Denny's will always be Denny's. It's a place that's good on a crunch. The waiter that served us was awesome! He made going here worth it lol

Service was a 5. We were immediately seated. The waitress was attentive. At 11pm the restaurant was empty but my friend's order came out right away when other restaurants would be dragging due to it being at wee hours of the night. Ambiance was a 4, the restaurant seems to be clean. My friend ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns and crepes topped with fresh strawberries. Crepes weren't supposed to be seemingly fried to a slight brown crisp. The hash browns were slightly undercooked on the inside.

Good toast

The pancakes were one of the best I have had and the toast was cooked perfectly but there was a hole in the ceiling but this is the first dennys I have been to and definitely will be back

My mom and I decided to visit Dennys today because I had a free everyday value slam for a birthday reward. It wasn't crowded when we went inside and we were seated immediately. The everyday value me as l was just enough. The eggs were yummy and the French toast was really nice. The waitress even surprised me with some ice cream for my birthday. I will continue to come back to this Dennys.

Enjoyed my delicious breakfast today, Azza always provided fantastic cutomer service from beginning to the end. She is really informed and friendly in going the extra mile in providing great service. I HIGHLY recommend and truly appreciates.

Incredibly slow service. All I wanted was a sandwich. Waited forever. The food was good, but not worth the wait. Maybe next time.

The Butcher's Son - 6 oz sirloin dinner with oyster Rockefeller add-on

Our server, Lindsey was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She was attentive throughout our meal. My husband ordered the 6oz sirloin, which he says is always very flavorful. For his sides, he chose the cucumber salad, and he subbed a Wedge Salad for his second side. He was very glad that he chose to try something different. I was impressed with the wedge salad's lovely presentation. My order included the 8oz salmon with whipped potatoes and green beans. My dinner was so tasty! And the fresh sliced bread served with honey bourbon butter is a wonderful start to the meal. Dinner was so tasty that we decided to order dessert, too! The Cherry Pie Cobbler with vanilla ice cream was a delicious treat.

The special lets you choose from 10oz pork chop, 8oz stuffed chicken or a 6oz sirloin each with two sides included. This week I did the 10oz pork chop and went with their recommended cooked level of medium. It was juicy and tender. My sides were the cucumber salad and the mashed potato, both delicious! Anna was our server, and she couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Sometimes Early bird specials means the staff is not at their optimum but not at Butcher's Son! Our meals came out in a good amount of time. Five stars were earned on both the meal and the service!

It has been nearly three weeks; I can stop thinking about No Frill Bar and Grill…read more I'm a military spouse, so I know my time in Hampton Roads is coming to an end soon. I visited a Hampton Roads Restaurant group on FB and asked if someone was visiting from out of town: What is your go-to place to take them? Out of 90+ comments, No Frill Bar and Grill was mentioned the most - six times! So when I finally had a day off and some other business to tend to in Norfolk, it was the perfect excuse to finally try them. No Frill Bar and Grill has been open for nearly 30 years by Jerry Meltsner. Jerry's nephew Jon Kliner helps co-own and manage operations. It originally opened on Tidewater Drive, but the space didn't allow for much growth - 10 years later, he moved to a location off Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue. Growth continued, moving from counter service to table service. The second location, at 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, opened in 2005. The restaurant's longevity stems from quality, consistency, price, service, and staff who genuinely care about the business and serving the community. I asked the server for her opinion on two options - Salmon, Shrimp and grits won. The dish was incredible: lightly blackened salmon, for once blackened food that doesn't just taste like salt. I don't dine with the swine, so I asked for no andouille sausage. The sautéed shrimp, caramelized onions, tomatoes, and spinach simmered in Norfolk Canyon ale sauce over cheesy grits and Boursin lavash cracker. The cheesy grits were smooth, and the Boursin lavash cracker was a nice touch. The Boursin added extra creaminess to the meal. The cracker wasn't really a cracker - more like little toasted bread. After this first meal, I know two things for sure: 1. I definitely understand why it is such a local favorite, and 2. I will be back.

The service is always great and the hosts/servers are always friendly. Our go to is the meatloaf. when you're looking for a good ol' comfort food - that's the best. They also have amazing desserts that are worth a try. We found this restaurant good for families (including our toddler)! Food was toddler approved!

