I've been coming to this wing spot for years, and they never let me down! I ordered the Honey BBQ wings and waffle fries, and everything was so good. The wings were flavorful, and the waffle fries were a great addition to the meal. It's nice to have a place you can consistently count on for good food, and Heavenly Buffalo has always delivered for me. I'll definitely keep coming back! read more

Food was okay but the attitude of one of the workers (might be an owner) was so foul and unprofessional! We stopped by to pick up an order, the place was EMPTY not packed, no line so we parked alongside as it had been more than 30 minutes that we had ordered and it should've been ready. It literally took 2 minute to grab the food and this lady came out with an attitude and cursing, once she saw me in the car she continued with the attitude and foul language! Will never be going back, you can't curse or have an attitude with PAYING clients and expect returned business. read more

Customer service and restaurant score high. The wings weren't my favorite. I prefer crispy wings and these were not so much. I want to give them another chance and may get some tenders next time. read more

Recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. We came here to get some wings. The guy who took our order was chill. He was helpful with ordering. Ordered Bone-In zesty Garlic Parmesaen (wet sauce) and Lemon Pepper (Dry rub) and sweet potato waffle fries and got a few sauces on the side to dip in. Now I'm not a waffle fry person cuz they're usually thick and not crispy but these were super crispy throughout every bite. Loved them. Zesty Garlic Parm was really good especially dipping the sweet potato fries in the sauce! I could buy the sauce on put on everything! The Lemon Pepper Wings were super salty but balanced with the ginger garlic sauce. Sauces on the side: ginger & garlic sauce - 4/5 terriyaki -0/5 too salty sweet thai coconut chili- not a fan, tastes like pina colalda read more

Wings were pretty tasty, they could've been a bit crispier though and the taste of the buffalo was spot on. My problem is with the quality of the fries, I couldn't eat half of them because they were so hard. I think they are just too finely cut and too fried so that combo makes some inedible if they are too thin? Seasoning was good. But okay wings + the fries + all of this costing $19 warrants a 3.5. I'd suggest just getting some wings if you stop by read more

I ordered food from here some days ago but forgot to leave review my food was awful. 3-5 wings weren't cooked all the way my fries were cold tasted like I was chewing plastic. We had the boneless honey bbq and the bone in honey bbq . They just wasn't good . The sauce was not a good honey bbq . We got 2 orders of the waffle fries . They was so hard you could not eat them . I got ranch to dip our chicken In . It did not taste like ranch . I even got a brownie . Was not impressed . The picture you see online for a brownie . Is not what you get . We paid over 100 dollars for this food . It was not worth it. We have ate all over . I mean from the east coast to the west coast . This place needs to do some changes . I would not tell anyone to eat here. read more

Horrible horrible management and staff. The server did not want to give me the itemized receipt because they charged me for things that I did not order. There were only myself and one other customer and this is at lunch time. The restaurant must be losing business to resort to these kinds of shenanigans. Please check your receipts for itemized breakdown unless you don't mind getting rigged off like that. Also the chicken wings had an after taste like it was not fresh maybe it was left outside of the freezer for a while. I sure hope that I won't get sick after eating there. If you like good food and good service don't go there. You will be very diss extremely disappointed I went to the Erwin Drive location. read more

Top relatively cheap, late night food spot in Durham! We got the 6-piece boneless Honey BBQ (classic, not too sweet), 3-piece thighs Zesty Garlic Parmesan (super zesty; the more I ate it, the more I liked the sauce haha), and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries with cinnamon sugar (perfection). Only notes are that the thighs were overcooked & they forgot to give us the blue cheese that we asked for (we got some ranch though so it was fine). Service is fast, ambiance is fine (there are some picnic tables, but we decided to take home). Free adjacent parking lot. 7.5/10 would recommend! read more

this little wing shack exceeded all of my expectations! I got bone-in and was happy with the size of them, as well as the fact that they were drenched in the sauce I chose. from the long list I landed on medium, which was described to me as a perfect amount of heat. I agree! the staff was awesome, making suggestions and just being friendly overall. the sweet potato waffle fries are also a must have, I got garlic parm on them and was able to split a large order with a friend. great little spot! I definitely recommend to anyone in Durham. read more

