I figured i'd try this place out to see if the reviews were true. I can say, that not many of the recent reviews were exaggerating. Just avoid this place. I placed an online order and paid in full, walked into the buisness and they told me I had to wait longer and I showed them the male cook the exact order. He still somehow messed up to F up the order and missed some items. I know I ordered some grilled onions and 2 large fries. All I got were 2 small fries and some rude waitresses/cooks. My husband and I were walking by this afternoon and took a peek into this burger joint. There was a guy standing outside and he said this was the best burgers in town. We were kind of interested so we were like " hmm, we will check it out". Little did we know that he was also the cook. He proceeded to walk in and said." Also I'm the guy making your burger". We thought it was pretty funny so we took a look at the menu and ordered two combo #5. It consists of a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink for the great price of $10. We took a seat and while we waited for our food the place started to fill up. He was amicable and efficient and quickly took everyone's orders while also being the only cook. Impressive right?! Later he brought our food and I'm not exaggerating when we say these are the best chicken sandwiches we have had in a long time. The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy and the fries were impeccably seasoned and crispy. Overall I'd give this place 10/10 for customer service and excellent food. Went by here today for an early dinner and they have such good food, as always. They are a small spot, seems family run but the prices can't be beat in town and the food isn't lacking! Business operating during the pandemic, "thanks, but no thanks" Review #2 my intention in writing plague reviews was to express my gratitude for businesses with the courage and tenacity to leverage me outta the house with food bribes. so given those givens, it's hard for me to say​ bad things about Knockout Burger, one of my favorite local places for grub. however, to paraphrase the timeless words of John Goodman's character in "The Big Lebowski," this regression​ cannot go unchecked. i don't usually whine about service. being married with five kids, i learned a long time ago i'm not that important. but recent experiences here were memorable enough to mention. it took more than twenty minutes to get an order of fries. meanwhile, people who came in and ordered after us were served. apparently, the burger we ordered and paid for went to another table. when the receipt was produced to document the mistake, rather than addressing the situation directly (an apology would have been nice), our burger went to the back of the line behind all the subsequent orders and we had to wait another twenty minutes. i probably wouldn't have posted that experience except only half the people handling food wore gloves and the guy on the grill wasn't wearing a mask. i know restaurants are hurting, and I REALLY want to support locally owned and operated business. but they need to do their part. read more

Have seen this place a few times when we've been there and finally got a chance to try it. Knockout pizza has always been good so I was hoping for a similar burger experience. Pretty simple menu, pretty simple place. We got a couple double burger combos with Cajun bacon and a chicken sandwich combo. Only 1 worker that we saw but she did a great job, a little wait as a few of us showed up at the same time, but she got everything going, order was correct, and we made our way back down to the beach. The burgers were fairly simple but full of flavor and tasted great. Good value for the price, especially considering the location being right in the heart of carlsbad village! This is a local gem of a place. First, the food is amazing, it's all made fresh to order right off the grill and piping hot. My 10 year old had a burger and French fries, I had a grilled chicken sandwich, we paid $15 for a fresh cooked meal for both of us. Where can you get that now a days? You can't especially in Carlsbad Village and right by the beach. Staff was awesome, friendly and our food came out fast. We will be going here again. This lil burger joint that's located in Carlsbad village is pretty good! (Good thing we were the first ones in there on a Friday around 4pm) there was only one person working. She was working at a good pace for just one person. The line does get a little long of a wait if there is only one person working but the food is so worth the wait. The burgers are delicious, you can get the combos listed or make it a specialty which is also listed on the menu. I got the bacon ranch combo. After many years away from Carlsbad, our first food stop was Knockout Burger. The meal was just as good as it was the last time we were there. We are super happy the establishment survived COVID. The owner happily welcomed us back. He takes great pride in preparing the food. I thought it would cost a lot more, but I found the food to be reasonable. All meals are cooked to order so you get a hot meal. It is a bit of a hole in the wall, but we find that that is one of the things we like about it. If you visit Carlsbad, Knockout Burger is a must. My review for this burger place is very limited since I only got the fries here. I was craving something salty after trying the Strawberry Shack, which I highly recommend going to. Besides only getting fries, they were perfectly crispy and they added some type of seasoning, I believe it is cajun, which tastes amazing. These fries remind me of fresh McDonald fries since they are thin and have the perfect amount of salt. I recommend trying the Knockout sauce to pair with the fries. Overall, I have high hopes for the rest of the menu and I hope I can try the burgers out soon. The fries were very delicious and unique with the seasoning. read more

I've never tried this place before but I was in the area and was craving burgers so i decided to try this place. When I tell you I've never had such an awful experience at a restaurant before, this definitely was the first. I was standing in line with my friend waiting for the server to take our order and she never did. We waited for 30+ for her to take our order and not once did she say a word to us, all she did was take multiple glances at us and completely ignored us the entire time. I didn't want to write this but please read till the end. As a first time customer knockout burger left a real impression. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted by a drunk cashier who had a hard time taking our order. We were asked questions of what we ordered and if we were To go or for here numerous times within us ordering. When talking to me vs my husband the cashier was more excited to converse with him than me and even reached over the counter to grab his shoulder. While we sat down to wait for our food we watched as door dashers came and the employees struggle to communicate what order they were about to give out. This lasted for a few minutes and as we watched all the customers exit the building and just talking to pass time, while we waiting an employee came to our table to ask what we had ordered and then asked if we were DoorDash. When the same drunk cashier finally brought out our food, she didn't know what she was giving us and hesitated. She then proceeded to touch my husbands shoulder again and lingered at our table just a little to long. During one point of the visit she made a "i love you" comment to my husband who then told me he was uncomfortable. And as we were dining we witnessed a child come from the back of the kitchen and climb on top of food prep countertops to stand and sit on it. The food itself was a classic meal and was a fair price itself however what made me write this is the fact that after we left we were charged an extra two dollars on top of the price we paid for. This charge was updated almost 24 hours after we already dined there and I've never had a restaurant update their charges. Im not sure if this is a normal thing for this restaurant but the extra charge was what drove me to be the most upset. read more

I don't know if there is anything remarkable about it - it's small, it's simple, but they make my order just how I like it and the taste, price, and service ARE GREAT every time. This place used to be decent when lived here a long time ago. Came back to visit recently and was in the mood for a good burger! Waited almost 40 mins for two burgers and fries. The staff weren't wearing masks (possibly vaccinated??). However, a man walked back into the kitchen and grabbed some fries with his hands, eating them back in the kitchen (while fries were falling out of his mouth). The cooks were also eating behind the burger line then going back to cooking without washing their hands. The guys cooking seemed to not care at all about customer service.
