It's a hole in the wall burger joint, get over it, read the very legible wall menu, make your selection, place your order to the friendly people working there or owner, order a drink and then grab it out if the mini fridge, Walk around the side of kitchen get some napkins in the dispenser, find a seat, watch the ball game and wait for the magic to happen. Best damn chargrilled burgers bar none! did you hear me mention chargrilled like open flame burger or chicken. This was the best burger we have had in over a decade, we are so tired of flavorless smash burgers or flat griddle burgers that never have flavors to only be flavored by what they put on top. NOT these burgers, I didn't even have their knockout sauce as I wanted to taste the charbroiled beef, plain and simple and it was excellent, price is excellent and this place will be on our weekly rotation in the village! read more

Had to come back to KB after a decade long hiatus after moving back home. Still as good as I remember. There was one woman working, holding down both front and back of house. She's so sweet and can cook a mean burger and the fries just as I like them. (A little crispy but not too much) The combo #1 is perfect for an easy, not too big and under $10 lunch. Worst customer service ever! Did a DoorDash order for personal pickup and when I walked in they yelled they were closed. Apparently they had been closed all day for some grill issue. My order was confirmed mind you. I tried explaining to just figure out what we needed to do and Taylor yelled at me , "take it up with whoever you work for I didn't get paid". After some back and forth where he yelled, "what the f*$k do you want me to do, my grill is broken" some other employees ran from the back and told Taylor to shut up and apologized. The other employee asked to see my order and we confirmed his effort to shut off DoorDash didn't go through and he worked to cancel my order on his tablet and I went on my way. I completely understand things happen and we weren't that inconvenienced, but it was just the clearly drunk or high and pissed off Taylor that is prompting this review. We have come to Carlsbad for years and finally gave Knockout Burger a try, but they missed their one chance. Just horrendous customer service. read more

We visited Knockout Burger last night, and the service was excellent. The staff member who took our order was friendly, welcoming, and explained the ordering process well.The space has a cool vibe, but cleanliness could use some improvement. The drink options were also a bit unexpected--only canned drinks from a cooler and no fountain options. Offering fountain drinks or cups for canned beverages could be a nice upgrade. The drinks can be accessed by anyone and you never know if somebody's touched the cans before you get an opportunity to drink from it. We waited about 45 minutes to an hour for our food despite only one group of 3 ahead of us, so better communication around wait times would help. The fries were SUPER soggy and oily, and while the burgers were okay, they weren't especially memorable. My burger was made wrong. I usually don't leave reviews like this, but I say it because I enjoy Knockout Pizza and want to see Knockout Burger succeed. With improvements to cleanliness, food consistency, and wait times, this place has a lot of potential. read more

Second Worst Burger I've Ever Had - Only the Fries Saved It I don't write many negative reviews, but this one earned it. This was easily the second worst burger I've had anywhere, only slightly behind one I had years ago in New Zealand. The burger itself was just bad across the board--dry, overcooked, and completely lacking flavor, like a frozen patty that had been left on the grill too long. I made it about a third of the way through before giving up and throwing the rest away. What made it worse was the setup. There was one person running the entire place--taking orders, handling cash, and cooking everything. Even with only one person ahead of me, it still took a while. They're also cash only, which is surprising for a spot in downtown Carlsbad and just adds friction to the whole experience. In hindsight, the fact that there was no line at all should have been the warning sign, especially compared to nearby places that were busy. I skipped a 30-person pizza line next door for this--lesson learned. The only redeeming part of the meal was the fries--they were actually pretty good. Overall, this feels less like a bad day and more like a fundamental execution problem. Between the food quality, slow service, and limited payment options, this isn't a place I'd return to or recommend. read more

This was really bad. I ordered a double burger with bacon and fries. Two bites in and it was so oversalted it was inedible. Before I threw it away I showed them what I'd eaten and told them I can't eat this, its honestly too salty. The cook and the cashier's response was a simple "yeah sorry bro" dismissed me and went back to themselves. The cashier was more interested in chatting with his buddy on the bench outside. im not one to leave reviews but im really disappointed in this place. im a local and this is one of the best places to get an affordable lunch that tastes good. the only thing is the people they hire are awful. ive been several times, and everytime this one woman is helping me, she is rude and unhelpful. the first time i encountered her i stood at the cashier for at least 10 minutes while she made eye contact with me several times but never greeted or acknowledged me. the next time she was there, it was 11:58 and the door was open. I walk in, she looks at me, ignores me, than said "not opened." and nothing else. I am sad because like i said this place is great but i will not go in if i see that worker there. read more