Only seating is outside I got the Thai wings and they were cooked and sauced perfectly. They can be messy to eat and there are no bathroom facilities so suggest you buy a bottle of water to wash your hands. The fries were to die for! They will not disappoint. I placed an online order around 9:30pm on a Monday evening (they close at 10pm on Mondays) and the estimated pickup time was 10:30pm which was clearly impossible with their hours, so once I arrived (around 9:40pm), I checked in with the employee, who said they had a lot of orders and that it would take a minute but the order was confirmed. I waited in my car until just before 10pm, never got a notification that my order was ready, and when I went to check everyone was gone and they had clearly just cleaned up and closed without fulfilling my order. I filed a complaint with DoorDash, called multiple times, and showed up to the location in the following days to try and get this resolved but a manager was never there and the employees said they could not help. I am very disappointed because I love Heavenly Buffaloes and this could have had such a simple resolution, but now I've had to dispute the charge on my credit card and I won't be going back. read more

As a vegetarian I never got to try wings until HB! I love their wings. I don't usually like meat alternatives but their "chicken" has a great consistency and works well with the sauces. I love ordering from here and there is so much variety. Highly recommend as the BEST place in Durham to have vegetarian wings and get your fix! read more

Visiting from nyc. Wanted something quick for dinner. My partner is vegetarian so figured this would be perfect spot. Food: ordered the boneless (8piece) sweet Thai coconut chili wet sauce with the half order Idaho potato waffle fries with lemon pepper dry seasoning. These are the best waffle fries I've ever had. The boneless wings were good (all chicken breast). The sauce was a little too spicy for me (I am sensitive to spice but order it anyways) but the flavor was still great. Partner ordered the vegan chicken "wings" with same sauce which was pretty good and the half order sweet potato fries with sweet mesquite bbq dry seasoning. Best sweet potato waffle fries I've ever had... so crunchy and flavorful! Service: the person at the counter was nice and gave recommendations. Happy to serve new customers to the establishment. One thing I appreciate is the all in with the vegan option. They had the thought to also serve vegan ranch... many places will serve vegan "meat" but not consider vegan condiments. Much appreciated even though we didn't ask for it specifically. Price: I thought price was pretty decent for amount of food we got. Ambiance: I like the little sitting booth on the outside. Very simple and just a window to order from no indoor dining. Nothing fancy but up-kept and clean. Overall I will be back to try bone in wings and other sauces and dry seasonings! read more

The wings were great and sweet potato fries were great... With that said, there were mistakes with our order: missing things like celery, blue cheese, and they gave us the spicy brownie instead of the regular one. We also ordered carrots and we got those, but were surprised they were only 4 baby carrots. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it's annoying when you pay extra for something, and then extra for delivery, and it doesn't come out correctly. read more

It was our first time trying out Heavenly Buffaloes so we called in with a few questions before placing our order. Our serve truly could not have been any nicer and was honestly our favorite thing about this spot. He was patient, listening to all of our questions and answering them all with so much information! He made some top notch recommendations so we went for the two most popular flavors he suggested: the heavenly buffalo and the thai coconut chili. We also got a large waffle fries to share and a tasty pink lemonade. The wings were very good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I loved the heavenly buffalo flavor which is their take on a classic hot wing. The thai coconut chili was also pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the coconut aspect, it gave it a creaminess which I didn't like as much. The waffle fries on the other hand were DELICIOUS. They were so crispy, thin and had that kind of battered, textured, outside to them, true fry lovers will know what I'm talking about and I've never seen that on a WAFFLE fry and it was soooooo yummy. Will definitely be visiting again! read more

Heavenly Buffaloes has multiple locations in Durham and we landed at this one because it was the closest. That said, this location is take out only. And while I definitely wanted some wings, I did not want to eat them in my car. The young lady at the counter was very polite and directed me to their other location. Hands down some of the best traditional wings I've had. Heavenly buffaloes is a local favorite, and I love to go when I visit my friends who live nearby. The location is great for picking up some wings on the way to a brewery or a picnic. This location offers pickup or ordering right at the window. Speed of service can vary depending on how busy they are. That being said, we walked up on a surprisingly calm Friday night, and had our food within 7-8 min. The location is not a dine-in place, although there are some benches and tables around the side. They also were advertising a trivia night which I think would be delicious and fun! My last visit, I got the Buffalo - med traditional wings and the creamy parmesan. Both were incredible, with the Buffalo being my favorite every time I go. My friends also got their boneless wings and claim they are unmatched (even though boneless wings are basically chicken nuggets). A MUST if you're anywhere near Durham read more

