We came here Saturday afternoon and got our food fast, the place was very quiet and almost empty which was nice. I ordered the orange chicken which was super tangy, the skin crispy and delicious. It's kind of funny it's better here than in many Chinese restaurants I've been to in the past-- wasn't expecting that. My boyfriend got the steak frites which he enjoyed but he wasn't a fan of the truffle fries. The flavor of the fries was good but they were a bit oily. Also we drank like 3 of the strawberry lemonades, they were delicious. Would return for sure, so many other options on the menu and I would love to see what else they have to offer in the future. read more

This place is attached to Lynnhaven Mall. Normally I don't eat at mall restaurants due to the large number of people who go in and out of them. Service and food tends to suffer as well. But to my surprise this place has some bright spots! First the not so good stuff. I made a reservation on OpenTable and arrived early. I told the hostess and she said she would take care of it. If you've ever reserved on OpenTable you know that if you're a no show they may suspend your account. I'm sitting at the table and checked my account. She never marked my reservation as confirmed. So I just cancelled it while I was sitting in the restaurant. That's pretty much the bad stuff for me. Hence the missing 5 star review. Now I did arrive on a Monday Afternoon, place was empty and very quiet. It's pretty much set up as a bar with tables around it. The bar is the focal point. But they do have plenty of seats and tables. They have outside seating but it's right at the mall entrance. I don't see that being a pleasant way to eat with people walking past you all day. Now the food... During lunchtime they have 2 options for portions: lunch or dinner size. We got the dinner size. HUGE PORTION. And the food was very good. I was pleasantly surprised. My single malt scotch was priced cheaper than any place I've been to this week. We got the popcorn chicken. Fresh Cut breasts meat. It comes in a popcorn box, cool presentation. They were tender and good. Next up was the fish and chips. 6 pieces of fish and a mountain of fries. Very good as well. Not very bready with lots of fish. Then came the fried chicken dinner. Mercy.... 2 huge chicken breasts, a mound of mashed potatoes, and vegetables. The chicken was seasoned well and fork tender. The picture I posted gives the portion sizes no justice. I can't vouch for weekends or football Sunday, but Monday afternoon is the sweet spot for me. I'll be back... read more

This was our second visit to Maggie McFly's, though our first one was years ago. The menu isn't as large as we remember from our initial visit, but there are still plenty of good options. The ambiance feels more like a bar, but without the loud noise -- relaxed and comfortable enough to enjoy a nice meal. For food, the Wagyu Burger was delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the Chicken Costeleta, which was also really good. There was plenty of sauce, and their sauce definitely stands out -- it adds so much flavor to the dish. Our server was friendly, but not very attentive throughout the meal. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back to try more dishes from their menu. read more

Ordered to-go through UberEats because we really needed to chill in our hotel room. I felt so irregular from traveling that for my entree I just wanted a salad. Through the app I found the Steakhouse Salad (7oz Black Angus New York strip steak, bib lettuce hearts, chopped bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, grape tomatoes, red onion, croutons, eggs and dressing). I had the option to get a different kind of dressing so I chose Cucumber Wasabi. That was an excellent choice. Nothing really fancy but the salad was delicious and I was satisfied. I also ordered the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake (NY cheesecake with layers of cinnamon-nutmeg streusel on a graham cracker crust, then topped with a creamy cinnamon roll glaze and vanilla whipped cream). Good goodness, this is a CHEESECAKE and it was amazing! I loved it. Thanks for the food! read more

If you've been here before, you know the menu can be overwhelming, there's a lot to choose from. We stopped in for lunch, and our server Olivia was friendly and attentive, making the experience smooth despite the huge menu. I ordered Maggie's Turkey Club. Nothing extraordinary, but it was satisfying, well put together, and hit the spot for a midday meal. This is definitely a place where happy hour shines, which I've taken advantage of before a couple times. Their bar bites menu is smaller, easier to navigate, and a better way to order without feeling overwhelmed by options. read more

