Apple Maps - can't be trusted!

They are not open for business. Their website, Apple Maps, and Google Maps hours listings are apparently all wrong. Most recently, I arrived at 11:00am on a Sunday to order a Dosa and was told by the two guys behind the counter they don't open till 11:30. I waited in the building till 11:30 and returned and was told "5 more minutes" till they'd be ready to take orders. Similarly, two weeks ago, I arrived at 7:15pm on a Thursday after seeing their listed hours that showed them as open until 8pm. I was told they close at 7pm. You have a VERY local wannabe-customer who has stopped by TWICE to try your food, and invested 30 minutes waiting for you to open. I will never come back. I ordered dosas from Madras Dosa Co. instead. I will never know if Madras is better or worse than Ammi, but at least they have reliable hours! You only lost ~$30 in revenue today and that past Thursday, but you will never get a cent of my money after this. Fix your website! Fix your Maps listings!

Delicious dosa! It comes out fresh, hot and crispy. I got the Mysore masala dosa and a chai. I loved both. The sambar and chutneys it came with were great as well. It's in pier 57 which has tons of seating both inside or out. I'd love to try their momos next time as well, but I felt the dosas really hit my craving

Had a quick snack break here to get some Masala Chai and Dosa, and food was inline expectations given the place and set-up. Flavorful food and surprisingly food that doesn't taste good when it's left over! Yeps, I wouldn't recommend leaving that dosa behind. The masala chai did hit the spot - extra hot, and low on sugar. Pretty refreshing.

Surprisingly good. The dosa was crispy without being too dry or oily, and the potato curry inside was full of flavor. The sambar was pretty heavy in tomato flavor. Everything was also quite spicy, which I really appreciated. Totally worth the $15.

Came here based off a recommendation and was really happy with the result. Dosas are freshly made to order and there's a couple of options to choose from. I went with a masala dosa which was okay since the actual potato wasn't crushed up as I hoped but it was still pretty good. The chili cheese dosa we ordered was actually very good and super flavorful. The sambhar was also delicious, I wish they gave more. They were liberal with the chutney portions which I found to be a little salty but still good. When I'm really craving good, quick dosa I'll definitely be coming here!

Ammi is located inside Market 57. My commute from Queens to Chelsea was about 1.5 hours. It was a 10-minute walk from the 14 St / 8 Av subway station. The weather was in the high 70s today. My good friend Nicole and I decided to try Ammi. The ambiance was perfect for our lunch date. I informed the cashier about my food allergies. Masala Dosa (Vegetarian $12 / Chicken $14) Nicole: Chicken Dosa with Coconut Chutney and Tomato Chutney Me: Chicken Dosa with Tomato Chutney - The dosa stuffed with chicken was flavorful. The tomato chutney added a spicy kick to my palate. Drink ($7) Tamarind Slushie - refreshingly tangy Bookmark this spot to try!

Their dosas (crepes) are exquisite! Incredible flavor! Served with two amazing sauces and a mini soup. Stunning! When I eat here, it changes my spirit! It's huge, but you will leave nothing behind, it is soooo yummy. Great value too. This is the pepper chicken dosa. Spicy!

Amminyc is the celebration of flavors, from tangy to sweet, spicy to savory. Homestyle Indian food in the heart of NYC from the guys who brought GupShup. Ammi, which means "mother" in Hindi or Urdu. Located at Pier 57 market. Just like mom's cooking crafted with love Menu here is a brief list of home cooked favorites. Try their chicken or masala dosa, which is made to order and perfectly crispy. The dosas come with two chutneys: one spicy tomato, mint coconut. The dosa is big and filling. It's served with a bowl of tangy , well balanced spicy sambar, and you should get a mango lassi on the side. We tried Mango lassi Aloo Samosa Chicken curry with paratha Chicken dosa Pav bhaji Gulab Jamun I loved there Crispy Indian Dosa with chicken pan cakes, Fermented rice & lentils batter filled chicken. Served with Sambar (Lentil soup) coconut chutney and spicy onion tomato chutney.. Super creamy refreshing mango lassi , traditional offerings such as my favourite aloo (potato)samosa , Pav bhaji was delicious and so well balanced .. and mouth watering hot Gulab jamun. Everything is super scrumptious and inviting from a popular range of Indian titbits and light snacking dishes. Ammi NYC at Pier57 market is a must to go spot in market 57. Thank you Ganesh he was super attentive and courteous .. Every dosa rolled and every samosa served is a testament to India's rich culinary tapestry. Ammi NYC has best dosas that NYC has to offer.

