A friend and I had business in Temecula very early in the morning when not much is open. I hadn't been to Denny's in about 14 years, but not much else was open so my friend convinced me to give it a shot. I am so glad I did! From the moment our server sat us he put smiles on our faces. He was personable, friendly, humorous, accommodating and attentive. We spent almost two hours there and he kept the refills coming and never failed to check up on us with a smile. I ordered a bunch of the limited time Hobbit themed food and everything was quite good. The sausage was tender, the pumpkin pancakes were delicious and the fruit was fresh. The lemon poppy-seed french toast and the red velvet pancake puppies were also awesome. I will definitely be back, or at the very least I'll give a Denny's closer to home a try! read more

Worst experience possible. Asked how many were in our party and the waitress walks off throwing menus on a table and walks away. Noone offerd a highchair for my daughter or drinks until the joke of a manager walks up to take our order without writing anything down. I don't think this Denny's knows what the heck it is doing. I ordered the Grand Slamwich and they made their own dish wrong. I didn't ask for it modified but I got something they wasn't anywhere close to what I have had at other Denny's. Worst Denny's I've ever been to !! My boyfriend and I came in just for desert as we walked in the first thing I notice was that the did not have the AC running it was musty and smelling like BO !!! I should of walkout but I really wanted my banana spit so I gave them a chance ! After waiting 15 min for our waitress to take our order she comes back with water with no ice and to top it off it took her 20 min to bring us our ice cream and she forgot to make the ice coffee so we had to wait again !! By far the worst service from any restaurant ever. The hostess pointed to a nearby table and told us to go sit there. Then she came after wards wither the menus. Our waitress took forever to get to us. After ordering drinks, a very long time went by till the busboy brought them. By the time she came back for our order, I had been out of coffee for awhile. She said she'd be right back with more coffee. Again after some time had gone by, the busboy brought my coffee. Yes they were busy, but there were plenty of staff running around. Some were so busy visiting with each other to take time to handle customers. I recently discovered this treatment seems consistent across two local Denny's restaurant. My recommendation is go to IHOP. UPDATE: Gave them one more chance last night for dinner. Four of us were seated very quickly, but again asked to choose which of four tables we wanted. Drink orders taken, long wait till arrival. Waitress finally came to take our order, which we had decided on for quite some time. As time went by, witnessed three tables get up an leave, the third actually said they have to go and that they had been waiting for their food for an hour. With so many departures, our food came up not too long later. Guess you have to have a vacant restaurant to get quick service. After this episode I have developed a severe eye problem...I cannot see myself returning to any Denny's till I hear they have revamped their staff training. read more

I just had breakfast at this Dennys. The service was quick. Food was so, so. My eggs were supposed to be well medium done but very fluid as if not we'll cooked. The pancakes were not well done either, but ok to eat. My pancake plate was greesy all around, as if it had not been washed. Disgusting! Encountered a flie hovering over my food. Not good at all. Their french toast was tasteful & well done. Got two cups of coffee. Overall I have to say that I wish I could give it less than one star. the food was not good I had a chicken fried steak that was over cooked with a gravy that had zero flavor. Ended up leaving after those 20minutes and as I left an older gentleman came up seemed to be the store manager. I informed him of our 20 minute. I've been to this Denny's twice. The first time I went was because the Denny's closer to my home was only serving desserts and salad. Mind you, it was 1 in the morning. The closest Denny's was this one and it was definitely worth the drive because it beats eating at IHOP. I had the T-bone steak and shrimp plate with steamed broccoli with my cousin. It was so good. The steak was cooked exactly how we wanted it. The breading around the chicken was a little salty but it was still pretty good. I love the people that work here at this late hour. They are so friendly and always check up on you to make sure you are doing alright. They also refill my water before I even realize my glass was empty to begin with. We got here and it was packed and we were still seated in less than five mins. With how busy it was i thought it might take a bit for us to have our order taken but we were seated, received an appetizer and had our meal in front of us in the span of 15 minutes. Today I went in for dinner. No one acknowledge my present so I had a seat. The place was not busy. The lady that cleans up the table was nice enough to bring me coffee. Waited for 15 min with out being at knowledge. Manager and 2 servers and no one introduced them self. Management looking at the screen with 2 orders and did not acknowledge me. Until I decided to leave everyone acknowledge me. I looked from the outside in and sad to know that they all started to figure out what happen. Funny that when you are their no one cares. This Denny's is terrible. Dirty and the parking is small. I've been here twice and botht times have really been bad experiences. This review is based off of my experience a few moments ago. My husband called in an order for dessert to go. I wanted a brownie with ice cream. The person on the phone said ok. He gets there it isn't ready. To top it off they offered him an apple crisp in place of the brownie they didn't have. Why not say that over the phone and what is the purpose of call ahead ordering if 1. The order isn't ready to pick up 2. You should let people know you do not have the item they ordered. An apple crisp is nothing even close to a brownie. I do not recommend this dump. read more