Maggie McFly's is like that friend who's mostly awesome but occasionally forgets your birthday... and maybe also puts pineapple on pizza. The food? Delicious enough that I briefly considered licking the plate, but not so life-changing that I immediately wrote a sonnet about it. The burgers were juicy, the fries were crispy, and the cocktails were strong enough to make me question some life choices--mostly the ones that led me to order tequila at noon. The service? Lovely, though one waitress gave me a look that said, "Do you really need six napkins for your nachos?" Yes, Susan. Yes, I do. The ambiance is fun--like if Cheers and a slightly tipsy family reunion had a baby. You might leave with a new friend, or at least a story about that guy who tried to do karaoke with a basket of mozzarella sticks. Overall, Maggie McFly's is great. Not perfect. Sometimes the music is too loud, sometimes the fries are a little sad, but it's charming in the kind of way that makes you smile even when you're spilling guacamole down your shirt. I give it 3 stars because it's wonderful, hilarious, and slightly unpredictable--kind of like me after three of their margaritas. read more

Pretty surprised by the amount of negative reviews & overall rating. Almost didn't come because of it, but glad we went anyway. Clean modern interior, friendly wait staff, and good food. -Buffalo Chicken Dip: 4/5, huge portion, very tasty, could've been a little more spicy though. -Burgers: 4/5, bleu burger and brunch burger were both very good. Could've had a little more flavor/seasoning but overall very good. Sweet tea was also very good as well. Definitely recommend trying this spot out if you're in the area. read more

I always passed this place walking into the mall so decided to try it out. Walking into we were sat right away (didn't expect anything else on a Monday). The place was very welcoming and our waiter was very nice! I got a chicken Buffalo sandwich and it was great!! Definitely had spice but I wish it was just a little more. I only got a photo of my food due to my husband eating his food to fast... he got the chicken Alfredo and he loved it!! Only downside was our waiter was extremely busy (I guess someone called out) but she was still great! We will be back!! read more

I went back to Maggie McFly's after three years. We originally planned to eat at Cheesecake Factory, but they had a three hour wait. Since we had a large party, we decided to try Maggie McFly's instead. I am glad we did because the food was delicious. I ordered the Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp and it was amazing. We had a party of nine so I cannot list what everyone ordered, but I do know everyone enjoyed their meals. This visit was much better than my last experience. Our server was attentive and the ambiance was great. We will definitely be returning. read more

Parking here is terrible for starters. Just wanted to say that before actually going into the restaurant, be prepared for a walk. As far as everything else went, my dad and I met his friend there for dinner. Luckily he had gotten a booth before we arrived. We noticed he hadn't gotten a drink yet and he said that they haven't checked on him to get one during the time he's been waiting on us. So, we chat a bit, and about maybe 6 or so minutes pass, and finally our server comes up to us. Now, I get it, it seems a bit busy, and she did apologize for the wait, but someone should've came up to us by now in my opinion. If you're busy, you ask someone if they can get your table drinks while you finish what you're doing quickly. Or have someone inform the table that you're a bit busy but will be over as soon as you can. In my opinion, communication is key between servers and guests. If you don't have that, the dining experience can be ruined quicker than them leaving. Since we had time to look over the menu, we knew what we wanted when she returned with the drinks. Mind you, we asked for water with lemon and an unsweet tea, but got no lemon. I'm not gonna make a fuss over a little thing though, so we ordered our food, and she left again. We got our food in good time and she gave us refills and left us to it. I had gotten two avocado tacos and one fish taco. The avocado taco tasted a little odd. I've made fried avocados before and they were not like this. The breading was somewhat sweet, but coated the avocado well. It was crisp, and the taco altogether had good flavor, but individually tasting each thing wasn't the best. The guacamole could've just been lime crema at that point. It had no flavor but an overwhelming amount of lime. Overall, not my favorite taco. As for the fish, it was a little fishy, which considering it's cod, it should never taste like that. The mangoes were severely underripe, and the mango sauce that comes with it drenched the taco, it made a big pool on my plate. It was more like a mango popsicle or syrup. It just had no complexity, just super sweet. The breading on the fish was good though. As for the rice and beans, oh lord. The beans were good, I'll give them that, but the rice was like eating Ben's microwaved rice packets. It looks as good as it tasted. It was so dry, it clumped together a lot, and the vegetables were like something out of a ramen cup. Dehydrated and rehydrated but not well enough. It just seems very much so like a microwaved packet. Flavor was fine, it just seemed pretty stupid in my opinion to ask about $20 for this food when this is what you're getting. I could've made better at home is all I know. Ambiance wise it is a pretty place. Very moody with all the different lamps around the place. It almost felt like an antique lamp store. Overall, I don't see myself coming back, this place very much so belongs in a mall as far as I'm concerned. Better than a lot of the mall food, but still not good enough to be somewhere more stand alone. read more

