After five years and a new location this place is still doing it right. This time around the tacos were nice and crispy. The salsa's are amazing, love the heat just perfect. Amazing warm welcoming service.

Oh my chelos!! We were doing our laundry near by and discovered this authentic place. I ordered the #2 combo and it was incredible!!! This is a gorgeous and greasy delicious experience!!!!! I'm a fan now! Thanks for taking me to TJ tonight!

Birria was definitely juicy. Not my favorite. It's seasoning isnt there but! The bar with salsas and lemons make up for it. I loved the pickled onions. Rice was good, beans were burnt. The place is cozy, tons of space to sit and chat. Service was bland. The cashier was really annoyed with our order.

I arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday night. Not terribly busy at this time. Birrieria Tijuana is located in a strip mall on the north side of phoenix. I ordered the ramen that they sell. I was curious what mexican ramen would taste like. It took about 10 minutes to arrive. The ramen was good. The best way to describe it would be if you bought some chili ramen from the store and added some homemade chili to it. I think it came to 17$. The staff was very friendly. I was in and out in 20 minutes. My only complaint would be the styrofoam cup it came in. It seems a little cheap, considering i ordered to dine in.

Wanted to try their birria meat again since last visit was no bueno. This time the meat was tasty and well seasoned. The portion of meat they give you is outrageously generous. I did ask for flour tortilla but came home with corn, still good but I prefer flour tortilla. Also got my favorite, their carne asada all meat burrito. Got 2 of them, one was super dry and the other one was perfecto! There seems to be inconsistency here these days. Going to chill for awhile until the new cook gets his consistency right.

First time here and I'm not familiar with the birria style (should my critique of flavors be based on items dipped in the consome?) Pretty good food when items are dipped in the consome. Kind service. Inside of restaurant is clean. Combo 2 (2 pollo mulita, pollo taco, consome) - the pollo is barely/not much seasoned so the items on their own are lacking. However, dipping in the consome was juicy and tasty, without being overly salty. - consome was light and herby, not unnecessarily salty Combo 3 (Al pastor vampibirria, pollo quesataco, asada taco) - pollo and asada are not much seasoned - al pastor is strongly seasoned For my reference - quesataco is a quesadilla (tortilla with cheese) in the shape/size of a taco - cheesy taco's shell is cheese - mulita is two tortillas on outside with a little bit of cheese and items inside - vampibirria is a tostada with meat and cheese at bottom instead of beans

First time here, had a quick Saturday lunch. Lots of people watching World Cup Soccer. Had the Four Taco Combo served with a beef consomme and shared a folded cheese quesadilla. The combination plate included two shredded beef and two Al Pastor (marinaded pork) street tacos served with finely chopped onion and cilantro. The Al Pastor tacos also had guacamole. Simply served with lots of napkins. Enjoyed the tacos. The consomme was a very tasty seasoned broth. People were buying lots of birria (consume with beef) by the cup. The folded cheese quesadilla was a meal by itself. Have to try the quesabirria tacos on my next trip or the large cup of birria. Friendly staff and good food. Put this one on your list.

Amazing BT cater to birria (my favorite) and they did such an amazing job. I ordered the keto cheese shells and the food went beyond expectations. The meat was so juicy that you didn't NEEd the consume. But all around great food

Great tacos and salsa bar too. I hate when there's no salsa bar, and this one has salsas, radishes and pickled onions. They also have keto tacos which is a bonus. The carne asada and birria are both delicious. I've wanted a taco place I liked in this area of town, and this is it. I'll definitely eat here again.

Every time I come here it gets more packed, which is both annoying and completely understandable because the food is ridiculously good. The tacos are fantastic, the fries are life-changing, and the hongos fries specifically deserve their own national holiday. This place made the Top 100 food spots in America list, and honestly? Deserved. It's the best taco spot in the country in my opinion and makes places like Torchy's feel like they're competing in junior varsity. The vibe is also way above average for a taco joint; lively, clean, and full of people who look like they just took their first bite and immediately started planning their next visit. The taco crew is always friendly too, even while dealing with lines longer than a DMV on a Monday. If you don't know what to order, here's the move: Get one taco or an especial if you're a cheese enthusiast, a medium fry with your topping of choice, and guac with chips. That's the kind of meal that makes you sit in your car afterward thinking about your life choices in a positive way. Enjoy. And maybe stretch beforehand because you're going to want to fight someone over the last hongos fry.

They make my tacos just how I ask every time I come, and I make changes! Most recently was last night after a rough rental car situation (avoid NU check those reviews eek) and the bartender was awesome. Quick service, friendly and took my order perfectly. Strawberry lemonade is my absolute favorite and if you know me I'm a lemonade girl. Tacos are perfect, the meat has virtually no weird fat on them like most tacos do. Both carne and chicken. Delicious. I'm here for five days this trip and I'm going back for sure, may end up at the Tempe location too. I should mention the great atmosphere and getting I got, a "welcome in" from the ladies behind the counter as well as the bartender I wish I got his name. Thank you for making my night :)

Since this establishment offered various types of tacos, we tried a bit of different kinds and overall enjoyed the differences in taste and texture. Specifically, I thought the sonoran taco was very innovative as it involved two kinds of salsa to provide a color juxtaposition, which also offered the carne asada different experiences in flavor. I also enjoyed the costra taco which was made with caramelized cheese over it, offering a pleasant fried flavor on the tortilla itself. The barbacoa taco was very juicy since the beef was very well-made. In contrast, the carne asada taco was a bit dry for some reason, and relied on the avocado salsa for both taste and juiciness. The fish taco didn't have enough fish, and had a lot of batter around the fish along with excessive pickled onion pieces. Since this spot is located in a very nice area, the arts district, I would recommend it to anyone that's around the area. It'd be a nice lunch after visiting the Phoenix Art Museum, which is only a mile away from here!

It was very busy and after ordering, I was standing with others waiting for my food when the other cashier called me up to check on me, thinking I hadn't figured out the process. He was very nice! The place was packed people finished quickly so getting a table wasn't hard. They also had someone cleaning up tables quickly. I got a carne asada caramelito and a carne asada taco. The caramelito continues to be my favorite of the two. Love the roasted salsa on the salsa bar though the hot red one is really good too! I do wish their guac salsa had more tang and salt. I find it bland. These are among my fave tacos but not my absolute so thus the 4 stars.

Sometimes the best meals happen because your original plan falls through. That was exactly the case…read morehere, and honestly... I'm not even a little mad about it. I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.
