Decided to try a new breakfast spot today. I'll start off with the inside is nice and welcoming. Our server was nice and friendly. We ordered our food and got it pretty fast which was nice. My wife got the french toast and it was underwhelming. Definitely not sweet like french toast should be, definitely needed the syrup to even be provided with some sort of flavor. The Baja was good but lacked seasoning. The biscuit was the best part of the meal. The server came to ask us how everything was and my wife was honest and said she was not liking the french toast to which the server said oh okay and walked off. Came here for breakfast on a Friday, the restaurant wasn't busy at all, one waitress for the whole restaurant. I ordered the crusted French toast and added blueberry sauce, sausage, and poached eggs. The French toast was awesome, sweet and still a little tangy from the blueberry. The eggs and sausage were basic. They serve diner coffee, nothing to write home about. Our only complaint was the food wasn't as hot as we would've liked. It tasted like it may have been sitting on the counter for a bit before coming back to us. Haven't been here before, so this was my first time here. We were seated immediately. It wasn't very busy, but it smelled good. We got coffee and I got a large tomato juice, which I doctored with some habanero sauce, which was pretty spicy and but I enjoyed it. Coffee was decent served in a nice heavy mug. I ordered The Meat Lovers Omelet, with hashbrowns cooked on both sides, and biscuits and gravy. I ate every bit of my breakfast, which I don't usually do, and I have to say this is the best omelet I've had since I got to California a little over a year ago. The hashbrowns were great, and cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. Karen got the sausages, they had no taste, so skip those if you want something to taste. Overall, the breakfast was good, the service wasn't really bad but we had to ask for more coffee and some extras, which they brought eventually. They do not serve alcohol here but there is a liquor store next door that they will allow you to pick up from and drink at your table. The cinnamon French toast is outstanding, even if you don't like French toast this was definitely a must try! The hash browns were excellent and cooked perfect! The gravy was flavorful and creamy. They only serve breafast items and close at 2:30pm. I ordered chicken enchiladas, which were small compared to the 18.95 price tag. The salsa verde was very good but i could not see or taste the cheese or crema if there was any. It comes w rice and beans and two eggs. The rice had no flavor at all so I added some Tobasco. My friend loved his biscuits and gravy. Our two meals and sodas came to $46 before tip. I personally think $23 for mediocre breakfast food is heart breaking. My first time at this place after visiting the flea market nearby. Took a chance on the corned beef hash breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Real meat, not from a can, very good taste. The menu is reasonably priced and are a great match to the portion sizes, the food is flavorful and everything came out hot and fresh!! It wasn't toasted at all--just a sad, dry, cold piece of bread tossed onto the plate like an afterthought. Calling it "toast" is false advertising. The whole meal was a letdown from start to finish. Bland, cheap-tasting, and clearly made with zero care or quality. This wasn't just a bad breakfast--it was borderline insulting. I am a person who tries to avoid writing negative reviews because I feel that even great establishments can have bad days. I worked in a restaurant in college and I know how hard it can be. I try to find the good in every experience. (See my 5-star review of the DMV for an example.) Today I had such a bad experience that it inspired my only 1-star review of a restaurant. The Breakfast House lists its hours at 7am - 2pm. My friend and I arrived at 12:35 and ordered brunch. The server rushed to bring us a check while we were eating - which I paid right away so our server would get the 20%+ tip in case they were letting waitstaff go home towards the end of the shift. At 1pm, they started asking us aggressively if we needed to go boxes. Not once, not twice - FOUR TIMES. At 1:15, the server asked us if we were done and we said we were sipping coffee and finishing up. At 1:25, they *shut the lights off on us* and another waiter (not our waiter) told us that the manager told them to close and go home because it was not busy. He told us we were the last table and we needed to leave. He was NOT apologetic and rude as hell. This is a sit down restaurant. It is reasonable to expect that people will be there for ~an hour as they browse the menu, wait for their food, eat their food, and chat. We were seated at a regular lunch time (12:35) and we were thrown out more than 30 minutes before the restaurant was scheduled to close. It's one thing if you get hurried out the door if you sit down 10 minutes before closing time. This was not that. This was a man who made the dining experience miserable because he wanted to close more than 30 minutes early. If you have another option, don't go here. This wasn't an honest mistake over a food order. This person chose to be unnecessarily rude and pushy. This is a problem with how they treat their customers. Our bill *before tip* for two breakfast plates and one to go sandwich was $72. That is a lot of money to spend to get treated so poorly. I try to support local restaurants like this over the big chains, but next time we'll head to Denny's for better value and better service. read more

No manager was present in the restaurant, no one knew how to handle the situation or what to do. A can of roach spray was seen at the checkout counter and the woman said "they come in and spray all the time" so they know there's a problem. They said owner was there but left to Home Depot. Smh.
