My husband submitted a request online asking for the price of a used Breakout (they don't list prices). He got a text back from "Marcin" asking him to come down. We drove 30 minutes on a Saturday. We were greeted by Ray, a sales associate. (Marcin was no where to be found) My husband explained EXACTLY what bike he was wanting. After a tour of the property, Ray finally took us to look at the Breakout my husband had his eye on. Ray showed us the bike along with several other options, which was great because it gave us choices. We explained; almost 14 times (by my count) the main thing we HAD to have was a seat on the back comfortable enough for me to ride with him when we go on trips. During the 2 hours we spent there, Ray never ONCE asked me to get on the back of the bike (which other Harley stores did!). He asked my husband to get on, but never me! He would always turn to me and ask how my husband looked on it. SERIOUSLY?! That's NOT what we're buying a bike for! It wasn't until at one point, I made a HUGE deal of how important it was for me to sit on the back and be comfortable that he suggested a removeable seat on the back with storage and even showed us a different bike we could do that with. He pushed for my husband to take a test ride on 2 bikes he had been looking at. He finally broke down and agreed to the test ride. We went outside, I sat on a bench immediately outside the front door where every sales associate walked past me. In the 30 minutes it took my husband to take the test ride, not a SINGLE person stopped to talk to me, ask if I needed help or show me any bikes, accessories or get to know what I wanted! I sat there, in the heat, sweating for 30 minutes waiting for him to test ride 2 bikes. Once they came back, Ray immediately started in on getting an application started. We asked, for the 15th time (i counted) HOW MUCH IS THE BIKE?! and for the 15th time, we got the same answer; "it's around 15 to mid 20's. I also, by the way, heard EVERY sales person say the EXACT same thing to every other customer while we were there. HOw is it that after the test ride, 2 hours of being there, 15 times asking the question, seeing how excited we were, you STILL couldn't just be up front about the price?! Ray pushed and pushed for us to fill out an application. He even had another sales associate standing there to help us. He was more interested in his girlfriend who showed up to see him, than he was in helping me while i sat in the heat, let alone both of us. The sales manager; Marcus, finally came out and told us they weren't trying to push us to buy. Ray couldn't stop telling us how they're ranked the #3 in the country and they didn't NEED our business but we'd be smart to buy from them. We told him we'd need to come back the next day and think about it overnight but we aren't goig to make any decisions right now. we wanted to come back and test ride another bike that I liked and then make some financial decisions about things. After driving home, the thing we didn't like is that they never told us the price after we asked 15 times! It didn't sit well. On Monday, my husband sent a text, again, asking for the price of the bike. Their response? They asked us WHAT BIKE?! How do you not know what bike we test drove?! We explained that if they couldn't give us the price, we didn't need to buy from them. Their response? If we didn't want to buy from the top ranked Harley dealership in the country, then we should go buy somewhere else! SERIOUSLY?!!!! Unreal! After it's all said and done; I sit back and reflect on the process. There were several things that made this purchase super smooth. First off my salesman Marcus W. was a professional motorcycle enthusiast (don't believe me go see for yourself). I gave him my info and he pointed me in the direction that made me happy. Then he introduced me to some key people around the shop, like Carlos in parts (for all those goodies that I will need later), and Gregg in service (gots to keep my machine up to par). I'm seeking to replace a Harley that I am in process of selling. I drove a long distance to see some new models and their used inventory. The dealership is very nice, pristine in appearance, however none of the bikes are priced. I'm familiar with new bike list prices so that wasn't much of an inconvenience. I saw a used bike, a newer version of my old one but couldn't get a price. The salesperson said "low to mid teens". I went to their website, no price listed, so I called and got the same answer "low to mid teens" from the sales manager. I didn't find the answers and lack of transparent pricing helpful. I remember when Chosa's was the Mesa dealership and the service was 1,000 times better. After leaving Desert Wind HD I went to Ride Now in Chandler. The service at Ride Now Chandler for my Ducati was excellent! If you are looking for a Harley I can say from first hand experience that Buddy Stubbs, Chandler HD and Scottsdale HD are the places to go to be treated right! Desert Wind is a place to avoid. Perhaps in the future Desert Wind will recalibrate their customer service model to deliver a better experience and maybe close a sale. When I took the three day beginner course, at Desert Wind Harley Davidson, in Mesa, they brought me from sitting stationary on a Harley, up to being able to confidently perform defensive maneuvers like quick stops, swerves, and weaving. After passing the class and final riding test, I was given my AZ motorcycle endorsement and now have my motorcycle "L" (M-class) on my driver's liscence! I would recommend any other Harley-Davidson dealership but Desert Wind one month ago I was looking for a Tri Glide and they had one I was interested in they called me and asked me when could I come out and see it it was on a Friday I told him as soon as I get off work I live way on the west side on the valley it took me almost an hour to get there and when I got there they wanted to show me around which I told him I don't have time I wanted to see the Tri Glide they walk me all over the place and could not find the Tri Glide then they said it must have been sold already and they were trying to sell me a new one that is such a scam just to get me out there I wouldn't never ever consider visiting that place again ,they remind me of shady car salesman. read more

