tried a small carne asada fries which is definitely enough for 2 people, a pastor taco and a asada burrito bowl. Of the 3 items the bowl was our least favorite but that said it was yummy enough we finished the whole thing. The star was definitely the asada fries with great flavors but the pastor taco was definitely right there as well. Honestly one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I've had in a while. We ordered basic tacos and sat there for 40 minutes with zero communication. When I finally went up to ask how much longer, they casually told me it would still be another 25 minutes. Over an hour wait for tacos at a fast casual restaurant is completely unacceptable. No urgency, no updates, nothing. We ended up getting a refund and leaving because it was clear nobody cared. Huge waste of time and definitely won't be back. read more
