Customer service was top tier, and the food was good overall. The waffles did come out cold, but everything else was enjoyable. Our waitress was extremely sweet and they offer a military discount. I would definitely give it another try.

What a wonderful surprise to see some sausage bits to compliment my crab cake eggs Benedict perfectly. Absolutely delicious. They also had a seasonal apple crunch French toast with the PERFECT crispy texture to contrast the softened caramalized apple pieces on top. Plenty of seating and natural light. All around positive experience.

My sister recommended this place because she loved the location in NC. So we gave it a whirl. The place has good vibes and the service is great. I ordered pineapple berry mocktail and the cajun shrimp&crawfish omelette. The portions are huge; you can definitely share with everyone at the table. The food was delicious. Our only complaint was how long the food took to come out. 8/10 would recommend, will come again!

Weekend Winner: Another Broken Egg Café - A Brunch Blessing with Bourbon Street Vibes After my less-than-impressive stop at Roast Rider, I spotted Another Broken Egg Café just a short walk away--and let me tell you, it ended up being the best decision of the weekend. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and with Lexi in tow and patio seating available, it felt like the perfect moment. Turns out, this place is not as hidden as I thought--but it definitely deserves the hype. Let's start with the service: Our waiter was a total gem. He's actually from Florida and is just working at this location for the summer while visiting friends in the area. And wow, they hit the jackpot with him. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food--that's the kind of energy that makes a breakfast experience unforgettable. He let me know the menu leans New Orleans-style, which immediately sold me. I asked for a drink rec and went with the monthly special: a blueberry margarita. The juice was fresh-squeezed--you could tell right away--but it was a little tart for my taste. When I mentioned it, he kindly brought out some simple syrup, and with a quick stir, it became the perfect brunch cocktail. Now, let's talk French toast. I ordered the pineapple rum sauce French toast, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it might be one of the best I've had since moving here. That. Sauce. Was. Everything. Sweet, boozy, buttery magic. I was this close to asking for a jar to take home. I even saved a piece of French toast just so I could enjoy it later with more of that rum sauce. And yes--I already have dreams of blending it into a frozen banana milkshake. The patio? Gorgeous. Plenty of seating--tables, lounge chairs, even little couches--and totally dog-friendly. It's relaxed, comfortable, and perfect for solo brunch, friend catch-ups, or bigger parties. There's indoor seating too, with a cute bar top if you want to sit

I got their seasonal peach pancake ($14) and it was pretty average tasting. The peach was kinda of lack luster. Staff was good. My group was the only party here during the early morning which may have made a factor. Overall a little disappointed in the food, I'd probably check out other brunch options. Came for brunch after church. It wasn't packed so we were seated quickly near the bar area. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles with the tenders in their buffalo. I got the brown egg biscuit sandwich with fruit and a side of gumbo. Our server who was also the bar tender asked my husband if he wanted the tenders on top of his waffle bc the sauce would make the waffle soggy. He asked for the tenders in the side. I asked for the gravy for my sandwich on the side. When our order came out the chicken tenders were on top of the waffle. When we asked the server who brought the food out for another waffle they advised they would have to check with our specific server. She came over and advised another waffle would be out soon because she did notate the tenders should've on the side. When the waffle finally came, my husband had to go over to the bar area to ask for syrup and butter because the server was preoccupied at the bar, even though it wasn't busy. I enjoyed the biscuit sandwich. The tenders were seasoned well and the biscuit was soft. The gumbo wasn't good this time. When I saw the picture of gumbo from my first visit, it looked nothing like what I got today.

I keep coming back. Even though it's a chain, they do a great job of keeping it cute, cozy, and relaxing while maintaining solid quality across the board. The service is always attentive and friendly, which makes a big difference when you're trying to enjoy a laid-back brunch. The décor is bright and inviting, perfect for brunch vibes. I also love that the menu has calories listed. The seasonal items keep things fresh, and the drink menu is top-tier, whether you want a boozy brunch or just a solid coffee. A huge plus? You can get in line online, so no standing around forever. That's always a win in my book. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality brunch spot in VA Beach with great service and a welcoming atmosphere, this is it. Definitely worth checking out!

I can't get enough of this place! The place is nice modern decore. There is a lot of seating, but fill up fast. And you may have a long wait, but if your good there is seating at the bar and no wait. I herd so much about the "Cinnamon Roll French Toast ", so I had to order it! Ooh my folks!! Definitely the Rum Sauce, fresh berries and cinnamon roll all rapped in one delicious package. Definitely gonna ask for extra rum sauce when I do come back. Also tried the "Lobster & Brie Omlette" it was so good and rich cause of the cream cheese filling. Will have to order light on the cream cheese filling. Had to also have my Bacon! Lol They do change up the menu to reflect the season, so definitely check out. I am excited to go back and try more of their awesome dishes! But I will tell you every time I go am always gonna order the "Cinnamon Roll French Toast" Will definitely recommend this place!

