7 Bone In (7 Pc) Half Idaho Waffle Fry Buffalo hot level 3 & garlic Parmesan seasoning for fries
    Lauren S.

Wings were pretty tasty, they could've been a bit crispier though and the taste of the buffalo was spot on. My problem is with the quality of the fries, I couldn't eat half of them because they were so hard. I think they are just too finely cut and too fried so that combo makes some inedible if they are too thin? Seasoning was good. But okay wings + the fries + all of this costing $19 warrants a 3.5. I'd suggest just getting some wings if you stop by

Recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. We came here to get some wings. The guy who took our order was chill. He was helpful with ordering. Ordered Bone-In zesty Garlic Parmesaen (wet sauce) and Lemon Pepper (Dry rub) and sweet potato waffle fries and got a few sauces on the side to dip in. Now I'm not a waffle fry person cuz they're usually thick and not crispy but these were super crispy throughout every bite. Loved them. Zesty Garlic Parm was really good especially dipping the sweet potato fries in the sauce! I could buy the sauce on put on everything! The Lemon Pepper Wings were super salty but balanced with the ginger garlic sauce. Sauces on the side: ginger & garlic sauce - 4/5 terriyaki -0/5 too salty sweet thai coconut chili- not a fan, tastes like pina colalda

I ordered food from here some days ago but forgot to leave review my food was awful. 3-5 wings weren't cooked all the way my fries were cold tasted like I was chewing plastic. I was already home when I started eating the food and did not feel like driving over there again. Never going to this location again.

Full Sweet Potato Waffle Fry; Honey BBQ boneless; Zesty Parmesan thighs

Top relatively cheap, late night food spot in Durham! We got the 6-piece boneless Honey BBQ (classic, not too sweet), 3-piece thighs Zesty Garlic Parmesan (super zesty; the more I ate it, the more I liked the sauce haha), and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries with cinnamon sugar (perfection). Only notes are that the thighs were overcooked & they forgot to give us the blue cheese that we asked for (we got some ranch though so it was fine). Service is fast, ambiance is fine (there are some picnic tables, but we decided to take home). Free adjacent parking lot. 7.5/10 would recommend!

Only seating is outside I got the Thai wings and they were cooked and sauced perfectly. They can be messy to eat and there are no bathroom facilities so suggest you buy a bottle of water to wash your hands. The fries were to die for! They will not disappoint. Food was a 5 No bathroom puts the ceiling at 3.

Visiting from nyc. Wanted something quick for dinner. My partner is vegetarian so figured this would be perfect spot. Food: ordered the boneless (8piece) sweet Thai coconut chili wet sauce with the half order Idaho potato waffle fries with lemon pepper dry seasoning. These are the best waffle fries I've ever had. The boneless wings were good (all chicken breast). The sauce was a little too spicy for me (I am sensitive to spice but order it anyways) but the flavor was still great. Partner ordered the vegan chicken "wings" with same sauce which was pretty good and the half order sweet potato fries with sweet mesquite bbq dry seasoning. Best sweet potato waffle fries I've ever had... so crunchy and flavorful! Service: the person at the counter was nice and gave recommendations. Happy to serve new customers to the establishment. One thing I appreciate is the all in with the vegan option. They had the thought to also serve vegan ranch... many places will serve vegan "meat" but not consider vegan condiments. Much appreciated even though we didn't ask for it specifically. Price: I thought price was pretty decent for amount of food we got. Ambiance: I like the little sitting booth on the outside. Very simple and just a window to order from no indoor dining. Nothing fancy but up-kept and clean. Overall I will be back to try bone in wings and other sauces and dry seasonings!

It was our first time trying out Heavenly Buffaloes so we called in with a few questions before placing our order. Our serve truly could not have been any nicer and was honestly our favorite thing about this spot. He was patient, listening to all of our questions and answering them all with so much information! He made some top notch recommendations so we went for the two most popular flavors he suggested: the heavenly buffalo and the thai coconut chili. We also got a large waffle fries to share and a tasty pink lemonade. The wings were very good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I loved the heavenly buffalo flavor which is their take on a classic hot wing. The thai coconut chili was also pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the coconut aspect, it gave it a creaminess which I didn't like as much. The waffle fries on the other hand were DELICIOUS. They were so crispy, thin and had that kind of battered, textured, outside to them, true fry lovers will know what I'm talking about and I've never seen that on a WAFFLE fry and it was soooooo yummy. Will definitely be visiting again!

