From the value menu: hamburger and breakfast slam.

Great service, value menu was great, food was good and as expected. Clean restaurant.

2 AM visit is always the best! No issues, and they always take care of the military with a solid military discount. It's been a minute since I've been back to Denny's, but when you need a late-night spot after the club, this place never disappoints. I've been coming to this location since 1995, and the service has consistently been great every time. I love the variety on the menu and the quality of the food. Was kind of hoping for some classic after-party drama on Saturday morning but nope, just good food and smooth vibes.

Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage and pancakes with coffee

Had an opportunity to meet with friends, today. It was so nice having breakfast and coffee with them. A hearty meal that included scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage and pancakes. It was a delicious way to start the day.. Our waitress, Jaisa did a wonderful job keeping our drinks topped off and kindly helped us with any additional requests we had. She provided us with outstanding service. Although the restaurant was busy, the noise level was low enough to have a conversation without having to strain to hear each other or raise our voices. The casual atmosphere made it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy time with friends.

A basic scrambled eggs and cheese with bacon and sausages with pancakes and coffee. Yum! Having friends along made it special!

Breakfast with friends along always makes a meal most enjoyable. Food was as ordered. Service: Attentive. Ambiance: Not crowded so peaceful! 4 Stars!

My breakfast Grand Slam Pack

My breakfast was awesome. Eggs cooked nice and soft, bacon had a nice slight crisp and my sausages were good. My pancakes were golden brown. MMMMMM. Service was quick, I didn't have time to play on my phone and my food was coming out to the table.

Burnt toast.

It's Dennys so I wasn't expecting a 5 star meal. As it turns out, it was below expectations. Service was decent. Seated in a timely manner, order taken in a timely matter etc. When the food came out, problems started. I ordered a simple ham and egss meal off the 55+ menu. I ordered eggs over medium. They came out yolks smashed well done rubbery things. Waited for the toast and after a few, I asked about it. Ther server came back with the "toast". Burnt black on one side and the other side was warm. I didn't bother asking for replacements since I didn't have too much time. Oh, and ham was cooked so much, felt like I was eating ham jerky. Super dry. At least the coffee was decent.

Pay here. The service was very amicable and the store was clean.

Different Denny's (1 of 2) Transiting between San Diego and the L.A. area, I needed sustenance, especially after leaving San Diego way past the time I had intended to leave. Some Denny's were closed or closing at this hours, but this one in Oceanside was open. It was dusk, but I suspect I was somewhere near that all too noticeable taller condo or apartment building near the shore. It sure would have been nice to see it during the day. During my formative years, I often wondered what was in this lone beachy tower. I went inside and was warmly greeted, not to mention warmly taken care of during ordering and having the food brought out. I was looking for a snack more than a full fledged meal, so I settled on a cheeseburger, fries, and coffee as fuel for the remaining 75 to 100 miles. It appeared to be some type of special. The food has that boilerplate Denny's taste. I wasn't complaining. I couldn't complain. It was just what they said it was and the price was fair. There is both some straightforwardness in getting here and some circuitous moves in getting here. If coming south on I-5, the ramp for this Denny's is easy to identify. Now, if coming north, a cluster of adjacent off-ramps with similar numbers are presented to you. Take the one that will cloverleaf you to Harbor Drive so you don't end up driving up to one of Camp Pendleton's entrances. I've gotten decent service at various Denny's in SoCal, be they in the SFV, out in the desert, and now here. This Denny's is close to the military base and I could go with the moniker "A Denny's for jarines." That's a combination of the words jarhead and marine, and is older than the hills. I'm sure they eat here from time to time. Everyone knows this moniker and rolls with it. The experience was better than I expected. It was enough to push a strong 3 - a usual benchmark for Denny's - to an entry level 4 stars. I'd eat here again. It would be preferable during the day when you can see some of the local surroundings through the big windows all around.