What, a brunch place on Sunday morning without a wait... should've been a red flag. We were greeted and seated quickly. Tried talking to the waitress to get a kids order in early while we adults were still trying to decided. She gave us about 15 seconds before she no longer had patience for my 2 year old to order and said she'd come back when we were really ready. Uh. Ok. The menu items ALL sounded amazing. Eventually I ordered 1/2 beignets, apple fritter French toast with eggs over easy and sausage. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast with an add on of pancakes. The $5 pancakes were so tiny and luke warm. My MIL also got the fritter. I'd say the fritter had a yummy flavor and was filling - a 8/10. The sausage that came with it was delicious - 9/10. Beignets were hot but hard, 6/10. My son had difficulty eating them and I had to cut them. We asked about the tiny pancakes and she said if we ordered them differently then they would have been normal size (same price) but because we added them to the meal, they are tiny (ie they were trash). Traditional meal for what you get for the cost of $20, totally not worth it- 4/10. My mother in law tried talking to the waitress and while she was mid sentence the waitress walked off. Literally we just sat there stunned. Service - 3/10. Maybe it was an off day. I say tread lightly when picking this brunch location.

Love this restaurant. Always so clean, bright and welcoming. The staff from the moment you walk in until you check out is always so friendly. Brittany was our server and she was fantastic. She took very good care of us and didn't hesitate to help us out. The food came out fast, was delicious and very flavorful. My only minor complaint was that my breakfast potatoes were a little shriveled and overcooked but the the bourbon pancakes were to die for! I could have eaten that all day, every day. Will certainly return soon.

Country power bowl (breakfast grits)
Julia D.

Ambiance was great and the service was great, but I hate to say the food was awful. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my partner had the country power bowl. The bacon was decent and flavorful, but everything else was so bland it practically tasted like cardboard. No amount of salt or pepper could fix the gravy, imagine a spoonful of soggy flour on top of (I will say, decent) biscuits. My partner's grits were also completely flavorless and watery, along with everything else in the bowl. We hate wasting food, but unfortunately most of it was inedible and we ended up paying while leaving full plates behind. It's never a good feeling to spend money on a bad meal, but I guess you win some and lose some. Learn from our mistake and spend your money elsewhere.

Shrimp and grits
Mary-Ann L.

Ambiance is great, bright and airy.. modern than most mom and pop diner. Lots of people seem to come to enjoy the atmosphere, congregating over good food. Service is fast, we got seated immediately. Server came quickly to our table. When asked whether the shrimp and grits is good, she said it is , but do not expect it to be like typical Louisiana style. And she was right. My shrimp and grits didn't look as appetizing, brownish sauce/gravy drowning the grits. The proportion of shrimp to grits is little. And it was on the salty side. My beau got eggs Benedict and home fries, which seemed more delectable. I'd say check this place out. I'd come back for other menu items.

I had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. Awesome!! Great place for Breakfast. The waitress, her name was Julie was very pleasant and personal. The place is very clean,it has a Industrial look.

Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it is mainly a seafood restaurant the aesthetic was ocean or bay themed. They had great decorations of coral reef and other things found in the ocean around the restaurant. They had a great seating area for patrons who were waiting for a table. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well. They weren't too strong but they weren't weak either. I recommend trying out this restaurant if you are in the area. It is totally worth the wait.

This is a must-stop every time we come to VA. Highly recommend.

It happened to be Restaurant Week, which made us a little nervous, but it ended up being totally fine. The dining room never felt overly crowded, the noise level was comfortable, and having the Restaurant Week prix fixe, drink specials, and regular menu all available gave us plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. One small note: the plastic logo cups served with the water decanter felt a little out of place. They were a bit sharp on the lips and didn't quite match the rest of the dining experience. Minor detail, but noticeable. The drinks, however, were excellent. On our server's recommendation, my husband ordered the Gingerbread Old Fashioned and I had the Salted Caramel Martini. Both were seasonal specials and both were fantastic. When we asked about the scotch eggs, our server explained they're normally a brunch-only item. We were a little disappointed (and may have made a few pouty faces while explaining we'd come specifically for them for his birthday), but we quickly let it go, it obviously wasn't her fault. What we didn't realize was that she went back and told the kitchen manager that it was his birthday and that we'd made the trip just for those scotch eggs. Since the kitchen wasn't slammed, they decided to make them anyway and surprised us with an order. We were honestly floored. My husband was thrilled. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. And the scotch eggs were exactly what he'd been hoping for! They were crispy on the outside with a rich, savory center. For entrées, his Nashville Hot Chicken was juicy with the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. My Haystack Burger was stacked and delicious, though the BBQ sauce was strong enough to overshadow the pickled green tomato a bit. The fries were fantastic - crispy, battered, and perfect from first bite to last. Our server checked in at all the right times and kept drinks refilled without us needing to ask. The fact that she went out of her way to do something special during one of the busiest weeks on a restaurant's calendar says a lot about both her and the restaurant. Rustic Spoon is the kind of place that works just as well for a casual date night as it does for a birthday dinner or a night out with friends.

We know Uber Eats customer service sucks and it was no different here. I decided to call the Rustic Spoon and the manager identified the issue immediately. There was a Joshua P who ordered almost the same thing as me Joshua F minus the pancakes. Most places turn you away and tell you to deal with Uber but as a reviewer I also love to review customer service. The manager took ownership of the issue and let me know I could pick up the pancakes. When I get there, he was waiting at the front door for me, had my food hot and ready, and added something a little extra for the mistake. My wife loves this place and I understand why. I trained bank associates on customer service and soft skills and if I could've recorded this interaction, it would've been the best training one could offer. We often overlooked how important excellent service is and how it influences customers. This situation turned me into a supporter of this business going forward. Btw my food was awesome and the Apple Pie pancakes were worth it.

My daughter ordered the smothered chicken and biscuits, butter biscuits topped with cheesy eggs, fried chicken, and cajun cream sauce. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait.