The best vegan wings anywhere. You can get tons of different flavors (the the honeybbq is my favorite). They have traditional wings too and I've heard they are equally tasty. The French fries are terrific, you might be tempted to get a half order but don't deprive yourself the joy- go for a full. I recommend getting the dry rub on the fries since the wings will already be saucy. Friendly service and super fast. I prefer the location near broad and market to the newer one - but you can't go wrong with either!! Delicious! read more

Heavenly Buffalo is a solid chicken place. The chicken is usually on the drier side, but the sauces that accompanies it makes up for the dryness. For any of my spice lover out there, I would recommend to go spicier than the mild - because the mild is not spicy at all. The buffalo sauce is on the creamier side of sauce, and really hits all the buffalo wings craving. The lemon pepper is also a very nice dry rub. You really get all the hits of lemony-ness and pepper all at once and it is a dance party in your mouth. The fries, although not crunchy, has a great taste to them. It reminds me of Jack-in-the-box fries. Overall, the chicken and fries are perfectly salted. Although the chicken is slightly on the drier side, the sauces and rubs really elevates the chicken and I would recommend this place! Taste: 3.5/5 Presentation: 3/5 (not something they care about) Recommend to a friend?: Yes Consistent: Yes Cost: $$ Parking: small lot on the right side of the restaurant read more

We ordered vegan wings with two different sauces and it was so amazing! We really enjoyed how crunchy and tender the vegan wings were and it was such a thoughtful thing to put on the menu! Heavenly Buffaloes - Vegan Wings - Chicken Wings Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

I came here after looking up Vegan options on Yelp last time I was in the area. I opted not to go at the time due to the distance but it came to mind while I was in town on Saturday. Based on the reviews about the long wait times, I decided to call my order in so that it would be ready when I arrived. Per the suggestion of fellow Yelpers, I ordered the Thai chili vegan wings and the plain waffle fries and started the 15-minute drive to Heavenly Buffaloes. When I arrived, I walked up to the window to pick up my order which set me back less than $13. En route to my destination, I decided to munch on my goodies. The wings were absolutely delicious. Sticky, spicy and sweet and the peanuts gave it a wonderful texture. The wings themselves had a nice texture outside and the inside had that meaty texture that vegans tend to miss. It was great. Loved the fries, though I wish they had been a hair crispier. The seasoning was spot on and they were nice and hot. The 7 wings were more than enough for me. I think I ate 3 with the fries for lunch and had the other 4 for dinner. Overall, I think this place is great and can't wait to come back and try the Jerk sauce. read more

These are the only good vegan chicken wings I've found since becoming vegetarian. I used to love chicken, and no longer feel like I miss it after finding this place. My favorite are the sweet chili thai and the buffalo sauce on the vegan wings -- I would like to be buried with these wings. My only regret in life is no longer living in North Carolina, and therefore no longer having access to these wings. Please expand to the rest of the country!!! :))) read more

I love Heavenly Buffaloes! We live in Wake Forest but every time we are around Durham or Chapel Hill we stop there to eat some wings. The Heavenly Buffaloes dry seasoning is so good that it's worth the 35min drive just to eat there. We usually get some boneless wings with dry Heavenly Buffaloes seasoning and the Idaho fries with dry Heavenly Buffaloes seasoning. I also get the Mexican CocaCola that goes so well with the wings! The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes the chicken is dry, most of the times at the original location. They opened a new location in Durham and that's where I've been going now and they have indoor sitting. We also like the Chapel Hill location because it has indoor sitting and it's nicer but it's farther so we don't go there as often. read more

Great little hole in the wall place. Very good wings and sweet potato fries. Quick service and good prices.