Horrible service on this Monday evening. She didn't come back to check on us once food had been served, something of ours was cooked wrong. I wasn't even asking for her to do something, just merely informing her and she snapped at me and was extremely rude. During this exchange we had our dirty dishes on the table and a good waitress would have taken them and brought us our check. We walked in and it was very busy for a Saturday evening. Even though there was limited seating they were understanding when we asked to sit with some new friends even though we didn't even arrive with then and that they didn't seem to see us when we walked in for a long time! It took some time to get our order taken. The waitress on our side was pretty old and slow and looked like she was really struggling; she was definitely not up for the job and the customers suffered for it. The manager finally came around and took our order saying something about forgetting this side of the restaurant. After the manager took our order we didn't receive any service, no one came around to ask how we were doing or give us refills etc. We waited a pretty long time for our food and when it finally showed up it was cold and had to be sent back and be re-made. The waitress that brought the food said she happened to notice it sitting there (forgotten) and brought it out. The older waitress working our side pretty much ignored us and just served one table the whole time. Aside from being annoyed, I did feel bad for her. The manager finally came by and asked about getting us refills and explained how she was short staffed because she wasn't given enough people and the register broke and something was always breaking etc., etc. She didn't seem genuinely sorry, she just complained and gave us reasons why we had such crappy service and a lousy experience. When we checked out she didn't offer any kind of compensation for our trouble. Denny's has definitely gone downhill and it just keeps getting worse. read more

This Denny's in Rancho California Rd., in Temecula CA has the nicest staff. Cheerful attitudes, always prompt to respond, personable individuals, from the manager to the servers, and all in between. The problem is with the overall impression, or should I say taste of the food they serve. If one was to believe their television ads, the way the food looks on the tube, then no problems would be found. Regretfully, Denny's seems to be a franchise hanging by a thread. Prices are definitely a la par with finer establishments, even though they have their 2, 4, 6, 8 special menu. Their regular menu never fails to disappoint. Take for instance their well established breakfast menu. On the picture most of the choices look very enticing. Like the Lumberjack choice, almost at $11 dollars. Two eggs, two toasted slices of bacon (probably waiting under a heat lamp longer than it should be), a slice of grilled ham that in the picture looks just right, arrives looking significantly smaller, and dry like new shoe leather. Of course it will be eaten. Hey!, it is a major player in the ensemble, and can not be discounted. Two links of sausage of doubtful lineage, meaning wherever they are made, quality is not an important consideration. There are so many food factories that makes this kind of food devoid of quality. Still, it gets consumed. Then two slices of bread, and two pancakes formulated for the franchise. Their coffee as of late was tasting more like chicory. Yes, there must be some items that are better, but none that merits return trips. According to the rumors, Denny's gets a lot of their action with the late night crowd, where things pick up in more ways than one, and tends to loose its family atmosphere for a more possible seedier option. Yet, it is a place to eat, but sadly not a good one. How difficult is to prepare good food? That is the question haunting this place. 2 Stars. read more
