We had excellent pulled pork and brisket tonight, along with a great fried pickle appetizer. Sides, especially the slaw, were also very good. Service was friendly and welcoming, portions were large, and prices were extremely reasonable. The dining area is somewhat small, but much of the business seems to be takeout. Bottom line, if you're looking for fancy you're going to be disappointed, but if you're looking for great barbecue, you're going to love Sticks BBQ in Mandeville.

Great service. The bartender was prompt at taking our drink order and serving it. I wasn't impressed with my ol' fashioned there's just something different about the way this drink is made here in Louisiana and I'm not a fan. We were seated promptly once the kids arrived. The waiter was outstanding. He was very polite, prompt, attentive, and most of understanding considering that our 3 year old grandson was

Ordered Zea on Uber and for the price, what a letdown…read more The pasta was the low point. Heavy, and barely any chicken in it. My daughter got the chicken fingers, the one thing kids eat anywhere, and she wouldn't touch them. I tried to finish them and couldn't. So greasy it tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a month. It wasn't all bad. The grilled river trout was actually good and the mashed sweet potatoes were solid. But the Thai green beans were skinny and dried out, no flavor. For what we paid? Not worth it. A couple okay dishes don't save a meal where the kid's plate went straight in the trash.

well it's been awhile since I reviewed..looks like last time I was when I first came back to Yelp…read moreabout nine months ago.. I think I'll review again as I've probably had since the last time seven or eight meals here nothing has changed still holding it four stars. one thing though it's very aggravating with only this ta and no others they're not carrying Heinz 57 sauce anymore by choice because the locals just don't get it no one seems to get it..I mean it is Louisiana and do know they like their hot sauce but other T/A Petros in Louisiana have no problem with it.. that we're not going to hold him to it because the food was fantastic I had a double meal here as usual came in had myself the prior night my usual because this is the only place you're going to get it they're wonderfully delicious famous sausage and chicken gumbo WhoDat!! and a nice salad way I like it with the lettuce and the tomato and cucumber what I like about here that use a nice good fresh celery slices cuz why you can taste that bite it is so yummy. however this is one of those ta-petro owned ones that lost their bacon bits and now have the little jar of shakin bits.. but it's okay the salad is nice and fresh usually nine times out 10. for dinner I decide to have chicken fried chicken...huh? you mean chicken fried steak? now LOL I mean chicken fried chicken.. what is chicken fried chicken will think of chicken fried steak is your cubed beef patty flattened out breaded dusted coated and fried; now gang think of a nice grilled chicken breast done the same way after the chicken breast is cooked it's coated a little bit and breaded and stuck in the fryer and oh is it yummy and.."VÌOLA" chicken fried chicken. same way as a chicken fried steak 30 get this mashed taters and you put the old country gravy on both and Grub down.. add to diet Pepsi. so dinner was good.. I was tired brushed my teeth went out to truck I went to sleep. next morning dinner was great decided let's have breakfast again haven't had breakfast at this one in a while so I decided to go on in there and I got myself to French toast and egg combo. lightly dusted with powdered sugar not heavily and the Smuckers sugar-free syrup. and what's become a huge favor for me at TA and petro and many other places the turkey sausage yes it looks just like a pork sausage patty only when you pick it up there's no grease on the plate or underneath but what is not lost is the flavor..many people I noticed once they try it and they're adventurous enough to think "whatever I don't know if I'm going to like this healthy crap, but here we go down the gullet" the response is usually quite pleasant hey the stuff is pretty good and it's healthy.. I always keep it at the house now Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patties for breakfast sometimes in the freezer... so for the most part a good for stars across the board still I'm not dropping it I'm not adding it get back the Heinz 57 please I like it on my hamburger steak and I like it on my grilled chicken the baked potatoes. all in all though this Country Pride is still a good one one of the older 76 Orange Ball truck stops..and I have no problem I'll keep stopping here it's convenient to New Orleans beats all the traffic and good deal.

The restaurant seems to be undergoing a renovation but it was clean. Our food was nothing spectacular. There was nothing wrong, but there was nothing in the experience to make me want to go back. One thing is noteworthy. Their hours of operation are strange - open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day. A ten o'clock start would seem to exclude the truckers in the adjacent truck stop, as well as anyone trying to get breakfast before they hit the road in the morning. Eight o'clock close is earlier than most local restaurants, let alone a truck stop.

The pork is piled high with coleslaw in between two slices of Texas toast. They are definitely big enough for two meals and I'm a big eater so please take my word for it. The brisket was super moist and so tender. The pulled pork had the perfect amount of smoke flavor throughout. The baby back ribs have a great texture and come off of the bone easily. The pork belly was nice a squishy like a set of cheeks on a baby. But let me tell you something, you have got to try those Dino ribs. You will only need one! It is enough for 3 people.

One night I was there, a waitress was almost in tears stating how mean and catty she was and that it was awful to work when she is there.