I've tried a good portion of the menu, and some of my favorites are the Bam Bam Burger, Jughead Burger, carne asada bowl, and the monster chili dog. The fries are always so good, and the cold mac salad is a must The portions are generous and I almost always have leftovers, which I love. Even my non-vegan husband enjoys coming here, and we've recommended it to friends who have also really liked it Service has always been great, food usually comes out quickly, and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful The space itself has such an eclectic, laid-back vibe with tons of art and character, it's just a fun place to be Sometimes the sauce levels can be a little on the heavier side depending on the day, but the flavors are always really good The hibiscus lemonade is really refreshing, I'd just personally enjoy it even more with ice It's clear everything here comes from a lot of creativity and passion, and I really appreciate the care that goes into a menu that's entirely his own!

The owner took our order and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative. He described all of the dishes and you can tell he genuinely loves his resturant and what he's doing there. At one point he mentioned that he's proud of the portions because he thinks a lot of vegan resturants tend to skimp a little. He was absolutely right to be proud. I had the French Dip and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. The stek was sliced thin and really tasty, the cheze in the sandwich was perfectly gooey (which is rare for plant based cheze), and the aujus was the real star. I've honestly had nothing like it before. It was also a really hearty portion and super filling. My wife had the Jambi sandwich -- a hash brown wafflle with fried chikun, sunflower swiss, seitan bakon between two pieces of french toast -- plus chili fries on the side. The sandwich itself was impressively big and definitely lived up to the owner's point about portions. We've both been vegan for about 10 years and always appreciate finding places doing creative food like this. We live about an hour and a half away, but we're already figuring out when we can make the trek back for another visit.

Their eggplants are in season. Freshly harvested from the garden, I tried the panko crusted charcoal roasted eggplant - it was beautiful, delicious, creative and everything wonderful packed into a dish. It was topped with a very unique, naturally salty plant called the asparagus of the sea (I've literally never had it anywhere else besides here). I also tried the c word (which is wine braised cabbage), the beet ruben sandwich, and the mushroom toast. Everything was SO GOOD! The service is also on another level. I felt genuine kindness and happiness exuding from the staff. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right. I was a bit sad to see that it wasn't bustling on a Sunday brunch. I was soooo excited about the Philly connection, as I'm very familiar with cheesesteaks having lived near Philly in a past life. Well, I was sorely disappointed. We were told that the bread is flown in daily from Philly. Well, I don't know where it's coming from because it's definitely not the same bread as what they normally use there. The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.

My fiancée & I had seen Parlor Doughnuts numerous times after the Oceanside Sunset Market. & every single 1 of those times, we were already too full from grazing at all the food stands by then to give it a try. So on a Saturday afternoon, when we just happened to be nearby, we popped in for some impulse buy doughnuts. With a staggering variety of delicious looking toppings/ flavors, the possibilities looked enticingly intriguing. Staff behind the counter was friendly attentive, & helpful. Although there are some savory options available, which seemed to me like pizza toppings on doughnuts, we stuck with sweet: maple bacon & bourbon caramel. Tried & true flavor combinations, both. But the dough, whoa. For starters, the 2 doughnuts we got didn't have holes. That actually makes a difference in how the doughnut cooks. Secondly, the dough ate more like bread dough than a doughnut. Doughnuts have a hole for a reason. You see, it's physics, son. When you consider how thermodynamics affects an oblate spheroid vs. a toroidal sphere, it becomes evident that a doughnut without a hole will not cook evenly throughout inside. In fact, this was specifically proven on MasterChef Canada Season 8, Episode 8 during a doughnut pressure test. In that episode, Andres forgot to put holes in his doughnuts & they were undercooked in the center. Hey, I did start this review with admitting I'm a nerd who watches too many cooking competition shows. Uniform doneness aside, there was also the breadiness. If I'd been told these doughnuts were some kind of new take on Pan Dulce, maybe I would've liked them more. But given the expectation of a doughnut, what I tried at Parlor Doughnuts just wasn't it. The staff was great, & the toppings were fine. But with the word "dough" literally in the name of the product, to come up short there leaves something to be desired.