This was our 3rd visit here (I always wait to review after we have tried a place a few times, unless we are out of town). The menu is EXTENSIVE, which always worries me. I watch so much Robert Irvine and Gordon Ramsay that I know of your menu is huge, you probably aren't doing anything well. Not so here. All 4 visits, I have been very happy with our meals. Tonight was a family dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and the outdoor seating is nice. We sat indoors tonight. It IS loud, though. But it's clean, even the bathrooms. We started with the giant soft pretzel appetizer, as we always do, when soft pretzels are on the menu. A soft pretzel is a soft pretzel, it's the dipping sauces that set a place apart. While our pretzel was a tiny bit overdone, the cheese and mustard sauces really made up for it. SO good!!! I could eat a bowl of both with a spoon. I had the "giant BLT Wedge" salad. I say giant, because it was under the Giant Salads section of the menu. It wasn't giant though. Not even a quarter wedge of an Iceberg head. Just 3 slices out of the middle. It was pretty straight forward with bacon, tomatoes and blue cheese dressing. Tasty enough, but really could have been better with some chunks of blue cheese and maybe a balsamic reduction drizzle. I also ordered truffle fries. They were cooked perfectly, though there was way too much "shaken cheese," (which is what I call Parmesan from a can. It took away from the truffle flavor. My meal is why they are losing a star. Hubby had the ribeye, which was cooked to rare perfection. He said his side Ceasar was very tasty. His steamed broccoli was pretty standard fare. The kid went with the Mac & Cheese burger which was really good, though messy. He ate it with fork and knife. It isn't like other Mac & Cheese burgers in the area where they just throw some Kraft deluxe on a burger. Kudos for that. father in law had the Tuna, blackened and cooked mid-rare. He was very happy with it. Service was great, as were the drinks. The cocktails were a bit inconsistent. I had 3 PB Mochatinis (don't judge) and all 3 tasted differently. Different bartenders maybe? We will definitely be back. They do a lot of different food on that crazy big menu, but I haven't had anything yet that I wasn't happy with. read more

First time visiting Maggie McFly's and my experience was a bit underwhelming. It was like a modern Cheesecake Factory vibe. Definitely somewhere to meet up or grab a few drinks. The menu was huge there was so much to pick from. The prices were kind of high in my opinion. The Korean bao buns were at least decently sized and the flavor wasn't so bad. The chicken was just so big for the bun I kind of wish they cut it in half and added 2 more buns so it was more proportionate. I ordered the 1/2 margherita pizza and 1/2 Caesar salad. The salad unfortunately was my favorite part which was sad because I was looking forward to a good pizza. The pizza was super bland and very thin. The cheese slid right off and what was left underneath was almost as thin as a sheet of paper honestly. I asked for ranch to try and add some flavor to it but the ranch was so watery and sour. It didn't really taste like ranch, more like cheese I'm not quite sure. My husband got a potato pizza and was also not impressed. Our server wasn't bad! We had a huge party to celebrate a birthday and she was the only one working so I don't like to complain about slow service when it's just one person and 25 people. Overall I don't think I'd recommend this place for the price. It wasn't worth it to me. Next time I try, I'll def try some different dishes. Maybe pizza wasn't their thing. read more

