First time trying the new First Watch in Suffolk that opened not too long ago. We attempted to try it last month but they had already closed. We started with water with lemon. My husband said "to be water it was very crisp" My husband got the Tri-Fecta with sausage instead of bacon and blueberry pancakes instead of waffles. He said the eggs needed salt and pepper but were fine. The blueberries were a bit much in the pancakes and would cut back on that just a little if he could. I got the Monterey Club. The bread was super soft. It was okay. Needed a little something, I don't know what, but flavor was lacking somewhere. I added a little pepper and it did help. The soup was delicious! I did order a side of the million dollar potatoes because I had heard great things. They didn't come with my order so I asked my waiter about them (he was super nice, I forgot his name) and he said he didn't want them to get cold so they were coming. Another lady brought them but they were regular potatoes (pictured). So when our waiter returned I showed him this wasn't the million dollar potatoes. He admitted he remembered me ordering them but didn't write them down at them time and apologized. I had already pretty much finished my meal so I just declined them. He was kind and took the other potatoes off the order (I didn't eat them). I'll catch the million dollar potatoes on the next visit. I still want to try them.

I went here the other day for lunch. My server was Sezi (sp?) and she was super attentive. The food was delicious and came rather quickly. I had the lunch combo with half veggie sandwich on GF bread and the honey pecan chicken salad. The restaurant has only been open about a month. It has a sleek, modern feel. I will definitely be back!

First Watch is my favorite place to eat in Suffolk. I usually get the same thing because I love it. I decided to try something different yesterday. I got the summer special Banana Brittle french toast, sausage links and a mint chocolate iced coffee. This might be the best brunch I have ever eaten. The french toast was so much more than a Banana's Foster style dish that I had anticipated. There is a fesh lemon burst in every bite. The blueberries made a perfect pairing which I had previously questioned because they seemed like a misfit. The meal was so large and rich that I got two meals and a snack out of it. The iced coffee is the best I have had anywhere in Hampton Roads. It is more intricate than most iced coffees yet is less expensive than StarBucks (honestly, SBs should be ashamed at how much better FW is). The service is always top notch. It was a birthday weekend and we went to a very nice dinner an hour away that was wonderful but I would have preferred to be right back at First Watch.

Came here for brunch. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. Husband ordered the breakfast sandwich which came with eggs, meat, arugula on a brioche he enjoyed. Other families ordered pancakes, waffles, and omelettes which they enjoyed. I got the carrot cake pancakes, cheese was good, but the carrots were undercooked and raw. They should at least steam and or purée some carrots in the batter so it taste cooked. Otherwise it taste like raw carrots. I did not enjoy service was good ambience is very casual. Prices are very reasonable.

Good service, good food, fair price. What more do you want. Needs to open at 0700. I just need more characters.

I have been going for the past year, and they are consistent every time. Recently we went as a family. The vibe was amazing as usual. Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming. The staff? Always incredible. They're genuinely friendly, super attentive, and their recommendations never miss. Now the FOOD. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory, and every single item delivered: The peach pecan streusel crêpe was pure comfort warm, buttery, and perfectly balanced with that sweet, nutty crunch. I usually get extra caramel drizzle. The French toast crêpe. Imagine your favorite brunch classic leveled up into something soft, rich, and absolutely indulgent. The Nutella and banana crêpe is a crowd pleaser, especially for kids. It's creamy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of sweetness. The turkey, goat cheese, and avocado panini brought the savory side. The flavor was great, and came with kettle chips. The drinks were just as fun and unique. The butterfly pea flower lemonade, was not only refreshing but visually stunning. We also got the mango soda and a blueberry soda, both bursting with flavor and kid approved. Everything about Café Davina just hits right. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the people. It's one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel good, and then leave already planning your next visit. If you're looking for amazing crêpes, a cozy vibe, and consistently great service. This place is it!

There are plenty of photogenic spots both inside and outside, lots of seating, and several fun areas to explore. Be sure to check out the outdoor seating, the small side shop, and especially the seating area hidden inside the large tree. The café feels more like an experience than just a coffee stop, and I enjoyed wandering around the property almost as much as sitting down with my drink. As for the menu, I found the food and drinks a bit overpriced for the quality. I ordered a matcha latte with pumpkin cheesecake flavoring, but unfortunately could barely taste any flavoring aside from the oat milk. That said, I think Cafe Davina's biggest strength is its atmosphere rather than its food. It's a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or take photos, and I'd be willing to come back and give other menu items a try.

The vibe just feels overwhelming instead of welcoming. The coffee has also gone downhill severely. It doesn't taste the same as it used to, and the quality just isn't there anymore. One positive was that I was offered a sample of the pressed juices, which I appreciated. That was a nice touch and good customer service. The ambiance is very, very, very dark and not really cozy. It feels more bare than inviting. There are only tables and chairs and a single couch, but the couch isn't facing the TV and there aren't any lounge chairs. If you're sitting on the couch trying to have a conversation with a friend, you basically have to turn sideways the whole time, which isn't comfortable at all. The layout just doesn't feel thought out for relaxing or hanging out. Overall, the atmosphere could definitely use some improvement to make it more comfortable and welcoming.

As for me the Spicy Sausage Omelette was really really good. The sausage had a bite of heat but nothing crazy. Not sure what they used but don't stop - it was that good. We both also had Sweet Teas. We were warned from the start - they are dark and REAL sweet. Which for me was perfect. As for the service: there was one lady (dam forgot her name) taking care of all the guest and she did great. When I say taking care of - I mean everything. Bussing tables, sitting folks, taking orders, and cashing out. Again she was wonderful! The place is neat just like many have said before me. Old 80's type stuff on the walls and tables. Now let me address something that some past Yelpers clearly have an issue with. There are small indications of the owners political views within the location. Nothing crazy at all and unless you really look for it you won't notice. Some past yelpers I who clearly don't agree used this to bust down their Yelp review. That's ridiculous. If the owner wants to voice their opinion- they have every right. It's their place - with their money on the line and their time vested. They clearly treated every guest wonderfully and that's all you should really focused on. So looking for a very good meal (breakfast) at a nice little joint - go on in and enjoy. I'm sure we will be back and might even shoot for the lunch menu next time.

But there are numerous 80's themed posters on the wall. Our breakfast was incredible. I had the Portuguese sausage omelette which was absolutely amazing.
