I stopped by Wings over Chapel Hill, as my boyfriend said, they have some of the best wing in the area. I ordered for pick up and I ordered the lemon pepper and Carolina bbq wings. Arrive and the place is busy and I was help pretty quickly. The customer service was good for a pick up order. The restaurant is clean and decent size place for dining. The wings, OMG were not only delicious, they are huge, juicy and flavorful. My favorite was the Carolina BBQ hands down! Food is actually getting worst and service and delivery as well, when they recently updated and changed the store at first it was great my food was amazing and service was as well, now in the past month that I've had them again there is always food missing there is no communication or anything if your order through their app and always late. I've noticed my food has come smelling like weed and bag opened up with drinks tossed in there making my food cold and soggy and my drinks warm. I called and was told that the driver must have opened it but that they couldn't do anything. Ambience at the store doesn't feel any better doesn't matter how bright and new you make it if you don't have good customer service workers then you're still shit. This place is going down hill, placed an order and when picked up we had horrible customer service with the man there tonight he is cursing and scratching his balls and ass and grabbing bags of food and drinks, he is cursing and rude as hell and ask for big tips like his joking around, he really isn't. One of these stars is because they delivery free, the other is for... I don't even know. I've gotten wings from here because it's the only place nearby for wings. I went in with my mom to order take out and we were over charged $20, then we ended up waiting almost 40 mins for some wings. We asked to make sure that they included my boyfriends set of boneless and then they didn't so we had to wait even longer. Finally we left and got home. We were MISSING 10 wings. We called back at this point really pissed off and asked if they could deliver the 10 wings since they do free delivery anyway. They said they couldn't. So they ended up giving us credit. How frustrating. The wings aren't even that good for all that trouble and the boneless chicken strips are dry, and flavorless unless they do what they normally do and pour a TON of the mediocre garlic dry rub on them. I placed an order on Saturday night at 11pm for pickup. I arrived 15mins later to see the entire staff outside having a party. They were smoking, eating wings on the back of parked cars that had music blasting and just relaxing have a grand ol time. I walked in to absolutely no one inside the establishment. He walks straight in and starts cooking. DID NOT WASH HIS HANDS AT ALL. I was disgusted. I went to ask the front desk lady for my money back and she gave me the "1 minute finger" so she could go back outside to finish her partying with randoms. When she finally came back in I asked for my money back and she told me that I was being weird. I explained that I seen that none of them washed their hands and she was super rude about giving me my money back. Her name was Candace and the other guys name was Thad. There's been talks of tearing this section of Carrboro down and replacing with retail/apartment space and I completely agree. This restaurant is a drug den that needs to be dealt with. I suggest Carrboro PD sit in the parking lot one night to see how much of a difference the drug use outside in the open would make and hopefully change. Good wings -- I've tried just about every sauce and while I like some better than others, I've never gone wrong overall. I've also tried the boneless wings (essentially chicken planks), salads, and even the ribs -- all very good. I've ordered from Wings Over dozens of times and delivery is usually prompt, although on a couple of occasions it pushed up against an hour. I like how you can monitor the progress of your order once it's been placed online. There have been a couple of times where my order was wrong or incomplete, but if you call them they will credit your account for next time. When I first moved to the area, they sold their wings by piece but about a year ago switched to by weight. It reduced portions (and prices) noticeably but the quality remained the same, so no worries. I very recently wrote a review on how I think that Sup Dogs should get the "Most Clutch Restaurant" award on Franklin Street. Well, if that's for dining in, then here's my vote for delivery. A sufficient portion of Wings Over (which I think is at least 10 wings, or a pound of boneless) will cost almost as much as two Medium 2-topping pizzas from Domino's. And that gets pretty close to the Papa John's deal too, which is 2 Large pizzas. Purely based on volume, there are more optimal choices. For moments like these, there's Wings Over. This place is the only dedicated wing delivery service in the Chapel Hill area. And you might be saying, "But Domino's has wings, I can just get them there." But here are a few reasons why Wings Over is the better move: 1) The pizza place wings, although cheaper, are smaller. Especially boneless. 2) You get so many more flavor and spice options at Wings Over. 3) Sure, you COULD order wings at a pizza place. My dad makes a damn good steak, but he's owned a Chinese restaurant for 25 years. You're ordering Chinese food from him. ... So yeah, I would highly suggest that if you're feeling chicken wings, this is the place to order from. They have a lot more variety to choose from, and the chicken is decent-sized and pretty good. Every order also comes with your choice of blue cheese or ranch dipping sauce, and celery. I've also never had an issue with their delivery. Don't get me wrong -- pizza's delicious. Oh my god where do I even start.. If there is one thing I miss from chapel hill is this place. I tried both their wings and their sandwiches and they were both amazing. The chicken was juicy, the sauces were just the right amount of spicy, and some even get me started about their waffle fries. I remember they had different flavors and if you asked me to name my favorite I could not. It was, though, more of a takeout and delivery place, it surprised me after a couple of times ordering from them when I found them here on yelp, I was biking to franklin and I saw it, it's small, cozy. One of my other favorite things about this place(actually this is probably the best part) is that they're open until outrageous times in the night. Need a 2am snack? I ordered our wings and fries through their website and expected to receive a call that they were closing or weren't delivering for the rest of the night (this has happened to us before with other restaurants). 15 minutes later, the delivery guy was at our door. Wings.Over.never.disappoints. About the wings: The wings and waffle fries were well-seasoned, hot, and absolutely delish. I have no complaints. I love my wings crispy and drenched in sauce, and Wings Over does this well. I'm sure you've heard about the size of the wings, and this holds true. A lot of food for a great price. The speedy delivery (at that time of night) was the icing on the cake. P.S.--my favorite sauces are Texas Mesquite, Honey BBQ, Kickin' BBQ, and Cruisin' Altitude, if you're looking for suggestions to try. I'm from upstate New York where Buffalo wings originated and find it damn near impossible to find good wings below the Mason Dixon line. Thus I'm a bit hard to impress. I've never eaten in and have only ever had delivery from here. The fact that they have free delivery is a plus when it comes to ordering for me. My wings have always arrived warm but not hot so they normally need to be popped in the microwave for a bit to get them an edible temperature. As for the wings I recommend the boneless wings. I've had the bone-in wings before and found them bloated, soggy, and fatty. They're not crispy and instead are a disgusting mess. The boneless wings are quite large and have a good crunchy coating that soaks sauce quite nicely. I've had the Garlic Parmesan (pretty good, less sauce more extra coating), Teriyaki (yummy glaze like sauce), Cruising Altitude (like a standard medium hot sauce based sauce), and Afterburner (too hot and thick like eating pulverized red pepper flakes essentially). My favorites being Teriyaki and Cruising Altitude with the latter being what I usually order when I eat there. I advise you to splurge the extra $1 myself for extra sauce because despite their assurances I find that the amount of sauce they use is not sufficient to get nice sloppy well covered wings. Also while I'm complaining about Wings Over's sauce policy I hate the complicated Buffalo Style sauce's names. I almost always have to look at a paper menu* to keep them straight as to strength. I once got fries as well as part of a meal deal. I ordered sweet potato fries online but got a call saying that they don't offer them anymore, so keep that in mind when ordering. Instead I had them replaced with Waffle Fries for the same price. When asked if I wanted them flavored I was confused but decided on Cajun. Big mistake to get them flavored. Instead of being dusted with the flavoring they were downright coated with way too much. It was like a Barbeque potato chip that's how coated it was. Off putting. Probably would have enjoyed the waffle fries plain though. *Speaking of the paper menus, the wallpapering of the entire town with them is superfluous and wasteful.