I've always seen this restaurant when doing my wine tasting so decided to give it a try. Overall it was an odd first experience. The host that took us to our table was in good spirits with a contagious smile! We were promptly greeted by our service. Since this was our first visit and the menu is large we asked for recommendations and he didn't have any specific suggestions. We ordered the egg roll sampler, bbq bacon cheeseburger, and the short rib grilled cheese. The egg rolls are very filling. You get the southwest, buffalo chicken, Philly, and Big Mac. The Buffalo was most flavorful, Philly was good but the meat lacked flavor, and the Big Mac was good but the pickle took over. The bbq bacon burger was missing the bbq sauce and had to be returned as the bacon wasn't well done as requested. Now the weird part. The short rib grilled cheese has bbq sauce on it and a side of tater sauce in the place. Thinking I was brought the wrong sandwich and didn't have time to deal with the error. Pretty sure it was brisket and with the fat, onion, and cheese textures together I wasn't a fan. Some like fat but that's why I didn't order brisket. The truffle fries had the parm pulled on top and the ends of the fries were soggy. When I lifted the paper come I could see all the oil gathered - enough that I was able to pour it out into the metal cup pictured. Normally truffle fries are tossed with the ingredients and this seemed to be layered. Overall the atmosphere was nice. The restaurant was clean. The chairs at the bar are stunning and the employees at the host stand have the right energy! I would give the restaurant another chance if in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

I've been to Maggie's a few times before and stopped going for a while due to having an unpleasant experience a couple of years ago. Since we were hungry and hadn't been in a while, we decided to return in hopes that things had improved. Since it was rainy, it wasn't busy at all and we were seated right away. Our server was super nice and took our drink orders. I decided on a Spicy Mango Margarita and it was amazing! For my entree, I ordered the BBQ Brisket and chose the Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese for my sides and my boyfriend decided on the BBQ Brisket sandwich. The food came out fairly quickly and as soon as the server noticed how little fries he was given with his sandwich, she graciously brought out more. The BBQ Brisket was tender but a little too salty for my liking. I also would have preferred a little less bbq sauce as well, it was very saucy. The Mac & Cheese unfortunately wasn't salty enough and lacked some flavor so I found myself eating the brisket and Mac together to balance out the flavors. The Brussels Sprouts were cooked very well and tasted great. Overall, I'm glad we went back and gave it another chance because the server was really nice and the experience was way better this time than the last so I definitely will be returning if I'm ever in the area. read more

I wanted to like Maggie McFly's because the ambiance is nice, but the place felt oddly empty even during busy times--maybe because nearby Dave & Buster's pulls the crowd. The food was mediocre at best: the ramen was basically spaghetti noodles in beef broth, and the kids' ravioli cheese sauce tasted like Cheese Whiz (they didn't eat it). The extra dirty martinis were good, but overall the food and lack of atmosphere make it hard to return. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by Maggie's! Not gonna lie - the average Yelp rating had me a little nervous. A girlfriend recommended this for our monthly dinner outing. She had been a few times recently and raved about the extensive menu and the food, so we agreed to give it a try. As this occupies space attached to Lynnhaven Mall, there is a lot of parking. The trouble is finding a spot during peak times. The mall gets pretty busy, but I was lucky to snag a spot as someone was leaving. When you enter, the space is huge and welcoming. We were seated in an area past the restrooms - much like a closed in patio. It was nicely decorated with tables and booths. I really love the decor! We were promptly greeted and placed drink orders, then got to business looking at the menu (which is close to rivaling Cheesecake Factory). I definitely had a hard time deciding, but went with the Cobb, a standard for me, but I liked that it had the added twist with quinoa. I asked for plain grilled chicken. They offer glazed but note on the menu that you can ask for plain if you're gluten free. Food arrived really quickly, but my salad had the wrong chicken so it was sent back. Friends enjoyed the crispy shrimp salad and fish and chips. Both looked amazing. Their portions are gigantic. We all left with boxes and I had a full lunch for the following day. Service throughout our visit was friendly and attentive. Food was really good. There were a lot of other items like the bowls and some seafood options that sound appetizing. I also appreciate that they go beyond the standard kid's menu and have some really interesting choices, like steak, seafood and salads. They also have a pretty extensive beverage menu, including alcohol-free selections. I look forward to returning with my family! read more