Heavenly Buffaloes has multiple locations in Durham and we landed at this one because it was the closest. That said, this location is take out only. And while I definitely wanted some wings, I did not want to eat them in my car. The young lady at the counter was very polite and directed me to their other location. As for this one, I'll be back when I'm looking for takeout in this area. [Review 15527 overall, 1031 of 2021, number 3066 in North Carolina.]

One of the first few restaurants I tried in North Carolina is @heavenly_buffaloes because I heard good things about this place! They specialize in chicken wings and didn't disappoint. There are so many flavors to choose from! We ordered: Honey BBQ Boneless chicken wings - so saucyy! Dry rub chicken thighs - crispy Waffle fries - We got a large and holy the portion size was HUGE it can probably serve like 3-4 people

Food was great I had the chicken breast sandwich with waffle fries. The service was also good and quick to deliver. The ambiance with TVs on two walls was good for watching footage.

Great fries! I loved the seasoning (jerk) on the crispy waffle fries. The wings were below average...I could almost tast the old grease.

Ask the Community - Heavenly Buffaloes

Is there a brewery or nearby restaurant that would allow Heavenly Buffaloes customers to bring their food inside? I know HB does not have inside seating.

That easy! Come to the new Chapel Hill location! Full seating and great beer selections to go with the already great food!

How are the vegan wings? Consistency, flavor, value, etc.

They remind me of Chick'n brand. They are similar in shape and size to boneless real chicken wings but softer. The breading is very good and the sauce really permeates. They were very flavorful and a tad expensive but very, very filling.

Since it was our first time at Pure Soul, the host gave us drinks on the house (we got Sweet Tea, Lemonade, and Root Beer). The tea and lemonade were on the sweeter side, but I enjoyed both. My sister liked the root beer, which was from Uncle's Scott's, a local NC brand. They also offer a discount for teachers, students, and veterans. For entrees, we got the: - Drumstix plate (BBQ, buffalo, or fried- included rice and a sauce): We chose fried- it was perfectly crispy, so tasty. Couldn't choose between hot honey and honey mustard, so they gave us both, again so nice. Rice was well-cooked. - Chicago burger (grilled onions, cheddar, pickles, tangy aioli): Classic! Enjoyed this overall. - Fried fish plate (includes rice, slaw & tartar sauce): This is funny, but this dish was a bit too fishy for me lol. But crazy how well they do their vegan alternatives. - BBQ plate ("pulled pork" in a sweet BBQ sauce, served with slaw): Probably my least favorite entree, I think the pork was too sweet for me, but it did balance with the slaw. We tried a bunch of sides, which from my most to least favorites were: Soul Mac (not too cheesy), Hushpuppies (crispy outside, pillowy inside), Rob's Favorite Cornbread (so moist), Sweet Potato Fries (classic), Bilbo's Greens, Blackeyed Peas & Veggies, and Nik's Candied Yams (too sweet for me). Ambiance is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking available. 10/10 would recommend!

Our son had the kids impossible burger and mac n cheese. My wife had the Soul Rolls and I had the bbq (vinegar based) plate with slaw, mac and cheese and greens. We also had 2 drumsticks. The kids plate was devoured quickly- the burger is slider-sized and comes with onion, tomato, lettuce and pickles on the side (surprisingly the veggies were untouched but I claimed the pickles). My wife said the Soul Rolls were a 10/10- crispy eggrolls stuffed with mac, greens and sweet bbq protein. My plate was good too but I wish it came with bread instead of counting it as a side. Also wish it had a little sauce on the side. Greens were seasoned well and the mac was creamy. Drumstick was amazing but a bit steep at 4 bucks each. Only criticism is that we wish the side portions were a little bigger for the price. Still won't stop us from returning in the future when in town!

