Bacon cheese burger & fries
Norma D.

Made a pit stop at this little hole in the wall diner! What a pleasant surprise. I had the deluxe bacon pepper jack burger with fries. . So good It was around 11:30am and it started getting super busy. By the time we finished it was a full house. They have counter seating also available so don't be afraid to stop by. Parking is out in front of the diner, so super convenient. All the people who work there are very friendly. You need to stop by if you're in the area

My kids declared it was the best breakfast of their lives. This is a small, lovely, local joint. The posted hours are 8am-2pm. There's a jolly gentleman on the grill and friendly ladies waiting on the tables. It's the kind of food you'd make at home--except better because it all comes out hot and on time! I'd imagine most of the diners are locals. They also have an extensive drink menu--screwdrivers, screwberry, and "east county Paloma." All in all we had a lovely breakfast and would recommend this place if you want to be transported back in time and get a small town feel. If you want vegan and such this might not be your spot. :)

When you pull up.. it's literally a "where tf am I?!" moment. It's right off of Olde Hwy 8. We got there at opening so we were one of the only people there. It's a super small cute establishment with 3 booths and a row of seating at the counter. The decor is super cute and old school. You really feel like you're at home. Our waitress was amazing and it was her birthday today! We ordered a pancake combo and biscuits and gravy. She told the cook and he immediately got to work. We watched him scramble the eggs, so you know they weren't fake. We made our entire breakfast fresh and had it on our table super quickly. The eggs were perfect. They were thin but not overcooked. The bacon was super crispy and salty. It jolted my whole body awake. I definitely got my sodium intake and won't have to worry about electrolytes after my workout. The pancakes were the star of my breakfast. They didn't taste like the super sweet, overused pancake mix at most diners. These babies were so good. They were slightly underdone but not like super soft. They sent me immediately to when we'd make pancakes in a rush in the morning. They were absolutely delicious. The biscuits and gravy... goodness. Let's discuss the sausage. However they make the sausage.. true winner. It's flavorful. It's straight up country sausage gravy. The country potatoes were sliced extra thin and were super yummy. This small little establishment sure knows how to knock all the bigger ones out of the park! We can wait to come back.

Marietta's Café is wonderful. The food is consistently good. From the white selection of breakfast is to the hamburgers. It's all good. They're too good regular waitresses in there. They are very sweet. The ambience is just like a regular American café. That is very fun, upbeat and comfortable to be in. .

Food: Well, okay... we came here once and my daughter got chicken and waffles. It was SO good…read morethat she begged us to come back. The rest of our food was okay, nothing amazing, but solid. So we got back a second time and sit down to order, "Chicken and waffles please" - they are out of chicken. Oof! Strike 1. That sucks. She was disappointed but she got something else and we shrugged it off. Then about 2 weeks back we came in again... this time I asked first, "Do you have chicken for the chicken and waffles?" They are out of waffles. Oof! Strike 2! And isn't it just batter? I don't get it. We didn't stay that time because my daughter was visibly sad this time. So I think we are done trying or else this just becomes a running gag we try to get out of, like Groundhogs Day or something... Atmosphere: It's cozy inside. I love all of the details, like the wood carvings and all of the bear stuff. It's like you're in a log cabin. And I like that they have paper menus and throw them away (because plastic reusable menus are germ magnets). The newspaper-esque theme is pretty cool too. Price: It's no more expensive than say, Dennys or Ihop. Middle of the road and they have lots of options. A decent meal for two - 50$. Service: Each time we have been, the servers have been great. Nice servers and even when the guy had to tell us they were out of chicken, he was super apologetic. No complaints on the service. Overall: It's a nice place... when they have the advertised food. So I honestly don't know if we will be back or not. Maybe we will give it a shot but I don't want my daughter to be disappointed again. I get it, if it was something they only made 50 of a day, I'd understand. But... chicken and waffles? Hmmm...

There were several quirky cute diners in the area so it was tough to choose. Ultimately, Izzy's menu excited me more than the others. I love the barbecue brunch thing going on, too. Very unique and we totally would've tried some ribs had we not gone to Phil's for the first time the night before and had a ton of leftovers. We split a Country Benny and the Jalapeño scramble, which had their homemade pulled pork in it. Julie was an outstanding server. Super patient, attentive, and helpful. You can choose muffins or coffee cake (only $1 extra!) instead of toast, which I love by the way, but I really appreciated that she asked if I had tried the coffee cake because it's not what I thought it was. She explained it as more of a vanilla cupcake with nuts and white icing? Which is kinda random that they call it coffee cake, but it made us opt for the zucchini muffin which was definitely the right choice. Moist, warm, and delicious to nibble on while we waited for the rest of our meal. She also asked if we needed anything else, like salsa, when our entrees came. Which, I usually alwayyys have to request but she was 2 steps ahead of us. The Bloody Mary was tasty and just strong enough to start our afternoon. I'm a huge sucka for biscuits & gravy and theirs really hit the spot. The sausage patty was so good and definitely homemade. Perfectly poached eggs harmoniously smothered in yummy gravy and fluffy biscuits. Crispy hashbrowns, great country potatoes. The scramble was good, too. Pulled pork had a nice smoky flavor and I've never seen nor had it with eggs before which is awesome. The portions were just right. Not huge, but we got full and everything tasted great so what more can you ask for? The deep fried pie! Duh. Super bummed we didn't take a peach one home...

We had a table of 6 and our waitress was awesome. She remembered all our requests and happily split all our tickets. We didn't feel rushed and were able to sit & visit without feeling pressured to leave after we ate. They have a menu board that shows the daily specials. I'll be back.

The place feels lively in a calm and familiar way that teenagers would appreciate a lot because it has that friendly neighborhood energy that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. I noticed right away that there were a lot of teenagers eating there, talking with each other, and enjoying their time without feeling watched or rushed. Seeing that made me realize how naturally this cafe fits into the kind of environment teenagers love, somewhere they can relax, laugh, and feel like they belong. The food at Bonnys Cafe surprised me in the best way. It tasted exactly like the kind of comforting breakfast you hope for when you walk into a classic cafe, and it made the whole experience feel even more inviting. Even though the dishes are simple, they have that homemade flavor that teenagers would enjoy because it feels real and not overly fancy. The atmosphere inside is bright and open, and the staff treat everyone with the same kindness, which makes it easy for teenagers to feel comfortable being themselves there. As I walked around and looked at the different tables, I did not realize how much there was to appreciate about the place until I took a moment to really take it in. It is the kind of cafe where you can sit for a while without feeling like you need to hurry up and leave. I really appreciated how easy it was to enjoy my time there without any pressure. I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would because everything about the cafe, from the food to the atmosphere, felt genuine and welcoming. I only visited Bonnys Cafe one time in my life before making this review, but it left a strong impression on me. It was one of the most comfortable and inviting cafes I have been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a place to eat good food, hang out with friends, and feel relaxed. I lived for 24 years. I am not physically or mentally 24 years old. In the summertime in the year 2024, I learned that I am still physically and mentally 18 years old. I also learned in the summer that year that my prefrontal cortex is way more developed than average 25 year olds prefrontal cortex in the human brain.
