I was staying at Hilton around the corner and didn't want to pay ridiculous prices at the resort spa. I googled local nail salons and came across Deserrt Nail. I had French shellac manicure and pedicure done and I love the results. I did get an upgraded pedicure with scrub and extra massage and it was nice. I worked with Kimberly. They all were very friendly and sweet and very much enjoyed the experience. I am usually very picky with manicure, but if I lived in Phoenix, I would definitely come back on the regular basis. read more

I got a pedicure here recently and will never go back again. It only lasted a few days and it was painful. After one day the polish started to discolor and within 3 days it started peeling off in huge flakes. I went in to tell them how unhappy I was and they said they cannot make any guarantees and would not redo my nails for free. I will not go back there again. This is one of the best nail salons. I've been coming here for over 6 years. In the meantime the owners changed but the quality did not. They offer a range of services, different types of pedicures ranging from $32 to $52 but those are worth every penny. I like to make an appointment but they take walkings as well. Two ppl in the whole salon (I think one was a friend/employee getting a pedi). After almost 2 mins they barely look at me and say can you come back later. I asked for a coffin shaped full set and what I got was severely lopsided nails. Not even close to being coffin shaped. I paid $50 for my nails to look like a kid just went to town on them. I'm aggravated because this place had such good reviews but I was passed around to two people and the lady who finished my nails rushed the job and ended up costing me another $50 because I had to go get them redone some place else. read more

my sister got a manicure and pedicure from here and ended up with 3 infected toes and 1 infected finger. she went to urgent care this morning and had to be put on antibiotics because the infection was severe. she could have lost her fingers and toes because this salon is filthy. do not come here. was also offered drugs by the man at the front desk. read more

Holly is the best, always pleasant with a smile. She makes my hands and feet look great. The one thing I wish was that they would offer a Dead Sea mani/pedi with Seacret products. I have referred my friends here and they also are pleased with the service. I like the fact they also use fresh tools from a sterilised package not just from the liquid container. read more

Me and my two daughters have come here for years. NEVER AGAIN. As my very pregnant daughter pulled up, got her 3 year old out of car seat and made it in they asked how they could help. She was happy they only had 3 customers. She wanted mani/pedi and color for her daughter. They promptly said "we won't have time today for that". Not can you come back or you might have a wait. Just a straight out we won't have time today. First off that was rude and second she could see staff not with customers. So you just lost 3 customers, 4 if you count her daughter who always get polished. Even she at 3 yrs remarked "that wasn't very nice". So bye bye desert spa. Too many other places to go who will welcome our business. What a shame. By the way it was the thunderbird location and 1:15 in the afternoon. In case you're wondering the 3 year old is very well behaved and is used to going to get nails done, she sits still. read more

Desert Nail Spa is fantastic. I honestly don't know how these ladies (and gent) remember all of their customers by name and preference's. Lilly and Kim create flawless nails every single visit. The salon is always clean, tools are new, and the pedicure chairs are delightful. They are all so kind and that is why I along with my mom will continue to go to them for all nail needs. This location is very rude! I'd give them 0 stars. I was a long time customer and used to see Danny. I was last there in December, a few day's before Christmas for a regular manicure. I normally got gel, but because I was short on cash, I opted for a regular manicure. Danny literally shamed me to another customer about that, and other things. I was embarrassed and my feelings were hurt. I left him a25% tip anyway. He never said, "thank you", or "goodbye"! I've never gone back. They lost a valuable customer of over one year. I have never had a salon experience as bad as the one I had here today. I came in with my sister and a friend for us to all get pedicures and gel manicures. We knew we wanted the new chrome look on our nails so I specifically asked if they could do it when I made the reservation. The pedicures were okay but I feel like they were definitely rushed. I wanted acrylics because I had never had them before. When doing the chrome manicure, they all had absolutely no clue what they were doing. The first time around my nails looked sloppy and they had dimples in them. My nails looked absolutely nothing like the picture THEY said it would look like. She then had to redo my nails, taking more time out of my day, and I can easily say that I am still not pleased with the crooked edges and dimples in the paint. My sisters blue "chrome" manicure literally looked like baby blue paint with silver paint directly over it. She told me that it looked NOTHING like what the lady had showed in the sample. When I asked them to redo it they tried telling me that "she wanted that look" and "they were supposed to be silver" ummmmm no definitely not. Finally I got them to redo it and my sister had to settle for a plain color. Of course, after admitting they had never done chrome before, they didn't apologize or give us a discount for the absolutely horrible job they did. I ended up paying $85 and I have NEVER been more displeased, I will never go back here ever again. I used to go all the time but the guy I had wasn't there today. I have no clue what happened to the place but only go here if u want a mediocre mani/pedi for a high price. read more

***BEWARE, THIS SALON DOES NOT PRACTICE SANITATION REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF ARIZONA***This salon is lucky I have to give them any stars. Came in for a pedicure, I will NEVER go back, nor would I recommend this salon to anyone. I am a licensed hair dresser in the state of Arizona and I can tell you that they DO NOT PRACTICE SANITATION like they are supposed to, they do not sanitize the foot baths as required per the State of Arizona regulations. The gal that worked on me dropped all the instruments on the floor, picked them up and proceeded to work on me, again against State of Arizona regulations. She didnt ask me how I liked my nails shaped, not to mention she used a coarse nail file on top of my natural nail, which causes them to be thinner. I usually have gel polish applied and I asked her to put 2 coats of polish and one coat of glitter on top and I got one coat of polish and one coat of glitter, now I used to do nails for a living as well and I know that one coat of color is uneven, that is why two coats of color should ALWAYS be applied before glitter. I paid $47 dollars for a pedicure my 15 year old daughter could have done a better job of giving me. read more