I tried this, but the system wouldn't even let me try until 30 days in advance, which I did, but was told I wouldn't need a reservation on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm for two people. I showed up and half the staff seemed really confused until I pointed to the tiered plates on other tables, then they said "ohhh the tea party!" lol. They got someone else, who said she wasn't sure she could accommodate us because we didn't have a reservation! I showed her the email on my phone which said "your reservation request was denied" because we supposedly didn't need one. I wouldn't usually have been so insistent but my friend had driven like 40 minutes to hang out and have this plant-based experience. She ended up relenting and bringing us the "tea party." The tea cups were the size of a shot glass and the tea bag selection included Lipton. I think it would have cost them basically nothing to give everyone their own teapot so you could actually seep your own flavor of tea, or even a bigger mug. It was just a little silly. They also start you off with a cute little labeled pitcher of lemonade- so cute but I wish they would have continued with this theme of labels or else just given us a pitcher of water because I was really thirsty by the end. The food that was made in house was delicious- the vegan pimento cheese sandwiches (bread tasted kind of stale though), the samosas and other savory pastries were delicious. The star of the show for me was the flatbread- veggie with some sort of aioli on it- I just loved it! Then there were store bought crackers and jelly (not chutney as we'd hoped/thought) and some store bought cookies. They had homemade vegan baked goods there, so I wish they had just tried a little harder to have some on hand for the high tea experience. The ambience was not great for a high tea experience. It's fast-casual so you order your high tea at the counter. Also they had the door open so it was really hot and the pollen was coming in. All in all, I would return but definitely for take-out, never for the high tea. The cost per person was not commensurate to the experience I had. That's a bummer because with some very small tweaks they could have a great niche!

She got pretty perturbed that I did this but went and informed the manager anyway - show as watching videos on her tablet and didn't seem to care. No bother for me, I just trying to be nice and make sure an issue didn't happen. The manager came over later and told me they were working on the pipes, causing the issue, nothing to worry about. The front desk person was completely put off, like I was complaining - which I wasn't. Kinda weird. Next order was a door dash a few days later and it seemed to be lacking the care pout into the in house order - but it wasn't bad. Food is good but my main reason not to return was the front counter person not wanting to see customers on a Sunday morning, makes for an awkward experience.

Ordering is walk-up, and food is delivered to the table. Menu is broad with clear gluten-free indicators (huge plus). Coffee was dark and delicious, and service throughout was genuinely warm, knowledgeable, and fast -- easily 5 stars for hospitality. Getting to-go boxes was effortless and we were offered refills often. Food was a mixed bag. My wife had the gluten-free smoked salmon toast with avocado. She wished the veggies and tomato were grilled; the GF bread itself was very good, but the greens/tomato ended up pushed aside. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. The salmon portion felt light, and the hollandaise leaned more toward mustard than citrus and was a bit thin. Breakfast potatoes and veggies were nicely cut and well-seasoned but undercooked; same for the bacon, which tasted more tough than crisp. (I reheated the potatoes/veg at home -- flavor was there once cooked through.) Prices felt reasonable, ingredients seemed thoughtfully sourced, and the team's earnestness shines. With a little tighter execution (fully cooked potatoes/veg, crisper bacon, brighter/thicker hollandaise, slightly more salmon, grilled tomatoes), this would be an easy 5. I'll definitely be back -- I gave it a 3.7 but rounded it up to 4 stars for the service, coffee, and GF-friendly menu options.

