Went to this Dennys with my wife on the way home last night and was super hungry. There was only one waitress for the whole resturant so service was very slow and i think the buss boy was pulling double duty helping in the kitchen my wife loves dennys pot roast but when she got it here the meat was super salty, the potatoes were boxed and the vegetables were freezer burned and gross. I got the new burben bacon burger and it was thrown together very sloppy and i had to eat the whole burger with a fork my wife wanted desert but the waitress never came back the only way we were able to leave was by standing at the register for 5 minutes we could have dined and dashed no problem because no one was paying attention i really don't blame the waitress because she was the only one there and a big group came in read more

My wife and I have been there a few times for burgers and they were pretty good. We recently went there and I ordered the Philly cheese steak and fries and my wife ordered fish and chips. Both our orders of fries were very cold and tasted awful. My sandwich was open faced and smothered with cheese , Onions, and peppers. The problem was "where's the beef"? There were four small pieces of steak on one side of the open sandwich and none on the other side. No refills were offered on our drinks. Next time we will try I Hop. read more

Denny's Diner has fast become a favorite! Over the last 2 weeks, I have eaten breakfast there about 7 times and 1 dinner with a senior who has treated me as payback for opening my home to her. Generally speaking, I order something off the Value menu ($2-8); it is has been correctly cooked, hot and tasty! I recommend one of the sizzling skillet meals,too! The French Toast slam is great! My favorite server has been Page--regardless of challenges she has faced, she has been the one on the move and the most friendly! The only negative has been the occasional hiccup with staffing during the most busy times, resulting in heavier burden on one. As a former server in a very busy restaurant, I can appreciate all the nuances! I recommend this small diner for a quick and inexpensive meal!! I have pretty moderate expectations of Denny's. Come on its Denny's. How ever this past experience was terrible. I don't care the waitress messed up my order, she fixed it, or we had to wait forever for a check that was supposedly coming, we just walked up to the counter. It was fine. But the complete disrespect and serious attitude from either the manager/owner/random person in charge was without a doubt the worst. We had a difference of opinion. Again I work retail policies are policies, but the f****ing attitude and disrespect coming off this lady was ridiculous. I still tipped the waitress (they only make a tipping wage). But I'm never coming back to this Denny's again. Sorry you lost a repeat customer of many many years. Just stopped in to Denny's Santee for a late night meal it was 12:45 am. After walking inside the waitress said, "hey you can just pick up a menu and seat anywhere." Noticed that waitress had odor of (cigarettes). After sitting for 5 minutes we still didn't decide on what to order, but what we saw next really helped us to decide. We observed her eating while cleaning utensils next the bar area. Decided to go somewhere else to eat. We have eaten here on several occasions for breakfast, lunch, and diner. But tonight's experience was the worst since we have come here regularly. I don't suggest you eat here in the late evening to early morning. It is better to come for the breakfast or lunch, when the manager is around. Doesn't seem like they care about the customers at this time of night. read more

I went there last night i had John serve my family and i and it was easily the best service I've had from any restaurant period he was fast.friendly.and had a great additude even though he was working late. Worst service in a loooong time. My server took my order then disappeared. I asked 2 different employees for a coffee refill, including the person that brought my meal. Service was awful, very slow. The workers were friendly but not quick to take our order or deliver us our waters which usually come out right away. I visit here every once and a while and every time I go there the service is the same. The food is always cold and even the milkshakes or smoothies come out late. I rarely eat at Denny's, but I came because I had a coupon for a free grand slam in your birthday. I first have to thank Denny's for offering this. I do a lot of birthday freebies and I appreciate companies that offer valuable coupons(no additional purchase necessary, etc.) I was seated right away and asked my beverage order. I just got water, which was never refilled, so that was a bummer. I got the build your own slam and ordered grits, pancakes, bacon and hash browns-well done. Props to the cook for actually cooking my hash browns well done. They were tasty and just how I like them-brown! The bacon and pancakes were fine. The grits, however..... They came and had a "skin" on them. I stirred them up with the butter on top and took a bite-lukewarm at best. I sent them back and they brought me a fresh bowl but this time, no butter! I asked for more butter but the grits needed copious amounts of salt. They were kinda watery yet crunchy. My family is from the South, so I know me some grits. Oh well, they were free. Overall, the experience was fine. All the employees I encountered were friendly and helpful, the restaurant itself was clean and busy and parking was no problem. read more

Wel first of all I contemplated on writing a review for this location. I live down the street so this location is convenient. Sometimes I have to tell myself that convenience is not always better. My husband and my children and I went to this location Saturday to have dinner. It was very slow and empty. We were seated and looking over the menu and not even 2 mins into it were asked for drinks and if we were ready to order. Ok fine. The waiter (a young man) is eager to serve. Great. We ordered drinks but were not ready to order food just quite yet. So when he comes back we order the food and wait. My husband and I ordered salads to get before our meals and they never came. The waiter admitted he forgot about them. We didn't get charged so no biggie. When the food came was when the problem started. My sons order was completely wrong. He's autistic so he only eats certain foods. We ordered him a Jr. Slam but customized it. Eggs, bacon and sausage. We got one sausage one bacon and watery pancakes. It got fixed but because the butter melted on the plate he wouldn't touch any of the food. We expected that. My daughter didn't get her whole order. My food was completely cold and the fries they gave me were old stale fries and the sandwich was soggy. I sent the order back and got half stale fries and some fresh ones. Whatever. We are and got a refill on our strawberry lemonade and got strawberry water. They fixed it and gave it to us to go. The waiter was polite but really off because the whole experience sucked. They ended up giving us 50% off the order but it honestly should have been free. We will just go to the location in lakeside from now on. This is how our visits are EVERY TIME. read more

The girl(long light red hair) was more concerned about hopping around the place ,flipping her hair. We waited over 10 minutes for her to come to the table. But this one I got the waitress from hell who hated her job rolled her eyes when she took each persons order and the wait was 30 minutes for the food to come. Hopefully she is gone so I can go back. Do not come to this shitty ass fucking Denny's. The workers who work at 9am say "Have a good night!" as you leave. If that isn't a premature sign to terrible service and delirious behavior, then I don't know what is. I ordered take out at 9:45am, and waited patiently in the front lobby. 30 minutes pass so I decide to get up and stand at the front. Sure enough, the workers were so incompetent after probably several hours of working through the night that they cooked the food and then left it there. After glaring at a few servers (because at this point I was pissed the fuck off), they realized I was the one who ordered take out. Because they couldn't see that I was sitting in the lobby with a PAID RECEIPT in my hands the ENTIRE time. Even better, the shift manager took my order. The MANAGER. What a fucking joke.
