I basically put away a family-sized portion on an empty stomach. The service was excellent. The waitress gave me solid recommendations for my first time, and she even suggested the Gulab Jamun cheesecake. It was fantastic -- super moist and festive. This place seems to do mostly takeout, but I highly recommend sitting down if you're wandering by. Started with the Desi Poutine which was soooooo good. I mean it was literally tikka sauce with fries like of course it's gonna be good. They give you so much of the tikka sauce too it was great. Although I wouldve hoped for more of the paneer topping throughout. The Saag Paneer was fine. A lot more chili forward than I expected but it was still good and flavorful. Rice was fine too. I was disappointed with the naan though. It was small and a bit tough, and honestly looked like the frozen naan you get in grocery stores. I know the chef says everything is made fresh in house but this naan did not taste that way. I usually pass on lassi because it only ever is offered in mango and I don't really care for mango lassi, but they had a strawberry lassi here which I was thrilled to see! Great Indian Street eats! We ordered multiple dishes to share. This place is known for their tiki masala sauce which is delicious on anything! They have fries with tikki masala or use the sauce as a dipping sauce on anything! .i really enjoyed both of the samosa and chaat dishes with lots of toppings and sauces. Delish! read more

I stopped by this cute restaurant before catching a flight from JFK. It looks tiny from the outside, but there's lots of seating on the floor below. The interior was decorated very nicely for the Christmas season. I dined in and got their chai, which had a unique ingredient: fennel. We have been wanting to try this place for awhile. We finally made it! We went inside but the Indian music was a bit too loud and it was warm so we chose the outside/ street dining area. Utensils and napkins are on the table. There was literally 1 napkin and two forks. We had to ask for knives and more napkins. Tony ordered a glass of wine which had to get returned and for a second, we thought there was going to be an issue. It didn't even look like wine. He said it was warm and tasted like it was left out. When we asked our waitress about it she said he can change it for something else but he would still get charged. Long story short, it got resolved and they decided to take it off the bill but I can't believe we had to go through explaining it all. Now to the food. The samosas were ok. I've definitely had better. My Aloo Gosht was perfect. It has just the right kick and the flavor was amazing. It was also a great portion. Tony ordered the vegetable biryani not pictured. It didn't say it was spicy but it was a bit too spicy for him. After having to go through what we did for the return/ exchange of the wine, he didn't want to bother w/ his entree being too spicy. I ended up getting the Cheesy Keema Kathi Roll by MuslimFoodies per the staff's recommendation, which had spicy halal chicken, Amul cheese, pickled onions and mint cilantro chutney. The roll was wrapped in a flaky flatbread called paratha and it was delicious! The chicken was seasoned well and it came with a mint cilantro chutney and a tamarind chutney. The chutney complimented the savory roll perfectly and the roll was surprisingly filling. The staff suggested one roll for a snack and two for a full meal but IMO, one was plenty, especially if you make it a combo. On June 23rd, I went with my wife and 3 year old, she had a mason jar with liquid in it and her name on it and a doily. This is a nice restaurant located in the alphabet city. You enter and see a bunch of Indian nasto (junk food). They have a few tables indoor and a large seating area outside, too. What dragged me in was a sign showing masala fries. I have never tried that, so I had to stop in. I ended up getting the chicken Tikka paneer roll. The chicken was grilled to perfection and came with a green chutney that was just like mom makes it. It was a decent portion size and filling. Back to the masala fries. The first plates of food came out within 15 minutes, but the kathi took 5-10 mins longer than the biryani. I had the tikka paneer biryani in mild, it was spicy but had no other spice to me and the rice was a little dry.