My friend had the rotisserie chicken with two sides, kale and slaw, and it was just as impressive. Crispy skin, juicy inside, and really clean flavors. Simple food done right and GF friendly. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Prices land right where you would expect for the quality, roughly 16 to 21 dollars depending on what you order, and it feels worth it. My bowl plus side of dark chicken was plenty. A few notes. Parking is what you would expect for downtown, so plan accordingly. Service was solid and friendly, but nothing that stood out. And when I last lived in Durham 30+ years ago, having Ethiopian on Main Street Durham was unimaginable. But Durham on so many levels is a completely different universe. Goorsha is a very pleasant small dining room off a welcoming bar area when you come in. It was overcast and cold this early March day but the outside dining must be lovely later in the spring. We had a very helpful waitress answer a few questions and the food came quickly. The Sambusa appetizer should have perhaps taken a bit longer. The edges were crisp and tasty as was the Deko sauce it came with. But the center was still a bit cold so a bit more time was needed. I wanted beef tibs and went with the Zilzil tibs knowing there would be less sauce and danger of staining my work clothes. They were plentiful, well-cooked if not powerfully seasoned. They were quick to bring ample powered pepper so I could give it some kick dipping each injera enveloped bite for some added heat. The winner was my vegetarian dining companion who went with the very flexible pick three from many vegetarian options. They were a distinct yet complimentary troika of richly favored dishes. At least for lunch, Goorsha goes with individual plates rather than the traditional round platter family style so familiar in Ethiopian cuisine. It definitely worked for us given one of us was a vegetarian and the other all tibs all day. Definitely very glad to see it just across the street from Brightleaf Square and one of the earliest areas converted from tobacco warehouses to fashionable eateries. Glad it is part of the Durham eating scene.

The injera was delicious and all the vegetables dishes were tasty but my favorite was the one the left next to the jalapeño, I think it was a red lentil base but I forget the name. Plenty of parking, good prices and I can't wait to be back.

The space is a little tight but they do have outdoor seating which worked perfectly for our group. I also loved that they served cocktails in to go cups. The food was outstanding - a melty, crispy edged smash burger with a side of cheese tots, yum! We also got the chicken tenders and fries for our daughter and the bites I tried were delicious. This will definitely be a spot we visit when we want something quick and scrumptious if we are in the area!

I had the double classic burger. I wasn't really impressed. It lacked the flavor and seasoning I thought I'd get based on how good the burger looked. I needed to add ketchup and mustard to the burger to get a decent taste from it. The fries were great. I got the spicy seasoning that they offer. Now that I think of it, they should have cooked my patties in the seasoning they put on the fries and it would have been a lot more tasty. There was a good amount of people at the restaurant, so they may have had a difference flavor experience than I did.

I came to visit Durham for the first time in a long time And was pleasantly surprised to see all…read morethe new and exciting restaurants. A friend suggested we try this place. We made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Our host was Anthony, I think his name was, with a keen interest for ginkgo trees. He was very attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. He took her order and had some good suggestions. I was craving shrimp and grits which was probably the most unique shrimp and grits. I've had ever. Very distinct flavor and still very rich and familiar. The shrimp were large and juicy as well as remained crunchy overall cooked very well. We also had the summer tomato and burata salad which was really refreshing and delicious. My friend ordered the mac and cheese which is a hefty serving size. Definitely a shareable side or a main for one person. Our host came to check on us frequently, our Waters never went empty. Other hosts were also helping check in on us which was nice. The restaurant itself is large. Booth tables available, which made for a cozy environment. We ended the night with some brownie a la mode, which was the perfect dessert to have on a hot summer day. Overall the experience was amazing, great food and incredibly nice people. Definitely Miss miss the southern hospitality of Durham. Definitely recommend a try here at plum Southern kitchen & bar.

The menu had recently changed so we got to try quite a few new items. We tried the panzanella- sweet corn, red beans, heirloom tomato, patty pan squash, pea tendrills, and a roasted red pepper vinaigrette. This dish was my favorite of the night- small but shareable, entire dish was refreshing and all the flavors and textures went together so well. For dinner I ordered the roasted chicken and the baked mac and cheese with bacon. The roasted chicken was juicy and tasty, and a bit sweet with the bourbon ginger and plum reduction, but the mac and cheese seemed dry and overcooked. We also ordered the buttermilk cheddar biscuits- that taste slightly undercooked (in a good way), so the texture was soft and chewy (and amazing). The honey butter and large maldon salt granules made the biscuits perfect. They were so good we ordered a second order!! I would definitely return to Plum, for both the food and hospitality.
