This is the worst Dickey's I have ever been to. I gave it a shot. Do not recommend. Food (meat) - cold. Food (okra) - good OK Uninviting atmosphere and dark Drink station and ice cream machine are filthy. I am concerned about health/safety here. Looks like it has't been cleaned or changed. Value - terrible. Staff - uninviting and brash. I will never return. Close it down. Business is failed. There is no pride taken in this business. I will not recommend this business to anyone else and in fact will tell everyone how horrible it was. What a dungeon. Kitchen area looks old and burnt up like no one cares for the place. Everything looks burnt and blackened. read more

I have never loved Dickeys as a BBQ option because there are so many places that are just better but after this last visit where I gave them a chance I am done for good. Ordered just a pulled pork sandwich, mac and coleslaw....man....where to start. First it took about 20 mins with no one in there to get my food out. The pork was dry and didn't taste fresh, the Mac and cheese is God awful....it tastes like watered down government cheese with no flavor, and the slaw was just okay. And on top of everything the place just isn't that clean which is always a red flag for me. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else for your bbq.....maybe even the gas station because Dickeys is terrible. read more

Ordered through their website, when I arrived and told the dude I had a mobile order and gave him my name he proceeded to turn around to head to the kitchen to check. His pants were half down and proceeded to scratch his bare ass and then rub his face after on his way in which immediately had me questioning my lunch decision. I was told after that they were out of wings. No biggie, asked to cancel my order. Dude said he could not but he'd tell his manager to when they got back. Gave him my order number. Order never got cancelled, never got refunded. Overall would not recommend going here between staff hygiene and poor service... read more

I wouldn't go there, its dark and dirty. The gas stove , serving area nasty, walls greasy gross. The food was wrapped up like it has been sitting for awhile. The employee could not remember anything people ordered, his common phrase, "We are out of that" We walked out wanted to save our selves from potential food poisoning. Do your self a favor, do not go there. read more

They have gone down hill since I last tried them. The brisket was under cooked and very fatty, Cole slaw was nasty, potato salad had too much mustard. Sausage was the highlight of the meal. read more

I scheduled a door dash order ahead of time (about an hour) before it would be picked up. My door dasher called me at the time of pick up to inform me that the doors were locked and they would not let him in at 7pm. The website, google, and door dash all said that the store closed at 9 pm that day. No notice from the store during that hour before the order should have been ready that they wouldn't be fulfilling it. In fact, the DoorDash app said it had been accepted and that it was being prepared. My first experience with Dickey's and I do not think I will be returning. read more

First time customer. I will not be back. Abysmal customer service. Placed an order through Uber Eats. My order was messed up TWICE. Never received the food I ordered. I ended up driving to the restaurant myself to give them an opportunity to make it right. It was a waste of time. I did get a refund, but it cost me wasted time and I never did receive the food I ordered. read more

This place has gone downhill, the food was cold and dry worst bbq I have ever had. Stay away and go some where else.

Absolutely worst food and service I have experienced on the Northshore. The staff had no idea of what they were doing. They kept asking what we ordered and when we got it home, it was stone cold, hardly any meat on sandwich. Baked potato old and unedible. Last time i will go in. The owner needs to take control or he will not have a business. read more

Walked in 20 minutes before closing and was welcomed very kindly. The new owner greeted us very friendly Well recommend

Order was wrong, food was cold, didn't include the sauce or toast. Drink was all ice and watered down. The amount of meat you get for the price is a crime. read more

Wow! went in here because I love BBQ and was passing thru from Texas. the smell is the 1st thing that got me and I should have left, but.. I decided to stay because it did look clean. the young man behind the counter was friendly, but as I watched after I ordered, he would sample the meat behind the counter as we waited on the other side..and I did not see him wash his hands after the sample... sigh... the young lady was very rude, didn't act like she wanted to be there and treated customers in front of me and then myself like we were a nuisance. she also took out her earbud and proceeded to clean it at the register. yuck! then move on to getting our food... without washing her hands... I will definitely not be going back. read more

The brisket was rough. Hard pieces, dry pieces, seemed old. The pork was ok, but seemed similarly aged. The okra was decent but not somewhere I would want to spend my money again. Seems that they take no pride In the product that they sell. After spending over $80 on a family meal, very disappointed.. read more

I ordered through door dash and it was on a Monday. When the driver arrived to pick up my order, he called to say they didn't have most of the things I ordered, so I asked "what do they have?" The answer was "ribs and sausage". I should have cancelled the order but I settled for that. On arrival of my order which was to include a Diet Coke, I got an empty cup!!!! I did not get a chili Mac but I was charged for it as well as for the Diet Coke. The ribs were cold in the center. It was very much the impression of getting rid of the leftovers from the weekend!!!!!! read more

Had Dickey's chain food before it's not bad but this location is shoved in a strip mall store spot and usually dirty n greasy inside. Wish it was stand alone with sit down areas. read more

Horrible food. The brisket was so salty and so tough it was inedible. The pork was also tough and salty but barely edible.

