Called in to place an order for delivery and was instructed to place it online. However, the website was confusing and kept saying we were out of their delivery range (we're less than five miles from their store). The employee then instructed me to try another platform like DoorDash. I was a little upset by this because I was hit with a $6 delivery fee all because their website doesn't work properly and for some reason, they won't take orders over the phone. Now onto the food, we ordered a BYO stromboli, original buffalo wings and a fettuccine alfredo. Wings were very small and a little soggy even when we asked for them well done. I do like the taste of their buffalo sauce and ranch however. The fettuccine alfredo was average, the cream sauce was really lacking that cheesy flavor. I did enjoy the garlic knots that came on the side with it, they were drenched in garlic butter and as a garlic fan, I can never have enough. The star of the show was really the stromboli. It was perfectly cooked, and I enjoy the garlic butter they brush on top. The bread was delicious and the toppings were tasty. We filled ours with cheese, pepperoni and beef. Beware, the directions to order online are super confusing and I had to end up writing a super long note to try and explain how we wanted our order as the website was terrible. The pizza was a miss, but maybe I should have ordered a classic pizza style like cheese to determine whether their pizza creations are actually good. SERVICE: 5/5 We ordered takeout, and it came within the estimated time which I was happy about since I was really hungry at 9pm. The driver was confused as to where to go, but I won't blame him since the Duke Hollows is new campus housing and even I didn't know how to exactly maneuver around that area yet. Btw, I would recommend telling them to go meet you at the Lots since it's the most convenient place for them to go. The driver was very enthusiastic which is something I don't normally hear every day, definitely gave us very good service. BUFFALO CHICKEN PIZZA: 2/5 I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza in the smallest size. It looked so unappetizing where a picture wouldn't do it justice of how toxic looking it was. The pizza had the sauce and a few pieces of chicken on each slice... it's like they were using their ingredients sparingly because boy did the pizza look depressing. The taste didn't make up for it either. It kind of made me feel sick after eating two slices of the pizza due to the fact it felt like it was missing substance. The crust was eh, it was okay. I paid $15.95 for this, but I couldn't finish it even when I was still hungry. Not worth it for this specialty pizza but maybe it'll be worth it for another type of pizza. CANNOLI: 5/5 The best part of my order was the Cannoli. This was a hit! I'm in love with the chocolate covered ones, this will be the reason why my experience wasn't the worst thing ever. It's WORTH IT. PRICES: 5/5 Good prices for everything they offer would definitely recommend trying appetizers to go along with pizza types everyone seems to enjoy here to get the best experience. Great spot to get a lot of food for not a lot of money. I ordered the chicken parm, and was so surprised at the portion size! I had enough for dinner and lunch the next day! The food was very delicious: nothing too fancy, but I wasn't expecting that anyway. I got the garlic knots on the side and those were pretty good as well. Customer service was fantastic. I had wanted to change my pickup time from the time I set on doordash, and the employee who spoke with me was very understanding and ensured that my food would be ready when I came to pick it up. I was skeptical because restaurants mix up pickup times a lot, but was pleasantly surprised to find my food waiting for me when I went to pick it up. Overall great experience! read more

I have been their customer since it opened its doors back in 2008. I'm loyal to them because the pasta, the salads, the wings, and pizza are simply put, the best. Customer service is outstanding being the director of the choir the owner, Ziad with a good crew of cooks. Prices are reasonable an portions are beyond believe. I highly recommend it. read more

I hate to leave this review, as my fiancé and I love the food and have been regular customers for the last 4 years. Unfortunately, half of our order was missing, and when we called to retain the second half of our order (or a refund, whichever would have been easier for staff), we were reprimanded for reaching out. The food is delicious, staff/management is lacking in interpersonal effectiveness/customer services skills...Also, we were not refunded for the missing half of the order (I.e. a main dish, an appetizer, and a side). The only possible knock I could think of for this place is that's it's not closer to my house! Seriously this place checks all the boxes, and then some. The food is phenomenal. Really really good NY style pizza and wings. Exactly what any true fan would be looking for. Super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Price is very reasonable, especially when you take into account the quality. Atmosphere and staff and are super friendly and they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing like an extra ranch or something like that. Sends a really good message. These were the worst wings I have ever had. They were not seasoned before they were fried in what tasted like fish grease. They were hard and dry. The Thai chili and spicy teriyaki sauces tasted like they came from a bottle (and a cheap brand probably). I will never purchase from them again and cannot recommend them either. I am sure they get a lot of business from where I work and that is really a shame. Be forewarned! They are truly the "devil's wings" but the devil would probably not eat them either. read more

