I didn't make a fuss or send it back because it's a small, family-owned restaurant and they clearly have a lot of loyal regulars who love them. Overall Verdict: Breakfast Food: 5/10 Egg Rolls: 7/10 The service alone makes it worth giving them another shot. While breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I would definitely return to give their lunch menu a try.

My mom and I were both in the area as she wanted to go to the Michael's store here. When we came inside, it wasn't busy, as it was around 3:30 pm when we got here. We were greeted by the one who would be our server for this visit. He gave us menus to look at and asked us for our drink orders. I generally stick with water with lemon, which I did here. We were there during the time where it was still the lunch menu (though for us, it was more like dinner for us that day). When he came back with the drinks, he asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't just yet. He also asked if we had any questions about the menu and options and gave us more time to mull over the menu. When he came back, we weren't completely ready, but asked a question about the specials of the day. After that, we knew what we would get and placed our food order. My mom ordered the Meatloaf Lunch Special with mashed potatoes and spinach. I went with the Meatball Sub Lunch Special with mashed potatoes, though I don't normally do potatoes that often. After about ten minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food looked really good, and it was hot too. The bread for the Meatball Sub was very soft and easy to eat. The meatballs were huge and made for a worthy meal. The mashed potatoes with gravy was really good and fulfilling too. My mom loved the meatloaf, and their meatloaf doesn't have ketchup on it like some other places do. She loved the meatloaf, spinach, and mashed potatoes too. After we were done, he asked if we wanted any desserts. We both declined as I normally don't do them anymore. Overall, we both had an excellent experience here. The food and service were on point. The food I had that day did spike my blood sugars, but I expected that with bread and mashed potatoes. I don't make a habit of that though. They are a great local business. There are lots of food options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to eat while in this part of Chesapeake, this place is worth coming to.

I was very disappointed in this Dennys as it was the worst one I've ever been to. Everyone in my section had complaints about the server taking 10 minutes just to take our drink order. It took about 40 minutes for our food to come out, COLD. I ordered poached eggs, she brought out the eggs and stated that the cooks don't know how to cook them properly and if I was ok with the eggs she brought out. Of course I'm not okay with it so I had to order new eggs that ended up being scrambled. The place was dirty , my table and seats were sticky & my coffee cup has lipstick stains all over it. I came in this morning, by myself, and decided to get myself some Country Fried Steak. But see I don't really like country gravy lol so I substituted for brown gravy, no biggie whatsoever. It's one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. Everything had such a homey feel and taste. You didn't need a knife for the country fried steak at all, hash browns were super crispy(just the way I like em) toast was nice and buttery, and the eggs were fluffy and cheesy. We went to Denny's last night for the cinnamon pancake breakfast and T bone steak dinner. Our server was Cynthia J. She was exceptionally friendly and just the sweetest lady there. She made sure our orders were correct, and kept our drink glasses full of tea. We didn't have to ask for syrup, napkins or steak sauce cause she bought it to us ahead of time. He was kind and took the other potatoes off the order (I didn't eat them). I'll catch the million dollar potatoes on the next visit. I still want to try them.

I ordered a vegan bowl with vegan sausage, fresh avocado, quinoa, and a stir-fried mix of peppers and onions, and everything was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The ingredients tasted fresh, the bowl was filling without feeling too heavy, and the flavors blended together so well. It's one of those meals you keep thinking about after you leave. I also want to mention the staff because the hospitality truly added to the experience. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit feel even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a great first experience, beautiful atmosphere, flavorful food, and excellent service. This is definitely going on my list of go-to restaurants whenever I'm visiting Virginia Beach again. I really like the food at First Watch but it'll be a hard pass to return to this location. We went to Egg Bistro, where early bird specials are $3 cheaper and the service was prompt and friendly. We were finished and paying our tab by 820 am.

We've eaten here before and it was a good experience. I ordered "safe" and genuinely enjoyed the meal. We stopped in on a weekend visit, and I asked about the gluten free pancakes. The server immediately explained the pancakes were cooked on the same grill as regular, which would make it a hard pass. My husband, who owns a conference and event management company asked if they could make the pancakes in a "clean pan" on the grill. She asked the kitchen, and they agreed. So, I got to have really outstanding gf pancakes with banana slices and it was Christmas on a plate. This alone guarantees I'll be back and will recommend this to others. On the flip side, the scrambled eggs were rubbery and the apple chicken sausage tasted like a depressed half smoke that gave up on life at a young age. I skipped those and would also suggest others do the same.

The soap in the bathroom was also watered down. This location just seems to try and cut corners. For the positives the smoked salmon Benedict was a unique menu item that I enjoyed. I will say the peach French toast was delicious and a perfect addition to a seasonal menu. Raspberry white chocolate cold brew was also good another great seasonal menu item. Lots of booth seating. The industrial look is nice. The server was the sweetest ever. I think they were understaffed because she was also the bartender. Overall, would not be returning.

The wings and burgers were always our go to menu choices and that was what I was craving. I noticed new ownership immediately from the exterior and as soon as we entered. I'm talking smaller than a nugget. Server was nice enough. We were the only people here. They brought 3 more tiny chunks of chicken when I asked. I shouldn't have had to. Kids chicken tender meal was SO bad. I couldn't figure out why my daughter wouldn't eat it so I tried a piece of chicken. It was dry and completely salty. Not just a little bit salty, inedible. For 3 of us it was almost $100 Sadly wont be returning.