Was dry, was out of bread. Staff emptied trash and went back to serving food without washing hands or wearing gloves. Only thing decent was fried okra. Restaurant was dirty and staff not pleasant. Will not be returning. read more

On top of the review I already posted, this is the only thing I'm offered as a resolution. It costed about that much to upgrade both sandwiches to 1/4 lb! Wtf?! I refuse to accept such a low ball offer. You're fucking lucky this was a DoorDash order cuz if I would've been in person, you wouldn't have had a scene, you would've had a broadway musical!! read more

Man, I love me some smoked meats, and Dickey's doesn't disappoint. My man, Va-shawn, working that knife always brings a smile to my face. Good to see you again, brother! The brisket today was just right; tender and fat, with a terrific bark and lots of yummy seasoning. Past visits have included ribs, always delicious, and even the turkey breast which was so good I wanted seconds. And thirds. No visit is complete without the fried okra, always cooked to order, hot and crispy. Sooooo good. They have other stuff, ha ha ha, but I haven't gotten past the okra to try it. A big yellow cup full of Diet Dr. Pepper or fresh tea, or even a root beer float! Oh, I forgot to mention soft serve available for the low, low price of free? Yeah, they got that. Every experience here has been nothing less than fantastic. 5 stars for consistency and value and my man, Va-shawn! read more

Came on Monday night, the brisket and pulled pork were completely dried out. They were out of Baked Potatoes again. The new guy behind the counter was clearly high on something, couldn't pay attention and ask me same questions over and over with his eyes completely red and dilated. This clearly shows this franchise is in a decline. I had so many good memories over the years of eating here and at other locations. Don't recommend it! read more

Service was on the slower end. We waited 30 minutes to order and there were only 4 people in front of us in line. We watched the worker wipe sweat from face with a napkin and did not change his gloves before serving more customers. Restaurant was not very clean. The food was ok. Multiple things on the menu were out of stock. read more

I tried this restaurant out of state and throughly enjoyed the food so I ran at the chance to relive my experience. That didn't happen. I ordered the ribs with potato salad and Mac and cheese. Though I paid for a meal with the drink included I was only provided one small cup. My total was about $20. The potato salad and Mac and cheese tasted ok, as if it came prepackaged and scoop to serve. I opened my box of ribs to see two slices of raw onion and three pickle slices on top of the paper that sat on top of my ribs that came with the sauce in a tiny cup and wasn't enough to cover the rib. I took a bite of the rib and it was so salty I jumped. Even after applying the sauce, it was incredibly too salty and not edible. I paid $20 for a meal that I ended up throwing away. read more

Unfriendly and rude staff. When I asked a question to the man cutting the meat he talked down to me like I was crazy. The man doing the sides also rude. While waiting for my drink cuts he turned his back on me and was doing something else I had to reask for my cups. I will never come to this Dickeys again. What a shame it's my favorite places to go eat and they took that away from me. read more

I drove 40 minutes to get the food and back home before the LSU game .... when we got home and got the food out we had NO sides but I paid for them! Really defeated the purpose of getting food for the game when I had to make sides anyway! Thanks Dickey's.... for making me work on game night ... not cool! It's been such a long time and no response I almost forgot about this! I sent the email as directed ... glad we don't rely on people responding someone would be dying of starvation if that were read more

Good job. Food was solid. Dude at the lock was courteous. Kind. Got me exactly what I wanted. Cashier was a bit rude on a Saturday afternoon. Lady had the stuffed potato and she said it as perfect. But upon inspection the skin was dry and hard which tells me that they reheated from yesterday or it's been in the steam table since early this morning. Worried about contact points for covid ie self serve soda station /ice tea. Other that solid job. Good customer service at the block but not the cashier. She sucked. read more

Usually we love this place and wanted to support them in this crisis by ordering delivery. it was delivered by Door Dash and when I opened the packs I discovered both of the sides for one of the orders were missing. When I called to tell them, I was told they couldn't deliver the missing items. I asked why they couldn't call Door Dash back to get the items but he said he couldn't do that. The only thing he could offer was some nebulous credit at some other time. We were very disappointed! The food was as good as always which is the reason for the 3stars. read more