Came here a bit ago because I've heard good things. Those things are true! I got the 7 bone-in wings with Buffalo sauce and the fries with lemon pepper seasoning. It was all so good and so fresh. My one complaint is there is virtually no seating and this food doesn't travel super well. They have 2 picnic tables in between their 2 dumpsters so it's kinda gross with trash everywhere and smelly. I ended up not sitting (I was alone with my dog & she was all about trying to eat the trash on the ground) so I went home. The fold was still good but the fries were soggy and the wings got cold fast (I live 10 min away) so the food didn't travel great but I ate some fries in the car and a wing and it was so good when it was fresh! You order at the window and step aside to wait for your order. This location has a small parking lot and it's a little small shack. Not mad about it, just letting others know :) read more

I didn't like wings until I initially tried this place...the boneless wings here are so amazing! I usually get the mild wings but decided to do something different and try the sweet thai coconut chili wings today. The spiciness and sweetness of this flavor is fantastic. I tried the waffle fries after hearing about how good they were and I was not let down! The freshness of everything was great and I liked that you could get a Dos Equis for five bucks. The only downside is that even with no peppers beside the flavor indicating spiciness on the menu, the wings are still pretty hot. I like spicy but for someone who doesn't, there may not be a lot of options. I do wish the outside had tables that were under shelter and not just umbrellas. There are only a few tables and not a lot of area underneath the place you order to wait. More seating and more covering would give this five stars! read more

THE place to go for buffalo wings in Durham! They have a lot of different sauces available with varying ranges of spiciness. I usually order the 1lb of boneless wings and ask for half to be one flavor, and the other half to be another flavor. Don't forget the side of waffle fries! I love the garlic parmesan flavored ones. A full sized waffle fries order is a giant pile that fits inside a to-go container and more than enough to share between 2 or 3 people. Tip: There can be a bit of a wait if you go during a popular time, so I would suggest calling ahead to pick up your order. Just know that when you get there, you still have to stand in the same line as other people who are ordering so that you can pay for your order before you pick it up. There isn't a separate pick up line. read more

The chicken wings here are good. I'm from Buffalo and I was impressed. Although the Buffalo sauce is non-traditional, but it's delicious and they do a good job. I also tried the zesty garlic parm (which is delicious) and the honey mustard Carolina (also very good). Customer service here does leave a lot to be desired. It's annoying they don't let you split sauces for an order of 13 wings. It's understandable that they don't for 7, but for 13 I feel they should at least give you the option, even if for a dollar or two upcharge. They are brisk on the phone and in person, probably because they are incredibly busy - but an acknowledgement and a smile would go a long way. The product is good though - so if you're craving some great wings in the Durham area, Heavenly Buffaloes is where you should go. Just be sure you eat them quick after pick up as the container will uncrispen them a bit in transit (and this is a takeout only biz). read more

I don't miss much about Durham, but I miss my local wing place! I moved about 2 years ago and haven't had my wing fix since! I wish I had some photos to share, but trust me. I always got the boneless wings with half Sweet Thai Coconut Chili and the other half with Carolina Honey Mustard. The waffle fries with the Garlic Parmesan seasoning were a hit every time. I miss this shack on the corner so much! Hopefully one day I can come and visit again soon and get my wing fix! Locals, please eat some fries and wings for me! read more

Super excited to try this place based on reviews. Grabbed 7 of the vegan wings with zass -hoff sauce and an order of Idaho waffle cut with the heavenly buffalo dry rub. Wasn't expecting much from the vegan wings but they were actually pretty good and just the seven of them was pretty filling. The fries were a disappointment. Seemed like they had been cooked much earlier in the day. Tasted stale and somewhat bland with the heavenly rub providing little in the way of taste. The full order of fries was a lot of food and that was cool but since they weren't that good I didn't finish them. The guy taking the order was friendly and the food came out fast but I would prob not return here. read more

I used to live five minutes from Heavenly Buffaloes, and I regret not getting their chicken wings every week! You probably already know they have the best wings in Durham, so I'll just echo everyone and say they do indeed. I have not tried all of their sauces and rubs yet, but I really like their medium sauce (this is PLENTY spicy) and the zesty garlic Parmesan. My suggestion is to get 7 piece bone-in and 7 piece vegan wings (soy nuggets) and a full thing of waffle fries (if you get half, you will regret it, I promise)--this would be plenty for two people. They have online ordering for all locations and deliver via DoorDash. read more