I remember when I first tried a dosa at another restaurant I was hooked, so when I saw them on the menu at Ammi, I decided that I would give it a try. Overall it's a bit small for the price and was just not as satisfying as the ones I've had elsewhere. I also ordered a mango lassi without realizing that it was bottled until after I paid. I won't be returning.

Food (4/5): Got the dosa stuffed with chicken. It was decent and looked great but was lacking flavor. Service (4/5): No issues with service and food came out fast. Ambiance (5/5): Inside the nice market with plenty of water views and seating. Really like the options and facilities.

Food was tasty. Had the Chicken Biryani, the large dosa, and Curry Chicken. Both were spicy and flavorful. It was self service but food came out quick. The place is inside Pier 57 building so it gets noisy and seating is limited.

Ammi is the Indian food kiosk at Market 57. I had not eaten there and yesterday when I took Laura to have lunch there I decided to have a dosa. Ubiquitous in India and from the South of the country, the beloved dosa is liked by one and all. There are many varieties of dosa but here a regular one with the potato filling was given. I was asked if I wanted to have the batter cooked in ghee and naturally my reply was in the affirmative. Within a few minutes I was carrying my lunch to a table facing the water. Dosas always come with sambar which is a lentil stew given in tiny ramekins and with coconut chutney. Here another spicy red chutney was also on the plate but I didn't like it. The dosa was crisp and light and made a fine lunch. Laura didn't have a dosa. Market 57 in a weekday is pleasant as there isn't a large crowd and seating is easier to find. We had a wonderful time.

Ammi is located inside the new Market 57 food hall at Pier 57. I stopped by for lunch and had a chicken dosa, which came with a few different sauces. The dosa was super solid and the sauces were delicious. Big portion, too!

Imagine if you will, service so incompetent, so devoid of anything close to positive customer…read moreservice that you wind up leaving a restaurant angry about the experience. That sums up my visit to Pariwaar Delights this week. Pariwaar certainly puts on a good face. Sandwich boards outside promise delicious food. The interior is beautifully decorated with modern lighting, furniture and unusual cutlery. At first things seemed okay. My partner and I were seated quickly because...well, we were only one of two whole parties in the place (but it was Sunday evening so read into that what you will). We had seen a sign outside for a Mutton Biriyani, but on the menu they only listed goat. So here's where the initial confusion began. Depending on where you are, Mutton and Goat are not necessarily the same thing. Mutton can refer to sheep while Goat is well...goat. In some restaurants however, the two can be used interchangeably. So when we started to order, we mentioned the mutton and the waiter (who barely spoke above a whisper and had a deer in the headlights look the entire time) kept saying "goat". We went back and forth three times. He could have easily just said "Here goat *is* mutton" but he never did. After that back and forth, we ordered several dishes including the Indian Masala Wings as an appetizer and the Goat Mandi. This is important to my tale. Within 10-15 minutes some of our food came out including garlic naan, sesame naan and chaan masala. All of this was good, but as we ate we began to wonder where our other dishes were. So we ate and then we waited. We waited a half hour. During that time, the waiter never checked on us. Indeed, at times both the waiter and the host/cashier just disappeared into the kitchen for five to ten minutes at a time. When I finally got their attention, I asked them where our Goat Mandi and Masala wings were. For some bizarre reason, they thought we asked for the Goat Mandi to go (we never said the words "to go" when we ordered) and they claim we never ordered the wings (I asked for the wings three times). I told them we'd take the dish to go along with our leftovers. At that point I just wanted to get out of there. I'm not even going to go into detail on the food. Overall, the food was good but definitely overpriced. These were Manhattan prices in Hoboken. It's not worth having to deal with horrible service and okay food.

We came here shortly after their opening after waiting in great anticipation for about a year. I'm giving one extra star just for the benefit of the doubt because they just opened, or maybe I ordered the wrong things. The menu is not very vegetarian-friendly. Samosa chaat was lacking in yogurt and tamarind sauce. Very heavy on the chickpeas. Paneer makhani biryani was just lots of dry rice, dry paneer, lacking flavor. We barely touched it. There were items on the menu we asked for that they didn't have. Their prices are a bit high for basically fast-food quality. There is a 4% cash discount btw. The owner seemed very nice and earnest. I think they should include some more universally enjoyed Indian staples on the menu just to get more people in the door, and then people will venture into the mandi and biryani. Best of luck.
