Well here goes the latest......I guess I was a gluten for punishment! This time....I go to the restroom after my meal which was much less than adequate, only to find not 1....but 2 cockroaches in the restroom. Mind you....I used to come here with regularity for the past 6 years, but have noticed a marked decrease of quality in the food as well as the very poor service. Time before this.....I had to get the coffee myself after waiting for 5 minutes....FOR COFFEE!! This is ridiculous! Ugh! After being seated- it took them 10-15 minutes to come by our table to greet us, offer us water, take our order, or anything to let us know that we did have an assigned waitress. We both were starving and were so looking forward to our favorite Denny's meal so the wait even seemed longer. Unfortunately, lots of the staff looked to be too complacent and not too eager to check on customers. Customer service could use some retraining. Service was ok once our orders were taken. Food was delivered too us correctly as ordered, promptly, and was delicious. I said ok because all was going well but than didn't get checked on to refill our drinks after getting our meals. We live in Santee on a home in Santee on a business in Santee, to go into an establishment where the waitstaff an older woman should retire the manager and general manager should be fired where is Donald Trump when you need him! This was a "filler" of time stop. I was going to Walmart for an oil change. Got there early, decided to have a quick bite to eat. Paige was my greeter and server. If I could leave 0 stars I would; the women server sat us down to a booth with used utensils placed on top of napkins and the table top wasn't cleaned off. Then our waiter took our drink and dinner order with out writing it down so he brought out our meals one at a time then forgetting what we ordered. Mine took 10 mins for him to bring out and it was a house salad. Then he brought us a 1/2 order of cold fries, when I asked the waitress to take back all they did was place 6-7 hot fries on top. When the manager came over to ask about our service she apologized and said we wouldn't be charged for the fries and would help us out on our bill and she didn't. In comparison to all the Denny's I've been to, this has to be my favorite. The service is really good and the food has come out tasting fresh. My favorite thing to eat is the "Four Pack & Rings", which is 4 mini BBQ bacon cheese onion ring slider burger w/ onion rings. read more

The last two times I've gone into Dennys after 10pm, my favorite waitress, LORI, was not there. I was very disappointed because I've been going there for years and look forward to having LORI be my server.. It is not the same without her. Okay, so I just want to get something straight. I've been going to this Denny's most of my life at all different hours of the day/night, I grew up here. I've never experienced any bad service or bad tasting food. Tonight was fine until I ordered eggs. I get them over easy but I noticed they were a bit runnier tonight as well as not very warm. I thought not much of it considering I had already eaten them. So long story short all morning I have been in the bathroom sick out of my mind. The only reason why I'm bringing it to attention is because the morning prior my dad had gotten sick eating the eggs as well. First, I thought maybe the bacon was bad, both my father and I had gotten bacon, he didn't get sick. Next maybe it was my pancakes ‍ but they were more over cooked than undercooked plus my dad has tried some. But the only thing he didn't eat were the eggs (because he didn't want to get sick again) so yeah, don't eat the eggs. read more

Look, if you are looking for the best food in the world, you are not going to a Denny's. But if you want a good meal, good coffee, decent service, polite and courteous staff any time of day or night, this a great place to go. Added bonus, they have great WiFi, and power outlets at the counter so if you need to get some work done, it beats Starbucks hands down. Not every Denny's has WiFi or outlets, so this makes me come back over and over to the Santee Denny's (that and the coffee!) read more

Denny's is what it is....cheap diner food and this location is pretty good. There can be a wait on the weekends but it usually isn't too bad. The servers are pretty competent - there are a few we act like it is an inconvenience to be serving you but overall they are pretty nice. You can't beat the price for a decent size breakfast. My favorite is the French Slam, but make sure you ask for your French Toast "well done" or it can be soggy. read more

I came to this Denny's because it was the closest to my apartment. I arrived at 9:00 pm and it was busy, most of the tables were full. It took around 15 minutes for my table of 2 to be acknowledged. We placed our orders right away. However it took 30 minutes for our appetizer to even be brought out. While everyone around us, including people who showed up after us, were getting their main dishes. Finally we got our main dishes, and they were delicious. But it shouldn't not have taken almost an hour to receive. We were not checked on at all, our drinks were not refilled for 15 minutes(we had to ask a different waitress to help us). It took another 10 minutes for her to bring the take home boxes that we had to get up and stand in the line to ask for. Overall this wasn't a pleasant experience. I understand they were busy, but there was just too many slip ups to excuse. read more

My husband and I swore we would never go back after our last visit, our last visit was December 2014. We were driving by and didn't see the horrible waitress from last time so we decided to give it another try and I'm glad we did. When we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff who told us to sit where we liked. Right away I noticed they had remodeled and it actually looked clean throughout the restaurant . Our server John was awesome, he was so nice and very attentive. He didn't take too long to take our order, made sure we had everything we needed and refilled our drinks. John made our visit so pleasant that I know we will be back. Hopefully Denny's got rid of that horrible manager/waitress. If you go to Denny's have John take care of you! I give 5 stars to John and a 3 for the food only because the bacon tasted like precooked bacon. read more

Came here for breakfast. It took about 10 minutes to be seated in an empty house, another 10 minutes to order, and 25 minutes waiting for our food. Only 2 people working the floor. They are both running around like they are having a mad rush, when there's only about 6 people here. I won't be coming back here anytime soon. Worst customer service ever. read more

It takes a lot to gross me out, but this Denny's location certainly accomplished it; and without even getting my business. I went in late tonight for a breakfast slam. Up late working on a project and needed a quick break and some food. Upon entering I stand there for close to 5 minutes and some girl finally comes out. She is eating oatmeal out of a big cooking plastic bowl - something that you would put food in for prepping in the back. She is wiping her nose with her palm as she's asking me what I want to order. Then some guy comes out from the back holding his cell phone up to his ear like a boom box. I was so embarrassed for them that I just decided to leave and not even eat tonight. Been coming here for 4 years and always have great service. Tonight I noticed people having to wait a bit longer to be seated and getting frustrated with the two ladies running around taking care of customers. There should be more servers to help out at dinner time. Although these ladies are working hard and doing the best they can, they can only do so much. We've been eating at this Denny's since the day it opened. One of the best Denny's around...occasionally inconsistent, but what place isn't if you've been going there for over 10 yrs? My only complaint,currently the eggs have been a little overdone. Oh,well good service,clean,good portions & reasonable prices keep us coming back! Give this location a try! I don't always go to Denny's, but when I do I want all my servers to be exactly like Donovan. Went last night with a friend for a last minute cheap dinner. We were seated promptly, didn't have to wait long at all for coffee, water or our food order. Donovan is the reason for the 4 stars, as most Denny's are really only about 2-3. At least I know what I'm getting there. But Donovan was attentive, sharp, polite, timely and just very sweet/nice. We made sure the manager knew how much we liked the service and to keep Donovan at all costs. A nice change in excellent service for once at a Denny's. I hope it stays this way! read more
