I hadn't been back to this place since my last review, and maybe I was a bit too harsh previously or maybe they changed chefs but the food definitely seems to have improved since my last visit. There was a line up and more people this time around too. This time I tried the bone marrow pho and also had the roasted brisket pho. The roasted brisket was awesome and easily the highlight of the meal for me. They were also running a promo with free drinks (iced lychee or peach tea), which was a nice bonus. Neither drink is really my thing personally, but hey, free is free. The only thing I didn't like was the removal of the fresh noodle option, but the dry noodle was fine. Service was generally decent as well. Overall, a much better experience this time around, and I'd recommend giving it a try. read more

The food is also very good with some unique pho options such as smoked brisket (I have had this several times and it is sometimes amazing and sometimes a bit tough), bone marrow (rich, but I am not sure if I personally like bone marrow in pho which is already quite rich), and of course the house pho which has a bit of everything. The meat was smokey and the broth was nice. The soft shell crab was a little too oily but the salted egg crumbs added a nice touch. It was heavy though, I was only able to eat half of it. While driving around the East end, I had an immense craving for pho. I looked up best pho spots in Scarborough and decided to check out Di An, as they were highly rated and had lots of good reviews. When we got to the restaurant, there was a waitlist, as it was pretty full. We were able to get a table in less than 10 minutes though! We were seated comfortably in the left corner by the windows. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I loved seeing the interior and pretty lights. I also took notice of the uniforms staff were wearing, and how some of the girls were wearing traditional Vietnamese dresses! There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. I ended up ordering a bowl of phở dặc biệt, a staple dish that I order every time I go to a pho restaurant. My mom ordered a bowl of bún bò huế. Both dishes were extremely flavourful and filling. And this place got on my radar with a lot of positive reviews about the luxurious crab broth and crispy-fried whole soft-shell crab accompanies with it! A large stem of basil leafs, pork ribs with bones, blood cake pieces, Crab cakes, fish cakes, fried tofu, and crispy onion pieces. The crispy whole soft-shell crab came to the table separately. After enjoying a few pieces of crispy crab, I dumped the remaining into the Bun Rieu Cua noodle bowl to add this super extra Umami to it! The soup was good - I felt the Crab/pork flavor but I wanted more balance with Tomato's sourness. Pork used was rib part, came with bones. Nice! But...I encountered a few small, hard and sharp-edged bone fragments, and it interfered chewing. The addition of the whole soft shell crab was really, really great, adding extra flavor and textures to the whole. Many people recommended A04, Cha Re. Loved this. Tried it for the first time on the way back from camping and enjoyed everything. Our server was attentive and the place was super cute. We went for Sunday lunch and were seated quickly. The pho was tasty with a light broth. As a spice lover who loves to douse her pho with sriracha, I was impressed that they offered their own chili paste and pickled garlic and pepper. They sent well with all the dishes I didn't end up touching the sriracha bottle. I also really liked the soft shell crab which had roe and battered with salted egg yolk. We had the bone marrow pho, crab roll and pork noodles, pancake wraps and pork salad bowl with spring rolls. The soup is so full of crab flavour, noodles are bouncy, filled with other meat plus the soft shell crab on the side is the perfect pairing. The chicken wings also perfectly fried, so crispy and juicy. BÁNH HÓI ĐẶC BIỆT- SPECIAL FINE VERMICELLI PLATTER was also really good, pork, beef wrapped in betel leaf and sugarcane shrimp were all perfectly grilled and so tasty. Potentially my new favourite pho place! Their prices are reasonable, portions are decent, service is quick and wholesome, environment is clean and spacious. I went with the go-to house special pho which was delicious... the broth was tasty and I felt they had a decent amount of protein in it. All my friends enjoyed their dishes too. Their price points also seem fair and even slightly more affordable than some competing places in the area. The interior is really nice and modern looking. You can tell how hygienic they are by the little things like how they serve their bean sprouts cooked, which I've never seen at any restaurant unless you request it yourself. They also bring your utensils in a cup of boiling water. They're well staffed, with everyone being friendly and helpful. Authentic Vietnamese food, plenty of options and reasonable price. They have a number of tables so most times there won't be a wait to get a table. I ordered a number of different dishes as seen in the photos. We really loved the bone marrow on offer here. They arrived very hot, and tasted very good. We've been trying various Vietnamese restaurants throughout Scarborough and today was one of the best! As my tip says, utensils are served in a cup of hot water. I think this is more hygienic than the communal cutlery containers at other places. The pho broth was clear and extremely flavourful. We had smoked brisket on the side and it was quite unique. I knew I had to order the crab soup with soft shelled crab on the side. I really enjoyed the thin noodles in the tomato broth. I believe the batter they used on the fried crab had egg yolk which added an extra layer of umami. In addition, we had a bun with grilled meat and another pho with bone marrow. Kudos to the owners for running their establishment the way they're doing and allowing their staff 100% of their gratuities. One thing only - washroom maintenance is super important - I hope they will be more vigilant to keep the washroom floor dry at all times. Actually another thing - phone line needs to be better managed, I've had issue trying to call in as no one picked up. I get it's busy but it would be helpful if we can call ahead for pickup so we can avoid having to wait the extra half hour that could've been avoided. I liked the thinner noodles that they used for this, I feel like it really complimented the light, tasty broth. The bone marrow pho was pretty good, the broth was very tasty but the noodles were a little bit too soft and were on the verge of disintegrating towards the end. These noodles were also super thin, I think it would have been better if they used slightly thicker pho noodles, or cooked them for a few minutes less. The meat they used was excellent. Very tender, fresh, and flavourful. For my friend and I, the portions were very generous. We barely finished our food and were so full afterwards. I've read really good things about the wings but I'm glad we did not order them because we would have had so much food leftover. They are on my to-order list for next time! The servers were all very friendly and the restaurant itself had high ceilings, was overall very clean, and the lovely decor made the space inviting. We ordered the garlic butter fried chicken, bánh hỏi plate, and bone marrow pho. While the food took a little longer to arrive, it was well worth the wait to savor such authentic cuisine. The prices were quite reasonable, even cheaper than some other Vietnamese restaurants we've tried. We were also inspired to learn that the owner is a young entrepreneur.