Been to a lot of Harley Dealerships across America and this one takes the crown. Nate D met me at the door as soon as I walked in and was incredibly professional and courteous. Told him I just wanted to look around and he respected that. A lot of places are always trying to rope you in and make a sale but Nate seemed like he was genuinely happy just to talk to me. I was very disappointed today. I went in over the weekend to get a used 17 Road Glide and we were negotiating. They came back with a payment yesterday and I said I'd be in today. They responded with 'OK'. Now I'd negotiated a pretty good deal, IMHO. When I got there to pick it up and sign the papers, they said "Oh, sorry. We sold it. Service department is filled with with people that have bad attutudes and no customer service skills. The service manager also shows no consideration or courtesy to his customers. I happened to be in there the other day on 09/04/2019 afternoon when i over heard a conversation between the service manager and a customer, Service manager was so disrespectful and inconsiderate to the kid in there for service they declined him service because of a review they said he left regarding the poor service he was getting, and they honestly i am thinking to myself you really are wondering why a bad review was left to begin with. Look how these so called professionals are acting. The kid had a concern on a new bike he bought and the service manager turned him away and had the kid ride out on a bike with a safety problem that was under a warranty from what i could tell. I heard the whole thing from the customer lounge. Just hearing that and how the kid was having to explain himself and plead with the manager to help him after being treated so badly by his employees just rubbed me the wrong way and made me leave and not want to spend any money here. This kid was saying he spent thousands there and was treated this bad. Regardless of whatever the problem was to turn him away when he was there with a safety concern on a new motorcycle without offering him any help was unbelievable something i have never seen before especially from a service manager. I will never deal with these guys in my life the complete lack of management, and understanding was outrageous. These workers are the last thing the Harley Davidson Company needs with it being in the trouble its in. I am glad i was here to witness this otherwise i would of never known, i just wish i would of spoke up. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. You will be glad you did. I stopped by to request information on a service for my 2015 CVO St. glide the man that helped me and service was very arrogant and put out For having to put me in the system to look up my records. Proceeded to give him my information and he put me in the system and he found information on my bike he gave me a price on the service and I was looking to get a new race tuner as well and then he asked me are you going to proceed I said we will see and he said fine I'll just delete you from the system and re-enter you when you make up your mind so I went over to the parts counter to price out race tuners and the guy there was more interested in eating his Cheez-Its then helping me and again he was very put out that he had to look up a parts price for me I said to myself that's enough.... I rode down to superstition not only were they courteous their price for a 25K service was $400 less than what was quoted at Desert wind I will never go to Desert wind again as they are not interested in earning anybody's business very sad the guys at superstition were awesome friendly and courteous walked me over to the parts counter introduced me to the parts operator and made me An appointment to service my CVO street glide I am new to Arizona and I am glad I found a good Harley shop to take my bike. I guess Desert wind is doing enough business that they don't need to earn my $1500 that I'm willing to spend for A service in new race tuner. Should have gone to Superstition first. read more

So I went in this past weekend to kill some time and was with my daughter. Typically I buy a shirt or poker chip or challenge coin from the dealerships that I visit and have no intention of buying a bike anytime soon. I was trying to make my way to the MotorClothes department and was pretty much cornered by some sales guys. After building some rapport I sat on a couple bikes and they wanted to discuss terms, credit, a down payment and numbers. I don't even have my endorsement or permit so buying a bike is kind of off the radar at the moment and my five year old daughter was with me so not today. No was not a good answer for them. They were so pushy that they even encouraged me to trade in my Bumblebee Camaro in for a bike they just needed my VIN! I couldn't believe it. Can you even do that? Four wheels to two? When this place was Chester's I went in and it was a whole different experience. Needless to say I'm not a rude person but I just had to leave. I've been to a lot of Harley dealerships across the country and this one left me soured. I never made it to Motorclothes and well, I won't be back. I went down to the dealership to ask some questions about why I was having back pain when riding. I was greeted by Ray, who immediately explained the bike I currently have doesn't fit me correctly. He had me sit on 4 or 5 different bikes explaining the difference. I bought my current bike off of craigslist. Never again. Going down to the dealership and talking to Ray to get "fitted" correctly was the best thing I have done. Ended up walking out of there with a bike that fits me perfectly.