This review is for the anniversary meal for 8.80 First off I would like to say for the price it's not worth it although the sandwich was good after pulling off all the gristle and fat. it was about the size of a mc double, Not very big at all . The fries were the best part but that so called cobbler was not cobbler at all, it was more like a snack cake pulled from the fridge after about a week it was like eating a cold fruit Newton. Further more you can try something else from there if you want but for a 1st time exp I will have to give it a 3 out of 5 I almost went to 2 but decided to be nice read more

Disappointed! Ordered catering for a funeral and when I got to the restaurant they said they food is ordered for next week!! I am pretty sure I of the time I needed the food ! The place was empty and yet they said it will take them 45 minutes to get together. No wonder they have 3 stars only and it will keep getting lower !! read more

I had an amazing meal here today. I walked in the unlocked door maybe 5 minutes before they officially opened to be greeted by genuinely nice employees who seemed happy to be there. It smells amazing in here and the dining area is very clean. The food was amazing and prepared immediately. The staff really seemed to genuinely care about quality food and presenting a nice pleasant atmosphere. Great BBQ place. read more

I took my wife and two kids to eat at Dickey's Sunday evening where it is advertised kids eat free. Not only was I charged for two kids meals, but I was also charged for their drinks which comes free with kids meal. I went back up with my receipt to ask if kids still eat for free on Sundays as the big sign on the door states. The guy apologized. Apparently the guy who rang me up was new and didn't know. As I understood it, no one was there at that time that could give me a refund. I was asked to give my name and phone number so someone could call me back on Monday. Here it is, Wednesday, and I still haven't received a call. read more

Service is horrible and the guy cutting the meat is as rude as they come. My first review mysteriously disappeared on here The place has been filthy every time I've been there. Will not be returning, done giving this place chances. No excuse for rude service. read more

Listen sometimes chain restaurants get a bad wrap because.. well... they're chains. But Dickey's does an awesome job. Service is always friendly and everything I've had there is well done From the tacos, to the sides, the turkey, brisket, pulled pork, the sausage and chicken, I've had it all and not once has it been anything but stellar. For the stuck up bbq snobs who have closed minds to anything that's not named a Bubbas or Bobs Pork House they are just that. Snobs. Dickey's has great bbq, great service and at a great price. If you want a place that does the plethora of bbq tournaments etc head on down to Billy Bobs in podunk Tx. read more

My name is John, and I am a BBQ aficionado. To me, the smell of BBQ smoke wafting in the air is intoxicating. Unfortunately there are very few true BBQ restaurants around and I am stuck making my own more times than not. Imagine my surprise when I was driving around a popular strip mall in Covington and saw this Dickey's. I knew that soon I would have to try it, and a couple of days later, I did. My order was take-out, but the inside of the restaurant is quite inviting. It reminded me of the many roadside BBQ joints throughout Texas, but in Louisiana so it was that much better. The staff were very helpful putting my order together and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Speaking of my order, I made it without speaking to anyone. Dickey's uses a pretty easy to navigate online ordering system where all I had to do was show up, take my food and go. Everything else was done online. Being the detail oriented Yelper that I am, I wanted to experience several different items so I opted for the three meat platter. Mine was ordered with brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The pork was slightly dry, but once doused in sauce it was edible. The brisket had a good flavor, but was completely cold. I realize BBQ is not fast food so it may get stored at some point, but cold brisket is not appetizing at all. The ribs on the other hand were warm, smokey and very good. I am sure I will give Dickey's another try, but this experience rates a solid three stars. read more

This place is horrible food was cold. We ordered two chopped bakers. They almost forgot the bbq sauce. I live less than a few minutes away. Upon arriving home the chopped baker was cold. I heated them up in the microwave and to say the least. The food was horrible. We have ate at Dickey's in Texas and had awesome food. The food here is so disappointing. We are trying to support businesses during this pandemic but Hell the food is horrible. Maybe the owner should eat there and see what it is like. Would like to give zero stars but unable too. read more

Went here with high hopes for a good bbq place near the house, sadly this was a very disappointing experience, the food was extremely overcooked and dry. On top of the miserable food, the service was aggressive and quite rude. The man fixing our three and two plate meals, constantly slammed everything around while getting angry at us whenever he put the wrong meat on the plate and then continued to just throw pulled pork in a bin with a pile of mixed meats. To round off our visit the entire place seemed like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. Very noticeably dirty and unkept. read more