I remember when this place initially opened. Being EXTREMELY skeptical, with places adding "NYC" in…read moretheir name as a BS way to get you in. Having "NY Bagel" is literally, sacrilegious to those of us that know WHAT a true "NY Bagel" is. Their name hold true to form, what a NY Bagel is. I initially wanted Bagels & Lox, but changed my mind when I saw what I was also craving... PASTRAMI. I got "The DON," pastrami piled high (NOT "Katz" high, but a Chesapeake high, with Cold Slaw and a pickle. When I tell you delicious!! The WATER's PH balance is the same as NY, making the bagel, an authentic "NY Bagel." The Cold Slaw... my god today... I haven't had slaw like this since I left NYC!! Ambiance, basic, not very reminiscent of NYC, BUT, every menu item is named after an area in NY. So pleased. I'll be back!!!

A Longtime Favorite That Has Started to Slip I love this…read moreplace and have recommended it often, but the quality of one specific sandwich has noticeably declined over the past few months. What Made It Memorable Photo 1 shows the Reuben sandwich from October 10, 2024, and it was unforgettable--the kind of sandwich I could not stop thinking about. Since then, my family and I have returned at least once a month. When family visited from out of town, this was one of the first places we wanted to take them. What Has Changed Fast forward to 2026, and the quality over the past few months has gotten worse with each visit. The sandwich no longer feels like the same thoughtful, well-made item that made us keep coming back. * The bread seems different. * The ingredients feel sparse. * Today's sandwich was burnt. * The dressing was missing. Overall, the quality control just does not feel consistent anymore. I truly enjoyed this place, but I cannot justify paying $17 for a sandwich that is so clearly not what it used to be. A Hopeful Note The employees are kind and friendly, and the service is usually quick even when the restaurant is busy. The food used to be amazing, and I am genuinely hoping this is just a bump in the road and that the team can make a few adjustments to bring the quality back to what it was.

Baker's Crust is definitely worth a stop!…read more I had the Charleston Chicken & Avocado Sandwich with buttermilk-fried chicken, avocado, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, honey, and mustard -- and it was so good! The ingredients are absolutely top-notch. My fiancé tried the Lemon Basil Harvest Salad with chicken, and that was excellent as well. Fresh, flavorful, and a great gluten free option if you're looking for something a little lighter. The service was excellent from start to finish. The bartenders were on top of everything, the management was next level, and the atmosphere was busy, energetic, and just really chill - it's def a vibe. If there's a wait, don't let that stop you it's worth it. The food, service, and overall experience definitely deliver. If you're passing through the area, I highly, highly recommend Baker's Crust. Definitely a place I'd come back to! The management takes pride in being the best and it shows in service. Appreciate you Mark!

We always choose the Greenbrier location in Chesapeake since there's ample parking available, and the service is very good. Tonight I tried a new salad, the Lemon Basil Harvest Blend, and I appreciated our server, Jackeline M for asking if I preferred the dressing on the side. Yes, please! I'm so glad she asked! This mixed greens salad has some star ingredients that caught my eye: charred artichokes, green olives, and grilled balsamic chicken. Yum. I'll be ordering this salad again. My bestie ordered her favorite bc combo with Tomato Soup and the Wine Country salad. She says that soup and salad combo never disappoints. She finished it! But, we always save room to share a trusty bc favorite dessert: the Wimbledon (strawberries with whipped cream crepes). Although it's no longer on the menu, the Greenbrier location always whips it up for us when we ask. It's an oldie, and a goodie! We enjoy the cozy atmosphere of Baker's Crust and find that our dinner catch ups over their delicious food and dessert are always long overdue. I boxed half of my salad to take home and Jackeline was kind in bringing me extra salad dressing to go. Very thoughtful. We'll be back soon!

Extremely disappointed, First time and last time trying this restaurant…read more We arrived at 1:17 PM and placed a to-go order. We were not given an estimated wait time. It is now 2:45PM over an hour later and we are still waiting with no updates from staff. I completely understand that lunch rushes happen, but communication is basic customer service. If the kitchen is running this far behind, customers deserve to be told upfront so they can make an informed decision. I was waiting in the car with my toddler, who fell asleep around 1:30 PM while we were still waiting. Sitting in a parking lot for over an hour with no communication is unacceptable. If you value your time, I would not recommend ordering to-go from here. Respect for customers' time clearly isn't a priority. Updated Finally received our food at 3:45 to only be left more disappointed by the portion sizes. Only received one piece of fish for a dinner, yams are not homemade and Mac and cheese was dry. They offered a free drink at 2:40 pm which doesn't nearly compensate for time. They continued to take orders by phone and in person and couldn't handle demand. At a point when your kitchen is over 2 hours behind, you need to push out the orders you already have and turn people away. I would much rather have been turned away and to try them on a different day with a coupon.
