This place is worthy of a visit. The service and food are pretty good here. During the weekend it gets crowded here in the mornings. The breakfast is the only time I've been here and we enjoyed the comfort food. This is not going to win any Michelin awards but it satisfies. The staff was friendly here and the food came out within 15-minutes but this was at 6:30 AM during the week so it was not crowded. There is plenty of parking in this lot and there are outdoor tables to catch some rays from the sun. They do honor AARP membership so flash that card to get your discount. Enjoy. read more

Very sad that Dennys would let go long time employees. My husband and I have been going to breakfast on weekends for years. Occasionally for weeknight dinner. Tania was our favorite server and one of the longest employees at this location. We looked forward to our breakfast and Tania. I think we will find a new weekend breakfast place where the owner's care about their employees and not just the bottom dollar. Customer service matters. Caring companies matter. Very disappointed. It was always a great experience, every time I was here. I rarely come because it was a bit of a drive, but if I am in the area and hungry, I will definitely visit. They have outstanding services and the food was never disappointing you. This morning was one of them. I noticed on the dessert menu that they no longer had banana split ice cream, so I asked my server, what she told was nothing but surprise, she said she understood that it's not on the menu but she could make one for me. She brought it out to me and other guests even gave her compliments for taking her time to make a masterpiece, some guests even joked with me that they wanted to me to share the ice cream with me. There were small flying bugs where we were seated. We came for my Granddaughters graduation from SDSU. She had picked Denny's because of the açai bowl, which was not available. We were a party of 14. Placed online curbside pickup order for my disabled father to pick up. Nearly 20 minutes past the time of their site saying, "Order Ready", they still hadn't come out with order or answered phone. Father eventually walked in to find the employee, and she claimed she "Had been too busy to answer the phone or walk the order out". There weren't more than 3 customers in the place. She then lied to him and said the food had only just finished. Food had obviously been sitting around ready for 10+ minutes. Every single day I go to the Denny's in Santee There are a lot of regular customers there that also come in regularly. The food is so delicious! Denny's has the best ranch dressing! The atmosphere is always cozy and relaxing. They also have an outdoor dining area with string lights which is really nice. This is definitely the best Denny's. Every staff member and the managers are such warm loving friendly people. Everyone who works there is beautiful and has a great personality. The kitchen, however, needs to step up their game. On our value bd slam, the biscuits were tough, and the sausage gravy had zero flavor. We won't order that again. They were not really hot when I got them, but it was a busy Saturday morning, so maybe she didn't get a chance to get to it, even though that's all I ordered. I did sit outside, but I don't think they want you to do that because they have to go outside to take your order and bring your food, so it messes their flow. The whole reason I went to this location was because the outdoor seating, otherwise, I could've gone to one of the multiple locations near me. This place is a dump. The people that run it can't even speak English. They serve you old food went there for breakfast. Ask him for my eggs to be scrambled lightly. They burnt them. I asked them for sausage. They were cold. We have pancakes that were stiff as a board. What happened to this Denny? I used to know a manager there she was great. She took care of her customers I don't know how many managers they've been through lately but this last one last week told me if I didn't like the food not to come back no wonder I see Denny's is going out of business. These guys were great!! You know what to expect from Denny's food wise so I'm going to focus on value add. We lost our internet and cell service at home. They let me plug in my laptop and sit in a corner to take a class. (Obviously if it got too busy I would have left.). This location is very clean (may even be a point of pride)! We sat at what we thought was a clean table as all the other tables still had stuff on them. But I actually liked it that way. They had a subtle sweetness to it and you didn't need any syrup on it. Tried it with butter and it was so good! My wife and I were sat in a sticky booth, ordered from a sticky menu, and while just waiting for our food and drinks to come out, we noticed something odd. Our server was very nice and attentive, but when he gave me my Mango Lemonade I noticed something gray floating under the ice. My wife fished it out with a spoon and our hopes of it maybe being a strawberry leaf were crushed when a large and slimy clump of mold came out on the spoon. Food was good and our waitress was nice, however I went around 10-11 am today and the man who checked me and my friends out at the register was very rude to me. I got confused with the tipping on the pin pad so I told him I didn't tip on there and asked can I tip on the receipt because he gave me a receipt where it gave you a spot to put a tip. He said, "No, you already closed it out." And I said "Oh okay, I didn't get to too though." And he said rudely "It's the first thing that you see on the screen." She let us know that we could sit anywhere. It took her some time to get to us, but that was understandable. When she finally came over to take our order she was apologetical and sweet. Great food and prime location. Unfortunately, the service is mid. In fact, there's basically no service. I have been there about three times. You get a smile and that's nice. Then there is a lady there who looks very experienced, she's very nice. So my review would be two stars but because she's there and also because if they only tried a little harder they'd have a better review they'd get more stars. So, I give them three stars to be fair. I repeat, I love the location. Right next to the mall, Costco, nice little spot to unwind. I did enjoy not being bothered. So I tried to see positive in it, I didn't feel I had to rush through my meal. But when it's slow and no one's coming to you, especially to make sure your order is correct or to see if you want more coffee (one of the servers luckily brought me some but no one else did), that's kind of silly. Got a little awkward. Obviously as a customer you do your part and be polite but I felt something was missing from the service end. Next time I head to 10 Town Center Pkwy, I'll probably just go around it. Maybe pick out another Denny's, can't yet decide which one, but one on the way, then head to Santee. read more

Was in Santee - for a soccer tournament- the land of the maskless - LOL!!! No matter what establishment you went to, including this One, there are signs that say you must be wearing a mask to enter. Yet almost at every establishment major part of employees were maskless just like almost all customers. Just take the signs down already We opted for Denny's just because it was down the street. We were sat right away. Wife had ham breakfast. Daughter had grand slam. I had the chorizo English muffins. Overall good was good. 2 stars for place looking kinda dirty.