While our service was great, the food absolutely fell short of amazing. I had the buffalo chicken pizza, my mom had the risotto and our friend had a pasta dish. We didn't try any drinks which maybe they put more thought and effort into those since they have a HUGE selection. So if you're a person who cares more about the drinks over the food then this may be your place. Would I try them again perhaps. The atmosphere was a very laidback place yet very well maintained. Maggie's has a solid happy hour. On a good day you'll receive service with a smile and enjoy some well fried wings. Personally Happy Hour is the only time I'd dine with Maggie's. Their consistency isn't great and they always seem under staffed. It's a shame because dining at the mall is always my mind after shopping. Maggie's can be great for large groups and families because of their large menu. They also have a pretty good rotation of seasonal beers and incorporate local businesses in their menu. Unfortunately, Maggie's is a hit and miss and honestly everything is always sticky and not as clean as you'd want the dining room to be. read more

Sunday dinner was not crowded, which allowed for a pleasant atmosphere and attentive table staff--great customer service overall. However, the pot roast I ordered was disappointing. It came as three good-sized medallions accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables that were slightly crisp, just how I like them, and smooth, buttery mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the pot roast itself was tough and certainly needed more time in the roasting pan or at least seven minutes in a pressure cooker. If I hadn't been short on time, I would have returned it and ordered a different dish. Pls pick another dish on the menu. In terms of service, I must question why the receptionist or front staff seated the three of us near the kitchen entrance ( hmmmm..) , when there were so many open tables. the clatter of pots and pans drowned out our conversation. I didn't even notice if the restaurant played music, as the noise made it impossible to focus on anything else. read more

We went for Friday night dinner at around 945ish. It wasn't packed at all. Keep that in mind. We sat and began ordering the Truffle Fries (snack) for appetizers , the shrimp risotto, buffalo chicken egg rolls (put a pin in this), and Caesar salad. We also ordered the mule flight and a lemon drop martini. The truffle fries were really good! The garlic aioli was top tier. The shrimp risotto was pretty good as well. The Caesar salad was ..... a Caesar salad. Can't really mess that up. Now I know you're wondering, well why give 3 stars? Because the drinks (alcoholic beverages) took ages! Our food was already at our table by the time the drinks came out. Now remember IT WASN'T PACKED. I WOULD SAY THERE WERE MAYBE 30 GUESTS? Why did it take so long? I will never know. The buffalo chicken eggs rolls were NOT great! It was buffalo chicken dip in an egg roll vs how the menu made it seem (imagine buffalo chicken wrap but in egg roll form). I wasn't impressed I actually sent it back! The menu is almost 15 pages of every food you can imagine, I probably just won't return because it wasn't memorable. 3/10 recommend. read more

Chicken salad wrap was...not as cold as I prefer it to be. Fries were not good even when they were hot. No seasoning to speak of on them. I ordered a Manhattan and it was decent until I got to the bottom of the glass - then it tasted very much like soap. I had never heard of Maggie McFly's but was excited to give it a try because it was a new restaurant for me. It's definitely a hip spot. Ute was well lit and clean. The primary decor color is black. You can't go wrong with black it definitely goes with everything. I had the farm to table burger. It had red onions, bib lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese on this tasty bun. The burger was juicy, fresh and tasty. I had sweet potato fries in lieu of regular fries. They were crisp and slightly moist inside and really good. For dessert I had the lava cake with whip cream, walnuts and vanilla and chocolate ice cream. It was okay. The cake was missing the lava. That was disappointing. I enjoy the hot chocolate fudge that flows from lava cakes after sinking my spoon into it. Not this time. The most disappointing thing about this experience was when I waiter had to literally tell my family and I that they were going to be doing a deep clean and would like for us to finish up and leave. Note that the restaurant's closing hours were posted and indicated closing at 11pm. It wasn't even 9:30pm.
