First time trying one of the smaller steaks - I had the 12 oz Ft Worth Ribeye tonight. Delicious steaks to be had here, as always, but I'm gonna order it medium-rare next time. The thicker, fattier steaks I usually get need a medium tempt to start rendering the fat, but this thinner cut - while still really, really good - would have benefited from a little less time on the fire. Lesson learned and something to look forward to next time. Still, it was a great meal and the house salads these folks serve up as a "side" are a meal in themselves - so fresh, and piled high with lettuce, grape tomatoes, boiled egg, cheddar cheese, and some super crunchy croutons. If ya like blue cheese, you're gonna love it here at TR. don't miss out! This ain't a one time thing, either, the salads are always this good and really complement the whole experience. My girls both got steaks, and salad, plus one of the perfectly baked sweet potatoes. I was a little jelly watching them smoosh butter into the starchy candy heaven - with lots of black pepper 'cause they can. Star of the meal? Dalton. This dude was so on top of good service even my kid was like, "I'mma be more like him at work." And let me tell ya, she's already good, so I was even more impressed! Way to go, ma dude! The service and food was amazing, but I am writing this review to specifically brag on our waitress Emily. We went in today to celebrate Mother's Day, we had a party of 6, my younger sister has Down Syndrome and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last year, the disease causes her to have certain issues, one of those is her perception, and I also need to add that she is short. Beause the tables are raised on a platform, in my sister's mind she could not get up on the bench even with us, her family, trying to coax her, Emily saw her struggling and immediately started talking to her and reassuring her that she could do it, and she did. Came by with a party of six on a Thursday night, for a first visit, and was surprised to see the place packed! Pretty popular, I guess? Not surprisingly, it's easy to hate on family style chain steakhouses for their overwrought western decor and tired cuisine combos, but in this case I'm thinking some good things are going on here. Although staff were busy, service was prompt, welcoming, and efficient. We ordered an array of steaks and sides and all were attractively presented and cooked to perfection. When we got a text that our two tables were ready, we were sat across from each other with a wall between us. My wife and I had a pretty good experience last night. The place was packed as it was a Saturday night and it was dinner time. There was a 25-30 minute wait but the bar had a couple of open seats. So, we cozied up to the bar to have dinner. Ordered a couple of tall "The Duke" mugs of draft beer and we split the 12 oz ribeye steak combo with ribs, some chili, and a loaded baked potato. To start, we were told 45 minutes for a table. It was actually well over an hour before we got sat. Not a deal breaker, it was a busy Friday night. Finally when we get to sit down, they were out of bread. It took well over 20 minutes to get any. But the only reason we did get any was we had to go to the counter and get it ourselves. Met our granddaughter & her husband for dinner last night and everything yes everything was perfect. We got on the wait list and within 10 minutes we were seated. I'm sorry I don't remember our servers name because she was great. We had everything from kabobs, chicken, medallions and I had my filet as always. We also shared the appetizer combo. It is pretty sad that Texas Roadhouse has tables and I've sat my family at in the past on the weekends. Last night, I called there to reserve a table for seven. They told me that they could not accommodate me due to the fact, they could not put the tables together like they have done in the past. They also went on to say if we want we could sit in a booth and it put an extension in the booth. That is not what I wanted. We got there 1hr 30min before they closed. We were a party of 2. The place was quite messy, the floor had trash in many areas and we had several pieces of silverware under our table. The bathrooms were also a mess. Not very sanitary. The roll of paper towels were just on the sink soaking up all the excess water from the faucet, pieces of toilet paper on the floor. I had to ask for different plates because ours were dirty. I know it happens but they could put a little bit more effort into paying attention to detail. Our server was too worried about doing her closing duties rather than checking to see how our food was or if we needed anything. As we were waiting for our food, another employee started sweeping under her table right next to us. She came pretty close to hitting us with the back end of the broom. Tried to call waitlist for a party of 7. We needed a table; not a booth due to size of guests. When speaking with hostess and manager they told us they could not put 2 tables together and accommodate us because it was a weekend. We have in the past been accommodated on a weekend no problem; so not sure what the problem is. If you have more than 4 people on a weekend plan to sit squished in a booth because they are not going to work with you and put tables together for a larger party to sit comfortably and have elbow room. read more

Attempted to take my family to celebrate our daughters 12th birthday and because we are a family of 8 we were told we couldn't be seated together, the manager was picky and so we couldn't be accommodated and sit together as a family with six children. Usually this location is pretty good, and we have no complaints with our server. However, we arrived today-- at the height of dinner service around 7:30--to be told at the outset that they were out of lemonade, Coke, and a variety of other things, so many so that our server had a list to give us when she arrived at our table. We asked for a bag of peanuts and found out that they were out of those. Asked for the bread that normally comes with the meal, and found out that it was out, too; apparently, they had run out of yeast. Our food was ordered and came out basically as we asked, except our salads came out before our appetizer did. Additionally, my dad's sweet potato was lukewarm at best so that the butter never melted. While eating, I heard another server apologize to a neighboring table that the kitchen only had one full rack of ribs left. It makes one wonder why they were still operating with so many things missing from their menu this evening, and, predictably, no manager came around to check on the tables like usual. If this were my first visit to a Texas Roadhouse, I would be upset and would have a horrible impression of the restaurant. The Texas Roadhouse in Covington had been a family favorite since they originally opened many year ago, but the current operators of this location are going to destroy the reputation of this with their poor understanding of what the food is supposed to look like and taste like. My wife and I went to this location on March 6 around 5pm and were quickly seated,. The very attentive server, who just started working there a short time ago, took our orders, so far so good. One favorite is the pulled pork platter, which has a picture on the menu of shredded, "pulled " pork cooked in barbecue sauce. When the food arrived at our table, it was lumps of fatty gristly pork with absolutely no barbecue sauce. When we mentioned it to our server she went to the kitchen and was told that the pulled pork sandwich was prepared with barbecue sauce. If that were true then why did the menu show it cooked in sauce as it has been the other dozens of times my wife ordered it. Maybe they should look at the menu photo as an instructional one and try to make it resemble that. There was no offer to prepare it properly or to credit our bill and offer to prepare something else. I suggest that Texas Roadhouse either train them in proper food preparation or replace the entire kitchen staff. Don't waste your money there unless this happens! read more

7/27/18 7pm I stopped at Texas Roadhouse off I-12 on my way to Texas. I am Expedite drive who drives freight all across the country. The restaurant was slammed busy but I always eat at the bar anyway. Libby was on point and there was a pretty blonde too(I don't remember her name but she was a sweetheart. I had the 10oz Ribeye medium. The chef could not have made the steak any more Perfect! I have been to several locations and all were excellent but this location was more than exemplary! I love Texas Roadhouse because of the butter for the rolls have a special kick and the steak always taste fresh cut. The bartenders always get to know your name and make it a personal experience. Libby was on her game and is management material if ever I met someone who is perfect at her job. 1 of the managers Shelby comes and greets every sitting at the bar and has a great spirit about her. I will stop at this location every time I come to Texas from now on! I can't say enough great things about this I-12 location.
