Brisket and ribs with potato salad and coleslaw
    Joe T.

Ribs have a good bite, pull away without falling off the bone, with a sweet, slightly sticky rub (but not overpowering - the meat still has good flavor). Brisket is good and tender - nice smoky flavor. Neither the ribs nor brisket need sauce, but the Carolina vinegar sauce is very good!! Use it sparingly to avoid overpowering the meat. Potato salad and coleslaw are good, but not outstanding. Coleslaw dressed nicely without being soupy. Both are average with no pronounced flavors. Add some Carolina vinegar sauce to the potato salad!! Generous portions all around - you'll probably need a to-go box. Service was okay - friendly people, but a bit distracted by their phones and gossip time (probably not an issue when the place is busy)

Food and service were A1! Definitely recommend! Got the brisket plate with Mac & Cheese and beans. The staff were extremely nice and made sure everything was up to their standards.

Stopped in for a quick bite while doing some work in town. COVID is not the ideal situation to review any restaurant - so keep that in mind. The menu is what you would expect for a BBQ joint. Settled on the Sliced Brisket with Cole Slaw as my side and an Andygator. THE BEST thing about this meal is the Brisket. It was VERY NICELY done. Would definitely eat this again. Cole slaw was okay but needed something. Texas toast was dry and bland. Service was good in a minimal sort of way. A/C was barely keeping up so it was muggy inside. Not a good thing for a southern restaurant. Overall it was good and with some tweaking could get another star.

This place was so nice! Since the moment we walked in the service was great. The restaurant itself is small but seemed pretty busy with takeout orders. We ordered the fried jalapeños/pickles and my boyfriend ordered the brisket with a side of potato salad and macaroni and cheese. I also ordered the Mac and cheese. His meal also came with Texas toast! The food was really good, especially the Mac and cheese and the brisket which my boyfriend said was cooked really well. I would definitely come back next time I'm on the north shore for a cheap but filling lunch!

Amazing and consistent are two adjectives I'd use to describe Sticks n Bones. If you want real deal BBQ, look no further. This place is legit. Since its opening, Sticks n Bones has always been good. It changed hands a little while back and the new owners have improved on what was already a solid restaurant. It's so good I get food there once a week or so. Here's what I like: Wings - The BEST wings I have ever had. Smoked then fried they can be had wet or dry. I suggest wet because they end up lathered in a sauce that's not hot, but so flavorful you will be licking your fingers and the container they came in. Sliced Brisket - The best brisket on the north shore and top two or three in the metro area. It is moist, smokey and that bark. Oooh that bark. Here is what usually happens when I get some to go. The moment I walk in I open the container, grab a slice with my hands, tear it in half, and eat it. I then immediately eat the rest of the slice and probably two more. No plate, no utensils, or anything else. Just my fingers and taste buds that start screaming for more the moment it hits my mouth. This brisket is worth the drive from anywhere around. Chopped Brisket - I normally hate chopped brisket because it's dry and tough. This chopped brisket is as good as the sliced and I have been known to pick up handfuls and shove it in my mouth. Am I a glutton? Yes. But guess what? It's that good. Pork - Not normally a huge pulled pork fan, this is one of my go-tos when they're out of brisket. Their version is actually smokey unlike most I've tried. It is also always moist which is also a good thing. Potato skins - Pimento cheese, pulled pork or brisket and cole slaw. It sounds simple, and it is, but it is also one of the best things on the menu. Brisket chili cheese fries - This needs no explanation. Get it. Don't share. If you haven't figured it out by now, I am a huge fan. Get yourself to Stick n Bones ASAP.

    Burnt end plate! Excellent!!

I needed brisket in my life. So I took the short drive out here and I am so glad I did. The atmosphere is not much. It's just a typical strip mall type restaurant with some wood panels on the walls here and there. Not that I care about the decorating, but some folks like to know about the environment. Clean and utilitarian would be my description. The special happened to be burnt ends which was exactly what I needed. They were delicious, just a little bit of spice on the back end. Perfectly tender little nuggets in my opinion. The fries are good and go well with the fare, but nothing spectacular about them. And then there are the beans. Oh mother of all that is holy....THE BEANS. I haven't had beans this good in years since a local joint in Slidell closed down. They were hot and smoky with little chunks of the brisket in it. Just amazing, so much so that I got a quart to bring home to the family for dinner tonight. I can't wait to get another round of these beans in ma belly! Price seems reasonable to me. Most bbq tends to be expensive. This one is not, it's in the $10 bucks or so range for the plate and I didn't leave hungry. I would strongly recommend getting your bbq fix from this place as opposed to places like Dickey's which is essentially the churches chicken of the bbq world.

    Eat real fine BBQ :p

Yes and they are amazing. Ask for extra pico if you like a lot Bc it can be slim givings. Other than that they are my absolute favorite.

Below are a few highlights from my first visit. MEATS: I tried both the brisket and sausage. Both were super tasty. I didn't eat all the sausage, so I took the rest home to reheat for later. It was even better reheated! The barbecue sauce that they serve for their smoked meats is super tasty! So, if you take leftovers home, be sure to ask for some extra sauce to go. SIDES: I tried two sides on my visit---the potato salad and greens. Both were pretty tasty, but the potato salad was especially out-of-this-world!! APPETIZERS: Yeah, I know it's weird that I'm reporting on appetizers last, but I visited Sticks at lunch the day of an LSU game. So, I ordered a "to go" order of 6 grilled wings for later! Don't you just love grilled or smoked wings? They are so much better than the fried ones that so many restaurants serve. I wish many more restaurants understood that grilled (or smoked) wings are superior! No batter, no frying.... just a really good basting! And, yes, later that night, I ate the hell out the 6 wings I got "to go," dousing them in Sticks' homemade BBQ sauce and Blue Cheese dressing. They were finger-licking good!! Try Sticks if you live nearby or are traveling through. You will certainly be pleased.

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience.