I don't know what to say about this place other than it has the biggest pizza slices I've ever encountered. Like, twice the size of my face. They were good, not great and not bad. The price is really great too. I got two ridiculously sized slices and a coke for $8. Overall, the place has a certain charm to it that I like. After hearing about the awards these folks have won, I had been meaning to try them for a while. I wish I had kept waited, as it was honestly a pretty big disappointment. Opted for a pepperoni pizza, delivery, with garlic knots and a greek salad. The greek salad was honestly not great - the eggs and green peppers make it unlike any traditional greek salad that I know, and the dressing options were again non-traditional. It was fine as is, but rather strange. The garlic bread was entirely forgettable, and the garlic knots were honestly not very good. I'm not a huge fan of Randy's pizza, but the knots from there are about 100x better than this place, where I felt like they were dry and tough. The pizza itself was fine, but nothing special. I've had better pizza from a number of spots, and the price here certainly wasn't low enough to warrant the low quality. A big miss for me. read more

So as a transplant from Virginia Beach and a forever lover of all things NYC I have found a place that satisfies all I miss about Brooklyn in one delicious slice. In Brooklyn its never just about the pizza.. its about the people who make your pizza.. the fact that they know you by name and they don't have time to remember exactly what you order but they always have time to shop talk with you. Its real and unique to the neighborhood. Its cheesy and the sauce isn't sweet like it came out of a can, for me I immediately hate that first bite when its accompanied by sweet sauce. Not at devils. Devils was the first place I ate when I moved here and it literally changed all non new York pizza experiences I've ever had. the guys are friendly. The crust isn't thick. The music is amazing. My husband and I deliver for a food delivery service and were sent here to pick up an order. I walked in and gave the name for the order and was told to wait outside. After waiting for 20 minutes, I went in and asked for an update. I was told it was "in the oven" and to go outside. My husband explained that we had been waiting and just wanted to know how much longer it would be. The employee responded with, "Why don't you just cancel? You're not our only customer and we don't need you." In the meantime, the customer that had ordered the food was messaging me asking about her order. I kept apologizing and explained what was going on. She attempted to call the restaurant, but they would not take her call. Multiple other delivery drivers and customers left angry while we were waiting. We wanted another 20 minutes and my husband went back inside to ask again. As soon as the employee saw him, he yelled at him to "get the f*ck outside." When my husband responded, the employee started yelling and calling him every name in the book, asking another employee to drag my husband outside. At this point, we canceled the trip and left. I understand they were busy and likely stressed out. If they had told me when I first got there that it would be a 45+ minute wait, or if they had given me a timeframe at ANY point, that would have been fine. I will forever be in their debt as Devil's Pizzeria was the only eatery on 9th street open during the recent snowpocolypse. I consider myself somewhat of a pizza connoisseur, and I find their pizza quite good for what it is (a casual pizzeria). You definitely won't be disappointed. A word of advice: If you wander in just to get something to eat, get a slice rather than a full pie because you will have to wait at least 20-30 minutes depending on how busy they are. Woah okay let me first say that I have been totally underestimating this place. We moved here for 3 years and have not found solid pizza/italian takeout anywhere (mothers and sons being too expensive to eat on a weekly basis tho I would if I could). 9th street is a little out of the way for a weeknight takeout spot but after exhausting all options in south durham, we decided to trust Yelp's stars and pics and check out Devil's. Our fellow Yelpers (Yelpians? Yelpites?) did not disappoint! We used the app and did a pick up order: jalapeño poppers, buffalo wings, medium pizza and eggplant parm. The poppers were so flavorful! The wings were cooked well and a solid buffalo spiciness. And my favorite go to, the eggplant parm, was delicious. I am SO HAPPY YALL. The pizza was the only thing that was kinda bleh-It didn't really taste like anything and the crust could have used another few minutes in oven to be more crusty. Solution: out my eggplant parm on the pizza and it became WAY better. Seriously the sauce is so surprisingly good I cannot get over it. Devil's is open late, the staff seems friendly enough and the food is served up pretty quick. The parking is easy (at night) and that's a good formula for when you are starving. That is where the Pros stop. The pizza is passable and it's a shame that the Pizza isn't better. The technique is there, right chewiness, the correct size, the pizza is cooked accurately and the cheese is the highlight. The sauce is loose which may be helpful when you are loading up the toppings. The crust is bland and overall the pizza is disappointing. The Garlic knots and the sauce were not edible. read more
