This is a clean, well managed Denny's. Servers were taking temperatures, masks were being worn and good cleaning protocols were being followed. The food was exactly as one would expect for Denny's. 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, hash browns, coffee and orange juice for eight bucks. Phenomenal price for breakfast. Manager mentioned to the crowd waiting that the lounge was open. Thanks to Charlie, Ray, Autumn, Emma, Terry, Juan and the rest of the crew, I enjoyed the $5.99 special breakfast in the bar, watching Eclipse coverage on 8 big screens and playing Keno. Unreal! Fantastic! This place is smack dab on the red line, center of the umbra, complete totality. Still here at 8am, sipping water and coffee waiting for what for some will be a once in a lifetime experience. Experiences at Denny's may vary. This is the most horrible dennys i have been to! My husband and i visited this location on my birthday on his lunch break since i happen to be in town. We were seated right away, but we sat and waited 10 minutes and we had not even been given water! There were about 3 workers just standing joking around with eachother. With two kids we just want to get in and out as fast as possible. This was only the second time we have been to this location, the first visit was not much better, we only stayed because i was pregnant and really wanted a milkshake. After 10 minutes we decided we did not have the time to wait and walked out! We went to red robin where we were seated and served our food within 15 minutes. Came here to have a decent breakfast with family and were very disappointed. My son and I got the country fried steak plate and both of our hash browns and eggs were lukewarm, we had to send our sons eggs back after waiting forever to finally flag someone down to help us. The country fried steak was good. My wife got the French toast slam she said it would of been good if it was more than lukewarm. The bacon was sadly thin like rice paper and cold. It seems that our meal was rushed, they were busy, but that's no excuse. Now we wait for our ticket so we can move on with our life. Coming into the restaurant, we weren't greeted by our waitress but rather asked, "two?" asked for our drink order before reaching the table. The open kitchen revealed an unpleasant manager, complaining about employees' weak performance and how customers shouldn't expect a five star experience. Food took for-EVER to come out and was warm at best. My eggs in a basket were burned, and our requested French toast toppings, which we were charged for, did not come. I'm done with Denny's. I have been a Denny's customer for over 30 years, since my kids were small. We used to go on long road trips and we could count on Denny's to be kid-friendly, and provide decently predictable food as well as bottomless cups of coffee. After many recent visits to Denny's in Albany, Oregon, too many disappointments lead me to part ways with them forever. Mother's Day was the last nail in the coffin. As on other visits, too many details were overlooked, and the food came to the table cold. We arrived very early Sunday morning, the restaurant was not even half filled. We were seated quickly, and a hostess brought coffee and creamer. So far, so good, right? We perused the menu, made our selections, our server came in very timely fashion to take our orders as well as make a couple of suggestions. Very personable and knows her menu. Then everything went downhill. We sat for 40 minutes waiting for our food, not once in that time did anyone come to re-fill our coffee. Nor did anyone come to explain why it was taking so long to get food to our table. It's breakfast...it doesn't take that long to grill some scrambled eggs and hash browns. People who came in AFTER us got served BEFORE us. Finally, when the food did arrive, the server quickly asked if we needed anything and I asked for green tabasco/Louisiana sauce. She brought it and rushed away before we could draw a breath to speak! One of us had ordered a Grand Slam breakfast, with pancakes, but the pancakes came without the usual scoop of margarine/butter. The other of us ordered a breakfast that was supposed to come with choice of toast, an English muffin had been requested. That was also missing. The food was lukewarm, not hot. Not a good thing when one is all set for sizzling hot hash browns! Not disastrous, but no one ever came back to the table to ask if everything was all right, and the servers were not easy to flag down. This is a snapshot of our last few visits. Cold food, missing items, servers too busy to care, even when we can get someone to acknowledge a missing item and offer to get it, it never comes. There is no excuse for habitual oversights such as these, especially when the restaurant is NOT FULL. What is that definition of insanity? Doing the same thing in the same way and expecting a different result? Well, it would be insanity to expect anything more from this Denny's than I've gotten the last few times. I gave them several chances and they let me down every time. No more Denny's for me, ever. read more

I got there and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. The wait staff was friendly, but so friendly that my food was on the line getting cold while they were chatting away with people paying their check. Most of the food was good, but the ham was all but inedible. I needed to get to work so I attempted to pay the check, just to find out that I couldn't until the manager got in because I wanted to use a credit card. The Manager was late getting in an walked right past me so that he could open the bar for the people waiting at 7:00am to get in. When I told him that I was late for work because he didn't get to work on time, he just dismissed it without hardly even thinking about it. My last experience at Denny's was not the best. The food there is okay. Nothing too great but for a Denny's my expectations aren't too high. As for the last time I visited, it was a very busy saturday at lunch time, so I understand the business and stress during the lunch hour. But, we had to wait so long even to get our waters. We had 4 different servers including a manager who asked us if someone was getting our drinks and we had told him we thought so a while ago and it still took a couple more waitresses after him to actually go run directly and grab us our drinks. Other than that I haven't had too bad of an experience. Just would like the service to be more friendly and on top of it. It has seemed to dwindle of the years. But a lot of my friends still love to go here. I just don't get too hyped up over it. read more

Disgusting! I ordered the chicken avocado Cesar salad. In the menu it looked delicious and fresh. When the waitress brought it to me, my mouth fell open it was so unappealing. I said this doesn't look like the one in the menu. She proceeded to tell me how she made it! The cook/chef had nothing to do with it! Instead of trying to take care of it herself, she went to get the manager. The manager came over, is everything alright? I said no not really, but I will do the best I can on this so called bowl of lettuce. She did not offer to comp it, or get me something different. Food is pretty good and arrives somewhat quickly. If it's super busy you may have to be patient and wait, like anywhere else you would go. We eat here regularly and have tried many of the various dishes, from breakfast, lunch and dinners...even dessert. It's all pretty good, some better than others, but that's because I'm picky, lol. The service is also good, sometimes it's not so great. Everyone has bad days I figure. At times it can get a little bit noisy, like the time there was a large group of cheerleaders from out of town and their coaches. That was not the norm for this particular restaurant. It's fairly priced and you get good sized portions depending on what you order. (I don't think that you get much when you order a skillet dinner. ) Overall it is a pretty decent place to go for a meal, no matter which time of the day or food you choose. read more

I worked at albany dennys for 2 hours. Grease residue (like the kind that can buildup in a stove vent/hood or on a deep fryer) was on everything, and thick in a lot of places--the hand washing sinks were the worst. I used a spoon to scrape the grease residue off the hand washing sink and it peeled off in rubbery strips. Kitchen/grill area were worse. Egg pans, spatulas--everything I touched was sticky and greasy or covered in dried raw eggs. Even the legs on the ice machine had sticky grease. Black mold was running in big streaks on walls in dishwashing area, as well as under the dish table. Moldy food covered the underside of the dishwashing sinks. Old food pieces were stuck all over the walls. About 1/4 of the dishes put through the sanitizer came out dirty and the employee running the machine got mad when I sent the dirty dishes back to him. General manager told me they barely passed their last inspection. It seemed that no one cared that they were serving food in a nasty kitchen. I quit and told the manager that I would not serve anyone from that kitchen. I've seen several restaurant kitchens but I've never seen one this dirty. Today the bar hostess was chatting at the booth behind me and as she headed back to the bar bumped into a waiter and they both bumped by baby girls high chair pushing her mouth into the table! The waiter walked away saying oh shes ok no worries and the bar lady just said oh sorry i think i scared her as she talked to my baby but did not even bother trying to talk to me and really apologize.
